So tonight I phoned up The Big Ying wanting to order food, I gave the woman my address and give her the order that I was hoping to place. I then went onto ask the price and she gave me the price, so I said "Are you serious" because it was very dear for only 4 items, she then said "Yes do you want it" and I said "No it's alright" and hung up the phone. I then ordered something from China Garden in Carrickfergus, I highly recommend it by the way tastey and affordable. My order I was hoping to get from the china garden "came" now that was ok we sat ate our chinese and realised we got no curry sauce, so we rang china garden thinking it was them who sent us the chinese. Turns out it was The Big Ying sending a order I did not place because someone from China Garden then came to my door with my order and I said "You must've got the wrong house mate" and he went on. So China Garden rang my sister arguing with her and my sister was very confused saying "We are sitting eating it" That's the moment we realised what The Big Ying done it all made sense why it was so expensive and why we didn't get no curry sauce. I rang The Big Ying and proceeded to tell the woman what the crack is and she began to get cheeky saying that what I am saying is "wrong" and "I didn't say any of them things" now I know what I said and I know what I done so I continued to try explain again but with a slightly raised tone because the woman genuinely started to piss me off. Then she interrupted me and started to twist my words saying "You just said that you placed the order and now you're saying I didn't" when in reality what I said both times was "I came on the phone hoping to order a chinese and I thought it was to expensive so I said are you serious and no it's alright then hung up" so when I pointed out the fact that she's twisting my words she said and I quote "Awk f**k off ya w****r" now as a customer I shouldn't be spoken to like that especially when she is in the wrong. I hope the manager see's this and fires her because clearly she is cancer to the business and attracts bad reviews. So if you're into being talked to like a peace of crap and having expensive orders being sent to your house unwillingly! Then this is the takeaway for you! If not then just order from China Garden or Lucky Chilly at least their Honey Chilli Chicken isn't watery Not to mention the Food Hygiene rating is only a 3

Bar Retro, while being super stylish, does it in a way that it still fits in with the picture perfect traditional surroundings in Hillsborough. Aside from the Bistro, Bar Retro also comprises a modern cocktail lounge, club, and café. I had a two course lunch (unplanned) because upon viewing their menu, I was delighted to see that they did flatbreads with hummus as a starter. If you know me, you will know that I could absolutely live on the stuff, and it's not often you see it on a menu, so it would be a shame not to seize the opportunity when it presents itself! For my 'main' dish, I had the chicken with feta and olive salad, which was absolute perfection. There are so many other things I am dying to try here, and with the prices so reasonable, I will definitely be back!

We were not escorted to our table and it was sticky and untidy on arrival. We complained that we had not booked in for the cafe and so they eventually found us a table half an hour after we had arrived. There were very long waits for the main course and the dessert. The food was nice enough but to be honest you can get similar meals elsewhere plus better service. We ordered an Americano at the end and were given a filter coffee - we asked whether it was an Americano and the waitress said it was an "Americano Filter"... enough said. We were charged full price for the whole meal without anything taken off for the hassle and all the waiting. To conclude, do not bother going here. I'd recommend one of the other restaurants in Hillsborough if you are trying to decide where to eat because there's no way that their service could be any worse than this place! For the price you are paying I expect high service and good food!!!

First of all, places as good as this are not plentiful enough. Second, if I could give it 8 stars I…read morewould. This place came recommended, but with a codicil I hear from time to time - the portions are small. I don't really mind this, provided the quality is there, and the tastes are wonderful. For the most part the tastes and the quality here are wonderful. So four of us, all first time diners here, arrived with anticipation. Last time we four dined together was in Disney's Boathouse Orlando and I've separately reviewed this below average place. It was a cold evening about 6c as we arrived. I think we got the last car parking space; it doesn't have extensive parking. The greeting was warm and it felt like we were going into an old barn, the impressive brick walls are feet thick and lots of exposed old wood. Cosy enough. My starter was seared scallop with confit chicken wing, crisp chicken skin, chicken sauce and wild mushrooms. It was delicious and hard to discern the best bit. It was all very good with a moreish sauce. Two companions has the citrus cured salmon, with cucumber relish, salad cream and granary crisp bread. They raved about it. The salmon was a cured chunk, mostly raw within and perhaps blow torched to magnificence on the outside. One of our hungry bunch had celeriac soup which she found divine together served with tasty, chunky wheaten bread and butter. So let's pause. I read somewhere that this is a British restaurant. Ok. If you say so, but with the stocks, gels, purées and reductions it more than nods to Escoffier and French haute cuisine cooking techniques. My main was salmon based, with deep fried rissoles stuffed with fine chopped mushrooms, puy lentils, steamed sprouting greens and some of the greens lightly battered and fried tempura style. Again everything on the plate was tasty. Desserts were glorious bar one. My wife and I shared the dark chocolate, cherry and honeycomb and wow. Chocolate heaven enhanced with the whole cherry and honeycomb piece. The peanut butter based pie too was light, delicate and very tasty but a tad more salt would lift it much more. After these two big hitters the rhubarb and custard trifle was disappointing. It is a vegetable treated like a fruit. It didn't wow, it had no sharpness, it was more like a gel and it was not the thump of taste that rhubarb can easily deliver. Even the custard was meh. I doubt I'd go for it again. Staff were delightful; the (£5) beers were tasty, the wine a generous pour (£5.25) but the (£7) gin of the week was weak, overly ice cubed, watery and generally diluted way out of balance. So next time we must double the gin measure and reduce the quantity of ice and mixer. Their cappuccino (£3) was very tasty too. I hope it's not too long before we return here. It was 4c as we left under the bright moon and as we were out in the country side the stars were noticeable.

For dessert we had the pear crumble, burnt cream of the day (coffee) and the sticky toffee pudding mini desserts. Great place to have lunch, it was quiet, service was friendly - though there was a looooong wait between courses and we ended up in a bit of a time crunch to get the child from school - but it was absolutely delicious, a great wee find tucked away. I imagine Christmas time here would be lovely

First and foremost it's so humble, what do I mean by that? Well the road it's situated on is a tight country road with a generous speed limit, so it's easy to zip by the sign with hardly anytime for a glance. If you do make a conscious effort to stop, you will find the most quintessential Irish country pub / restaurant near Belfast, and it seems to give the impression it's doing this without even trying. It's classically decorated and peppered with pictures of Belfast in a bygone era, so you have plenty to catch your eye. If stopping for food you could be in for a treat as we were offered a table beside a beautiful open fire. (Continually stoked by the staff). This really set a great mood for a cozy and relaxed Sunday lunch, which, by the way, was delicious! Thanks to a bad signal for the card machine, I was asked to go downstairs to the bar and pay. This turned out to be very difficult, as I was so tempted to sit down have a drink, and enjoy the rest of the afternoon! Clearer heads prevailed though and I was soon on my way back to my well fed family. But.... next time I'll be making sure I'm not the one who has to drive home!!

Creed is surrounded by glass walls so you can see inside the relaxed and tastefully decorated shop as you drive past, however the lighting inside is muted so you can see everything comfortable without it being intrusive. I finally visited for a cup of tea with a friend about 6 weeks after it opened, and the experience was great. In the area where the shop is, there are two other businesses, a flooring shop and a pizza takeaway. There is enough parking to cover the three as long as things don't get too busy, and it's a short walk from the front door. We got a seat no problem when we arrived, and got served straight away. I just had the berry tea which came served in an infuser, and it was beautiful, my friend had a coffee. We didn't eat this time, but I saw a fantastic range of pastries, tray-bakes and sandwich options, so will definitely make a point of going back for food soon, particularly as I follow them on Facebook, and the salads they post up look absolutely divine! They also have some really comfy leather couches, great if you aren't in a rush and want to just chill out and watch the world go by.
