    So reasonable!

This place is glorious! The food is quality, delicious, and budget friendly. We breakfast here everyday. The Ulster Fry is absolutely delicious! However, my very favorite item I would get every day (2x today) is the heavenly bagel! The bagels are sooo good! Plump and soft -the heavenly bagel had a slice of ham/bacon, cream cheese, lettuce and tomato. Now, this seems relatively simple -but the combination of the softly toasted fresh bagel, the smokey meat, and the decadent cream cheese -out of this world! Finally, I didn't have their salted Carmel muffin until the last day (included in our to-go lunch). Holy hell -the best muffin I've ever had! So freakishly amazingly good -my husband even said "wow" -and he never says "wow". If you stay at the hostel next door (fantastic lodgings), it is easy access. I'm skimpy with 5 stars -but this place deserved it for quality, price, and deliciousness! The only con is that it is only open until 2pm!

Simple food, we had a basic breakfast. The waffle maker was down so I think we missed out.

We ate our dessert here and we drank a wonderful drink made with Copeland gin called Gimlet. Nice pub. I can't speak on the menu because we only had the Guinness chocolate cake. The service was great. We climbed a lot of stairs even to go to the restroom. So be aware of that. I would come back the next time I'm in Belfast.

Hence the name, it used to be an actual jail. According to the website, its dog friendly. I didn't see any dogs there, but it's nice to know that it's an option. Great atmosphere to it. I appreciated the lovely, fresh flowers on our table. The Jailhouse has a rooftop/ upstairs area too. It was a vibe of laughs and hen parties galore! There were at least two hen parties being celebrated here on this Friday night in June. The bathrooms seemed like a trek to get to. They are not on the main floor with the bar area, so I gave up. I ordered something called the Pimm's (UK gin based liqueur) Spritz. It was a bit strong for my taste, so my sister in law finished it for me. The music selection in the background was great, albeit a little loud, but its a good place for locals and tourists alike.

The entrance is small, and across from some sort of loading bay or something. But worth stopping in. Once inside, the space opens up and is very welcoming. I ordered the green eggs on toast, and it was delicious (the sausages are an add-on, and in hindsight was unnecessary). The poach was perfect, and that green sauce is divine! But... I hope you brought some dental floss or a toothpick, because you will surely have embarrassing green bits stuck in your teeth otherwise. Top quality brekkie! The OJ tasted fresh with bits of pulp in it (although they do pour it from a jug in their fridge) and the latte is of a good quality. Not busy on a Monday morning. Staff friendly, and chatty with some of the delivery people, who I assume they see on a regular basis. If in Belfast for an extended period of time, would not hesitate to dine here again.

There was a great selection of savory and sweet. I had poached eggs on sourdough. My friend had the French Toast, and it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. There was fuzzy stuff on the French toast that looked like asbestos or fiberglass. It was not, it was soft and sweet, but it sure looked odd. The poached eggs on sourdough with pesto was amazing. I also got a side of bacon. It was perfection. There is a cool little shop too. If I am back in Belfast, I'll be sure to stop back.

Today (3/11/16) I choose a daily special of spicy pinto-bean quesadilla with Swiss cheese, dressed side salad and coleslaw. The food was immense; fresh, filling, delicious and moreish. Service was brisk and cost excellent at circa £5 for my meal plus a bottle of mineral water. Grapevine's major drawback is the size, it's a very small cafe with few seats. Ambience is relaxed and there's some seriously cool soul music playing in the background. I will definitely return, but only outside of the hectic lunchtime rush hour.

This puts me in a good position to critique it in relation to the others. The positives of Grapevine are there for all to see, it is in an excellent central location for both office workers and hungry shoppers. It also has brilliant outside seating. Smokers will feel welcome, as each table is equipped with an ashtray, which is actually something you don't see too often these days. Inside they have Special Boards literally crammed full of delicious lunch options. Whitebean Stew and Homemade bread caught my eye and it's definitely something I'm going to try on my next visit, provided it hasn't been scrubbed off the specials board. I love the seating set up inside; they have those big high benches with stools that face out and you can sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a coffee, bit of fruit or a hearty stew. Overall I think the Grapevine is an endearing wee café, it's got everything you want from a city center food shack - beaut grub and a relaxing set up, I'll be back that's for sure.
