I've stayed at several Courtyard Marriots for business and this is by fast my favorite one. Hotel is very clean and updated. It's in a great location next to the rail and many restaurants within walking distance. Staff and Service was excellent! Room: the room was small but efficient. The room included a microwave, mini fridge and coffeemaker. A large closet, with desk, single sofa bed, the bathroom included all bath and shower amenities and a hairdryer. Food/Bar: I only had breakfast here but it was delicious, I ordered the omelet with marinated tomatoes. The lobby restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner and the bar is open nightly. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay here!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful on the check-in. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, I got some good sleep in here for real!! The room had a refrigerator and a microwave, which is always a huge plus for me. And even though this isn't a high rise hotel, I was on the 5th floor facing the Puget Sound and had a pretty good view. I do like how they won't clean your room unless you request it, that way you can sleep in. I also like this location in Downtown Tacoma. I'd stay here again in a minute!!

If you have the option to stay either at the Marriott Courtyard or the one across the street which is the Marriott Tacoma Downtown, the Courtyard is my pick! I was so bummed when I booked it because my conference hotel was the other one and I thought I was going to be missing out. But the Marriott Courtyard did not disappoint! It's walking distance from a lot of restaurants and tourist attractions. The hotel was very clean and staff was friendly. I loved being able to get coffee in the morning from their coffee station, you purchase a cup for the day. If I ever come back to Tacoma, I'm staying at the Marriott Courtyard!

Blood in the bed my fiancé and I were provided with.

I do not recommend staying here. After a long journey and being up for 36 hours my fiancé and I were about to go to sleep around 8 pm when we found blood all over the sheets and it was more then clear that someone had bleed through the sheets because there were stains in the same place on two sheets. The attendants working moved our room so we could get some rest and the second room had dirty sheets again. At this point we were so exhausted that we had them change the sheets and we went to bed. The manager was absolutely useless and had no clue there was an issue until I was checking out. She refused to fix the situation and I'm now trying to contact her superiors. I will never be staying at a Marriott hotel ever again. If you do stay here I hope Bora didn't clean your room...

Let's start with the parking lot, which appears to have been designed exclusively for clown cars or perhaps very optimistic compact vehicles. If you're driving anything larger than a shoebox, prepare for a thrilling game of "will this fit," followed by a graceful 17-point turn. The rooms are described as comfortable, which I assume is hospitality code for "cozy if you don't inhale too deeply." Spacious is not a word I would use unless we are comparing it to a broom closet. Now, if you enjoy saunas but wish they came without consent, you're in luck. My heater was stuck at a steady 78 degrees day and night, turning my room into a tropical retreat I never asked for. To their credit, they did move me... to a room where I could enjoy the next feature. Trains. Loud, proud, earth-shaking trains. All day. All night. Not "in the distance" trains, but "is there a locomotive in my hallway" trains. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're sleeping directly on a railroad track, this is your moment. There is technically a water view, which sounds lovely until you realize the parking lot sits right below your window. So when you open the blinds, you're not just enjoying the scenery, you're starring in it. Breakfast was... ambitious. I would have gladly paid extra for something edible, or at least something that didn't feel like it lost a fight with a microwave. After working a very long night, I thought maybe, just maybe, there'd be a small gesture of goodwill like a late checkout. Instead, I was told they had 68 checkouts that day, which apparently made flexibility impossible. No apology, no acknowledgment of the sauna experience, no effort to make it right. Just a firm "time to go." All things considered, I'd rate this stay somewhere between a 1 and a 2 out of 5. I won't be returning, and consider this your friendly warning: if you stay here, bring a small car, earplugs, and a strong sense of humor.

The hotel interior is absolutely beautiful and serene - sophisticated and colorful art graces each hallway. The lobby is spacious and comforting. The location is primetime Tacoma, walking distance to the convention center (1 block), Pantages Theater/Rialto Theater (2 blocks) and many restaurants. I actually think if they updated their *exterior* it would take this hotel to a 5 star hotel. It seems a bit dated outside, but walking inside is a breath of fresh air! The room was clean and updated. Housekeeping was done daily (we stayed for 3 nights) and top notch. Gym was good.. 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a bike, a full free weights rack and two other machines, 1 weight bench. Each time I went to the gym, I was alone, so thumbs up from me for accessibility. *Runners know, however... the treadmills were on a 0.5-1.0 incline which is pretty much death. :) Not sure if it's the floor or the treadmills themselves, but they're both on a slight hill. Parking was easy, and they provided a nightly discount for our conference! Thank you to Hotel Murano and their manager for this. Beautiful place, great location, good price - would definitely stay here again.

We immediately inspected the mattresses and contacted the front desk. The staff offered to move us to another room, but after thoroughly checking our room and finding no additional bugs or signs of infestation, we still felt uneasy about the possibility that another room could be worse. Given the late hour and the difficulty of finding another hotel, we decided to remain awake in the room until daylight. We carefully rechecked the entire room and, thankfully, found no more evidence of infestation. We also thoroughly inspected all of our belongings and temporarily moved them to the bathroom while waiting for the front desk manager to arrive. I'm honestly not sure which would be worse--a tick or a bed bug. If it was a tick, does that mean the sheets weren't changed? Update -- March 4, 2026 (approx. 6:00 PM): When I spoke with the front desk staff around 2:30 AM and again at approximately 6:30 AM, I was told that the manager would be reaching out to me. I returned to the front desk around 8:00 AM and spoke with another staff member, who informed me that the manager, Anthony, had not arrived yet. I requested that he call me back. As of 5:47 PM, I have still not been contacted by anyone from Hotel Murano. However, I was charged over $222 for the night, despite this being the worst hotel experience we have ever had.

My husband and I started a tradition a few years ago where we nixed Christmas presents and decided to book 2-3 day vacations instead. With this being our belated gift to each other, we knew we wanted to splurge. I'm fully convinced there isn't a room here that has a bad view. We had sweeping views of the water and once the fog lifted in the morning, it was gorgeous! I did receive an email detailing where to park. I didn't really read it very closely, and let me tell you it was stressful finding parking near the hotel! All the spots near the hotel were taken and we drove up and down the streets looking for parking. At first, we were going to park down a ways, in a neighborhood. But it seemed too far to lug our luggage. So one more try..and someone just vacated a spot close to the hotel in one of those spots that is back in parking only. Okay, for me that is stressful trying to back into a spot with traffic coming towards me! Finally, I was parked and told that my vehicle should be fine during our stay. We arrived 2 hours early. I got in line behind a couple, they were given a room. When it was my turn, my room wasn't yet available. No problem. They stowed our luggage, they had my phone number to text when my room became available. We went to the restaurant to eat lunch and start getting our passports stamped. It was typical McMenamins food. We went to other bars to get stamps, and we got to one of the bars right before 2 and was told that if we went down to the Spanish ballroom, there was a tour starting at 2 that we could get the stamp without buying a ticket. How very fortunate! The ballroom is beautiful! Shortly after that, we had all our stamps. We went to sit in the lobby to wait for our room to become available. One of the front desk clerks came to ask our name to check our room. She did not come back. Next thing I know, the check in rush arrived! Everyone got their rooms! Finally, I just got up and got in line and was given a room. The room was nice. Wished there was a fridge and microwave. Never turned the TV on. We were on the 7th floor and had a cool view of the atrium on the 6th floor. There's coffee on the 6th floor in the morning. Also, in the lobby. It's a fun place to visit. But we paid over $300 for one night. $275 plus taxes and fees. I would never stay here again based on my parking experience alone.
