I typically stay at this hotel whenever I'm in this area. It's not the newest hotel, but it's clean and the small gym is great. I'm a huge fan of the gym. People rarely use the gym and the AC is on full blast in there when it's hot. Rooms are pretty quiet for the most part, although a bit dated. The bistro in the lobby has sufficient offerings for breakfast or dinner - otherwise you can dine elsewhere. read more

Decent rooms. Comfortable bed. $5 parking fee is ridiculous. Not covered. No visible security. Literally no reason to charge $5.10 a night to park my car on their asphalt. No one at the desk mentioned it. But it is in the small print of the parking permit. Also.... there is a sign in the hallway that has etched lettering on the 3rd floor that says "poo/whirlpoo" Can't believe that no one has caught the misspelling. Absolutely dirty property that fails to clean the rooms properly. At check in, my rooms carpet had some type of crumbs that remained the duration of my unpleasant two days stay. At check in, as I always do, I requested a full room cleaning, needless to say, that never happened and I was forced to call the front desk each day, just to receive towels. I did have an unpleasant conversation with the hotels incompetent GM Eric, what a poor excuse for a manager. Eric immediately went on a diatribe telling me that NO hotels have gone back to daily cleaning service, which in completely not true. I explained to this genius that I stay at Marriott properties in various states weekly and his lame excuse was far from the truth. Do yourself a favor don't stay at this hotel unless you like staying in a filthy places read more

I just checked into my hotel after having to drive over 30min from the airport. When I arrived I was informed that my reservation was switched from a king size bed to a double bed. I questioned how could you do this without making me aware. The representative told me, "well due to your bonvoy rewards status nothing is final and reservatiins are subject to change". I stated no one emails or calls to notify customers of these changes anymore or do I need a certain bonvoy status to be given a little customer service or decency. I have been a marriott customer for over 25 years. This is outrageous. I am traveling more for work. Maybe now I should start giving hilton my business based on this experience. The marriott hotels themselves are not changing at all in the last 26 years but their hospitality and questionable policies and bonvoy rewards etc definitely is and not for the better. My greeting at the front desk by the representative could have had a bit more energy and warm welcome. read more

This is not the place for the business or family minded traveler hoping to get a quick continental breakfast heading out the door; unless you want to pay on top of your nearly $200.00 a night price. The Hotel was quiet, accompanied by dated 'window' based HVAC systems and yes, 70's/80's based popcorn ceilings. The bed was certainly comfortable, cellphone linked T.V.'s and walk in showers with sub valued water pressure. The in-room personal coffee pot maker was questionable for cleanliness, so if you have to head to work or catch a flight early, forget trying to get an early breakfast here, the 'breakfast bar' doesn't consider opening up UNTIL 07:00! Ridiculous... The way to make this better is to head down the road 2 minutes to a round the clock Denny's for a delish meal. The couch was comfortable, as well as the nicely available pull out mini tables for the couch and desk area. Want a water? $5.00. Didn't think I was at a NFL game, but for nearly $200.00 a night, I'd expect reasonably priced, if not a complimentary water since you can't grab breakfast here in a timely manner. When they are open, the meal choices are a bit over priced, but kudos to the pleasant demographics and atmosphere. Free WiFi and a tiny treadmill room, not sure about the functionality of the pool in November for this review. One small note to add, there were two massively filled trash bags (two doors away) on our hallway present when we checked in by 5:30p.m. - and was STILL there by 09:00 the next morning...? Not really a bad hotel per se, but for the price, I'm not sure it meets my goal for what you're paying for. I'd sincerely suggest to Management to take a look at the pricing, staffing and timelines of operations here; there are better options out there in the immediate area for sure. read more

During our wedding weekend we were able to block some rooms here for friends and family to stay! They were able to schedule a shuttle to and from our venue at stonebridge. We would definitely recommend the Courtyard to anyone considering it. read more

Horrible hotel Room stinks like cat liter. No luggage holders. When we asked, front desk said "that's old school. Just put your suitcase on table" right. A room that sleeps 4. That will work! Parking is a joke. Ball park on property. They block hotel lot with cones. We drove thru them. As discussed most people going to game. NO parking security and they didn't ask my license # so no way for them to tell. Had to park long way away. Worried about security Noise from ballpark wS awful! Fridge barely holds 2 water bottles and no freezer for cold packs. Will never stay here again and will think twice about ANY courtyard property. Holiday inn much better read more

Customer service needs improvement. The hallways & some general areas were dirty. Room seemed fine other than a small stain on the comforter. They do not provide free coffee or breakfast, instead, they have a Starbucks in the lobby where you can purchase. How unoriginal, Starbuck's are everywhere. The option to purchase bistro type food & drinks is a nice feature. However, I still expect to have the option to grab some free coffee & basic breakfast items. read more

Had a really crappy experience the night before at another Marriott where my car was vandalized. The staff (Tanesha I think) here made my day better as soon as I checked in. We get it that this Marriott is under renovations however our room smelled smoky, our refrigerator still had food in it and the only thing we could get to work on the tv was our Netflix. We tried to make calls but our phone Jack was out of the wall (see pic). Even after maintenance came up to fix it (while we were not in the room) it still would not work. We are Titanium for life elite and we were still charged $5/night for parking. No free breakfast (had I known this we would've stayed at a different Marriott). I'm sure once the renovations are done it might look nicer but I'm not sure we'd be willing to stay here again. Too bad as Marriott is our go-to hotels and we'll be back in Phoenix/Mesa regularly. read more

Stood here for two days and our room was great, located on the second floor and right next to the elevator. Easy access in and out. Staff was polite enough to not knock on our door as we had placed our do not disturb sign for two days. Bed was very firm, way firmer then most beds I have slept on, kinda ok but my back was so stiff on day two. The bathroom was spacious and so was the room. Large king size bed, sofa, coffee table and desk to work on. Good size tv and dresser. Place was clean and plenty of parking and I felt very safe staying here. read more

BEWARE BRIDES PLANNING A WEDDING I wanted to contract here for my wedding given the free shuttle to my wedding venue. I toured the hotel and was told that if there were two weddings booked on the same day the first couple to sign got priority. I was told that another couple had a contract outstanding but had not yet signed and had the contract in hand for a while. I asked if I could sign the contract the day I toured and they said yes. Upon emailing them, they said they would get the contract to me Monday. I was then sent an email on Monday and said they were not able to get the contract to me until Tuesday due to an admin backlog. On Tuesday morning I then get an email that the other couple signed their contract just that morning. It was a total bait and switch. I emailed them and requested that they cover a shuttle for us given this was a bait and switch. They refused. This hotel's customer service handled this completely unprofessionally. I would urge any bride looking to book this hotel for her wedding guests not to do it. Shame! read more

Pretty solid stay and good value. Hotel staff was friendly. Room was clean. Nothing special but gets the job done. Fitness center was nice. Computers with printer are available (used to print boarding pass). There is a little cafe area in lobby. Plenty of surrounding food options. Marriott never lets me down. read more

Stayed here 3 days. Easy access from the freeway without the freeway noise. Room was okay, one light wasn't working. Bed was fine, AC worked, although it was loud. The cleanliness wasn't what I expect from a Marriott property. The headboard had fingerprints and headprints on it, the back of the door was very dirty with fingerprints. We watched a piece of a wrapper sit on the floor in the hallway for two days before it was picked up. I knew about the parking fee, but there was a tax on the parking fee itself as well. Also a telephone tax (which we didn't use) and a data tax, which I didn't see on the list of taxes charged when I was looking for a room. What started out as a reasonably priced hotel turned out to be more than I bargained for. I don't think I'll stay here the next time I visit family in Mesa. read more

A solid four stars. This is super close to Hohokam stadium for all you baseball Spring Training nerds. Despite the remodeling there were clear signs of where to enter and park. The night and day concierge staff were helpful and friendly. The first floor was surprisingly quiet considering all the foot traffic. I was near the conference rooms and did not really hear anything during the time I stayed. The room itself was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I opted for minimum room service (you get 250 points if you are a Marriot club member). The second to last day the trashcans were emptied and the room was spotless. I also appreciated the fact that there is a sanitizer wipe to clean off the TV remote. This location has limited options for breakfast and lunch (but there are lots of options nearby if you want a full breakfast). The Starbucks coffee was decent. Plenty of parking and easy access to gas station, food etc. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Solid Marriott. I was in town for business, so I only saw the hotel late at night. There is a bar call Boulders across the street for you to get food after everything else is closed. The thermostat had a fan setting which kept the room awash in white noise, so sleeping was easy. read more

I stayed at this Courtyard while on a business trip for one night. As I do with all of my hotel reviews, I'll review every aspect that actually means something to me. Location: Was easy to find. It is located in a quiet area. No surrounding construction or industrial sites. Check-in: Was very fast. There was a small line at first and then someone came out from the back room to accomodate those of us waiting. The check-in process was fast, but the employee directed me down the wrong hallway to get to my room. No big deal. Everyone makes mistakes. She was holding the map backwards I guess. The room: Noise pollution: Next to none. Inside my room I could not hear a thing coming from outside the room with the exception of the occasional person leaving their room (I'll never understand why they don't install springs on the doors so that they don't slam shut). Given, I was here on a slow night. There were no kids that I could tell. And my neighbors, if there were any, were extremely quiet. Cleanliness: As to expect from Courtyard, my room was immaculate. Odour: There was none. The air in my room was fresh and clean. Temperature: The air conditioner worked perfectly. I like my room 70 or lower. I set it for 70, my room was 70. The AC wasn't noisy or smelly or anything of the sort. Humidity was perfect. As a reference, it was a 75 degree day. Comfort: The bed was fairly comfortable. There may have been some slight mattress sag because I kind of rolled around a lot during the night. But, I roll around a lot anyway. The pillows were OK, though I am VERY picky when it comes to pillows. Even my pillows at home are just OK. Convenience: My room was 2 doors from the side exit and that is where I parked. Can't get any better than that, really. There is a refrigerator in the room which is always convenient to have. And mine happened to be absolutely silent. Not a sound came from that cabinet the whole night. In fact, I think I forgot it was even there because I left a half a sandwich in there ;P Internet was blazing fast. Was able to do whatever surfing and work I needed without noticing any slowdown. TV: This is where the last star comes off. The bed must face the TV. The bed must face the TV. Repeat after me. The bed must face the TV. ATTENTION: HOTEL ROOM DESIGNERS: THE BED MUST FACE THE TV. Having to watch TV with your head turned --- SUCKS. Why is it that hardly any hotel can get this right? Maybe I'm in the wrong line of business. I should be a hotel room designer. Shower: Water pressure is phenominal in this hotel and the water is as hot as you want it to be. Breakfast: Unlike other Courtyards I've been to where they have a breakfast buffet, this one was counter service. Though the seating arrangements were very favorable. There is a bar where you can eat and use your computer -- and plug in for charging, and the tables are large enough to work without charging. The breakfast itself was made to order. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, home fries (the home fries were excellent). Average price - 10 bucks. They serve Starbucks coffee which is separate from the breakfast order but when I asked the guy if coffee was included he said he would take care of it. Honestly though, I'm not sure why they didn't go the buffet route. It's usually the same price, and we'd have more choices. I always stay at Courtyards if I can, and I always will in the future. Occasionally you come across a bad one but for me it has been rare. When you calculate the price to quality ratio, they just can't be beaten. read more

Well this was just an average hotel, nothing crazy or a wowsers experience to tell you. Now I gave it a 2 star for reasons such as: They had fruit in the complimentary water served in the lobby, that was cool. The pool usage had no time posted, however did notify us of otel quiet time because since Mesa, AZ was CRAZZZY hot during the day who wants to swim then, but at night when there is no sun but temps were still at 101 degrees. That was cool too. The check in guy was very nice and had a room already set since my cousin had checked in the day before and RSVP a room next to him YAY, however I went to the lobby to buy a treat and the lady was very short and uninterested in my conversation of hotel and made me feel I was disturbing her when I asked to buy something. A big UH-UH!! Although my room was neat and clean, what hotel wouldn't clean right?! It was an average stay but I seriously HAVE experience better, but for a chain like Marriott I should have had a better experience. Minus the kids running around on my floor it was OK! read more

Book Marriott.com, package with breakfast if you want that at Courtyard, not priceline, etc. Only Gold & platinum rewards members get free breakfast at courtyard, unless you book that room rate package including breakfast. People stop complaining when you book thru priceline. Use marriott.com. guaranteed lowest rates and join marriott rewards online too. This is not a newer hotel, it looks worse for wear. We are not real comfortable here, as we are used to a more upscale or newer Courtyard. Bathroom is small, carpets are worn, elevator has some issues. I wouldn't come back. read more

Do not stay here I am in town for the marathon and apparently there are some youth sports events where the kids have no adult leadership They were running up and the halls up to 2 am I asked the management could I move rooms so that I could sleep.and was.told that they would offer ear plugs I was beyond shocked! !!!!!!! I asked for quiet area.when I checked in and the clerk must have though I wanted the party zone I am a rewards member and refuse to ever stay at another Courtyard When I check out in a couple hours I will tell the person at the desk but expect to get a robotic answer There are so many other options pick somewhere else read more

I'm a loyal Marriott girl and will always choose a Marriott hotel over another if possible. I've stayed at multiple Courtyard locations and they are usually very nice, clean, and comfortable. This location is no exception. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of a higher rating is for the following reasons: 1) the building is older and it shows (mostly in the corridors and room entrance). You can tell there was a recent remodel done and that was done very well. The lobbies and common areas are very nice, rooms are comfortable. You can just tell its older in some spots. Not a deal breaker, this is simply in comparison to other courtyard properties. 2) when we checked in the younger girl working at the front desk. DEFINITELY needed to brush up on her customer service skills. She was not rude but looked at me like I was crazy a couple of times when I asked questions about our stay (that were very obvious questions/answers, nothing out of the ordinary). She seemed like she needed more training and also the hotel was very short staffed so that may have been part of it. This happens on a couple of different occasions with the same person. I do want to note that most people we encountered (especially in the bistro/lobby area) were super helpful and kind. The food is also decent. I am not sure I would hurry back if there was another Marriott option that was convenient and in the same price range. read more

I had the chance to stay at the Courtyard Phoenix Mesa this week and when Angela Fernando, Guest Experience Expert, was checking me in she told me it was my 4 year anniversary as a member of Bonvoy. I jokingly asked if there was a party hat that went with that and she said maybe. A few hours later I received a wonderful party package delivered to me room from Angela with goodies and a very nice hand made party hat. Thank you, Angela, for a great Marriott stay. In additon to the excellent customer service, the Courtyard was very nice, the room was clean and pleasant. I had a chance to use the treadmill in the fitness room and everything was clean and in working order. Overall a great stay. read more

Pool hours end at 11 and they asked us to leave at 10. They claimed we were being loud and that too many people were in the pool and too much noise was going on. Other families were yelling and being louder than we actually were. We were just in the jacuzzi trying to enjoy ourselves. They claimed that they were closing the area, and only asked OUR group of friends to leave and then allowed other groups of people to stay. These people were drinking and having conversation amongst each other just like we were. We were just trying to enjoy our stay here but unfortunately, that didn't happen. The customer service was awful and they were disrespectful. No towels in the pool area as well. Overall experience was disappointing. read more

Am usually a Hilton guest but in town for a funeral and parents booked the rooms. Has been years since I stayed at a Courtyard and was pretty pleased. Walked in and front desk very professional, had room keys ready for us and explained all features of hotel. When walking in there is a 60' tv on the wall with updates on news, stocks etc which is nice. Front of hotel is also all restaurant, coffee and bar. Individual booths have tv's, lots of seating and nice views of courtyard area and pool. Room nice, standard, clean etc. No microwave but fridge worked well. Needed xtra blanket and guest services up in just a few minutes. Cofee selection all Starbucks oriented and the barista made a great macchiato which I enjoyed in the cactus garden. Staff super friendly, decent pool and gym, solid rooms and great coffee. Ideal for fellow biz travelers! read more

My husband and I stayed the night, just one night, on a Sunday and it was FABULOUS!! The customer service was excellent!! The room was very clean and tidy! The price point was great(AAA discount of $10) which included a nice choice of breakfast items that were excellent and delicious and available to go!! We were very pleased! We will be staying at Courtyard Marriott again in the future. We have stayed at the competition and tried to save money and you really do get what you pay for! Thank you Marriott!! read more
