How was I billed $250 if the receipt is $220.89?

I stayed in this hotel on Wednesday the 25th. On Saturday the 28th they charged my account $250. Which was funny because my boss paid for the hotel. I called and talked with Asia, she said the account was charged in error. When I questioned this; julie said; "I couldn't care less" and hung up I called back and asked for a receipt. The receipt said $220.89. (See photo). After I received the $229.89 receipt... I called back and asked why they charged me $250 even. Again, asia hung up. (See photo) I called back and was told the manager would be in at 2:00 and he could refund the charges... then julie hung up. (This seemed funny since my boss already paid). At 2:00 manager was a no show. At 2:30 manager was a no show. At 3:00 manager was a no show. At 3:24 I was told "manager called in... You need to wait till Monday". Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. So I asked; why do I need to wait 3 days? Answer; no one else can do it. Then Asia hung up That means; I have to wait 3 days (plus the 7-10 days) To get MY money back. It seems funny to me that: 1. I was billed after the room was paid for 2. If the bill is $220.89 why charge me $250 3. Is the entire team in on this scam? So I called corporate... There response was; Wait 3 days to talk to a manager then wait the 7-10 days to get your money back. Does this seem fair?

We didn't stay here! pictures on their website looked great, creative photographer. My husband uses the phrase "lipstick on a pig", well I think he nailed it. Upon arrival I asked to view the room first and she told me I could only see the room after completing my reservation. I should have taken the hint and left. We had dinner reservations and need to freshen up so we registered. Stating that she would have to have the maid re clean the room if we entered it and didn't stay. We had to wait about fifteen minutes for her friend to go and inspect the room before we could occupy it, mind you it was 4:30 in the afternoon! The lobby has been remodeled and has a bistro that looks really clean and modern. Only problem is they aren't open and she informed us that there is a grab and go breakfast bag down there for the morning. Blamed covid protocols for the closure. However, all of the restaurants in the area are fully open. Anyway back to the room, we requested a suite with two queen beds well it was a suite with two double beds. The bathroom was not adjacent to the bedroom but however was out the door and around the corner???? The carpet was nasty the room smelled like cheap air freshener had been dumped on the floor, drapes were old and nasty. Furniture was ok'd and dated upholstery was dirty.....I'm done grabbed the cart and went back down the hall and to the elevator which is located the farthest point from the registration desk so we got to see all the going on's. All of the rooms with open doors as the maids were cleaning were in the same shape. When you get off the elevator to the front desk area you feel like your at a different property. I explained to the clerk that we would not be staying there and she responded "what's wrong" I told her she knew what's wrong and that was why she wouldn't let me view the room first, she repeated her covid comment and I told her not to worry the only thing we touched was the door knob. I asked for a copy of my bill to make sure she wasn't going to charge me and she said the computer won't generate that but I will get my 750$ hold taken off in 3-5 business days. Ridiculous, but if it doesn't come off I will call American Express and challenge the charge. Perhaps Marriott needs to have yearly inspections of their brand to make sure that properties are up to their standard so we do t waste an hour and have to find another property to stay for the next week

For he next month, this is my home away from home. As usual the Courtyard by Marriott doesn't disappoint. Their early check in is perfect for the business traveler working late nights. This particular location has a nice lobby and bistro area where can lounge and have a drink. They also have worked out a deal with Anytime Fitness to where you can work out there for $5 a day. That's a pretty good deal! Let's talk about my room. I walk in and temp is perfect at 73. The walk-in shower was so refreshing and had plenty of room. The king size bed was soooo comfortable, that I slept like a baby. The balcony is a perfect touch, especially for early morning reading. All of this greatness for under $100. WOW!!!!

    The entertainment center.

Came into the lobby and was waiting to be helped by the associate who was on the phone troubleshooting someone who was overcharged in his card. That threw up some flags and concerns. Then the associate was not very helpful because he could not give me a room with a microwave which was possible even though the room was booked through Expedia. Nevertheless he provided access to the common microwave on the lobby where one can buy breakfast between 6:30 to 10:30 am. So far so okay. Outside is interesting but the inside was as good as it gets. Everything worked. Less toiletries but nothing that is starkly unjust. Good for an overnight stay. Okay for family stay especially with the tons of places to eat around.

Pretty sure this is not something that just happened! Almost impossible to not run over it. Fix it!

This should actually be a Motel 6 and not allowed to carry the Hilton name. The carpets were filthy, there were cobwebs and what looked like grass clippings splayed on the curtain valance. No money has been spent on this property - clearly, and they're just milking it for every cent from the horse community. Cold/lukewarm shower with ZERO water pressure. It took me a good 5 minutes to get my shampoo rinsed out. A baby roach crawled out of the sink hole when I turned on water to brush my teeth. No amenities except a well worn packet that said "makeup remover" (LOL I'm not putting that on my face!!!) and the Hilton "Zero" refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that no one uses...unless they're desperate. I'm not expecting L'occitane, but I'm not touching that... The WORST PART that they don't tell you - you're feet from the interstate with a SECOND service road used by 18 wheelers racing through the night, mere steps away from where you're trying to sleep. This place was a nightmare. Breakfast included rotten bananas, and nothing looked clean or fresh. So, I went to Publix to buy breakfast. Filthy, no sleep, and twice the price of a beachfront Hilton...go ANYWHERE else.

As a loyal Hilton customer, I have always appreciated the flexibility and understanding that the brand has shown its members. However, it is disheartening to learn that in this instance, over a charge of $234, there seems to be no room for flexibility. This decision seems to undermine the loyalty that Hilton has built with its customers over the years. Such rigidity can tarnish the Hilton brand and potentially erode customer loyalty, which I believe is far more valuable than the monetary amount in question.

First....the grounds are beautiful, well maintained and vast. Upon arrival there's a choice of valet or self-park just out front. Before you can even get to the door someone has rushed to open it and greet you warmly. In fact, 1 guy was there at noon when we arrived and still there at 9pm. Even at 9pm he was still hustling, smiling and putting in just as much effort as he was many hrs earlier. The excellence of staff continued beyond the doormen. Every single staff member we encountered was equally engaged, acknowledged guests, was friendly and was genuinely competent at their job. SO refreshing!! We never saw any of the staff on their phones or busy talking with each other. The work ethic & polish this hotel expects from staff is obvious, appreciated & makes an impact on how we felt as guests. Upon entry, the lobby is gorgeous! Pristine, classy yet inviting. Loved the player piano & large fireplace. There were even some really lovely olive wood crosses available at the front desk, which was an especially nice touch over Easter. Often when a lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a let down. Not here! I didn't see any areas that were in need of attention. Our room felt incredibly clean - no missed corners, grimy spots, etc. It was immaculate and so welcoming...oh, and the room was really really big...and so comfortable. There was a large 2 door closet as well as a smaller closet for our child to use and appreciated having 3 suitcase holders that could fit into the closets so we didn't have to look at them in the room. The chairs in the room were actually comfortable to sit in and made sense with their location. Beds were wonderful and I might have to get 1 of their pillows as it was the first night in awhile that my neck hasn't hurt. Winning! The chocolates by the bedside were a fun treat, particularly the lemon truffle. The next key takeaway from this hotel is how clean it is everywhere. Already mentioned the lobby & rooms, but were out by the arena after the candy shop had closed and the person cleaning had all chairs completely off the floor, rug rolled up and outside and was cleaning like they wanted it to shine. My husband immediately noted that's a sign that someone actually taught the person how they wanted it cleaned rather than just asking them to clean. Big difference. Seriously - I could write a novel about this hotel/property and how great it was. Dog portraits line the walls and halls. There's a small patisserie (large one in the Manor, which you also need to explore), toy shop, bar, restaurant and shops to explore. You MUST stop at the patisserie - fresh, beautiful. We grabbed some items in a lovely box to take home as a gift. We also had breakfast at Stirrups and fully recommend dining here. It was wonderful and blew away all the "best" restaurants in Ocala. Our fruit platter was customizable, came with pink pineapple slices (!) and dragon fruit bits. The 3 egg omelet was the size of a 6 egg omelet and had more beautifully cooked bacon than one could hope. While filling our water glasses the pitcher dripped a couple times. Love that our server was right there with her towel to notice every detail. Beyond the really delicious food and outstanding service, we loved watching the horses warming up in the arena outside, looking around at the many dog portraits in the room and relaxing in the large leather chairs. HUGE shout out to the management staff! It's obvious the leadership here has expectations, does comprehensive training with staff and is actively engaged in ensuring the quality of the hotel. Is The Equestrian Hotel more expensive than the other hotel on site or hotels closer to town - yes, but it's so worth it and we would happily pay a higher price to stay here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat!! We can't wait to return!

First off, even finding it is a little odd- the "entrance" is in the back of the building and not at all obvious like most hotel entrances are. There's also hardly any on site parking. It's a small lot that cost like $20 and isn't even guaranteed you get a spot. Otherwise, you have to park in the parking garage that's kiddie-corner to the hotel and walk all the way over. It's inconvenient, for sure. The hotel itself is pretty clean and what you should expect from a Hilton. Except it's super loud since you're downtown and near a lot of bars and other things. I'd recommend trying to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor, as my 5th floor room seemed to be a little more away from all the raucous. It's known to be so loud there that they leave ear plugs in each room instead of trying to actually do something to solve the issue. Yikes. They're also weird about late checkout and other options- you can move checkout like an hour later but anything past that they charge you. And there's no breakfast. I swear they literally try to charge you for anything they can- parking, checkout, breakfast etc. I just really was not impressed with the whole experience here and only stayed because it's the main hotel in downtown Ocala right now. The one upside I could see is that since it is in downtown it's in walking proximity to a lot of restaurants and some shopping, but that's about it.
