This Courtyard is getting all of the stars because of their excellent staff. Unfortunately, they had to call me just over an hour before I arrived to let me know that my room had a leak and that they were going to have to move me to the Holiday Inn across the street. It was late, & I was frustrated, but they were very kind and apologetic in explaining the situation and did everything that they could to make that transition smooth and easy. When I arrived, they also offered me extra points because of the inconvenience for having to check back into this hotel the following morning. Fortunately, as they were finalizing the paperwork to move me over to the Holiday Inn, their cleaning staff, who had stayed several extra hours because of this emergency, was able to clean a vacate in room and they were able to keep me at this location without having to send me to the Holiday Inn. On a separate note, the room is up to snuff to Marriott standards. It is clean, comfortable, and has the standard amenities (kudos to housekeeping for a good job under pressure). They would have received the stars even if I had had to move over to the other hotel, as they were doing everything they could to make a bad situation as good as it could be. Free points and free wine and a free transfer to the hotel next door is about all you can ask for in a situation like this. read more

My wife and i did the park, sleep, and fly. Under 300 for a nights stay, 11 days of parking and shuttle service to logan. Fantastic!!! The room is nice, clean, and the bed is comfy and quiet. We have 4 kids so normally we have to try to be quiet, we were alone so i tried to be loud.....the bed denied me lol The front desk was nice and courteous. Asked for copies of our cruise luggage tags, did that with np and no charge. Got a wake up call and the shuttle was fine, driver liads and unloads luggage. He was nice and a good driver. We ate at the bistro downstairs. Wife got the broccoli cheese soup and a quesadilla. I got the spicy chicken and spinach flatbread. All were very tasty. I was surprised how filling the flatbread was. All around great experience so far, if my car is still there when i get back w no damage ill give it 5 stars. read more

Fantastic location, service, room, and overall experience. would certainly stay here again. There is a shuttle that will take you to the Andrew Redline to get to the fun stuff, or you can burn some calories with the safe 5 min walk. Also nearby is a bunch of chain restaurants and a target, which is convenient for travelers for a late bite or emergency items. read more

I am sure inside the hotel is a typical Marriott Courtyard, wouldn't know because we refused to stay. (Myself & daughter) The issue is outside, you enter down streets where we saw multiple homeless holding signs looking for money & people drinking out of brown paper bags. ( Friday at 4:30pm) & the area is a rundown. The worst was to enter the hotel we had to drive through a construction area & behind a shopping center...yes, loading docks. We felt VERY unsafe. When we spoke with Front Office Supervisor not one ounce of understanding was given, just a canned robotic response about how inside the hotel they take the security of the guest seriously. When asked about right outside the door she once again delivered the same canned robotic response. Never tried to offer one single response as to how she could make us feel safe. AKA: security can walk you to your car or call when you return & security can walk you into the hotel. We can put you away from the stairwell...give you security's direct number...etc. just that same corporate line. We stayed here because we thought it was actually in South Boston...it is not. Clearly we left & stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf...AND felt safe. When we checked in the front desk person saw we were still upset & SHE offered to ensure we felt safe at that hotel!!! (Which we 100% did). She showed compassion & understanding. COMPLETELY OPPOSITE from the Front Desk SUPERVISOR at this hotel who needs some serious training. I stay at Marriott hotels out of the country because I know what I am getting & feel safe. The complete opposite of this experience. Actually returning to the same Marriott in London next week for the THIRD time because we feel safe & everyone is professional & caring. My advice, find another location. read more

Making us question our brand loyalty to marriott.. For gps users, address will bring you to shopping mall. Drive behind best buy and past best Western and will see this hotel. Biggest thing lacking here are smiles! Kodus to the house maid, but front desk staff and Cafe staff are just going through the motions. Which is surprising - day staff just as discontent as night staff - it's as though they all hate working here and would be better suited at the dmv. Pool and hot tub are not in service. There is no room service. Parking is easy and location is convenient read more

Stayed here in January. Had a great stay. Staff was very friendly and informative. One of the managers took 20 minutes out of her day to show us a map and highlight all the places we should visit in Boston before our stay was over. The hotel is very clean and up to date. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Nice big clean bathroom. Plenty of storage space! if your staying there for a while it won't feel like you're living out of a suitcase. Our beds were very comfortable and clean. They have a mini market where you can grab a few necessities. They have a large lounge area with a little cafe. Only downfall is the shuttle is not very reliable. Will definitely stay here again. read more

Came to Boston to meet an old friend and decided to both stay at this marriot. The rooms were clean and there was free wifi! The location is about 3 blocks from the nearest subway (Andrew Station) which easily took us to the major attractions on the red line. Will definitely recommend this place in the future! Clean, staff were nice, not too far from center And free wifi! read more

There was some confusion with the park and fly room we booked. We used our Marriott points and when we asked at check in they were rude and said there was nothing they could do and suggested we call Marriott. we were on hold off and on for over 1 1/2 hours and still did not resolve the issue. We also had delays with the courtesy shuttle both ways. We had to get up at 3:00 am for our flight and there was alot of noise and questionable people milling about on our floor discussing who they were going to "hook up with" When ever we have traveled in the past we try to stay at a Marriott property. We will no longer be doing that or using our Marriott credit cards for points. We have always admired the high level of customer service we would receive but your standards have clearly changed. read more

We booked early, got in one time. They have a shuttle bus to pick you up and get you to the convention center and the head office will even call you a taxi. The room was better than most other rooms I've stayed in across dozens of hotels and the staff was nice as well. 2 beds, a fridge, a microwave (free upon request), and a wired internet connection. Were it not for this place, I'd have hated my stay in boston 3 stars though because the staff recommended this pizza joint that gave us a terrible pizza. (They specifically gave us a brochure and said it was good food.) Might have been my misfortune, but you must take everything into consideration. read more

I really like this place. The location is proximate to nowhere interesting to me, except, maybe, if you want to stretch it, South St. Station. But what it lacks in accessibility, it more than makes up for with service, good rates, comfort, and, come breakfast time, pleasure. Nice to save on parking costs, first of all, when driving into a city of Boston's allure. Just a big old lot out front and then a short walk through the welcoming entrance. At this point, you've spent zero dollars and will continue to do so after using room's free Wi-Fi. There's even a complimentary granola bar and bottle of water awaiting you. Actually, we'll see when the bill comes. That would be dirty pool if they end up charging for it. The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. Need to do some stretching and crunches after stuffing yourself on great Thai in the city? Plenty of room on the carpet and it's nicely padded, so you're not feeling the hard wood underneath you. TV has a good array of channels, including -- make a note of this come Stanley Cup season -- NBCSN. Ugh -- how many frustrating nights have I spent on the road, unable to see a Cup game in April and May? The bed is wonderful and far across the room from the window, which, I suppose if you're facing out toward 93, could create some ambient noise that wouldn't be appreciated. But all the little pillows and thin, soft, and well-insulated bed linens allow sleep to come easily. Bathroom is utilitarian, but fine. Tub is full size, fills up quickly, and hot water is never an issue -- however long you choose to sink in for a good soak. A very welcome amenity after a day of urban hiking in winter time. Staff is friendly at the front desk and will pick up on it when you offhandedly correct their mispronunciation of your last name. Breakfast is a real treat. Not complimentary -- but for what they're offering, how could it be? A lovely room with crescent-shaped banquettes for you to sink into with a complimentary USA Today as you await some stellar French Toast topped with strawberries and with a side cupful if you run out. Not ridiculously pricey either. What you'd pay at Denny's and twice the quality. So, a stay here is highly recommended if you don't mind hopping a taxi into town. Desk is very obliging in calling one for you and they always come by within ten minutes. And Boston is compact enough that the fare won't be an arm or a leg to get where you're headed. read more

I took a trip to Boston alone to explore the city. I wasn't interested in paying the high prices of the Wharf Marriott so I chose this location. I thought the room was very nice and clean and quiet. I only have one minor complaint that the TV was in an awkward location and hard to see from the bed. The T station was relatively close. I didn't feel 100% safe walking there alone and I avoided doing that walk at night. But I think if you aren't alone, it would be fine. The staff was friendly to me and the free internet was a good bonus. I also liked that there were good stores very close (Best Buy, Target) read more

Oh Marriott, how you disappoint. This hotel is very clean and the rooms are new and very comfortable. Unfortunetely, while this hotel is close to a redline T, it is on the outskirts of town. The area is very industrial and "sketchy" as my husband described it. Our view was of the back of a shopping plaza. Other than a Marshall's, TJ Maxx and Bed, Bath and Beyond, there is nothing close to this hotel. They have a shuttle that runs every 30min-hour to the T-stop and possible the airport. Unfortunately, the shuttle won't pick you up unless you call them first, and it seems easier to just walk from the T to the hotel than to wait for a pickup. The hotel staff were not friendly, polite or informative. It would have been nice to be informed of hotel amenities or local events. read more

I really have a few things I use to rate a hotel. I really don't care about the friendliness of the staff, and usually don't judge based on service on check-in. For me, it is more about how fast the Internet is, the quality of the television, whether or not there is a fridge, price of parking and how easy it is to get to where I want to go. For this hotel, the Internet (wired) was fast enough for me, the hotel is close enough to the T (subway) for me to easily get downtown or over to cambridge, and the TV was adequate. Free parking. No fridge (not all courtyards have them). I don't like that their breakfasts costs so much -- so I just got my food from somewhere else. This hotel is also not the easiest to get to (the mapped location on Google Maps is off just a little) and there is a one way street to get to it, so getting back to the shopping area is easier to walk than drive. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean, fridge was large and cold, free wifi was great. Walking distance to the T is nice, though parts of town are a bit sketchy. Convenient in case you need some groceries or forgotten items that Target and other stores are right there, though it is easier to walk to those stores than drive!!! Staff was super friendly. We requested service for our room (couldn't figure out the TV) and they were VERY prompt!! Less than 5 minutes! Only two things holding this hotel back from 5 stars: -Blankets should be thicker in the winter time at least -Free continential breakfast would be fantastic, not crazy about paying $11.95 for basic breakfast, might as well upgrade for another $1. read more

Not as cheap as others around here. Room smelt like smoke. Front desk said it may be the AC. Small glass of wine over $14 HBO did not work. Would not break up bill into two parts. Shuttle only ran hourly Good part: walking distance from RedLine Nice shuttle driver J. J. was very helpful. read more

I would really give this hotel 3.5 stars if I could. The hotel itself was clean, had a fridge in the room as well as a flat screen TV, had a friendly and helpful staff, a shuttle to the airport for $5 a person, and two computers with free internet. It was also close to a shopping center. It was a few blocks' walk to the nearest T stop. My friend and I went out both nights that we stayed there, and just to be on the safe side, took cabs back instead of walking late at night. It was about a $10 cab ride from the city to the hotel, which we thought was reasonable. It's not the best or most happening location, but considering we only booked a week in advance, this option worked just fine. Overall, a nice hotel that would be better if it were a little closer to downtown or in a little bit of a safer neighborhood. read more

I inadvertently booked this South Boston Courtyard Marriott instead of the downtown one for a 6 day work trip. General Manager refused to issue me a refund so that I could transfer to the downtown Courtyard Marriott. She said it was up to her discretion and that she just won't do it. Bed and pillows are also uncomfortable and hurt my neck. read more

I was happy and satisfied with this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. They have a really good restaurant inside the hotel.

We traveled to Boston before a cruise and needed a hotel at the last minute. We are so glad we ended up at the Courtyard Boston-South Boston! The staff were very all friendly and helpful, especially Andrew at the front desk. The lobby was recently remodeled and was a great place to hang out. The breakfast portions at The Bistro were huge and the food was very good. Our room was very large. The manager, Alex, was quite helpful as well. The location is convenient as it is within walking distance to a large shopping center with restaurants. This was particularly helpful since we forgot a couple of things. We also walked to the T Station to visit the JFK Library which was only one stop away. We travel to Boston from time to time and will definitely stay here again! read more

The hotel is decent and front desk staff is pleasant. However I am not pleased with the way they handled my rental car being hit in the parking lot. I received a message on the hotel phone after the driver had already left. Not a phone call either to my room or cell phone while the guy who hit my car was still on the property. Sara Vogel, the front desk supervisor, said she tried to reach me which is untrue. I was in my room and the phone never rang.Although Sara did get driver info from the guy that hit my car, he was allowed to drive off without saying a word to me or the police. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I will bypass this hotel when visiting Boston. read more

On the fringes of the city highways but within walking distance to shops & mass transit. A total bonus for those wanting to get around town and not drive. Typical Courtyard feel, which is comforting. Consistency is important for me read more

My husband and I took advantage of the stay park and fly package and all I can say is WHAT A DEAL! I highly recommend this package for anyone who must fly out of BOS and needs safe parking for a reasonable price. We checked in - the checkin process was quick and easy - the person at the counter was friendly and very helpful...and not only was the room extremely clean and quiet, but our rate included parking at the hotel for up to 10 days AND included a shuttle to and from the airport! Highly recommended! read more

When I heard I was staying at a hotel in Dorchester South Boston, I had my reservations. I've been to South Boston before and it can be a little edgy but I'm happy to report that the area is much nicer than I remember and the hotel was solid. The hotel itself was well located, off Boston Street. Clean rooms and lobby area. The staff was very helpful and accommodating at all hours. We were in town for an event my company was throwing and they were able to help get us shuttles and store materials as we needed. They have a computer center and printer, a bar and dining area. Everything you need to work or relax on site. The wi-fi was a bit shotty but when is it ever good at hotels? If i had to go back and needed a cheap place to stay, this would definitely be on my list. read more

rude staff, they wanted to give us breakfast for only 2 while we paid for 4 ... shameful really embarrassing shitty hotel

Surprised at how affordable, clean and nice this hotel was. Great accommodations. A restaurant, snack store, and fresh cookies and water put out for the guests at the help desk every day. The rooms are a good size, very clean and pretty nice. The staff is helpful and nice. And for the most part it's no further than a $10 at most car service ride away from everything. Stay here. Yowza! Customers have had some rough experiences at this Courtyard. Maybe this will turn people away and eventually lower the prices. Two years ago it was almost always less than $175 to stay in this hotel. I would usually land a stay for around $135, but it appears that the prices have skyrocketed to around $225. Over the years my Courtyard stays have always been positive. As a Hilton member I'm pretty loyal to their brand, but I do make an exception for this Courtyard. The free outdoor parking and proximity to the Andrew Square T stop is a major bonus. If you're not familiar with driving in the Boston area, this hotel can be particularly difficult to drive to, especially during rush hour. The South Boston Courtyard can be a bargain if you can book it for less than $190.00. read more

So one the location is great; complimentary breakfast is a bonus; however, on our second night here, the room next to us had a party, you could hear multiple people opening & closing the door & being loud while playing loud music. i called reception at around midnight or so & complained & they apologized & said they would send security; it quieted down for about 30 minutes & then all the noise came back. At this point i wasn't going to bother with complaining again; security should have been better & continued to come up & monitor the noise level. I'm pregnant, I lost a whole nights sleep over this party. 2nd there are signs that say that between 11pm & 6am a access key is required to enter the hotel; however, seeing the excess amount of people making noise in that one hotel room, it's obvious thats not the case. ive stayed at other Marriotts before & this one seems to be outdated with their security; example, the elevator doesn't require a key card as a security requirement to get to a desired floor, hence why so many people got into the hotel to party in the first place. Next, the cable went out for us on our third night; My boyfriend was attempting to watch some sports & unfortunately could not. overall the comfort of the hotel is great; they just need better security to control unwanted partying & noise levels & who they allow in. read more

Enjoyed my stayed for business. For the NACAC conference there was a free shuttle to the convention center. I was provided an early check in and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Clean room with comfortable soft beds. I was very comfortable in their spacious two queen bed room. 24 fitness was convenient and I didn't have the time to use their hot tub. The area is under construction so there was a little of traffic but overall I enjoyed my stay. To travel downtown was a little pricey with Uber or taxi $10-18 per trip. The rooms are clean, everyone that works there is polite and helpful...until you're in your room. This is the email I sent to the General Manager of this property. You read it and decide. Keep in mind, I have never needed to contact a GM to complain before. As a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, I would have expected better treatment even though you should receive quality service regardless of tier status. Here's the email: Rick, Thank you for your email. I just wanted to get in touch with you to let you know that my experience at your hotel was very poor. To begin, I had reserved 2 nights under 2 separate reservations for one night each. The reason for that is the first night I used my points and made a reward reservation and the second night I was paying. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked the front desk agent if he could combine the two reservations so that I would not have to check out and check back in or if he could make the keys valid for both nights to save me a trip to the front desk again. His attitude was very non-caring as if I was asking him to go above and beyond his normal duties and he replied, "NO, you'll need to check out and check back in." In addition, in case he didn't see it on my preferences, I asked him for a room on a higher floor away from the elevator, in which no reply was given. When he assigned me to room 215 I thought, ok...maybe nothing else was available. But when I arrived to my room, 215 was across from the elevator bank as well, as if he intentionally assigned me to a room in which I specifically asked to stay away from. My girlfriend headed back downstairs to ask for a comb from the same front desk agent. He was more concerned with his phone conversation, making plans for after work, and made her stand there and wait while he finished his phone call. When she came back upstairs and explained to me what just happened, I had no intentions of going back to the front desk and requesting to be reassigned another room or to argue with your front desk agent. I immediately canceled my reservation for the next night and decided to move immediately the next day. To compound matters, later at night there was no hot water...slightly warm. When I called the front desk, the response I received from the clerk was that's normal just wait for awhile. A little later, my girlfriend comes to find that the hair dryer didn't work and she called the front desk, but this time, there was no answer even after calling a few times. Throughout the night, we constantly heard the banging of the door from the laundry room across from us and the elevators. I'm sure at this point, you get the picture of what I am trying to convey to you as to my experience at your hotel. I understand you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time, but I believe I wasn't that demanding. These were just normal expectations that I would assume anyone would have when staying at any hotel. I hope you'll be able to take my concerns into consideration with your staff and maybe be more customer service oriented. Sincerely, Anson read more

I'm currently staying in the hotel and haven't had the best experience so far. I've stayed in many Marriott hotels and hotels in general since I travel quite often, so I'm very disappointed with this experience. When I checked-in, the staff wasn't very friendly and the room assigned to me smelled of smoke. I'm glad it was easy to switch rooms, but now this new room's fridge was making whistling noises and I had to unplug it. The heater is very loud and there is a constant whirring sound that is bothersome. It sounds like a shower vent/fan is on somewhere next to me or above me. I called to have a blanket sent to my room and all I got was an "ok" and still no blanket. I hope when I come back on Monday, it will be a better experience. read more

Spent the weekend here and we were satisfied with the room and service all the workers are very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, one night my friends and I got back late and we decided to make popcorn in the small market place area good to know this place has a microwave. And the man working the over night shift accused me of stealing the popcorn. (January 9 2am. ) Meanwhile I had it in my bag, we planned to go out for a night out and then make the popcorn on the way up the room so we didn't have to go back up to the room just for that. I felt like it was highly unprofessional for him to accuse me of stealing popcorn I even exclaimed that I didn't even know you sold popcorn and he replied with an attitude "yea we do" I told him ok go watch the cameras. This was the first time I ever experienced this and I was shocked because it is indeed very unprofessional to accuse your customers of stealing. Why would I steal popcorn? Overall happy with this hotel, That worker that night just left a bad impression for us. read more

I would rate this higher, seeing that the rooms were clean and the hotel was located next to shops and restaurants. However, the customer service was extremely lacking. I went I the desk to buy a soda, and was clearly waiting in line behind the only customer at the desk. I was then passed over my the woman working he desk for 3 customers that came into the hotel after I had placed myself in line to pay for my drink. I asked if I could just pay, an was told to wait until she was done. This is not the kind of treatment a guest deserves, and if I was in town for more than one night, I would have booked another hotel and left this one immediately. read more
