Manager was bad. We had 90 degree temp on 4 th floor and they didn't care. They didn't fix it for the three nights we were there- and my CC was fraudulently "run" several times. I'm a Hilton Diamond - due to staying sooo many nights travling for work- and have stayed at several Marriott properties as well- this was by far the worst experience- and worst manager/staff- we have experienced in a long time. read more

Comfortable hotel about 15 mins from the city center and 5 mins from the mall area. Large, free parking lot. The rooms are super large, with comfy beds and large bathrooms. Super clean and renovated. They have a small pool and a small gym. They do have a food area with a bar but it's more for take out but do have drinks at the bar. I stay here quite a bit when I travel for business. Wish it was a little closer to downtown. read more

A fine hotel in an ok location if you're passing through, but 20 min from the city center. Rooms were well-kempt. Included coffee but bottled water was $8, which was a bit wild. We asked if there were any upgrades given our Courtyard status and the host quickly shot us down before checking saying there was no availability (looking at the app for the same night, there were better options available but I suppose we weren't worth the time to check). Great hotel! Down the end of a dead end road and a bit secluded though there is another Marriott right next door. There is ample parking even for RVs, trailers etc. The staff is great! I happened to be staying over my birthday and in my room I had a birthday bag with a card and some goodies. It's was a nice touch and shows they go the extra mile for their guests. Every time I walked by the desk I was greeted with a warm smile and welcome. I had an issue with my TV and maintenance was there in just few minutes and got the issue resolved in no time. I didn't use the Bistro at all but seems many did especially in the evenings. The pantry was well stocked. The rooms and the hotel were clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business (which I was) or vacation. read more

Stayed in room 126 which is a noisy location next to lobby. Our room was not super clean, and had an uncomfortable old bed that shook me awake any time my partner moved. Would not stay here again, would try the Marriott residence property with Timbers restaurant onsite instead. Nice staff but not a place I'd ever pay $60 over the going rate for again. Seriously why is this place more expensive than other hotels nearby?! read more

The Marriott Courtyard in Bangor, Maine was an absolutely delightful experience. Not only was this hotel very conveniently located for our vacation agendas, but our room was extremely "livable" - generous size, 2 queen beds, roll-out desk for business, cozy arm chair, DIY laundry room, etc. Also, the variety of hot and cold breakfast options was excellent - from the eggs/bacon/sausage, bagels, French or avocado toast, egg-bacon-cheese burrito, etc. Not to mention the evening lobby Bistro, which served delicious snacks including burgers, chicken wings, quesadillas, salads, etc., along with a great selection of beers, wines and liquors. We absolutely appreciated front desk receptionist Caroline who was always super-friendly and especially helpful with right-on suggestions for local dining options. Also, we want to recognize Bistro server Izzy who consistently did a fantastic job every evening skillfully preparing the hot and cold snacks, gourmet coffees and teas, and serving up a wide variety of wines, beers and liquors - all with a super friendly personality. Finally, thanks to the breakfast tag team of Hayley and Emily, who always greeted us with a friendly smiling Good Morning, and then delivered our delicious breakfasts. Caroline, Izzy, Hayley and Emily are outstanding models of a First Class team of Marriott representatives. We definitely recommend staying at this wonderful hotel. read more

This is just standard Courtyard, bland and boring. Not a great location, pretty far from everything, well, except Bangor airport. The room was expensive and too small for my daughters and me... Pretty limited amenities, no bar, just basic breakfast items, and bad coffee. Service was adequate, except one thing: curiously, they don't provide complimentary bottled water in the room, even for Platinum Members. Well, I never pay for water or Wi-Fi, at least at Marriott properties, so it was a problem. They gave me some water bottles at the end, but behaved that they are doing me a big favor! Anyway, puzzled by mostly positive reviews. To be objective, Courtyard is just a weak brand, so I cannot blame hotel only for their shortcomings. Next time would prefer to stay in Bar Harbor or Camden areas.... read more

This is a nice hotel. The lobby is fairly new and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room I received had an adjoining door and was fairly close to an elevator... not sure if those two reasons are why but I could hear everything in my room - people talking, doors closing, etc... The room itself was very clean and reasonably spacious. The lighting in the room is TERRIBLE. The bathroom with both lights on was just what I would consider dim light. I don't know about other people but when I am getting ready to go somewhere I want light so that I can see how I look! The lighting in the main room area was very dim too. I would highly recommend they add more lighting. Their bistro has an extremely small menu... if you want more than a basic sandwich you will have to go to a nearby restaurant. Also, they do not have room service ... you can call and place your order but you have to go down and get it... read more

This is a really nice hotel. It's pretty new (opened October 2008 I think). My room had a garden view - It was lovely and I would recommend this as the the hotel is situated near a retail park, with the car park to the front. The room was clean and modern, with art throughout, LCD TV, free wi-fi, iron and board, fridge, coffee machine and a great climate control. The bathroom was also a good size, with good lighting. It wasnt completely soundproofed as I could here a neighbouring room through vent (although the person was shouting). I also heard the room above drop something heavy and run across the room. None of this was disturbing though. I went for the breakfast package. It was a light meal and the food was good. I was left wanting more, but it served its purpose. The hotel has a small indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. It wasn't crowded when I stayed. In fact it was empty when I used it - perfect! There's a pagoda in the small garden. The hotel also has a laundry room, a business area with a couple of PCs and printers and an allocated flight check-in PC (great if you're leaving for the airport and the business area is busy). There's also a bar and lounge with a huge TV. There's also a large touch screen with lots of local information (weather, concerts, shopping, news). The restaurant is open planned and situated opposite the reception area. Some of the seating has individual TVs and power points - handy if you want to use your laptop. I only dropped a star as I felt certain necessities were missing for me. My room wishlist would be a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, a full length mirror and perhaps a coffee table. Apart from this, it ticked all thr boxes. I will definitely come back here if I'm ever in Bangor. read more

LOVED this hotel so much, that I stayed longer than I had planned! This hotel is right off I-95. It is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel into downtown Bangor or downtown Brewer (close, but not walking distance). There is a LOT near the hotel; Target, Walmart, a huge mall, tons of chain restaurants (fast food and sit-down). There is nothing really within walking distance, you would need a car - but all those stores are a very quick drive up the main road - you can see them from the hotel. Acadia National Park is about a 45 minute - to an hour drive away. There is plenty of free parking, and good free wi-fi. This hotel is awesome. First, it is super clean. Second, there is a very friendly staff - everybody was so nice. I loved everything about the hotel. Third, my room was perfect. It was really spacious, and I loved the big bathroom - it had had nice shelving, and a longer-than-usual tub, with like a little bench area; that was so nice. The beds were comfy and the room was spotlessly clean. I had a reservation for 2 days, then added another day, then another; I ended up staying 5 days because the place was so great. They don't feed you at this hotel, so no free breakfast. But, there is a very nice little café in the lobby. There's a Starbucks there and you can order breakfast, then it closes - then opens again for dinner. I didn't eat at this one, but I have at other Courtyards and the breakfast is pretty good. The only thing I got here was good coffee. They also serve alcohol at night, I believe. Now, most important - something I really loved - there was a recycling bin in the room! I travel a LOT, and this is maybe only the second time I have seen that. I always wonder why hotels are not required to recycle. It was surprising because I had just come from a New Hampshire hotel that did not recycle (I thought NH recycled everything!). So, I was happy to see when I got into Maine they had this bin. It made me love this hotel even more. I could go on and on like I usually do, but I won't. This is a great place. Stay here, you won't regret it. read more

We were looking for a Marriott near Acadia National park. Unfortunately the closest Marriott was in Bangor which was over an hour away. I gave them two stars because of how they responded to a mishap at check in and the pile of chew on the side of the bed that was not cleaned. In fact the room was not clean. Fortunately I brought cleaning supplies and cleaned the room. Shortly after we checked in, we got two knocks in our door. The first was a couple who were going to their room. The second from the gentlemen at the front desk. He accused us of going to the wrong room and said that was not our room! He demanded to see the key holder because he didn't believe me when I said the room number was what was written on the holder. As I turned to get the key holder, the door was closing. He stumped his feet loudly to hold the door open with his foot. Really? Also how could be enter the room if we had the wrong room!?!?!! He asked to to come downstairs to resolve this issue. So I got dressed and put on my shoes and headed downstairs. We booked the same type of room as the other couple. He could have fixed it without me going downstairs. He said his coworker make keys for both couples for the same room. It took him awhile until he finally apologized. He did come up with the solution of switching rooms. That could have been done seamlessly without both couples knowing there was an issue. He also offered free breakfast to go and coffee. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the view from the room was nice. read more

For a hotel in the Bangor area, this is a great stopover to lay your head after a long day. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating to all of my needs including having another key made when I went out to eat in a local restaurant. They also had a restaurant style bistro selection in the lobby until 10pm and everything was both clean and new. Take the time to take a cab from the airport to head over to the mall area if you want an upscale place to stay in small town Bangor. The price was actually cheaper then the local Hampton Inn and some other local venues. I definitely recommend this hotel. read more

This hotel makes traveling to Bangor for work bearable! I have been staying at the Courtyard every other week for about 6 months. The staff has taken the time to get to know me and they are 3 steps ahead of my every request. The rooms are extremely comfortable and very large compared to many Marriotts that I have stayed in. They have an indoor pool and workout room which I have frequented. They also have a large business space and a full service bar. The service is really what sets this hotel apart from most. For example, Marriott is a Pepsi hotel and all I wanted one morning was a Diet Coke. They didn't have any because of their contract. The next time I checked in there was a Diet Coke in the fridge in my room. Wow. read more

I want to start out by saying this hotel is FANTASTIC! The rooms are massive, clean and cool rooms, staff is absolutely phenomenal. The ONLY downside, is sometimes breakfast isn't included with your stay. BUT, it's still a great hotel. I stayed multiple times in May and loved it so much I kept going back. The pool is great, rooms were extremely comfortable, and the staff was extremely nice to move me at nearly midnight my last stay here. So ask for a room farther down the hall if you think it'll be a problem. Walls are moderately thin. I could hear guests on either side. But they're not so thin that you hear everything. Breakfast not included. However the bar area is also a bistro for breakfast and dinner. //STAFF\\ Staff is so-so. They're friendly but gave the feeling that they're still kind of new at this. They're not yet at the level that makes you feel comfortable this is professionally and competently run. We actually booked two Extended larger guest rooms, and I even asked at the front desk when checking in if both were the same, to which the girl said yes. However, when we went into the rooms, it was obvious only one was the extended and the other not. But since it wasn't that big of a difference (the extended room is bigger with a sofa bed, extra closet, microwave, and longer counter), I didn't point it out. Plus, I was that pleased about the cleanliness of our room that I wanted to stay in it. Amy serviced our room, and she did a nice job. Very clean, hope she keeps it up. read more

Pretty nice hotel. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are huge. The beds are comfy. The rooms have lots of built-in cabinets, which you think would be a nice touch, but the night I stayed there all I heard were people slamming their cabinet doors. There is a small area in the lobby where you can get food and breakfast, but nothing is included with your room and there is no continental breakfast. For $170 a night, I wouldn't mind a free bagel and coffee before I hit the road. For $129-149 a night across town the Hollywood Slots Hotel is a better choice. Much quieter and the rooms are just as nice. read more

We only stayed one night but had a great experience. Very friendly staff quickly checked us in. Our room was nice and looked modern and new. Wireless was good albeit a tad bit slow. The walls are a little bit thin but not too intrusive. The bathroom products provided were a small bottle of Paul Mitchell Shampoo and Conditioner. No body wash or body moisturizer and no heavenly bed. Our only complaint would be the pillows were a little uncomfortable. Kind of foamy and sponge like. Other than that, we would return. read more

I live in courtyards . As all of the reviews say it is a nice and clean hotel. As a platinum member I do have a couple of remarks not to take away from the above. We got in at 10pm and tried to get a glass of wine . We were denied no problem off to bed. Again in the morning as a platinum member I asked for a cup of coffee and was denied unless I pay. I'm honest I took the 500 points verses the $10 voucher but every courtyard I have ever visited has never denied me a coffee or water .For someone like myself who spends a lot of money with Marriott I was left scratching my head . This joint is the best thing going in the area. Relatively new, clean, modern and convenient. Employees are all really nice, and genuinely curteous - and kid-friendly to boot! No breakfast or anything included, but can't complain for the price (they have gov't/military rates also), and they include a complementary coffee bar. They have a in-house restaurant/kitchen that I grabbed some breakfast for my son; it was not good and way over-priced. Save yourself the trouble and hit Denny's right across the street or Dysart's. Pretty darn happy with my first Priceline bid and wound up here. For being a two star, it wasn't bad, even though we found a few housekeeper DNA items here and there. I was happy to find there were outlets on the wall lamps on each side of the bed -- no digging around other DNA leftovers behind the bed to find an outlet! Firstly, I never, ever write reviews. Perhaps I should start to dole out the occasional star, but since I rarely go anywhere worth writing about, I'd wind up rating the downstairs bathroom in my "townhouse" (both would earn sub-stars). But, this place is worth a review. The hotel, and in particular the late night front desk guy, offered my downtrodden, exhausted family a great experience. After a long day of packing and moving, we probably looked we'd just stumbled off the Santa Maria, scurvy ridden, bedraggled and covered in inflamed constellations of rat bites . We all needed a place to flop, squabble and shower until the next morning when we'd have to return to packing and moving. Well, Marriott, you were our spirit animal in the night. You provided far more than a bed, mini soap and running water. The front desk manager ( Patrick, maybe) could not have been more accommodating. The teens were grumpy and starving and Patrick magically provided some pretzels. In no way did he give us a fake smile and a key card; in fact, his personality gave us all a boost. Aesthetically, the lobby is beautiful. We were very pleased with our room and the seated shower was amazing, especially after a long day of moving my over-sized ham hocks. Needless to say, we slept like happy babies and after an allowance of a late check out so the kids could have a quick swim, we emerged refreshed and ready to take on more moving. Well, not really. Nothing can make one revved up for moving...not even Patrick and his pretzels. Full stars. read more
