Pretty sweet digs for a rest stop if you ask me! The service plaza is right where I-95 and I-295 meet (I-95 Exit 102 Northbound, Exit 103 Southbound, I-295 Exit 51). There are tons of signs, you can't miss it. The inside is basically a food court set-up with an awesome moose statue in the middle. Did I mention the huge moose statue outside as well? There is a Starbucks (open 6am-8pm), a Quiznos (open 11am-8pm), a Burger King (open 24 hours), a Z-market (open 6am-8pm), and a Hershey's Ice Cream Place (open seasonally in the summer). There are a ton of bathrooms which have been clean every time I've had to use them. My advice: if you need to make a pit stop, stop here! Do not wait for the next one.

I definitely use to frequent this rest area/service plaza more when living in central Maine. A trip…read moreback home from Bar Harbor and needing a bathroom stop this did the trick. Food/drink wise they have Dunkin and Popeyes with both charging more than your average location. Along with those you'll find a market with road trip essentials at elevated prices as well. They've been talking that the service plazas in Maine are suppose to get upgraded and will see better food options so we shall see where that goes. Rumor has been potential first Shake Shacks in Maine. The biggest knock I would give this particular rest area/service plaza compared to the others in Southern Maine would be the fact you have to leave the highway system. It tacks on extra time that adds an extra level of annoyance. The place in general was clean including the bathrooms but could use an updating in my opinion. While the sinks are touch-less both the soap and paper towel dispensers were not. That seems like a pretty common standard but not here. I've been to worse rest stops but this could be significantly better as well.

We ended up in Bangor unexpectedly and needed a place to stay. With no car, the shuttle picked us…read moreup from the airport we checked in and then got shuttled to dinner by the river and back. Then shuttled back to airport to leave the next morning. We never used the elevator so the journey to find it was lost on us We took the stairs and our room was close. Very clean and updated room. The lobby was updated and had a cooler with some snacks if needed and a business center with computer and printer. Coffee in the lobby wasn't great. We skipped breakfast and just went nextdoor to Dunkin. Overall, great unexpected time in Bangor mostly thanks to the hotel, recommendations for dinner/brewery by the shuttle driver, and five stars for the shuttle service! Don't forget to tip for the ride!

Pet fee was $30, didn't hear a peep from any other dogs, and my dog didn't "find" a hot spot from a previous canine guest as he walked the room checking it out. Bathroom was modern and fresh and properly clean. Wifi was free and stout, window blinds were a bit balky and clunky which was an issue as we were on the ground floor. Parking lots seem quite dark and murky. Staff was quick and cordial at checkin. No complimentary breakfast, awesome views, endearing architecture, or glamorous lobby to linger in, just a nice plain generic stay with clean sheets and a shower with peace and quite. Not a value champion, but for Maine in vacation season, we checked out without bruising our wallet.

Tamarijan- Aruba Stay Tuesday 5/2 to Monday 5/8…read more I am a 72 year old man who has traveled to many place in my life during cruises and self travel with family. We are not rich but enjoy great food experiences as well as good hotel accommodations and customer service. We don't look for bargain prices and don't mind paying for good quality experiences. This is an honest review of what I experienced.... I would rate the Tamarijan- Aruba as a "3 Star out of 5" rating personally as a rating for hotel room accommodations, restaurant food quality, and general comfort for guests (pool sitting areas, bar seating, restaurants tables and chairs). Here are the great points- I would rate the Tararijan the employees and staff with a "5 stars" as they were great with the guests and provided fun, courteous, personal interaction with guests. There was always a hello, smile, and pleasant conversation with the staff. Lot's of laughs with the folks at bar. I also enjoyed my rides in the electric golf cart like transports from the lobby to various resort guest buildings as well as the the Divy. Since I have some physical limitations in walking, it was great to get rides from our hotel room in building 24 to the main lobby which were available at all hours. The drivers were awesome and easily chatted with guests. There is a beachfront boardwalk the runs from one end of the resort to the other in front of all the buildings. It's has lights on it so that night time walks are great while hearing the ocean waves. The Bunker Bar on the boardwalk is a great small place to view the ocean and watch pelicans. The Papparazi italian restaurant is the best for food. Resort Guest Buildings- All rooms in the resort have oceanfront views. However, most of buildings DO NOT HAVE beachfront sand beaches that guests simply walkout and swim in the ocean. The majority of the buildings have rocks formations in front of the ocean waves. Guests need to use the main swimming pool or go to other locations to swim in the ocean. Anyone staying in Buildings 11-18 have NO direct ocean beach access. Guest staying in Buildings 19,21 and 22 are able to swim in the ocean however, beach front sand area is limited. THE BEST buildings where guests are able to swim in the ocean in front of their rooms are Buildings 23,24, and 25. DO NOT STAY in any buildings next to or close main hotel lobby, restaurants, and bars if you want get any quiet rest or sleep. The music being played is loud and does not get quiet till 11:00 PM Food- There's nothing special or exciting about the food in the general buffet restaurant. They offer a a variety of food selections for breakfast through dinner. Some choices are cook to order (omelettes, burgers, salads) while others are buffet trays. You can choose what you like and eat as much as you want. We ate at the Palms Grill where you are able to select your choice of 2 food menu items and then cook and prepare these on your own at your table that has cooking area for the food. The problem was that the portion size of the two menu items to was so small that it was worthless. In my case 3 small shrimps and about 4oz of tunna. The Papparazzi italian restaurant was very nice and the food was very good. Enjoyed the Ossobucco, Salmon, and Veal. Service was great. The Bar and Drink Options- The people working at the bars were great. Very friendly and chatted with the guYemanja Wood Fired Grill- Aruba (Thursday 5/4)

Recently returned from Aruba from one of many trips to the island which we love - NOT this resort…read more I only give it 1 star because it has access to a beautiful beach. Unfortunately, we wanted to see what an all inclusive was like and our travel agent raved about The Divi Resorts. This will be the last time we use a travel agent. The system for making dinner reservations is archaic. They won't allow you to make dinner reservations online ahead of time or to even call. I had no desire to spend my vacation mornings standing in line for over 1 hour to be told there were no tables available until 3 days later at 9:30 PM. Oddly, when we walked by the restaurant at 6:30 there were only 3 tables being used! The only way we were able to get into the restaurant was to say we "forgot" what time our reservation was and slip the hostess a ten. CLEANLINESS - Is apparently not in their vocabulary. Put the sign on the door for room cleaning and they made the bed - we purposely left used towels on the floor to be taken and replaced. Towels were only replaced once. After that we had to ask for clean towels on our way past the reception desk! There was 2" of dust on the ceiling fan and some "odd" crusty something on the bathroom wall! Stopped by the Sand Piper for a drink to find them cooking burgers on grills beneath another ceiling fan crusted with crud which was dropping onto the food! Decided to pass on the drinks there. The entire resort is strewn with empty glasses - many of the guests leave them on tables, etc. but the staff just walks by and doesn't pick them up. There was a glass on the sand near the boardwalk that remained there for 3 days. The common bathrooms are atrocious, better to go back to your room. STAFF ATTITUDE - There were some staff who were quite pleasant, but for the most part they gave the impression they were miserable. Aruba is known as "one happy island" - apparently the owners of Divi went out and rounded up the people who are NOT happy and gave them jobs. GENERAL IMPRESSION - There seem to be a lot of people who can't handle their liquor at this place and clearly, the bar staff is not comfortable telling people they are shut off when they are visibly inebriated. Over-served guests walk into other guests, knock down children and even fall into bushes on their way to getting their next drink. Incidents and alcohol poisoning would seem to present a clear liability issue, but it doesn't seem to phase the staff. We were awoken at 3AM by drunken guests who decided it would be fun to run through the courtyard area screaming at the top of their lungs, pounding on room doors and knocking patio tables over, presenting a feeling of being unsafe while in our room. We called the Concierge to complain; the response was "yea - things like that happen". Would not send my worst enemy to any of the Divi resorts and you should steer clear as well.
