Great location right downtown. Very close to the ferry dock where I was meeting friends. The food and service were very good. I like the restaurant a lot in concept, but had mixed experiences. Their menu is well thought out and the decor matches the concept of the place. The whole courthouse theme wasn't overused. I ordered a salad and substituted chicken for the shrimp. The salad itself was great, but the chicken was clearly precooked & microwaved. Not only was it served less than 5 minutes after placing the order, it was small, tough and rubbery. It was a shame because the rest of the salad was good. read more

Sad to say tonight's experience was completely underwhelming. It started upon arrival. Weird vibe. Four staff at the hostess station barely acknowledged our presence. It was up to us to initiate the interaction. And it was not a busy place. The cheese curds in raspberry sauce were delicious, but that's where it began AND ended. The rest of the meal was pepper heavy. 3 bites of soup was the most we could manage. The rice tasted like the box Uncle Ben's is sold in. This place is by far the best restaurant I've ever eaten at in Manitowoc. The food is wonderful. The portion sizes are perfect. The service is superb. The owner came out to greet us and make sure everything tasted good. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Brew pub atmosphere with a high class feel. Had the Chicken Pot Pie and could have made it myself (only because cooking is a hobby of mine that I excel at) for a quarter of the price and it would have been just as good. This is by far the best restaurant in the Manitowoc, Two Rivers area. The staff is very courteous right from the get-go. As soon as you walk in and see the waiters in uniform you realize this is a fine dining establishment that you can dress casually in...this is Wisconsin we're talking about. I had the pork osso buco, some of the most tender pork shanks I have ever had, absolutely delicious along with the broccolini( hybrid plant that looks like broccoli, and tastes like asparagus) that was fantastic, and the mashed potatoes. My wife had the cinnamon crusted pork chop, again very delicious that came with cranberries and applesauce. The coconut shrimp were butterflied and fried to perfection. Wonderful meal. We enjoyed the staff, the beer and the food! Tiffany, our waitress was attentive and offered great recommendations to try the cheese curds for an appetizer. They were lightly breaded in beer batter with a tasty raspberry sauce and were a perfect beginning to accompany the dark saison microbrew. For entrees we had cinnamon pork and a bacon bourbon burger. Loved the option to have a smaller portion. Derek, the host and Eric were also friendly staff editions. Even the manager helped us navigate directions. All around a great intro to Manitowoc. This is a nice place to take friends for dinner. If you can sit in the pub area. It's much cozier and doesn't feel like a supper club, which the dining room does. The food is good and they usually have a unique special. I can never figure out when they are open or not. They do have a sign that says "court is in session" or "court is adjourned", but check online before you go. On the weekend make a reservation as it gets busy. read more

The courthouse pub is our special event place. Anniversary, birthday, and graduation type place. They have an extremely well trained staff and a great chef. The main reason it is a special occasion place for us is that it is for the area expensive. (Two people is easy $70 or more.) They also have their own craft beers they brew onsite. I would say it is a classy place. White linen napkins and tablecloths. They have a bar area with seating and a dining room. The bar area can get a little loud, but the dinning room is usually pretty quite. read more

Had a wonderful lunch here with family after arriving for a visit. Lovely building, friendly server and great food made this a nice intro to the area. My lunch consisted of chicken noodle soup, half of a sliced beef sandwich on a pretzel roll and a small dish of pasta salad..all delicious. The amber ale was tasty as well. read more

A favorite for years. Great atmosphere and great food for a special occasion dinner in the dining room or a burger for lunch near the bar. Regular diner and have never been disappointed. Dinners are not cheap but food is wonderful in preparation, portion size, presentation, uniqueness and of course taste. Menu is never stale as it changes. Dining room is a bit tight in places (I like the back room) but acoustics are good in that it never seems noisy and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Owner is always making the rounds. We traveled to Manitowoc for a memorial service last week. Afterwards there was a gathering at the family home. It was catered by Courthouse Catering and they were exceptional. There were a dozen or more hot and cold hors d'ouvres, each better than the last. Mini-baguette sandwiches (the BLT was great) and many desserts. The servers and the bartender were professional and polite. Everything they served was top notch. Wish they were on the northwest side of Chicago! read more

Had a wonderful dinner here on a whim. The theme is cool, for instance the bill was presented inside an envelope that was for parking tickets. Had the judges burger on challah roll. We are from Illinois and found ourselves in Manitowoc for a cub scout overnight at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum across the river. I looked on Yelp for places to eat and the Courthouse Pub was recommended. And what a good recommendation that was. The food was great, but even more impressive was the service. Our waitress was very attentive, and as stated in the other reviews the owner came around to make sure everything was okay. I visited this restaurant due to the Yelp reviews and was very impressed. They have a great downtown location. The food is very good and they have a good selection of dishes. The beer is good as well. I always enjoy visiting micro breweries when I travel. To me the best thing was the staff and the other guests. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They seem to have a great group of regular guests here and I appreciate that as a good sign for a pub. All in all it was an excellent experience. read more

Though John, the CHP's original owner has retired, the gourmet food & his big influence remains the best on the lakeshore, but now with some several new interesting twists on the menu offerings. Still has the best perch in Wisconsin on Friday nights and the world's best cheese curds that are to die for; But future customers, don't think that John's raspberry dipping sauce is a decoration; This combo of light-fluffy-crunch and sauce is awesome. The service remains impeccable and is presented with unique and personal flare; But that may be because we tend to request Eric, the best waiter in the USA. But if you look around, he treats his other customers with his same Eric-level of professionalism & friendly wit as our table. Brock's wine selections have remained stellar without price increases. Ryan you're doing good! However, the second best food in town, though completely different and unique and always tasty is your alter ego competitor, 'Ryan's on York', but Eric needs to come sub-waiter over there on the days my wife and I visit to have the best soups and/or another new strange menu item to try. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Greeted promptly. Waitress never stopped smiling. Food came out quickly and was done to perfection. Fries were crispy and hot.
