I went to get my eyebrows waxed because they were the only place open on Sunday. Being open on Sunday is a plus. The women was nice. The value was awful. Most eyebrown waxes in the same area are $12-14. They charged $20 and asked to add a tip. It said it was $15 on the service menu. They tore the first layer of skin of on the bottom, above my eyelids. It burned and was painful. It ended up becoming very brown with scabs. It was noticable for days after. This doesn't happen at any other places I go in the Bridgeport. first off the woman who greeted me and later tried to perform my wax service was very rude and kept commenting on "how much hair i have" (duh lady that's why im here). the "esthetician" (and i use that term loosely) had no clue how to actually, safely remove hair with wax when i went. she didn't even wash her hands until i asked her to and i left halfway through the service. i ended up having to wax the rest myself. pretty sure this is just a brothel as the woman who greeted me was scantily dressed and smelled very sweaty. read more

I went on a Saturday on a Groupon from my boyfriend. Honestly, at first I was skeptical because it was on a lonely street by the highway and not too appealing. However, the place looked clean on the inside and the service was pretty good--limited English as often is the case but good enough to communicate and attentive. The man who fixed my neck within a few minutes changed my mind about the place. Then the lady who used hot stones created another milestone followed by her great face massage with a great smelling balm--never had one that long. Lastly, the sauna was a fantastic way to end the massage. It's rare that I leave a massage NOT sore at all. The place is simple and multiple people came in and out, but hey, multiple people seemed to give my boyfriend and I custom treatments without saying much, just based on our comfort and needs. I've been to a few massage places around this part of town and this one takes the cake! I made an appointment 45 minutes in advance and was greeted at the door. I paid up front and was led into the main room with a row of massage tables. My therapist used lotion on my neck to start, as well as did some gentle massaging of my face. The hand and arm work was extensive, and the foot work was too. My only regret is that I got the 60 minute instead of the 90, though my therapist managed to make me feel like a new person in a short amount of time. Bought a Groupon and had an additional discount because I was a student from Groupon but I tipped from the original price of the massage. Around the block there is parking The front desk area is pretty small They don't speak good English they use a translator on their phone. I don't mind it. They were accommodating even though I was late 15 mins. I love how they have late massages. The only problem I had was scheduling. I was on the phone for 15 mins trying to schedule. They didn't ask my name or phone number maybe she took it from caller id So I messaged them on fb to make sure and they replied within a day apologizing and making sure the appointment was set The day of the appointment I called to make sure I had an appointment and it was still confusing The people are really polite and respectful. The place has a hallway with massage chair and 2 rooms for massages and 1 room for a couples massage with a sauna for a 20 min sweat session They had a bin to place ur items in and when we forgot to put away jewelry we or they helped take it off and made sure we saw where the put it. The massage is good just ask for it deeper if u like or if u would like the led lights off the music was very relaxing. Over all, amazing ! This was a nice experience. A friend and I got 60 minute reflexology/massage sessions. The couple(?) that runs the business were thorough and proficient. Although they did a good job, I'm dinging a star for the language barrier. I feel like it is important to be able to communicate with your clientele, and not being able to do so could have been potentially disastrous. My friend was having difficulty breathing because of the non-elevated position of the massage table, and wasn't able to get that message across for a while. I don't know if others might have similar or unrelated issues, but it would be helpful to have someone there who speaks English well that could communicate any issues or concerns to the owners. Aside from that, I have no complaints, and would even return for another session. read more

I've been to this "spa" twice. The first time I had an over-the-clothes body and foot massage in a larger room with multiple massage tables and a disco (?!) ball. My masseuse was a gentleman and was amazing. It was one of the best massages I have had. I was covered with a blanket, the table was comfortable, and the pressure in the massage was perfect. The masseuse did not speak English but used his phone to translate. The second time I had a full body massage. I was directed into a smaller room in the back. Again, the masseuse did not speak English, but this time made no attempts to translate. I wasn't sure how naked I should get and so remained clothed until she came back and started laughing at me. The room itself was not as nice as the larger outer room. The massage table and especially the face cushion was not particularly comfortable. I was covered with a thin sheet and was cold throughout the massage. The massage was fine, not great. I tipped 20%, which ended up being $10. The masseuse immediately looked at the tip and pulled out a sign with emojis and began hassling me to tip $20. She was aggressive about it and frankly, it got the point where I thought there was going to be a situation. Can I afford $10 more? Sure. But not for an experience that was marginal at best. If you are going to hassle customers for a 40% tip (!!!), just raise your prices. But you will have to do a serious renovation and update to your facilities. I would have given the first massage 5 stars, but the second was 0 stars. I will not be back. read more

Weird. I purchased two 60-minute massages, one for me and one for my daughter. The Groupon price was $27 each. I called and made an appointment the same day (no caveat in the fine print) and explained that I had Groupons for the massages. We arrived ten minutes before the appointment time and the woman greeted us and asked us to have a seat. Then she asked for the Groupon and I showed it to her on my phone. Then she asked me how much I paid and I showed her the deal on the Groupon app. She said $27 for two for 60 minutes, no, no. Then she disappeared. It's now ten minutes past our appointment time and we are still sitting in the waiting room while they're still hashing it out. read more

This was a great massage and great value. I got the 90 minute foot and body massage. I was very happy until I tried leaving $8 for a tip on a $45 charge and was hassled to give her $10. I would have returned, but I think that is awkward to do. If you want a certain amount, then raise the price. Located in an area of Chicago that has not gone totally upscale--yet, Couple Relax Spa is a low-key, relaxing place that has never been crowded during the couple of times I have been there. The facility is new and extremely clean, with private massage rooms and a shower. The masseur who gave me an extraordinary 90-minute massage does not speak much English, but he is in tune with his clients, and he is one of the best massage therapists I have ever experienced. read more
