New Kitten

My new kitten had her first vet visit Monday at Coupland Veterinary Hospital and only $55 for vet check, deworm, diagnose and treat ear mites and all shots. They have always been great with other pets and didn't disappoint, including safety measures put in place for COVID. Both vets are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced and staff is always great. Only open Monday thru Wednesday. They do take walk-ins, but I'd recommend calling as they are excellent so usually stay busy.

When she arrived, my baby had a rush of energy and wanted to play outside in the grass. She assured me that it was okay to take our time and let her enjoy outside one last time. We sat and she listened to my stories about her life, and when she wanted to go inside, we went in and she was given the sedative. She was so peaceful and laid in her bed. Then, she passed while the doctor and I talked about her life and how wonderful she was. It was the hardest day of my life, but the easiest day of my sweet baby Gracie's. It was worth every penny. I have never seen such a peaceful ending. There are not words big enough to communicate my gratitude. The end of her life was so sacred, which is more than most of us people get. This has helped my grieving process immensely. I know for certain this was the best ending that could have been for my sweet angel. Thank you so much.

My horse Rusty and I came to Guarded Heart in 2018 and we stayed until I needed to move for a new job. I love this place! Quiet, safe, great personalized care from people who really, truly love horses. They have both English and Western boarders. A nice arena with sand footing and lights, a perimeter-of-the-property riding trail that is fenced and safe for younger riders to use to build confidence, and an obstacle course in the making to allow you to work your horse from the ground or the saddle. Have a small round pen, too. In the spring, the grass is amazing. The barn has a large breezeway for tacking up, etc... Lockers, too. Clint, Heather, Lexi, and Michael took such great care of my horse that I left him with them for over 6 months while I got my new place ready for him to occupy in another city. They have been more than I could ask for when it came to loving and caring for Rusty in my absence, even taking him to the vet for me when necessary!! My horse required special care for a medical problem and they came to my rescue. No group of people could be better! We are happy in our new place, but we miss our barn family more than I can say. Rusty and I had a lot of fun and made amazing friends during our time at GHF. My endorsement is wholehearted. Best Barn Ever!!!

I believe Liberty Hill has changed their policy to at least give OPTIONS to the pet owner. I'm sure that if needed them on a weekend, I would bring a pet there for some minor treatment. He starts making these deep throaty growls that make him seem more like a "feral hog" than a pug. It's scary sometimes the sounds he makes. It took three trips to this venue to finally get him acclimated to the team. Dr. McJett and her team is so patient and supportive of our little maniac. She has recommended so many helpful tips to help us. Our Max had an ear infection and he would not put us treat him at home. After several attempts, Dr. McJett was able to pack it and allow the healing to begin. At least to a point where we could start home treatment. Other local vets were unsuccessful. I Love the fact that they will always give you a price estimate upfront, before they start the service. No surprises. No "Invoice Shock". Just honest upfront cost reports. Right before her second surgery, I needed an emergency appointment because she ended up having a total TPLO tear just three days before the scheduled procedure. The team was incredibly responsive and got her in quickly, which made a very stressful situation feel under control and reassured me that she was in the best hands. Recovery is definitely not easy--it's a long and sometimes challenging process--but Dr. Might and his team made it so much more manageable. They provided clear step-by-step instructions and scheduled regular recheck appointments, which gave me confidence and peace of mind throughout the healing journey. I was also very pleased with the communication from his office--they kept me informed, answered all my questions, and were always supportive. My dog's leg is doing great, she is recovering now from the second surgery, and I'm so grateful for the care she received. Dr. Might and his staff are amazing--professional, compassionate, and highly skilled. I would absolutely trust them again--hopefully I won't need to, lol!--and I highly recommend them to anyone needing orthopedic surgery for their pet. Edited to address the Google review response from Argos and include a photo of the slip they gave…read moreme stating hand delivery not porch dropoff: I have a copy of the slip I was given which does not state a porch dropoff if we're not home. It states hand delivery or pickup from your location. Which means when you called to schedule a day I made sure to be home all day as to not miss the delivery. Also referring to someone's beloved pet by animal or package is disgusting. Use language like pet or my pets name. A person is grieving show some humanity for crying out loud. If you're not equipped to deliver, DONT OFFER IT! I would've rather picked him up from any location rather than gone with this. Also, call someone when you guys messed up immediately. Don't ignore the issue and then respond when they write a review. Then still not even have the humanity to call me in response to the review rather than that pathetic response, maybe I would've updated it to say something nice if you had. Its called damage control. My pet was cremated by Argos and scheduled to be delivered to our home on Monday. We waited all day anxiously awaiting to receive him and never received a followup. I called yesterday at 3pm and was told he was delivered. I was then texted a photo of the front door he was dropped off at. Not our house...I freaked out and my husband drove around the neighborhood until he found the house. THANKFULLY, the woman who lived there was trying desperately to reunite us via FB since there was no contact information for us or even an Argos logo anywhere except when you open the paw print box there is a certification he was cremated by Argos. I am absolutely horrified that my beloved pet was dropped off like a food delivery with such little care and no information to lead the recipient in the event that this incorrect delivery happened to get him home. Why is there no confirmation followup that he was delivered? Why don't they text or e-mail that door image promptly following delivery so he could have been reunited with us immediately?? Imagining that if someone wasn't kind enough and/or didn't realize what this delivery was had just thrown him away or left him on their porch to picked up by a package thief then discarded makes me absolutely sick. How dare you assume that I am okay with a porch dropoff?? I was told he would be HAND DELIVERED. Which means someone would give him to me with respect not left on our doorstep. To add insult, I was told yesterday around 3:30 I would receive a call from a manager and haven't heard from them. I completely question their ethics on how they care for our beloved pets and I am sickened by this whole ordeal.

Overall, if you must use this business, I highly suggest you Do Not purchase any of the "upgraded" packages. You will be severely disappointed, just as we were. We ordered the "Wood Package" which was to include a , "clay" paw print as stated on their website, however the one we got was a cheap planter type foam and the entire casing was very scratched. Its the ugliest thing and I don't see how anyone would think its ok to send it out this way. The package also includes a ink paw print, but its so severely smeared that it looks like someone just did it in an extreme hurry. (My toddler could've done better) but, thankfully I have my own prints that I managed to get the week before our dogs passing. And as for the "wood" urn, well no shocker, its also the cheapest and equally scratched up material. I would equate the feel to a balsa wood. I have since ordered a new wood urn online and its quality is 5x better than the junk Argos gave us. And no, it didn't cost 5x the price. It was the same amount we paid to "upgrade" our private cremation package. So its clear, that this place is either very cheap or simply lazy and careless when it comes to what they are selling. I will never allow any other pet of mine to be cremated at this facility.
