We tried the fried okra for a starter and the lobster tots were insane. Both were shareable, the lobster tots had 5 pieces. Several of us got the burgers and they were cooked perfectly with the best brioche bun. The food was amazing but even more impressive was their incredible waiters. Would highly recommend checking this place out.

We were seated in the booth next to the entrance. By that time there were many empty tables and lunch service was winding down. The bar remained full of what seemed to be regulars, based on interactions with staff. Despite groups of servers busing tables (4 servers and a hostess bussing a 2-top in front of us) and constantly walking by it was over 15 min before a server approached us. With the claim of "best burger in the south" we ordered 5 burgers and 1 hamburger steak. It took 40 min to receive our food. The crinkle-cut fries were very good. The burgers were large. We ordered at least one of every burger on the menu and nine lives up to the designation of best burger in the South. Every burger was overcooked and the buns were large but dry and crumbling. You must ask for condiments to dress your own burgers. Pickles, lettuce and onions are on the side. Bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. The pimento cheese was plentiful. The hamburger steak was a slice of meatloaf with onions and gravy, "nothing special". After receiving our food we did not see our waiter again (refills, condiments, etc) until we asked for out check. We were unable to get water refills during our meal but to-go waters were offered with the check. There is outdoor seating with umbrellas. Several TVs throughout the establishment. The menu offered a good number of options. With a large number of high-top tables, large bar and multiple TVs thiabwas a more casual atmosphere

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.

For as long as I can remember my family and I have visited this restaurant and had looked forward…read moreto out weekly visits. So, what I write below brings me NO pleasure. But, this place has changed and not for the better - I need to share why: Over the last couple of years the consistency in their food has gone from five stars to 1 for us and today was the last time we will ever go back and here is why: Service: Most of the people working there neither smile or greet you like they used to (even when the place is empty), they shove your plates at you across the counter and disappear. They girl (younger) seems to not comprehend the idea of focusing on taking the order and you have to repeat it over and over (it's still came out wrong - even when there is no customers?). Food: I loved their burger and fries - 3 time I have gone this month (busy, medium busy and no customers at different times in the day.) and all three times it has NOT been even close to what it was. For example: The hamburger meat falls apart the minute you bite into it, the bun is soaking wet with grease, the cheese causes everything to slide off (should you choose lettuce, tomato and etc). It actually becomes more like an accidental deconstructed hamburger than a real burger. The French Fries! They were awful: Burnt and the stale tasting (the oil was so old tasting - I almost threw up.) The fries also were hard as a rock! I have no idea what has caused the decline in portion size, flavors and overall cooking at this restaurant - but it is heartbreaking in a small town who seemed to spend time and money at this place. I would not recommend this place right now... Maybe they will fix the problem soon. I really hope they do.

Was told by my colleagues that the Parker house rolls and cinnamon butter was great. I had the summer salad (spring greens, cherries, strawberries, and a HUGE knot of burrata cheese, with an additional grilled salmon). This salad was incredible. Highly recommend! The table shared some deviled eggs. The pickled onions on the deviled eggs was so good. Everyone dipped their fries in the chili crisp oil and agreed it was one of the best flavor combos of the trip. Our server gave us an extra side of it and gave my friend a side of kimchi to add to his burger. Just great all around service and vibe. While the restaurant feels like the height of 2015-2020 design (let's road trip in our sprinter van to a shipping container cottage!), everything feels airy and good to be there

The hostess was warm and efficient, seating us immediately. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.

We were traveling thru town with a small camper, plenty of parking which is alway a plus. Not because they weren't busy though. I have a new allergy to shellfish and this has changed my dining experience everywhere we go. My FIRST question in any restaurant is always, do you use the same grease for shrimp/shellfish as you do other foods? The lady at the front walked to the back, a gentleman (assuming the cook ALSO the manager or even owner) came up front, clarified my allergy and assured me that he took allergies seriously and he NEVER mixes shrimp with mainstream fried food, chicken, fries, onion rings. I was sold at this point! The waitress seated us, promptly took our order, food was fast and hot, huge portions and delicious! We added to our order after food came to the table, because it was that good! The cook/owner personally brought the second round as he also checked on the quality of all the food. He was very nice and personable. We will definitely be back anytime we're in the area again! I ate BBQ and husband has catfish.
