Well, if you are in Pueblo, the Country Kitchen is a good bet for breakfast. The presence of plenty of locals points to repeat business, which is better than a review on Yelp. It is easy to find, on a service road running parallel to I-25 at the US 50 West exit. The space has plenty of seating--booths, tables, a counter--nothing fancy but comfortable. The server seated us right away and brought hot coffee, leaving a thermos of coffee for us to refill at will. Offerings on the menu covered the waterfront with a few daily specials standing out. We got the country breakfast--2 eggs, 2 pieces of french toast, and hash browns--they even have an option to get twice that amount in one order, though I can imagine eating 4 eggs, 4 pieces of french toast, and a double order of hash browns in one sitting. The food was served in no time, nice and hot, and more than we could eat; we asked for a takeout box. We could have sat there relaxing over coffee and conversation, as other patrons were doing, but had to keep heading down the road, so we took off after a most satisfying breakfast. This place had some amazing reviews-- and for good reason! Their food was fantastic! I had the farm skillet -- a heap of hash browns, two eggs, onions, bell peppers, and sausage! They also have a homemade salsa that is out of this world with just the right amount of sauce! The barn buster has four eggs, a heap of hash browns, bacon and sausage, and your choice of toast or pancakes. We had four large pancakes that were perfectly sweet. They also have a lighter menu for seniors or "those with a smaller appetite." This menu has all their favorite menu items just smaller in size. Hannah was our server and she was great! She got all of our food correct and checked in on us after we received our food. They also have an extensive lunch and dinner menu if you're not in the mood for breakfast! I was in Pueblo last Monday (4/17/23). I had Country Kitchen before in Dickinson, North Dakota. I found it to be a quite a nice surprise for classic American diner food. This is the only location in Colorado. I ordered the beef pot roast dinner with a cup of soup. The soup was cream of broccoli. I found it to be decent. For my main course, I got beef pot roast smothered with gravy, along with the garlic mashed potatoes. I thought both of them to be quite well prepared. The beef itself was tender and properly cooked. The mashed potatoes came from fresh red ones. I got steamed broccoli, and added the gravy onto it. I also enjoyed the dinner rolls. The service was extremely fast, which was great. The restaurant itself had the dining interior of a traditional Midwest family restaurant. I'm from Michigan originally, and recognized the aesthetic. I'd recommend stopping at this place for travelers along the I-25 corridor. read more

Exemplary service This was the first time that we had gone to a Country Kitchen. We will go again. Having been a road salesman I have been to dozens of Denny's and Village Inns, etc. The reason wasn't the food, although most of it was pretty good. I found that eating there alone I didn't feel creepy. CKR is like Denny's but with more items on the menu. We chose to split a "breaded cod" basket and a side of onion rings. I guess they call it that instead of fish and chips because they have no malt vinegar. You could tell that everything was cooked to order except for the fries. The food was good. The portion was large. The bland tartar sauce was not. Our female wait person was terrifically attentive. All personnel were working fervently. I see now why this place is so busy. read more

We (a table of 2) came in (were not greeted or anything) and sat down at a booth, waitress brought us drinks and forgot about us. We sat in the restaurant for an hour. She ran around and helped her other tables and spoke with regulars but completely disregarded us. We watched several tables of 2-4 be sat, eat and leave. As we walked out our waitress cleared our table and used it to tie her shoe. This is by far the worst restaurant either of us have been to. read more

They Ambiences, your typical Gracie spoon with most of the customers being 65 and older at one point in time. This was a wonderful place to sit down and have a little afternoon breakfast or a belly full before or after church. Unfortunately, there's a new owner he is gotten rid of the senior citizen discount. He also got rid of the veterans discount within a week of him taking over service. The customer service has dropped it takes a few minutes to get your drink order than it trickles on from there, loud older waitresses with attitudes. This isn't shocking knowing the employees are treated badly when hired being told they will make more money to start then low balled when they are hired on. Management creating a hostile work environment by making up policies that don't exhist, changing hours reducing hours for the convenience of management and for the owners relatives to work. At one time this was one of your places that your kids with their allowance money used to be able to buy their grandparents breakfast or lunch, but prices have gone up and now no discounts for our hard working retired population and veterans. The quality of the food (not the cooking so much as the product ) you would be lucky to get potatoes with fresh flavor, more often than not they're not even cooked all the way through. This is a shame, because we really used to like coming here. read more

Opens at 8 we got there at 9 wait was stated 35-40 minutes, we were seated in 15-18. My wife and I do a lot of road trips. When your looking for a breakfast place the number of cars outside is usually a good sign. We saw the crowd, looked it up on yelp and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. They put a carafe of coffee on your table, you do your own refills. We had the standard eggs hash browns and I had sausage, she had bacon, I had the pancakes and her the biscuits. It was hot and fresh. The pancakes were light and very tasty. Next time I'm in Pueblo and looking for breakfast this is the spot. read more
