Wow, so we haven't been to Two Sisters since they moved to Penrose. We decided to give them a shot as we were looking for something new to add to our rotation. Came in about 11:30 and they gave us the breakfast menu. I was planning on ordering from that, so that was fine, but I would have expected to get both the breakfast and lunch menus. I could have asked for it, but still annoying. The only reason I knew they were serving lunch is that I heard someone else order french fries. Anyway, they only have natural sodas - which aren't my thing - so I ordered water. Luckily I sipped it as they literally only asked if we wanted refills after we were done eating. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Skillet, which had potatoes, the chicken fried steak itself, country gravy, toast and eggs. The food came out in less than 10 minutes, which in itself seemed odd. Anyway, the food: Eggs: I took one bite and barely choked it down. They were thin and dry and had a weird texture. Toast: You can't mess up toast, but it came with a tiny thing of grape jelly (barf) Chicken Fried Steak: Rather than give you a full steak like you would expect, they chopped it up into very tiny bits. I didn't count, but felt like I had less than 10 tiny bites of steak. What I got tasted okay I guess. Potatoes: About half the potatoes were very hard and undercooked. Some of the pieces were okay but after eating a few of the harder ones I just gave up on them. Gravy: The gravy was the best part of the skillet, honestly. Rich in flavor and actually warm. Service was meh. I had to wave her down to check out - after she'd walked by our table several times. We won't be back. The food wasn't worth the price, especially when you leave still hungry. read more

I haven't been to this place since it moved to Penrose. They are right off Hwy 115 in a big building with a country vibe and lots of parking. I have to say it was a truly terrible experience this time around. Bland, basic and barely warm. I ordered Huevos Rancheros which consisted of two small flour tortillas (on the side), some scrambled eggs (definitely not freshly made, they were slimy and lukewarm), green chile (actually not bad), a hash brown patty (tiny and barely warm) and the driest, grosses pile of refried beans ever - topped with unmelted dried out cheese (also barely warm). The hubby did the chicken fried steak skillet (as it was the only choice for chicken fried steak). He found that he only had a few pieces of steak, the same weird scrambled eggs and diced potatoes that were half cooked. We also had pretty scarce service. Only got asked if we wanted refills after we asked for the check (sat there with no drinks for awhile). Also, got there at 11:30a and they made us eat off the breakfast menu (maybe lunch is better), but it seemed weird. I don't know what has happened to this place, but breakfast used to be their best thing, not anymore. Incredibly bad on all fronts. read more

This place is incredible. It feels like an old time diner. The waitress was very busy all the times I ate there but very personable and efficient. Their cinnamon rolls make the ones at DIA a joke. The Juevos Rancheros were amazing. Just the right amount of heat and plenty of everything. I had a side of biscuits and gravy that was outstanding! I visited on a Saturday with a group of people from our local Z owners' club. We had made a reservation ahead of time for our drive, and we were seated very quickly. The food here is delicious though. Their chips and salsa use homemade tortilla chips and they are FANTASTIC. I could not stop snacking on these, and they are definitely worth getting for the table. For my main, I had the Florence. I thought this was a bunch of different BBQ meats that just came together, but to my surprise it was actually served on a burger bun. It was piled high with meat though, and the meat was flavorful and juicy. Definitely a burger that you should try though. For my side, I had mac and cheese and it was DELICIOUS. It was super creamy and savory, and I wanted more. The highlight though was the pie a la mode by far. A huge slice of apple pie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was an excellent way to end the meal. Overall, I'm very happy we stopped here on our drive. read more

We stopped at Two Sisters on the way home to Denver from Albuquerque. We wore masks and waited in line. The restaurant sat EVERYONE else before us and then just let us stand out there and wait. It was the rudest thing I have ever seen. They sat people who came there way after us. We left in disgust. I will never stop there again. I don't know what their problem is. read more

Stopped in Florence to see what's here. Ended up at Two Sisters for lunch. If you remember family road trips in the 70s/80s and eating at places your parents could afford, this is the place for you. Waitress was friendly, service was prompt. I had the buffalo burger which I recommend. Good food at good prices- a winner! Also community oriented- a couple of high schoolers stopped in to ask for a raffle prize while I was eating. They walked away with a gift certificate a few minutes later. read more

The breakfast club was a party of three today and we went to Florence Colorado. Two Sisters is is cute rustic restaurant we heard about and let me tell you, it's a gem of a restaurant. I had the early bird special one egg on sausage and one slice of bacon and a pancake. I switched out the pancake for the pecan waffle and this was the best waffle so far. The pecans were toasted with a salt type ingredient I'm not sure and forgot to ask but it was good. They have a small salad bar set up with lots of space. Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Really cute, clean old time restaurant. We ordered a bowl of red chili. Now I love soup, but rarely order in restaurants because it is usually too small of a helping for a meal and cold. This is not the case at Two Sisters!! The bowl was HUGE and piping hot and even better, DELICIOUS! We also ordered the homemade chips and salsa which were excellent and hot as they were just made in the back. One note of caution, I think their chips are flour based, so not good if you are gluten free. But they were delicious. I highly recommend this place. The food was ok but the service was so unwelcoming. Our server wasn't rude, just slow and acted like it was a bother. My soda had no carbonation, so I requested ice tea. I wasn't upset because those things happen, but the server didn't seem happy about it. A few minutes after our food was ordered, she came back to say they didn't have any avocado and was that ok. Again, those things happen. I had chosen the sandwich because I wanted avocado, so I asked her for the menu so I could order something else. I felt like she was annoyed that I wanted something different. Then when we got our checks they weren't itemized, just a total that included tax. Someone else (a MUCH nicer, friendlier lady) checked me out and I questioned the total....sure enough she overcharged me $1.60. I only had 2 items and it made me wonder how many other customers get overcharged and don't catch it because they don't itemize. I was with out of state guests and we ate out several times during their visit. We had good service and some really great service at other restaurants. This was the worst service any of us have had in a long time. Very disappointing because we all were expecting friendly service in such a quaint little town diner. Even if the food had been outstanding I would not go back just because of the unfriendly service we received. read more

Decided to try a new restaurant and was craving chicken fried steak and eggs. The family and I thought that we'd try Two Sisters. It is the day after the 4th and we were expecting it to be busy due to the holiday. We were seated quickly and served our drinks, then we waited 15 minutes for our orders to be taken. I started noticing that there was not much food coming out of the kitchen and that the place only seemed busy because they were so slow. 45 minutes after ordering, our food finally came out. My meal was not inedible, but was not good either. The gravy was bland and the chicken fried steak was not hot and crispy. The hash browns were mushy in the middle and the browned parts were so hard that I couldn't chew them. When we went to check out at the register the same waitress that served us rang us up. It is uncomfortable to have your server watch you as you write down what their tip is. Over all I was not impressed with the service or food, and will not have any desire to go back. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone that I care for. read more
