Cute little coffee shop! Had to come to Canyon city to go to LabCorp and stop here on the way back. Had to get a coffee and buy coffee I mean London fogg latte. The barista is so sweet and the shop was 10 out of 10. Be warned, Apple Maps will take you to the wrong place, use Google maps instead. It is not by the city market. It's closer to the main road. read more

Cafe Belay is a gem of a coffee shop! We stopped here on our way back up from a bike ride at the Royal Gorge. Espresso was fantastic! We had a flat white and a chai. Great attention to coffee craftsmanship, the barista was training a new employee while we were there and we enjoyed hearing the details he was explaining about coffee. We also had two breakfast burritos, which were great. Climbing decor was really cool. We also enjoyed the games, played some mancala while we enjoyed our food. Delightful shop, definitely worth a stop in! We will be back next time we're in Cañon. read more

Need a place to hang out and get caffeinated before riding the Royal Gorge Train? THIS IS THE BEST SPOT IN TOWN! Easily one of the best coffee shops I visited during my trip to CO. See below to learn why. WHAT WE ORDERED: * Affogoto ($4.25) * Cappuccino ($4.25) * Medium Cold Brew ($4.50) PROS: * Delicious, fresh and high-quality coffee all around. They roast their beans to ensure freshness and quality. * They serve the best affogato I've had in years. * Their baked goods are soft and delicious. Chef's kiss! * Everything is very well-priced for the high-quality coffee you'll receive. * The inside of the cafe is adorable and has enough seating for two handfuls of humans. * The service is impeccable. Both baristas were wonderful and attentive, but the dude with dirty blond hair and blue eyes was a gem. He gave us free baked goods! He also gave us some great suggestions of things to check out during our trip. CON: * Put a tad too much milk in the cappuccino read more

If you are not in a hurry, you should come for the quality beverages and great baristas!!! If you need a quick bite with your beverage, maybe checkout another local spot? The food selection was super limited on the morning I visited, only 3 muffin type choices in the case. I saw someone get severed a panini but never saw it on the wall menu. I'll try it again next time I'm in town, maybe I visited on an off day? read more

Great coffee and great people! The staff is so nice! Also great because there's gluten free bakery items!

Made-for-you craft coffee, classic homemade baked goods, climbing gear and information galore, and the feeling of being in community-- that's what makes me love this place. Cafe Belay is a must stop for me every time I visit Cañon City (or pass by on the way Shelf Road.) On my first visit I tasted the best matcha latte I've ever had, and the owner walked me through how he sampled and sourced the finest of green tea powders. He then offered me several samples of his new vegan, gluten-free blueberry muffins and asked for feedback (they were delicious and a glimpse at how accommodating to dietary restrictions Cafe Belay is.) From there, I was given a glut of local climbing knowledge and recommendations from staff and strangers alike, and enjoyed the cafe's calming, green aesthetic (including a bench made from old bouldering pads.) My experience felt valued, and I could tell great effort was put into the food and drink served to me. Since then, I've brought all my friends to Cafe Belay whenever we're in the area and have yet to have a disappointed guest. I recommend the matcha latte and chia pumpkin bread (though everything I've tried to date has been a winner!) read more

Perfectly crafted coffee. I love coming to this cafe and seeing members of the climbing community. read more

Stopped in on the way to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. This was the best latte i've ever had ! The barista was very knowledgeable and answered my questions about the beans he was using (i bought a bag to use at home and they are really good!). It's a little small inside but a good amount of seating. 10/10 would recommend and can't wait to visit again! read more

Highly recommend. Stopped in this shop while we were passing through town and we were pleasantly surprised. We got an americano and a chai and not only were both the drinks amazing but the staff were super welcoming and a good vibe to be around as well. Highly appreciate the attention to detail - repulling a shot that was off and the chai tastes like it's home made! Definitely will be back when we are in the area!! read more

Amazing coffee and ambiance! Owner is clearly passionate about coffee. Highly recommend.

This place is like a kiss from a coffee bean. The mint green walls are a warm hug- soothing and energizing- and you feel like your bathing in a cloud of green matcha while finding rest from the cold outside world. The rejuvenating Redpoint roast is nectar complied from all that is divine on this green earth. The soft smiles from Spencer and Makayla behind the bar, crafting each drop with precision, make you feel like Cafe Belay is exactly where you should be. One would not be exaggerating to describe Cafe Belay as evidence of God. read more
