What a special little gem in Hico! 2nd Street is so much more than a coffee spot. It's a nonprofit,…read moredonation-based space where you can enjoy delicious coffee and bread while also supporting a beautiful mission. What I loved most is the sense of community here. It's a place where people can gather, connect, and help support those who may need a little extra kindness and generosity. Knowing that something as simple as stopping for a cup of coffee can help pour back into the community makes the experience that much sweeter. Great coffee, delicious bread, wonderful people, and an even better purpose. Definitely worth a stop when you're in Hico!

My wife and I were on our way home from Glen Rose, TX and decided to stop by for some breakfast…read moreto-go. The name on Yelp of this restaurant needs to be changed to "2nd Street Social." It's right next door to where the address on the Yelp Page will take you, but it is formerly the "Bakeshop." The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. We were looking forward to patio seating given we had our pup with us, but the restaurant didn't have any, so we opted for drive-thru. The restaurant itself has a small parking lot. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

Wiseman House Chocolates - Hico, TX…read more This chocolate was requested by White House during Inauguration. This place is for connoisseurs of chocolate. It's a cute home, turned into chocolate store. When you first walk in, someone from staff greets you with a Texas Hospitality. You have multiple room options to go and explore their variety of white, dark and milk chocolates. Each chocolate is carefully crafted with only natural ingredients. If you're a connoisseur of cigars, you'll appreciate their selection of cigar-shaped chocolates. Most of the chocolates are inspired after the great state of Texas. But they offer much more than just chocolate. Most of their products is organic. They offer sauces, candles, soaps, colognes, and more. Stop by to find out all they offer. I stopped by here and bought Top 6, Signature Truffle Collection, "Wild Woman," (Bold & Dark). "Texas Pecan," (Native Pecans). "Love Potion," (Cinnamon Ancho & Chipotle). "Snooky," (Coffee & Kahlua). "Dark Rufus," (Fruity Undertones). "Southern Hospitality," (Jack Daniels). And if you're a dark chocolate connoisseur, stop by and pick up their great selection of dark options. I also grabbed, "Sea Salt, Almonds, & Dark Chocolate," bar with 55% Cacao. If you prefer to shop from comfort of your home, feel free to contact them and see what shipping options they offer.
