As someone who runs a business, I can tell you this place is a blueprint for bad management, poor priorities, and disrespect toward paying customers. We bought the family pass hoping to enjoy the summer, but almost every single time we tried to use it, we were turned away. Not once. Not twice. Every time. The lanes were packed with league bowlers or regular-paying customers. It's obvious they favor leagues and pros while treating pass holders like an afterthought. That's not just bad service, it's a slap in the face to families and beginners. Their hours are ridiculously short, and the season ends in August, giving you barely three months to use the pass. Compare that to Shasta Lanes, which runs May through October and has 24 lanes (Country Bowl only has 16). At Shasta Lanes, we use out family pass and bowled every single day, no drama, no excuses. That's how you honor a pass. And here's the real kicker: - Shasta Lanes opens earlier almost every day and maintains consistent midday hours. - Country Bowl has sporadic hours, often opening late during league hours or closing early, especially problematic for families trying to plan outings. - Shasta's season is twice as long, giving pass holders far more chances to bowl. - Country Bowl's setup is poorly planned in comparison, and it shows. Let's talk about customer service? Country Bowl's staff literally grabbed my phone to "verify" who's using the pass, like I'm trying to cheat. Hands all over my device, every visit. It's invasive, rude, and completely unnecessary. Meanwhile, the place is crawling with drunks, making it uncomfortable for families. Seating is cramped, the food is overpriced frozen junk, and the whole vibe is off. Now let's talk about Shasta Lanes. The owner personally checks in with us, says hello, and makes sure we're having a good time, every time. Their fries are actually good, the menu is fresh and fairly priced, and the staff treat you like a valued guest, not a problem. They even honored my wife's coupon from our pass, even when she wasn't bowling so I can practice my shots. That's real customer service. That's respect. Country Bowl is outdated, overcrowded, and clearly built around league favoritism. If you're not a pro or part of a league, you're invisible. That's not how you build loyalty. That's not how you run a business. And that's exactly why we'll never go back. If you want real value, longer hours, better food, and a place that actually respects your money, go to Shasta Lanes. I had a great date night here with my wife. We went on a weekday so it was not crowed with plenty of bowling balls to chose from. I met the owner Anthony, he was a couple of lanes down from us playing a round. We talked a little bit about possible sponsorship opportunities for my company. The employees behind the counter didn't seem super happy or energetic to be there but the service was good. We're from out of town and we appreciated the classic, no frills nature of this bowling alley (no loud music or screens). Clean place with retro feel, staff is helpful. Just went here today, been here a few times before as well, really enjoyed the atmosphere, even if the music was not my thing, I had fun w/ my friends playing bowling and some arcade games (like Mario Kart GP) the food was good, and the people here were nice, I'll will always remember the one time where I had payed my money into a snack vending machine and, despite having the full amount in and typed in the right code, no snack came out---so I went to someone who worked here and was very nice enough to get the snack out for me. Yesterday I had the best BLT SANDWICH. AT THE BOWLING ALLY the staff actually looks happy they were glad to see you. I was greeted by the owners mom. Omg what a pleasant lady she told me she making my Blt the way she would want it. It was great. The new owners have stepped up to make this place great. It's clean freshly painted. This is a pretty clean place with pretty good prices but the tables are waaaay too small and there really isn't any room if you are just sitting and watching the people bowling. We had our daughters birthday party here today, and although we made the best of it, we won't have another party here. We scheduled her party two weeks ago and I checked in on three different occasions to clarify information re: pricing and time of party. I even called this morning to give a final headcount, get final pricing, and confirm the time slot for our party package. Long story short, all of the party details given to me were incorrect, it was more expensive, and lacking space for bowling for the additional children I confirmed. The service was also curt and somewhat abrasive, and the food was overpriced for what was provided. I'm not trying to complain, just trying to give a fair warning to families to GET CLEAR DETAILS! Ask specific questions about the pricing (I was told 13$/child if over the 10 included for the party package, but it was 18$/child), the time the party starts and ends (I was told noon-1:30, but it was actually noon-2:30, which left a bunch of hungry/tired kiddos. They do not put the food out until a certain time, which for us was about 1 1/2 hours after we got there.), and how many lanes you get (any number over 10 will NOT be provided a spot to put their name on a prompter to bowl their turn, even if you payed for the shoes, food & drink package for them). Just to give an idea, my son and his GF paid separately for a lane to bowl (several lanes away) and he said they paid 12$ for BOTH of them. For an additional child to bowl with our party (over the 10 allotted), it was 13$/per child to bowl, plus another 3$/child for a hotdog (no toppings other than mustard and ketchup), and 2$/child for a soda (no refills). Luckily, our group is very easy going and we made the best of keeping our kids engaged while getting through the party. On a positive note, the kids loved bowling! read more

If you join league you will meet all sorts of great people, its a great family enviroment, The bartendar is super funny, the food is great, and such a great variety, prices are reasonable, staff will help you find a ball that will suit your needs. Big variety of kids bowling balls as well, The party rooms are very nicely decorated, and roomy and private so thats a plus. Bathrooms are kept very clean, machines run great, and customer service is exceptional. Also on saturdays they put these red pins in, if we got a strike, that person won a free game! My family and I decided to treat the kids to bowling. We get there and there is a wait, no big deal. The kids play 2 of the games because that's all that works. We ordered very over priced fries to get a handful. Customer service was very poor and that's being nice, the lady and gentleman that were behind the counter were having a personal conversation and after saying excuse me 3 times we finally got help. Let me say first that our group had a lot of fun and for the most part, the staff was friendly. With 5 people, including a child, we were able to rent shoes, play 2 rounds and buy food and drinks for around $60. That's all fine and great. BUT.. The older man at the counter with the glasses was incredibly rude and offered some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Upon reaching the counter to check out shoes and lane, we greeted the guy with a hello and he proceeds to glare in our general direction and then turns his back to us to take in the view of the rest of the bowling alley. After an awkward 15-20 seconds, he finally turns to us and with the most annoyed voice and asks while shrugging and shaking his head "Can I help you?". And while asking us for shoe our shoe sizes, I swear, he'd roll his eyes at every response as if "10 and a half please" or "my shoe size is 10" was an insult. When we later returned to pay for our shoes and games, and I can't make this up, the gentleman let out the deepest sigh, did not say a word, and stormed off. And I get it..people have bad days but this guy was a PRICK. I have never had such small interactions sour my whole experience. Go to Shasta Lanes instead and avoid the headache! read more

Went to my Granddaughters 8th Birthday Party this past weekend and had a great time! Although, it had nothing at all to do with the staff or facilities. The place was a dump and the staff was rude. Paid $140. For 8 shoe rentals. 8 games bowled total. And 3 pizzas. When I went to the counter to ask for 2 pitchers of Ice water I was told "we don't do that" when I asked to speak to the manager the lady got on the phone to get him. Awful. Went there for the first time with my girlfriend, and to start off looked dingy to begin with. As we went to get our shoes, the woman at front was impatient and snappy. (Although surprising the nicest one there) bartender interrupted me as i was ordering a drink, and also extreamly impatient. Everyone that worked there (food service, front desk, bartender) was extreanly rude. Bowling balls are extreamly limited, either for a 5 year old girl or the hulk. Beer was foamy. Had 4 different problems with the lanes: pins wouldnt reset, wouldnt enter in my name, wouldnt let bumpers up for my girlfriend who was bowling for the second time ever, and wouldnt return balls. Best thing about this place is probably the food. Which is moderate at best. Only reason this place gets 1 star is because i cant go lower. Dont ever go here, and i wont ever return. read more

I recently took my husband here for his birthday and noticed something wonderful right from the start. There was a group of developmentally disabled people who apparently frequent there regularly and the entire staff treat each of them like family. The place was well kept up and the staff rocked. DO NOT GO HERE! I'm a 21 year college student and was in town visiting family and friends. Me and a group of friends from Redding who were also visiting and some who still lived here decided to go bowling. We said hello to worker who was standing outside and she looked us in our eyes and said absolutely nothing. Walking into the place already caught off guard by rudeness we go to the cashier who literally shakes his head at us and grudgingly gives us shoes. I almost said something to him but didn't. The workers would often glance over with dirty looks. Me and my friends weren't doing anything to deserve this treatment. If that wasn't already bad a female worker followed me and a friend of mine into the bathroom... Didn't even use to toilet. They probably assumed we were high school kids but even then why the horrible treatment. Almost asked for the manager but the manager was also in on the dirty stares and head shakes.
