This is the best bowling alley I've ever been to. Great staff, great prices, and lanes as far as they eye can see. And the guy running the place when I was there bears a more-than-passing resemblance to The Dude. You know who I'm talkin' about! I have been going here for years with friends and family and this has always been everyone's favorite bowling alley in town. The service is always great and have never had an issue. On Feb. 25 I went in during the later afternoon with my family and some friends. Bryce helped us get started and was amazing. Every time we come, he is doing everything and still in a great mood. The bartender was really sweet and the older woman working the snack bar was also great. Everything was good until one of our kids balls got stuck in the gutter and the bumpers came up so it was pinned in there. We asked a lady (white, heavy, 200 lbs, shorter like 5'3") who didn't look very busy and was wandering from the snack bar to the shoe section to help us get it out. She said to ask Bryce who we looked over to and appeared to be very busy. We waited for Bryce but he was just helping too many people so the lady said she would take care of it. We went back to our lane and she came over and made a sassy remark that we were going to break the bumpers and then slid all over the lane trying to get the ball and didn't even walk on the center part to avoid sliding all over the place. My daughter spilt her water in the midst of all of this so we asked the lady to also bring some towels over so we could clean it. The lady avoided the question and said drinks are only allowed on the carpet. I told her we had already set the water on the counter so now we just need towels so someone doesn't slip. She said we would need to go to the food counter and ask someone for a towel and then ask Bryce to help with the ball rather than her just asking or getting them for us... we ended up asking Bryce for towels and help getting the ball when he was finished with his customers and he happily got the ball and mopped the floor all within like five minutes. I'm not sure what that lady's deal was but she definitely does not fit in with the vibe all of her awesome coworkers give off. read more

Really fun place to go to with your friends, the prices for bowling isn't that bad, you can get quite a few games out of the cost of one match. The interior decoration and gaming software could use an update because some of the games did not function correctly on the board and the design of the room is quite old; but the customer service and the food is amazing, they play good music, and all in all we had a great time. They have a pool table and host really fun family nights with awesome strobe lights to boot. I highly suggest trying this place out, you'll have a blast. read more

I personally would not ever come to these lanes because of the dishonestly of the management/owners. A review was placed on here back in December regarding some bad treatment that was given to a friend of mine and not only was the review taken down (I can't find it anymore), but the person was banned from the lanes unless he changes/writes a good review. I have always been under the impression that Yelp was put in place to help us, the consumer, find the best locations to spend our hard earned money. For this business to ban someone for writing an honest review is telling me that they don't want the public knowing what is really going on inside of their establishment. Maybe they should try to offer some better customer service or accept the fact that they need to try harder. read more

Shasta Lanes is far and away the best bowling alley in the area. The employees have definitely improved over the last few months, and the cosmetic upgrades have made it a very fun place to visit. Not to mention the ownership is honest and they've always been able to answer my questions. The food is great and there is a wide variety of things to choose from. Also, the prices are excellent for what you get. I definitely know that Shasta Lanes is the only bowling alley I will be visiting when I'm in Redding! read more

I use to come here all the time, they became a terrible business. Asian dude who works at the counter is stuck up and when they changed the bowling lanes they screwed the place up. Grant is the only good guy here. Place went downhill so far in the last few months, music is terrible as a bonus. The bathrooms are disgusting, the kitchen is terrible. They never wash their hands when they work with food, cash and their phones. Employees are constantly on their phones. One is always chain vaping and does not care what you have to say. They do not treat you warmly everything seems to be a chore for them. I will never be coming back, or giving them another cent. Terrible business with terrible employees. read more

With all the Covid 19 rules we were not sure what to expect but had a wonderful birthday celebration for my nephew here. Recently remodeled and super clean, the staff we so thoughtful and even gave the birthday boy an old pin and a Sharpie for us to all sign our birthday wishes to him. Great fun in a weird world! With the occasional glitch in the system, the bowling itself is fine. I would NOT recommend the food or the bar, since you're likely to be given something you didn't even order, plus they take forever. One of the bartenders, whose name I don't know, has no idea what any cocktail is. I tried ordering a Negroni, which he had never heard of. I then tried ordering a Tom Collins, which he also never heard of. Finally, I settled for a cranberry vodka, which he almost seemed like he didn't know how to make. Put short, if you come here strictly for the bowling and nothing else, it's a good place, but unless you want to have a bad experience, then order anything other than beer and fries. read more

We had a scheduled birthday party for my son here and when we showed up they were not prepared for us at all. There was no table set up and we waited a while for lanes. I finally had to threaten to leave in order to get a table set up for our guests. When the kids arrived it took over 20 mins for them to get shoes so no one started bowling until 30 mins after the party started. Then to "make it up to us". They extended our party 30 mins which was really the two hours we paid for anyways. I was told we couldn't bring drinks in but every other party there did so... I bought drinks but they charged me 6.25 for a pitcher of water after I bought 4 pitchers of Soda.. Needless to say I won't be back... read more

Shasta Lanes is the place to be! Friendly staff and they go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. Lady behind the front desk always has a smile on her face which is very rare now a days. Rock n bowl is super fun but recommend coming in atleast 30 minutes early it gets packed on the weekends fast! Looking at the reviews I don't see how someone can write fake reviews on this place! The only reason I'd come back here is because they played Sirius XM Octane on the stereo. Getting correct shoe size is a joke. The ball selection is horrible and they turn the lights off on the weekend and I can't see the arrows in the lane. Went here Saturday the 2ND of January 2021. It was good. Staff was very helpful and when I ordered something they brought it to our lane. We got chicken strips Fry's and Fried mushrooms. None were the best. It was Okay for sure. But going here I don't expect that. It met all my family's needs had a little greedy food and bowled a couple rounds. Expecting to have fun and enjoy the last night with family here and bowl. We proceed to the cashier to get lanes for the family but was treated with bad service by the cashier. As proceeded to grab lanes, we wanted to pay separately so we can keep track of the games and the fee per game the cashier said that it's "mandatory" to pay together and not separate. To make matters worse, we have to keep getting up to go to the cashier to help fix the problem with the games but somehow the cashier had the audacity to say that they was having problem with the computer. But what's funny was that how is everyone else that's bowling, their game is going fine without needing to asking for service but only our game was having problems. I cannot recommend this place to go anymore unless my family or friends force me to. Why exactly, mainly because of the poor service I received just yesterday at this location. The lady working the kitchen that day was incredibly rude. What happened was that I ordered chicken strip with fries and mozzarella sticks for me and my friends as snacks. I paid approximately seventeen dollars and told the lady to keep the change there. I than left and walked back to my friends after that. 45 minutes goes by, I think okay I understand its busy so I'll give her a little more time, don't want to rush or bother her. 20 minutes until closing, I finally go up and ask her if our food is ready yet to which she gives me an attitude saying i already gave you your food, you told me you were lane 18. That is hogwash, I never gave her a lane number because I left shortly after telling her to keep the change as a tip for her. She must have mistaken me for another Asian guy at lane 18 because we were wearing the same clothing. I apologized as a courtesy but she gave me an extremely poor attitude saying she'd make it for me real quick. So I went back to my friends to wait. I will say though, she did a good job with the food but here's the thing, my friend was watching her and saw that she wiped her face and nose while making our food. This is in the middle of a pandemic where the delta strain has already reached our county. Very disappointed because I have visited this place ever since I was a kid. read more

I just took my two sons here to bowl on a Tuesday night at around 6pm and we were told that all lanes were booked and that we would not be able to bowl there. The website proudly states that on Tuesdays from 5pm to close it is "open bowl", the place had half of the lanes empty with nobody bowling on them at all, but we were turned away because we aren't in a league. So they advertise for open lanes for anyone to use but then reserve the lanes for teams that aren't even there and turn away customers with cash in hand. So that seems like false advertising, it can't be "open bowl" if they just reserve all the lanes for people on a league. read more

This place was overwhelmingly disappointing. I came down from Portland looking for a fun activity to do with my little brother. We waited in line to purchase some games and shoes and not one of the three employees working up there came to help us. We got completely ignored. After they realized we weren't just going to go away, we got subpar disrespectful service. The man helping didn't even listen to the answers for the question he asked. I had to tell him my shoe size three different times. No one in there enjoyed there job and did their best to make sure no one enjoyed their time there. read more
