There are a lot of really experienced, older players and mixed in a lot of young sharp players. The management and integrity of the games are first rate. They conduct a fair event with total respect to all players and in return, I see all players having a lot of respect for the management and people that put on the tournament. I would highly recommend 99 tournaments. Enjoy meeting some really nice people. Also, unlike Chico Women's Club, there is a separate dining room and auditorium, divided by a large central hallway to give you more options for setups. SUCCESSFUL 4TH BIRTHDAY!!!…read more I am surprised first of all...to see an average 3 stars for this place....smh..(almost brand new inside, super clean, so many places to hang, and the owner is always on site working among his employees....but I guess haters gonna hate)....but anyway...WE HAD THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER AT KIDDOS PLAY PLACE!!! To start off, just know...we usually have at least 100 guests for our kids birthday parties and spend over $1500 in party favors, food, cake, goodies, kids beverages (and adult beverages) as well as the venue!!! We are in the process of a big move and my husband talked me into trying out The Kiddos Play Place! At first I was worried about the amount of invites we could send out...so I called ahead and got all of my worries taken care of. We had about 35 adults and 31 kids total!!! The online system automatically accounts for any additional people to have the best amount of drinks and pizza slices per person. (Side note, thankfully the pizza was tastier than Little Caesars or Chuck E Cheese)... ANYWAYS... We had just the right amount of people to celebrate my daughter's birthday. They gave her a sweet birthday tshirt that all of her friends and family got to sign which was such a great keepsake that I didnt know about until day of. Our EVENT PLANNER....YES....I SAID EVENT PLANNERS NAME was Ilona...and she was a SWEEEETHEART!! INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE TO our every need. She kept the cake chilled for us, our friends happy, drinks filled and pizza coming out on time. Ive never felt so at ease. We usually bbq and host all of our friends and family and never get to mingle. Ilana made it such a special day for us. (I even told her we are usually a rowdy bunch). I spoke to the owner both before our party and after and he was a pleasure to talk to. He answered any of my concerning questions and was incredibly professional...as I said we can be a hard group. Im so thankful all and all to the kiddos play place for being a place we NEED in Butte County! What a breath of fresh air the staff were so good to us. (We made sure to leave a tip). Thanks again!!! Top favorite things: 1. Baby play area 2. Clean accessible bathrooms 3. Clean accessible family bathroom as well as feeding area for breastfeeding moms 4. Food purchasing area, as well as hangout area for adults 5. An awesome arcade!!! 6. Adults can play in the play place too!++ 7. Seeing the owner in person 8. Today a young girl was targeting smaller kids and aggressively shoving them. A few of the parents addressed the mom and she excused her child's behavior with "she has a disability" which would make sense if she had pushed a single kid who was in her way but many parents actively watched as she targeted smaller kids into corners and shoved them very aggressively while avoiding the children's parents and kids who were equal to her size. We also addressed it with the staff one of them was wonderful and genuinely listened to us but there wasn't a lot they could do other then inform the mother she needed to be more attentive to her child's behavior. The place is pretty well kept there is some general wear and tear and the ball pit has lost some of its charm as it hasn't worked the last few times our kids have gone.

The staff was courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and SUBSTANTIALLY better than my wedding food at Butte Creek Country Club. The price was moderate, but not overly expensive. It was a very good experience overall. The inside venue space is a bit small for larger gatherings, our group of about 40 fit with extra space. It seems like any more than 70 would be cramped, though I believe they say it fits over 100 easily. The course is stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms were all clean and updated. The staff was kind and helpful. One issue I had was that the events coordinator was not onsite nor was she in communication with me AT ALL the day of the event. I was really surprised to hear that she'd been out golfing earlier in the day as if my event was pretty meaningless to her. Thankfully, the rest of the staff went above and beyond my expectations. A sweet lady even assisted me bringing in all of my boxes of decor and reunion supplies. The food was outstanding, plentiful, and everything I'd hoped for. Some guests said it was a little salty, but I love salt, so I didn't mind one bit. The food is a bit spendy, but it's served at a country club price, so the cost shouldn't surprise anyone. The meal was served by attentive waitstaff. When the kitchen forgot our few veggie dishes, they were quick to make them right away to remedy the issue. The bartender was excellent. He took orders quickly, made excellent drinks, and was friendly. I do wish there were better or different beers on tap. They carry the Sierra Nevada standards, but other than that, the selection is pretty minimal. Other than the few little things I'd have changed, I experience was pretty close to perfect. I'd recommend Canyon Oaks Country club for small to medium events any time. If you're trying to pick between Canyon Oaks and Butte Creek Country Clubs, I'd have to pick Canyon Oaks having had important events at both.
