This a the place to go for great home style food! Try the chicken fried chicken with some fried okra and add a role or two! Good place to take the family out! read more

Extremely slow service. It gets busy in the restaurant and it sounds like indoor recess at an elementary school. You can see the kitchen from some of the tables, and I was disturbed to see food being handled by bare hands. I also watched as they sprayed a cleaning agent on a counter that had clean drinking glasses stacked on it. Some of the spray got on the glasses, and the employee didn't seem to care. He just wiped down the counter and moved on. I won't eat here again. read more

We've all eaten at a Cotton Patch Café, I'm sure. And we all know the food is really pretty good. But I will never again attempt to dine at the location on Long Prairie Rd., (behind Chili's). We walked in this location at 5:15 tonight (the place was about half full) and upon seating we noticed many tables that needed to be cleaned. We sat for over 10 minutes when the manager came to take our drink order. At 5:30 we noticed 2 waiters coming in a side exit door. One of them came to our table and brought us our drinks. By 5:45 (been there for 1/2 hr. now) I flagged him down to please take our food order. At 6:00 our waiter came over to apologize for the delay, problems in the kitchen, blah, blah, blah. At 6:15 we were told our ticket had been lost. We left (hungry) needless to say, having wasted an hour of our time and with a line out the door. Apparently there are staffing issues at this location as we've always experienced slow service there, but tonight was our final attempt. So in a nutshell, Good Food (if you can get it) but Terrible Service! Pick a different location if you wanna be fed! read more

Went on a visit here one night when my parents were going and invited me along. Upon first being seated we were immediately unhappy. The table looked fine but as soon as we sat down we were hit with a huge gush of freezing cold wind from outside, somebody had come in the rear/side entrance which was marked as an emergency exit only, it happened again immediately and we asked the hostess if we could move. She just kind of blew us off and said that it was just people coming in and out at the change of shift and would be over soon. But it lasted a while, as people were coming in late, and ended up wearing my coat inside because we were constantly being assaulted from wind from that door. Why the employees can't walk the few extra seconds it would take to go to the main entrance instead of using the (clearly marked for Emergency only) side door to enter/exit I don't know. So after we resigned ourselves to the table next to door we were greeted by a young server and his trainee who we were told was on his first day. This isn't uncommon, many times I've had a waiter who had a young trainee in tow. But to our surprise, after the initial introduction and taking of the drink order, the trainee was all on his own. The waiter spent all of his time with another trainee, a young lady, who either needed his help more than our waiter/trainee or he had a thing for her, because he stayed with her and for our guy it was sink or swim. And for a kid who clearly didn't know what he was doing and it being his first day, he didn't do TOO bad, but there were lots of mistakes. We ignored most of them and didn't bring them up to avoid hurting his feelings or getting him nervous about mistakes. A water that was asked for without lemon came with it, no big deal. Our appetizer came out pretty much at the same time as the meal, oh well. One of the side orders was wrong, but I still ate it. My dad asked for an extra side of gravy for his chicken fried steak and what he got was a little bowl with chicken and dumplings in it. He just laughed about it. We couldn't really get mad at the kid, and the only reason I bring any of it up is because he shouldn't have been out there on his own like that on his first day. Other than those service problems the food itself wasn't terrible but not special. We all got chicken fried steak and while not the best it was OK. I wasn't crazy about the broccoli/rice casserole and probably won't be ordering it again, although to be fair I didn't order it this time either. If the service had been OK I would have considered it a 3 star place, nothing special but a decent meal, however the employees blasting us with freezing winter air and the poor kid who was cut loose to wait tables all by himself on his first day dropped it down to 2. Update: Received a message from somebody who was with Cotton Patch who apologized for the bad experience and wanted my contact information. I didn't really see the point, she'd already apologized but she wanted the manager of the restaurant to apologize as well apparently so I gave her my info. It's been 3 weeks though and I haven't heard anything, which is just as well. read more

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... this food is down home good. Get ready for some home style cook'n! They are going to start you off with the big, light, fluffy dinner rolls good enough to make the meal on. Service is ALWAYS good here and this place is immaculately clean all the time. I am a HUGE FAN of the pork chops with these cinnamon apples perfect for dipping those chops into DE-LISH! They do mashed potatoes with skins all mixed in there and they are quite good as well, and did I mention the okra??? I have never been disappointed with this fare. VERY GOOD! read more

Pleasantly surprised that the food and service was very good. Will return.

The service was terrible. First our coffees came after the food came out, and then we asked twice for creamer and it never came till the food was finished and the coffee was cold and then the creamer came. To add insult to injury, the server gave the bill to my brother as if I couldn't pay for the meal because I am a female. Sexist. Thanks Brittany. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

The food here is "eh". Just ok. The service is hit or miss. We went last night and the service was horrible. We had a rude teenager who was in a hurry(not busy) and was put out and to do anything. We ordered an appetizer and no sooner that came out so did our entree. We even purposely didn't order food at the same time as entree, we waited. We asked for it to be taken back to keep warm and the "kid" grabbed it off the table totally put out. I would never go back but my husband likes their pot roast. I realize it isn't fine dining, but management needs to train their staff better. read more

Extremely pleased with the high quality of food. Our Blonde Waitress "Hailey" was such a professional and was very attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant . My first visit, but definitely not my last. read more

I had the Cajun blackened tilapia and shrimp plate. It was decidedly average. I tried the chicken and dumplings and it was decent. The bar looked to be very limited. My dad had the mango tilapia and he was disappointed with it. This place is fine but nothing special. read more

I eat here for lunch quite often. The staff does a good job. I haven't had a bad meal at lunch or dinner. This place serves comfort food.

I had a great dinner recently at the Fort Worth location but this location was terrible for lunch. The service was slow and the appetizer came out with our meal. Both of our orders were wrong and the food was not hot. The bacon was mostly uncooked fat and the fries were soggy. McDonalds would have been better than this place. read more

The food here is good but I love the people. The staff is always so welcoming and nice. Jennifer is the cutest little thing and so sweet. I ordered a turkey club sandwich with no bacon. When the server brought it out it had bacon. They took it back and when they brought it back I could tell that they literally just plucked the bacon out. I have a pork allergy so Jennifer was kind enough to take it back, saying as a vegetarian herself she totally understood. My sandwich was brought back freshly made. Other than that I like this location, especially since it's so close to my job. read more

I like this restaurant chain- but this location is particularly bad. All the food was soaked in grease. The fried pickles were just clumps of batter. I will be sticking with the Lewisville location. read more

Called ahead for our party of nine. When we got to the restaurant they had a table set for us. Great service. The kids loved their meals and the fact they got two sides. The adults had fresh salads - thumbs up for a great price. read more

well, we order fish and rice Cajun plate,,,,,,,when our meal arrived it was put on the table without comment and Germani was gone, however there was no rice. my wife being an Asian must have rice!!!!!!so we called our server, Germani ,back over to our table and ask where the rice,,,,,she said they were out of rice, but no mention of this when we order!!!!!! so we said ok we will get a take home box,,, we have rice at home,,,,,,she said they would take off $1.99 for the rice that's fair things happen we understand that....well, when she brought the bill[ after what seem like a long time ],she also brought the rice and charge us for it......my contention is they ruin our meal. I guess cotton patch is unaware that there are other café down the street that serve a similar menu . I will avoid this café in the future!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This was not a great experience. The food was just okay. The tea was bitter. The service was not good. The waiter seemed very distracted and I felt like an inconvenience to him. read more

I came in here exhausted from a day out... our waitress, Kylea, was so warm and welcoming. She was a warm ray of sunshine. She was so attentive and relatable! We sat talking for forever! I had a lunch date here yesterday with my husband and we really enjoyed it. Service was great, very prompt, no wait. We ordered the chips, salsa and queso - amazing!! Our meals were good, I had a veggie plate and everything was fresh. My husband had meatloaf and enjoyed it. We love this particular location as the service is always friendly and the food never disappoints. We look forward to our next visit. read more

My friend and I ordered the chicken dumplings. The bowls had two dumplings and full of chicken , disgusting

Been going here for a while. The prices are affordable. Salads and sandwiches are good. Not every place is trying to be a 5 star chef driven concept. Sometimes you just want a sandwich or some vegetables. You can get that here. No complaints. I come here often. I like the club. read more

Great place to get a good meal at a fair price. Tons of home style options to pick from. I enjoy all the vegetables they have to pick from. Nothing I've ordered have I not liked. Good location, clean store, and good service. I like that I can get in, get out, and get on my way. read more

Greatest chicken fried steak I've had to date. It can get a little pricy. Wouldn't suggest eating there every night unless you are rolling in cash. However. It would be a nice place to take your date. Or have a nice family dinner read more

If the food wasn't always good, we won't keep coming back. Service is always terrible. Have to ask for bread, ask for refills, and the check. Waiter can't remember anything. read more

Would give it no stars if I could. How do you mess up veggies? Besides the full teaspoon of garlic powder that was not mixed in to the mushrooms, everything was gross. Why does this place even exist. They simply don't care. read more

Ordered the chicken tender meal. Fries that came out with it were old. The tenders were stringy and tasted off. They were either thrown in the fryer right out of the freezer or under cooked. Reminded me of gator meat. Wife had the chicken fried steak. Large portion but way too much gravy on it and the meat quality seemed poor. Wont go back read more

the food was horrible. Chicken was overcooked and zero flavor, the rice was like glue, the mac and cheese was also overcooked and glued together as if it was sitting out for hours. order specifics were competley ignored - french fries were cold and limp and even the pickle was gross. as if it too was sitting out. This was my first time every ordering take out from this venue and i will not return. do not recommend this venue....... read more

Wow, can you give a negative? If so, they would or should I say they earned it. We made large takeout order - DO NOT ORDER take out, maybe their inside visits are better. They forgot an entree in the takeout order, when brought to their attention it was a careless attitude. Then Lisa, the night manager (so she says) got on the phone and was quite rude. She told me to have a nice evening and Merry Christmas in a very sarcastic way. She did mention that Nate Garrett the General Manager is a great guy? I have no clue why she would say that as he was not in. Nevertheless, the food was cold, by the time we returned back to pick up the missing order all food was cold. Their attitude was oh well, things happen. By the way, they told me 20 minutes and it took over an hour.... when I asked why did they not tell me the real time, she told me they could not tell how busy they got - must have got slammed in the 20 minutes. My order was in before they got slammed, they forget the entree not me? She did state it was sitting on the counter and asked if I wnated her to warm it up - let me think, a hit entree cold - wow, could not believe that. read more

Less is more should be the moto of cotton patch cafe. For less money you get ridiculous diet busting portions to satisfy even the most discerning palates. I can honestly say i have tried so many things on the menu. Their burgers are delicious , chicken fried chicken specials on mondays are awesome. They now sell fruit as a side for those looking for a healthier option.I love my coffee with my meal and they always brew me a fresh pot as I am sure that they don't get too many requests for cofee.I really used to be a chilis fan but lately everything is so deep fried or microwaved. The store is truly clean and the staff is amazing, well trained and always there to help when you need something. If you are looking for a good and hearty home cooked meal at an affordable price, than look no further. read more
