I observed some fairly young wait staff including our own; they were very respectful and polite throughout the evening. We tried the fried mushrooms as an appetizer ($10). I thought they were good with a very tasty honey mustard sauce. There was a slight hint of funnel cake flavor though. My wife got the 8 oz bacon-wrapped filet ($25) which she ordered mid-rare and came out to proper temp. She ordered mashed potatoes and gravy which were standard...she was pleasantly surprised at the green beans, saying it was very well-seasoned and we know it was good because she didn't offer to share.... My daughter ordered a burger which she applied the honey mustard sauce towards and thought it was ok. She doesn't eat a lot so her finishing half the burger is a good sign. I thought the bun was slightly over-sized to the burger optically but just the look of it coming out was tasty. Three-cheese burger ($17) looks like something worth a try next time I'm in the mood for a burger. Slight hiccup with my ribeye ordered medium-rare ($25). I understand 12 oz not the easiest to get exactly right but mine came out well-done on one half and medium. Nobody ever looks forward to requesting a re-fire but I pointed it out to our waiter and he agreed it wasn't right. A new one came out less than ten mins later. An offer was made to bring new sides as I had kept the originals but it wasn't necessary. The replacement was fantastic, and slightly bigger than the first so I appreciate them making up for it in a positive way. Sadly, there was no ice cream available to have my anticipated peach cobbler but honestly I probably didn't need the calories anyway. We've eaten here three times. Kids love the food, and I'd describe the menu as southern / Midwest home cooking. If you like crackers barrel this might be a good option for you as well. There's a lot of potential here. Food is pretty consistent. Server has always been great and earned a big tip. But each visit has had something negative too. We were once seated by an unenthusiastic host who told us they were out of silverware (the server was unhappy with that). One visit it wasn't busy but it took almost 45 minutes for our main courses. And on our first visit we got some cold food. So mixed feelings so far but lots of potential. read more

I ordered the pork tenderloin medallions off of the limited time section with the two sides shown on the photo, the green beans and sweet potato fries. I appreciated the brown gravy being served on the side as the medallions did not need any toppings. Unlike the bland green beans, the fries had flavor. When coming here for dinner, make sure to leave by 8:30 or arrive after 9pm. Around 8:36pm, my waitress told me that she would be attending a meeting. It would be about 30 minutes before I would see her again. When I finally saw her again, she never inquired if I would be interested in dessert. She asked only if I wanted the check. If they had mobile POS systems as some other casual restaurants do, I could have either ordered dessert or paid the check and left. The menu is slightly deceptive. Some of the photos include premium sides, such as the sweet potato fries, without any indication they have an additional charge. Worst exchange I've EVER had at a CP and I've been coming for 30 years. We came in about 7:45pm. Restaurant was very slow - maybe 6 tables with customers. Brought rolls that were slightly larger than a golf ball and EXTREMELY dense - like they didn't have time to rise properly. Server didn't give silverware until about 10 minutes later - looks like she had to go back put them together. Took over 30 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. We both ordered chicken fried chicken - both orders were wrong. And the chicken fried chicken was nothing more than 2 chicken tenders - they were large but they were chicken tenders. And paying $40 for 2 orders of 2 (albeit large) chicken tenders is ridiculous. Took another 20 minutes after we were done before our server came back. I've been here many times but NEVER had service this bad. I may give them one more shot but still not sure at this point. This was a horrible experience all the way around. Get your act together! It had been a long time since I had frequented this establishment. I now remember why!!! The management here needs to hire at least 8 more staff members. For both in house and to go orders. The restaurant was 30% full and still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Then after ordering it took 35 minutes to get our food. I will not blame the staff. This is poor management only. My food was good, I had catfish and shrimp. The shrimp was way over cooked but the fish was good and hot. My wife's salmon had a different twist. Very dry and lacking flavor. How is this place still in business? We have tried them 3 different times with each getting progressively worse with the last time being hilariously bad. We were joking with the people around us since everyone was having the same issues. The food is typically OK, but only when they send out their constant stream of buy one get one coupons. The portions though have gotten child plate small though. The biggest issue is their service. They are always understaffed and everything takes forever if it happens at all. Their systems are a joke. They cannot even tell you what you ordered or which table it goes to. We personally had the wrong food brought to us 6 times and it was still wrong at the end. The first time it was obviously somebody else's food which the waitress admitted later that someone else got our food, but ate it anyway. They obviously were desperate. The next 5 times they kept getting closer, but never got it 100% correct. At one point the Manager came over and asked what we ordered. I started to ask her what does her system say, but its obvious their system is a joke. I came there once to get an Uber Eats order and their system was sending that locations online orders to another restaurant and they were getting another restaurants orders. There seemed to be 50 bags just sitting there with nobody picking anything up. When all was said and done nobody ever apologized and they still wanted to charge us full price for everything. Went to the Flower Mound location today for lunch. Ordered chicken tenders and two sides after 40 minutes I went to the kitchen to ask what was going on. I was told it would be another 5 minutes. This was after waiting over 5 minutes for a waitress to come by our table and getting a drink order. After dropping off the drinks the waitress never came by to check on us or tell us what was going on. I left without getting the food. I dont have the time for waiting that long to get food. I had stopped going to Cotton Patch as the food was not as good. My husband and I tried it again a month ago and then went on Saturday evening, March 1st. I was glad to see that more patrons were there. However I felt bad for the people waiting for pick up orders. They were there as long as we were ordering and eating. I just think they need more help. Sometimes things just happen. Like failing to include Caesar dressing with Chicken Caesar salad ordered through Door Dash. So I called and spoke with the manager, Jasmine, who apologized profusely and said she'd ask someone to deliver another salad immediately. It appeared at the door in less than 10 minutes, delivered by an employee who also thanked us sincerely for our patience and understanding. This level of service and commitment to customers is surprising and rewarding. We continue to order from and/or visit the Flower Mound location many times weekly. We starting going to Cotton Patch before Covid. We loved the restaurant and the food. We went several times per week....very loyal customers. Something has changed. The food is boring. The restaurant always cold, service is terrible. No attention to detail. Menu items out- I ordered a bowl of soup, a cup arrived, and it was only half full. There were 9 employees at dinner time, 6 customers, and just not fun. Someone needs to give this restaurant some TLC! I'm sure it's not making money, and that's just really sad. amazing restaurant, I make it a point to go in on a weekly basis. I've had the unique opportunity of seeing this store over time and I'm happy to say it's only gotten better with time. Recently, the AC had gone out. they fixed this promptly and all the staff still served me with a smile on their face despite the conditions. This served as a testimony of the hardworking folk there both on the ground and in the office. If you go by, make sure to ask for a manger there by the name of Sophia. Definitely not what it used to be. My husband loves the maple grilled salmon, so we keep going back (take-out mostly.) Veggies are always lukewarm and look like they were scraped from the dredges of the pan. Beef tips are runny with very few pieces of meat (but they do have a good taste). Tonight, I found pieces of cinnamon apple in my chicken n dumplings! Was the cook experimenting with a new recipe or pranking me? Who knows, but that was the final straw. 5 Stars to the staff at the Flower Mound Cotton Patch. We went there around 8:30ish and when we entered we did not see any other diners. We were greeted & told that the AC was out in the dining area but that we could still be served. They had a portable AC unit in place, which made it bearable, so we stayed. Our server, Maddie, did an EXCELLENT job. With the conditions that she had to work with & low customer turnout (tips!!), she still had a GREAT attitude and provided excellent service. I can imagine that the kitchen area was very hot as well, but they still provided an excellent meal. Maddie said that she will be leaving soon for college, so Cotton Patch will be losing a very valuable employee! Seeing how this restaurant performed in the adverse condition, we will definitely be back. We went to a sampling event at the Grapevine location on a Saturday and I couldn't stop thinking about their sausage gravy and biscuits on that Sunday. We had a coupon so we decided to try out the Flower Mound location, which is the closest to us. It started out a little bumpy as the host stand was empty. I initially thought someone had gone to the restroom, but when we left there were two parties in the same predicament. Also, it took a long while to get bread and place our order. Our server, Casey, was very sweet and helpful, but initially not very attentive. This wasn't her fault, she was working really hard. Luckily the second half of our visit, we were able to experience more of her great customer service. They need to have someone at the host stand, stick to sections only and not have the servers bus their own tables. That's not efficient. There were multiple staff members set up at a table rolling silverware, they could allocate their resources differently which would result in a better customer experience and the servers not being so tired. In regards to the meal, there were more hits than misses. I like their sweet tea. I think the prices are really great for the portions! My husband's burger was okay, but his bun was stale, so that was a miss. The fries were seasoned really well though, they serve the softer version instead of crispy. My sides were awesome, I got the squash casserole and broccoli cheese rice. It would be difficult to stray from these sides in the future, they were super tasty and well prepared. The meatloaf was above average, though not as good as Old West Café! The bread was decent, but that's complimentary! It's southern comfort food and I love that concept, so think upscale, focused diner. I had a great meal! If they make a few minor changes to service and avoid a repeat of the stale hamburger bun, they would be 5 stars for sure! read more

I work in a health care facility and ordered over $100.00 worth of food from this Cotton patch. The order was picked up by door dash. When we received our order, it was missing the gravy for the chicken tenders, the sauce and whipped cream for the butter cake, and the ice cream for the dr pepper cake. When I called to complain they said there was nothing they could do as door dash delivered the food. They suggested that the door dash driver actually stole the gravy, whipped cream, caramel sauce and ice cream. They refused to give us what was missing from our order. They didn't care that we were health care workers in Flower Mound who cannot leave to pick up orders once we are at work. Mr. Puckett refused to fix our order or give us any credit.
