Don't bother. Would love to comment on the food but we were never served any. We were never greeted or seated, but we eventually followed another family's lead on took an empty (albeit uncleared) table. Better than fast food decent home cooked & canned/ frozen food options. Hubby got chicken parmigiano said it was okay, probably frozen pre-made, green beans probably canned, but coleslaw was very good. I got veggie burger w/fries. Fries were those awful frozen pre-cooked battered things that need to be discontinued from society, so I would not recommend them. Burger was also a packaged food but not bad. If you don't want fast food and don't feel like driving out of your way this will work in a pinch. read more

We were camping at Bald Eagle State Park when the sky opened-up and rain cancelled our dinner plans. Looking for a "Plan B", my grandson found The Cottage on the internet so we decided to give it a try. Since there were 13 of us, I called ahead to see if they could work it out so that we could all be together and they said that "they should be able to do it". When we arrived looking like drowned rats a half hour later, the lot was full and every seat in the place was taken...... except for out table for 13. Service was quick and friendly. The experience I had here was honestly life changing. My friends and I went here for breakfast on a road trip, and we had a fantastic experience. The portions were great, I ordered the hardy breakfast, which contained 3 eggs, 6 slices of bacon, 4 pieces of toast, and a load of chopped potatoes. For $6.60, that was a ton of food. Not only was it cheap, it tasted fantastic. Our waitress was super nice, and she really put a lot of effort into making sure we were cared for. The wait wasn't long, and there was a ton of condiments and add-ons places around the table. After traveling for 11 hours, this home cooked meal was so great. We all bought t-shirts and vowed to make an attempt to return. If you are reading this, definitely go there. read more

The atmosphere at this restaurant is nice enough, and they bring a big container of crayons and a coloring book for the kids to color, which was awesome. However the food was average (with the exception of the Beer battered fries which were great). My son had the kid's pizza and it was definitely a frozen pizza and was not very good. We stop here on our trips from Bloomsburg to western PA, sometimes for breakfast, and sometimes for dinner. For the last 3 stops, it took us over a half-hour to get our food. We understand this is not a fast food place, but when three other tables come in after us and get their food first (and we don't make "special requests") something is not right. We are pretty sure yesterday it was a matter of the kitchen putting a certain server's orders ahead of our server's orders, since the three tables that got their food within 15 minutes were all served by that particular server. It wasn't that our server let the food up in the window. It's a shame, because the food is good and it's a handy stop off of Rt. 80. We almost didn't stop because of the prior two times having to wait so long, so this was the "third strike". read more

We got a lot of weird looks when we walked in, and the staff were friendly but did not seem to know what to do with us. It felt odd, since it is a restaurant right off the interstate. However, the food made up for it, and everyone warmed to us. The philly steak and cheese was very good, and they had healthier options that come with cottage cheese. They also serve breakfast all day, which is always a good option on long road trips. There seemed to be a lot of locals, there were state police there, and the prices were not hiked up. We stopped here after asking the hotel staff their opinions of this place. They raved about the pies/dessert only. So, we decided with hotel discount we would try it. The place is so outdated inside. First thing my Husband and I said was this place should be on restaurant impossible. They make money, right? Why not update the place? Anyway, the food...Everything was terrible....My husband ordered the 4pc fried chicken. What he got was previously frozen, little tiny chicken wing, a small thigh and leg. Seriously, a grown man could have ordered 3 orders of this chicken. Salty, over-fried and way to small. My husband face said it all, when it came to the table. Terrible. I ordered the county fried steak...What I got was a previously frozen, mystery meat dripping in grease(Not kidding on how greasy this was) with a side of potatoes that had a dry crust on it and tasted state. This looked and tasted so bad. (Assuming we got there after 7pm, I received potatoes that were cooked hours before and were sitting in some kind of tray and I they gave me what was left of it. The peas they served smelled and tasted like they opened a can with the juices and dumped in the bowl. My son commented twice that they smelled so weird! Yeah! My son ordered a steak which came under cooked and had to be sent back to get cooked again. Fries were so greasy he ate 1! I mean I can't believe this place has customers. I thought I was being pranked or something. We were sooo disappointed. I asked the waitress to take my order off the bill and they did. I did notice, on the way out, that the cooking/wait staff is all a bunch of teenagers. Hmmm! You can't serve frozen food that tastes horrible and is horribly cooked and expect to stay in business. We are locals and stopped in for the first time tonight for dinner, had heard lots of good reviews from the radio. We walked in found a table and our waitress walked over to clean the table we were sitting at from a previous customer, she was a very pleasant young lady and it happened to be her first night on the job, we placed our order and I had ordered a black diamond steak,corn and baked potato,as she set my plate down in front of me, I was in complete shock to see that my steak was literally the size of a chicken strip and I immediately told the young lady that I was not going to pay for a meal of that size and she took the meal back and came back to say I could order something else,which I ordered the stuffed chicken special , during this time my husband and father n laws food had arrived and it was just as bad as my first meal, my husbands seafood platter was burnt, all of it, his three scallops were the size of a pea and 3 burnt shrimp and a burnt piece of fish of somekind it was horrible, my father n law ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were dry and had no taste, than came my second meal of the stuffed chicken it looked good but as I bit into it, it was the most awful taste I had ever tasted, it tasted like the stuffing had been put through the dishwasher it was horrible. So needless to say I did not eat any of it nor did my father n law, as I asked the waitresses if there was a manager I could talk to, I was told that there is not a manager and there is nothing they could do to help me out, as I was leaving to pay for my 43.00 bill of which we basicly just gave the Cottage inn free money for something that we did not or should say could not even eat, there was two other customers also complaining of their food and actually one couple ordered water had overheard how our meal was horrible and they got up to leave but was charged 1.50 for two glasses of water .... unbelievable!!!!!.....I would not recommend this establishment to anyone let alone my dogs!!!! I had to come home and make supper for us and am very upset that I just gave away 43.00 .... read more
