We were apprehensive because of Italian sofas and chairs and other wooden pieces. When shopping for a place we noticed right away how clean this facility was compared to others. We are so glad we chose Green Gables. My husband and I are traveling home from Vancouver after moving our son. We felt compelled to let you readers know how impressed we were by the cleanliness of our furniture. We saw two spiders and that was it. They must spray for bugs. Upon leaving the staff was friendly and courteous. We would not hesitate to rent from them again.

Becky, the Manager is efficient and pleasant to deal with!…read moreThe place is clean and I was so happy to get such a great space. What a great experience, too. How considerate it was of her to choose a unit in close proximity to a clean, handicapped restroom. I had been unusually forgetful lately and entered the wrong code recently. Becky, The Manager was unbelievably gracious yet informative, in getting me straightened out. And it is how things are handled when they have the potential of going wrong that really counts, isn't it? I am looking forward to a lifelong relationship!!

My boyfriend and I rented a unit for about 10 months. We were both on the rental contract but the…read moremonthly payment came out of my account. The manager was very nice at first until the day we had to evacuate our home due to the fires. We had no where to go, so we hung out at our storage unit. She showed up the next morning and started yelling and accusing us of LIVING in the unit, not even asking about our situation. Other people that had to evacuate also had stayed at the facility. Another time she would not let me out the gate until we did exactly what she wanted. I think that's called kidnapping, holding me against my will! Now we are trying to clean out our unit, my boyfriend worked all night loading our things. This morning I get a text from her accusing the boyfriend of living in the unit and shaving in HER bathroom. You can look at him and know that's not true! And telling me he needs to get off the property and not come back, remember he's on the contract and we have access 24/7. I called her to discuss the issue with her and she hung up on me. How professional! It's a very nice clean facility but the owner needs to put their manager in check. Get the facts before accusing someone. We have taken pictures of the unit before returning our keys, there was a $50 deposit and rent is prorated for the last few days of the month that we had paid. 8 days to be exact. I'll tell the rest of the story after she inspects the unit.

When we went back to the unit we discovered that there was a rat infestation. The manager told us that rats had been reported months earlier but we weren't informed. If we had been told maybe we could remove our stuff in time to avoid this situation. The manager said they had called an exterminator but we found a large LIVE rat in our unit and 11 LIVE newborn rats in a box. (See photos) Every surface was covered with rat urine and feces. All of our soft furniture: couch, mattress, glider had been chewed and destroyed. Between the furniture we need to replaced, the cleaning costs, and the junk removal costs we are out over $2,500. Not to mention the weeks it will take to disinfect everything so that my toddlers don't get sick. It has been almost a month and we still have not received any compensation. All we were offered was $500, which only covers the disposal fee of what was destroyed (and we still haven't even received that check yet). Multiple emails and voicemails have gone unanswered the past 2 weeks. Learn from our mistake and do not use this facility.
