She's right on top of things and provides the best treatment and advice. I can't say enough about her; she's the best !

Over the years, my opinions on this matter have changed completely. What I wouldn't give to have 20/20 vision and see the world with crystal clear clarity, without the help of my industrial strength contact lenses (when I take them out, the world becomes one big Monet painting). Luckily, I have the very best ophthalmologist, Iman Ali, in whom I've placed complete trust to keep my peepers healthy and bright since 2005. At that time, I traveled the 45 minutes from my apartment in Quincy, MA to see her in Fall River. Eight years later, I still travel to see her, forsaking many other qualified ophthalmologists in Providence. For my first appointment, she had her work cut out for her: I was fresh from a major car accident during which I'd suffered eye injuries that made wearing my traditional contacts extremely uncomfortable. She was patient, caring, and so confident that I could keep wearing contacts (by the time I reached my twenties vanity had sunken in, and I no longer agreed with my seven year old self that glasses were a badge of honor). She knew instinctively how to care for a young woman who'd suffered a physical and emotional trauma, and with her help, my eyes - and my overall well being - improved. Today, there's barely any remnant of the original injury, and my prescription has, against all odds, grown lighter in strength. Other fantastic details that make Dr. Ali's practice, Total Eye Care, an excellent choice include: a friendly front desk staff (who in all these years have remained intact - I mean, no discernible turnover. This speaks volumes!); a charming little coffee shop in the main lobby before you enter the office; and for those who DO still think that glasses are a true fashion statement, a huge range of high end designer eyewear, including gorgeous prescription sunglasses. If I still liked wearing specs, I'd have no shortage of luxe and lovely options. Dr. Ali is - to coin a well worn phrase - the very best in the business. She's so smart, so sophisticated, and so easy to talk to. She's Brown University educated, NYC trained (where she gained incredible experience working on patients suffering from eye issues in the wake of 9/11), and superbly suited to a practice in an area like The Riv, where folks really appreciate a doctor who remembers all sorts of things about you: little facts that might date back years. While she's thoroughly modern, hers is the type of practice that hearkens back to the physician practices of old, which were built on a strong sense of family, where all generations went to the same doctor -- and that doctor inquired after one's parents, as the pediatric patients matured into adulthood. This makes my annual eye appointment feel like coming home, in the best way!

In the interests of full disclosure, I've had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Paul Botelho personally,…read moreso when it came time for cataract surgery last year, he was the natural choice. Lest you think it's only due to personal relationship, Paul is also an instructor at Brown. Who better to perform eye surgery? That said, the overall experience was very positive, from scheduling to the exam process, then surgery, then billing question follow up. The actual surgery is done in batches, almost assembly-line styler. That may sound negative, but the staff was very attentive to all patients' personal needs and kept the process extremely organized so my mind was at ease knowing I was in good hands. Kudos to all the staff for a job well done! This office is highly recommended.

I have been looking for a good eye doctor for some time now. After visiting a few (and regretting…read moreit) I decided to give Advanced Eye Centers a call. I used to see one of the founding doctors years ago when I was young, as I've had eye issues all of my life. It was easy to schedule my appointment as I was still in their system after what had to be 8 or 12 years! They went over my insurance with me and explained what I'd be expected to pay at my first visit. I was able to get an appointment scheduled about two weeks out, but that was partly because my own work schedule is busy! I arrived about 10 minutes early and completed some simple paperwork. I was the only one in the waiting room and right on time was greeted by Dr. Michaud, an OD at the practice. My exam was thorough but quick, which was really great as I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was able to get a pair of contacts in my new prescription to wear home and ordered a few months worth to be delivered to my house - super convenient. Check out was simple and easy. They do have an optical shop on premises which is convenient, but I chose to keep my old frames and they do charge a fee on top of the lense replacement charge if you aren't purchasing new ones through them. I elected to shop around for prices, so I didn't spend too much time in the shop. The doctor and staff were friendly and helpful and the practice was very clean. I had a great experience and will continue to visit them in the future.

I don't normally write reviews for doctors but my experience this week needs to be shared. I've…read morebeen seeing Dr. Cynthia Rodrigues at this practice for around eight years. I came to her in desperation. I had been extremely sick with some type of respiratory illness for a month, on high doses of prednisone, had taken courses of a few different antibiotics and had been placed on a bunch of different asthma drugs. I continued to be in and out of my primary doctor's office and the ER for breathing treatments. Every time we tried to taper off the prednisone I ended up in the ER. Dr. Rodrigues ordered a bunch of tests, changed up my medication and figured out what was wrong with me. I've seen her twice a year ever since. I've never had to wait longer than ten minutes in the waiting room to be seen. That's unheard of. I had an appointment yesterday. The day before the office advised me that she had a meeting and may be running slightly late and gave me the option to reschedule to later that afternoon. What doctor's office does that??? I decided to take my chances as my husband and I had plans for the afternoon. I waited about a half hour to see Dr. Rodrigues and she apologized profusely when she arrived. I've waited much longer at other offices with no heads up and no apologies. If you are asthmatic, like I am, starting on an antibiotic as soon as you feel a cold start to go into your chest is the difference between a common cold and bronchtis. Instead of worrying about being able to charge me for an office visit, Dr. Rodrigues will give me a prescription for Z-Pac to have on hand at the start of the cold and flu season it has saved me a few times when I've come down with a nasty cold over the weekend. She's also generous with free samples of the medications she prescribes. This practice is located in Truesdale Clinic and parking is a bitch. That's all there is to it. There is additional parking behind the building or you can use the valet service. If you have respiratory issues, it would be well worth your time to pay a visit to this office.
