But much of the accessories are quirky and unique: think doll hands for earrings kind of vibe! There's a decent amount of knick-knacks and giftables here as well, that are more local artisan made or new. The store can feel a bit overwhelming at first entrance, so take it by section and putz with an open mind. I know, because we spent all day checking out consignment stores in every nick and corner of the Twin Cities. (They're certainly not identical twins!) The proprietor Doug is engaging and informative. He has an eye for a pieces that are architectural beauties. Yet, he can also turn that basement throw away into something that should be displayed in the Museum of Modern Art. Repurpose Republic is the kind of place you want to return to often, just to see what new beauty shows up on the showroom floor. Unfortunately, Repurpose Republic was our first stop, and I was exhausted with all the wasted hours visiting other consignment stores. Save yourself some time and just "hit up" Repurpose Republic. There was a bin in the back that was lower cost but it was mostly sweaters and shirts that weren't my style and not what I need at the moment. I will say- if vintage is your style and you're open to what you wear this would be a good stop. If you're a little more picky and looking to save some money this may not be the best option.

When I saw it on the hanger there was a stain on the material, which is thin and now needs to be dry cleaned. More importantly, when I brought it to his attention, he yelled at me when I told him about the stain and said I sounded "like the other women who complain" , grabbed my dress , which I grabbed back because it was already paid for. Then, he raised his fist in preparation to strike me, and yelled at me. I left the store. He yelled at me to leave when I got in my car. I called for help inside my car and he charged towards my car. I locked the doors and he started banging on my window with cash in his hand saying, "just take it." I never asked for a refund, even though he didn't do the job right. He wouldn't go away so I had to call the police. I don't know what this man's problem is, but don't go here. This man is violent.

I stopped in a few days before Christmas, and I actually had a few things yet I wanted to get my grandpa, so this worked out great. The space is HUGE - so much more than clothes! I had no idea. They have: - books and coffee table books - a whole room dedicated to perfume/cologne and scents - a whole area for cocktail-related gifts - home decor, tableware, and interior decor items - kitschy smaller giftables that were organized by theme (work/office, hosting, etc.) - menswear and womenswear - jewelry - candles - and so much more! It was great to go back here so many years later and see this space turned into a holiday shopping space for local artists. There was something for everyone on my list. It made me smile to see the old polar bears and shirts for sale also! We went downstairs to a temporary MN sports exhibit which was open and free to the public.
