I skipped the last inspection due to Covid concerns, but decided it could be done safely this time around. I went to take off my wedding ring and promptly got it stuck mid way up my finger! We tried everything to get it off (YouTube really does have videos for everything, FYI) and finally we had to cut it off. It broke my heart! We then thought that the repair would cost more than the ring but I love my wedding ring, so we would find a way to pay for it. We showed up to Jared and the doors were locked so they could control the entryway. They're taking excellent precautions and everyone was wearing masks. There are disposable masks and hand sanitizer right inside the doors if you need them. The woman who greeted me was SO friendly! I felt like a chump for having this cut up ring, but she made me feel completely at ease. She helped me find a new size that would work and then - best news of all - she said it was 100% covered under the warranty! She asked if it would be OK for them to have a few extra days to repair it when I thought it would take weeks. We got a reminder call to pick it up and the woman who helped me today was also very friendly and chatty. My ring looked brand new. It's shiny and sparkly and I'm so happy to have it back! This experience has been a complete turn-around from a few years ago. I only wish I'd gotten the other woman's name so I could give her proper credit.

Resellers beware! I had a horrible experience here two days ago. The sales guy left a bad taste in…read moremy mouth when he told me to "take your crappy monitor" (RUDE!) and leave after refusing to sell a boatload of DVDs and Blu-rays to me. I showed up at the shop right when they opened and tried to sell my grandma's small Vizio TV but unfortunately it was too old for them to buy it so I put it back in my car. I went back into the shop with a large shopping bag with the intent of filling it up with DVDs and Blu-rays for my personal use and to resell on eBay. He at first told me that the prices listed on the individual Blu-rays were negotiable and that he could give me a deal. Well after he saw me on my phone looking up prices and scanning movies, he told me that he wasn't going to give me a good deal if I was just gonna flip them. After about an hour of browsing their entire impressive collection, I brought hundreds of dollars worth of movies to the counter and asked how much the DVDs were and how much the Blu-rays were. The sales guy said, "Honestly, I'm going to charge you the prices listed." Mind you, the prices listed on the Blu-rays varied widely from $5.99 to $19.99 which is insane for pawn shop prices. A fair market price for a pawn shop Blu-ray is $3 max, and DVD $2 max. I was prepared to pay that but the guy was such a jerk to me and refused to do business with me. He said, "We're not here for you to make money off of," (isn't that what pawn shops do to their sellers?) and even said, "Had you been more upfront about (flipping) in the first place, I might've cut you a deal" which is total BS. I think I might've just touched a soft spot on him by trying to make an honest living just like him, and I bluntly told him, "That's not fair" and "That's none of your business." Why does he care so much about what I do with the stuff I buy fair and square? I will never go back to this place and have warned all my friends, family, and coworkers. I will post this review everywhere I can. And THEN, in order to have the last word, the sales guy told me to take my "crappy monitor" with me and leave. His ego must've been more important than making a good sale. I could tell the Blu-rays and DVDs hadn't moved in months, maybe even years because they were dirty and dusty and faded and sun bleached. Take your business elsewhere, like Excel Pawn in Shakopee just down the road or literally anywhere else. The guys at Excel Pawn treated me with respect and were happy to part with stacks of DVDs and Blu-rays when I went there next. Avoid Pawn X Change. Unfair, rude, unprofessional, nosy, and unintelligent.

When we were shopping for wedding rings all we knew was that we wanted something other than the…read more"cookie cutter". We wanted a ring that had some meaning. At the same time, we had a limited budget. One of my friends told me about Britta who designs rings. I checked out her website and facebook and fell in love with the style. Lot so the comments on the rings she has designed on her facebook page mention family stones that are used. So, I asked my mom if there was any rings from my grandmothers that I could use. There wasn't, but there was a ring full of small rubies from my great, great gramma's ring. So, with that we were off to meet with Britta. Britta has a studio space in the Northrup King building where she is available 1 or 2 times a month. Other than that, she works from her home space in Duluth. I had some vague ideas and Britta was great in coming up with much more specific ideas. She basically has some stones, or you can use your own, and then draws very detailed pics of her ideas. Then, you pick out the metal you will be using and then she can give you an estimate. I loved the first design she drew up but we went home and decided we couldn't afford it. So, I was really disappointed. I really liked the idea of supporting a local artist, but we had decided our budget was going to be small for this. So, I decided to contact her to just check if there are ways to make it less expensive. This was maybe what I was most impressed about with Britta. She had several ideas- she was not pushing us to do anything out of our budget and came up with a plan that we were very happy with. What we learned was that the metal is the most expensive part of making a ring. So, one of the things we did was to switch to palladium 500, instead of white gold. After doing some research of my own, I am very happy with the switch, but this is something I would have never known to consider before her suggesting it. I should also mention that Britta did our ring on a very short deadline- just over a month. So, right before our wedding, the ring arrived and I simply loved it. We got a new sapphire (from Britta) for the center and then used a ruby for each side from my great, great gramma's ring. The reason we did thought this would be meaningful is because our colors for the wedding were red white and blue. The ring looked perfect but I was off a bit in my sizing, so we met up with Britta again at the Uptown Art fair and sent it back with her to get re-sized. Check out Britta Lynn Design on Facebook. My dresses were both done before the expected date which was also super awesome! The staff here are so nice and helpful. They explain everything regarding any alteration you may be getting, and make sure that their work is accurate before proceeding further. If you have any questions regarding an alteration you are getting done, they are very knowledgeable and always give you other options based on your alteration needs. I will definitely go here for future alterations. Their prices are reasonable and their customer service is fantastic! Just a note though, it's cash or check for payment, and if you are going to pay with a check, make sure you have two forms of ID!

We obviously can't…read moreuse them as they are hideous and have exposed staples, are crooked, dip in the middle and are rippled. Stephen was late in getting the valances done and asked for another day because he was having "an issue" and had to "fix it". We were disappointed when we picked them up. He offered no refunds and said we asked for crooked curtains with staples and said we AGREED TO PAY EVEN IF THEY DIDN'T TURN OUT. Who would agree to that? Nobody!
