But now "Things Done Changed." (Biggie reference.) Within the last couple years, a handful of new spots have opened up in Minneapolis alone! Phenom is refreshing with its dope two room setup, wooden floors, and tees that hang from an automated and revolving rack above. (Like what drycleaners have.) They also carry a small selection of sneaker classics like Nike Air Maxes, Jordans, and New Balances (the non-Grandpa kind), some interesting caps (both snapback and fitted), and original sweatshirts I've never really seen online. I'm not really a fan of their selection, but I can see how some peeps dig it. Aside from the gear, the customer service could be better. I saw one Nike Air Max and got a staff member to get it in my size. I found that it didn't fit and tried chatting with him a bit. He seemed disinterested in trying to sell me anything and left to talk to the shorty at the front of the store. At other boutiques, the staff usually tries to hustle me. Kinda surprised. Again, I love Phenom's dope space and can appreciate their gear, but the customer service could be better.

Beautiful ground up conceptual design with their Phenom cloud logo emblazoned across the racks, counters, and their own personal clothing that they manufacture in the back of the shop. So sick! Much love for this shop and always stop in to see their new gear whenever I'm in the area. Pricy for some of these products because of their brands, but it's well worth the pricepoint if you are savvy in the streetwear game and understand what you're actually looking at! o.O

5 STARS FOR SERVICE!!! 2 stars for STINKY shoes- the wools does not let my feet breath!…read more The attention to detail at this store is amazing. All of the associates were very helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after 30 day return window that these shoes smell- BADLY. I do not have smelly feet. These are the only pair of shoes that I have ever owned that smell. I have followed the manufacturer's guidelines and washed them accordingly. NOTHING, I mean NOTHING can totally get rid of the smell. It's a shame because the shoes are very comfortable and supportive.

I was going to Pacifier to get a gift for my son, but then I stopped into Allbirds on a curious whim, and left with a gift for myself. I honestly had never heard of Allbirds before I stumbled in here. The staff was welcoming, as I browsed their displays. I learned that they're a minimalist New Zealand company dedicated to reversing climate change with sustainable functional apparel (mostly shoes). Into it! I love how each product is marked with its carbon footprint and list of renewable materials. There are about half a dozen different shoes, and I think they were all $98 and unisex. Yes, pricey, but worth the sustainable quality (also, helps that I haven't bought new shoes in years). I tried on the Wool Loungers and was in heaven. They're easy to slip on, the soles are so comfy, and they design is minimal and clean. And they're machine-washable!! Note: This style only comes in full sizes and run small. I sized up from 7 to 8. I've only worn them a few days but so far I love them. So comfortable! Each Allbirds location has a custom shoelace, and ours is Boundary Waters Blue. You get a free pair with each purchase!

I'd just pop in to some awesome store, play dress up and then come back through my wardrobe like the Pevensie children. Anyway, Parc Boutique would definitely be one of my fashion portal stops. I follow the owner Thao on Twitter and Pinterest because she has amazing taste, so I should've known how much I'd like this store. It had been a while since my first visit to Parc (when I was young and broke), so my visit last week felt like the maiden voyage. There's a balance of affordability and higher-fashion style here, which I appreciate because that is a balance I try to find on a daily basis. There's a great selection of dresses, tops, jewelry, denim and more---all priced and curated well. The bauble table was where I had the most trouble saying goodbye. I saw the most interesting geometric pendant priced at about $75 (as usual, my eye wanders to one of the most expensive things on the table). Though I couldn't bring myself to drop the cash, I was compelled to put it on my Christmas list eight months in advance.

All of the brands they carry are women owned businesses and either local or from around the country. The staff is beyond friendly is they're always happy to help with any questions you may have. As well as clothing, they also carry the cutest natural skin care lines, especially Herbivore Botanicals. If you're in Minneapolis and have a shopping day, I highly recommend you stop in to their shop.

This is the best running store in Minnesota. This is the…read morebest running store in Minnesota. What Jeff and Bekah Metzdorff have done to make a retail store into the epicenter of running culture in the entire Midwest is remarkable. You will get it when you walk in. You need a pair of shoes and they'll make you run on a treadmill, ask you some questions and you'll be fitted for what shoe fits for you. From there, they have gear you want to wear running. And for those us (myself included) who aren't runners, they have comfortable clothing you will wear daily for comfort or for your own workouts. You go deeper if you're new to the Twin Cities and join a free group run, which is multiple times a week to keep you going. You might even find a date there, it happens oddly often. If you're one of those people who need to run a marathon, you'll see them during the Twin Cities Marathon yelling in the 20s mile area, getting written up in the local neighborhood papers for being too loud. From there, you want them to succeed, and you want to join them. Then you see their brand everywhere. In every race in the Midwest, you will see the brand name. And you'll feel good wearing it as well as you know it's a local business doing things right from the ground up.

Great staff and still has a great selection of shoes and apparel. What I learned by running myself is their fantastic shop runs that they put on several days per week and on every other Saturday, they have the assisted long run or "ALR" where there a lot of people, maybe ~100 all running different distances and paces on pre-set routes, like a 5K, 10K, 10 mile, etc. so you can pick a distance and pace and probably have someone to run with. They also provide Strava maps on their site so you really will not get lost. Best part is that these runs are free, they do it just because they love running and the running community. Kudos, amigos.

Ladies, listen up…read more You know when you're bloated and feeling uncomfortable and fat and stuffed full of chocolate and you know that shopping is the last thing in the freaking world that you want to do? WELL... Go to this Banana. Find something obnoxiously overpriced. And take it into the fitting room. They have those fancy dressing room mirrors with the trick lights that make you look 10 pounds thinner than you actually are. No. Joke. I'm a total cheapskate when it comes to clothes and would be the girl voted "most likely to sit down on something gross without looking" so Banana clothes really ain't my thing. But when it comes to dressing up, this store is one of my guilty pleasures. I've been eyeing a dress in this store for the past 6 weeks that seemed like it might be the perfect candidate for a wedding rehearsal dinner dress (that could also be reincarnated as a wear-to-work dress after the wedding). Buuuut...it was $150. And I didn't want to spend $150, even if it was silk. Well. Today it was on sale for under $80. Not too shabby. And neither was my ass in that fitting room mirror. +5 stars for the awesome mirror. -3 stars for being a waste of money. +1 bonus star for the awesome mirror. =3 stars

Yes, I see you have sales, you always have sales. STOP interrupting my precious time of my lunch hour to talk my ears off telling that indeed you have a sale. Now that that's said. They're customer service is really spotty. Where I want more help is in the fitting rooms. I want to be able to come out and have someone grab a different color/size when I need it. I emphasize timing because sometimes I only have a 30 mins lunch break. They should know their downtown clientele. The store is generally clean and in good order. I just wish they would spend more time in the fitting rooms helping out rather than talking their customers' ears off about the stupid credit cards or sales. When asked yet another time at the check-out if I had a BR card I said 'Yes' because it's easier than hearing a speech again and took out my American Express to pay and they were like "You should use your BR card to get 10% off" I found this so rude. Who are you to tell me what freaking credit card to use?!?! I realize they have a job to do but they should be more sensitive to their customers. I'm not only shopping for myself but my husband. They are really close to losing both our business completely to J. Crew and other stores.
