Costco is one of my favorite places. I just love it. So, for reasons I don't entirely understand, we will make traveling to new Costcos a part of our date night. Vacaville isn't too far from my house so we decided to head out to Vacaville Costco to give it a whirl. All and all I like it! It's sort of in a weird corner of Vacaville but that's actually pretty convenient because there's a big parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding parking. This Costco is large and well stocked. The lines aren't too long, the store is clean, and they have a gas station. I don't think I'll give up my Woodland Costco in exchange for this one but I also won't go out of my way to avoid as I would for some other locations. For me, it's always good to know there are more good Costcos around and this one is definitely going on that list! read more

So I really like Costco, good prices great product. Going to give a 1 star for the OPTICAL SERVICES. The cost to get glasses to Costco is really a fair price, I don't default a fair price doesn't mean is the best price. Costco does not support the glasses they sell you!! That fact is they really fail on this. I found it is cheaper to actually buy classes through Kaiser or another optical store because Costco just does not back the product they sell. I have two items one to reports. I had one pair glasses, designer frames that the actual welding failed, and I took them back to Costco and thought product defect. They just said sorry we don't back the construction of the frames, you will have to buy new one frames. Important note these pair of classes were not 2 months old. Shame on them! Second issue, we where told that if you scratch of your glasses within your first year you can bring them back and have the lenses fixed. I probably buy 4 to 6 pair of glasses to Costco in the last years, between my wife and I. I brought back one pair glasses that had fallen on the coating was coming off, they treated that like a scratch I figure product failure on there product. I went in today to get a second pair that I just bought three months ago and dropped I was told you get one free scratch repair in your lifetime. I am buy my classes through Kiaser or lens crafters as they do back their product. Don't buy glasses from COSTCO. read more

Don't get me wrong by the score here, OVER-ALL I LOVE COSTCO. MY 1 STAR REVIEW IS DUE TO COSTCO REMODELING AND PUTTING A NEW ENTRANCE TO THE TIRE CENTER THAT IS WIDE OPEN TO THE INSIDE OF THE STORE RIGHT NEXT TO THE DELI AREA TABLES WHERE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO EAT THEIR FOOD. IT IS DISGUSTING! Just who thought that was a good idea? Tires are filled with poisonous chemicals! TIRES STINK! Would you want to go eat your dinner in the middle of Les Schwabs? How about sitting in a mechanic's shop eating the meal you just purchased? Effectively that is what is happening here. I used to relax there with a bite to eat and a soda after shopping. Not anymore. I took about 2 bites of my pizza today and had to wrap it back up and leave because of the tire fumes ruining my meal. This new change also means that while people are shopping they are forced to breath the tire fumes. I will definitely be limiting my shopping time in Costco now because I don't want to breathe that. WHOEVER MADE THIS CHOICE OF OPENING THE TIRE CENTER TO THE REST OF THE STORE SHOULD BE FIRED. YOU DEFINITELY WERE NOT THINKING. There was already an entrance to the tire center right outside the rest of the store where it belongs but now you bricked the wall in and the rest of us have to breathe tire fumes inside the store. I suppose Sam's club might be getting more of my business now. This Costco literally STINKS! Suggestion to correct the problem you've made: Upgrade your senseless remodel by installing glass walls and a glass door that can be shut to keep the fumes where they belong which is IN THE TIRE SHOP NOT IN THE FOOD COURT OR THE REST OF THE STORE. I switched over to this pharmacy a while ago and I've had some issues with it I came from Vallejo and I'm transferring my stuff back over because Vacaville people are rude, I went in today to go pick up my inhaler and the lady at the front door was a complete bitch for no reason, tried to tell me I needed a Costco card to go to the pharmacy and that I shouldn't have my prescriptions come here if I'm not a member Well honey I am a member just forgot my card plus my moms been working at a Costco warehouse since 1996 and now a manger so I think I know what I'm doing. And for the guy at the pharmacy counter was also an asshole attitude for no reason and I'm just like sir there's no need for it. I'm a manger myself and if I found out this how my employees were acting towards costumers I'd be pretty upset. read more

Love Costco. How can you go wrong at Costco? The baked items are amazing, it's never as crowded as the Fairfield location, gas station, huge bottles of alcohol to go along with the humongous trays of deli meat or maybe the huge $10 pizza. Need passport photos? This is the cheapest place in the area to get them done! I've priced them against Walmart, Walgreens, etc, for almost $5 they give you 4 pictures and they're ready in less than 10 minutes. I'm sure it's way less, but I went shopping after I had them taken and picked them up when I was done. If you forget your coupon book, they always have them at the guest counter or at the registers. read more

This is probably one of the least busy Costco's I have ever been too! We parked right up front, no mad house looking for parking or people backed up waiting for other people to leave etc. That being said, the store inventory sort of reflects the lack of business as well. When have you ever been to a Costco that didn't carry large bags of Dorito's LOL? So this Costco isn't so busy, but they might not carry some of the items your accustomed to finding at Costco as well. There were only two free sample stands, how sad since I love trying new products and eating samples of ones that I already know I like :) The food stand had a new Brisket Sandwich: Egg type bun brisket, coleslaw for $4.99 The sandwich wasn't bad but the brisket and coleslaw both lacked any distinct flavor. read more

Usually I love Costcos. I am a happy shareholder and indulge fondly in purchasing paper towels by the 48 count, toilet paper in quantities enough to mummify a small town, bananas up the wazoo, and 50 pound bags of rice that lasts forever. I enjoy the indulgence of being able to live in America and purchase stuff in bulk. Honestly? I hate this Costco location. It's hard to get in and out of, and it's in the middle of butt-effing-nowhere. Seriously. So glad I didn't go to Davis. What my biggest gripe about is the proof that it is located in butt-effing-nowhere. How does a Costco survive with only two gas station islands!?! The new one built next to me in San Jose has 4!!! Okay, who doesn't love Costco?! I come here everytime I go back to Davis to get groceries and to eat lunch. What I love about Costco: 1) Free samples (I can be satisfied with all the free samples they have) 2) Their $1.50 polish dogs with a drink (includes free refills!) 3) Their large portion of foods that come in huge packages (definitely can last you a long time to finish it). It's Costco. So you should know what you are going to get before ever walking in the big doors. Their photo center and tire center associates are way nicer than your average said associates elsewhere. As a matter of fact, I had a blown tire repaired at Costco, and the tire center staff was uber nice, and went above and beyond to help my sad, middle-aged, dingy-red-headed self out! As per my shopping experience; it's Costco. As long as I can avoid the places where the "sample seagulls " congregate, then shopping is easy enough. Just be sure to avoid peak times on the weekend, or you are likely to wish you'd never been born, while waiting FOREVER in a cheek-out line. But, as I said in the beginning: it's Costco, so you should know what you are going to get before you ever walk into the store. :-) read more

This is my favorite Costco location (besides the one in Maui). I have actually been able to run-in and run-out at this location, which is nearly impossible at any other Costco west of this one. The details of my liking are: somewhat close parking to the door, hardly a line for customer service (this is where the fanciest people work) and fast-moving check-out lines. This store is always clean and the employees are always polite. The sample people don't mind if you stalk them either! I have had some good conversations with them about their samples too. They know what they are serving! My only wish is that they would carry more Asian items like other stores. read more

This review is strictly for the optical department. I originally went in on Labor Day to inquire about ordering a pair of glasses. I gave them my prescription; which Camryn failed to return. I needed to wait a day and call my eye doctor to release the prescription order. Not a big deal. I did and verified with my insurance that I could use the benefits elsewhere. I returned to Costco on 9/8/19 to pick out frames and get the total so I knew how much I'd need to order the glasses. Camryn wasn't as friendly as he was on Labor Day. He failed to acknowledge his error by not returning or saving my prescription. Then, he called VSP, for confirmation and he was told my carrier was MES. He said he could place the order, but I could just pay the cash price, double what I was quoted when I checked earlier in the week. His attitude was unprofessional and condescending. I actually refused to work with him and waited for another person to assist me. I was clearly upset by this point. Has ANYONE taken accountability, I wouldn't have been as irritated as I was. I made a complaint to management, but didn't think it would be addressed to my satisfaction, so I just walked off. Paula, from Costco optical called this morning to say there was an insurance glitch and I could place my order now. It's the amount I told them it was. Obviously, I knew what I was talking about, even though they discarded what I was saying the day before. She said I could come in to place the order. When I asked why I couldn't do it over the phone, she said, "customers typically don't like giving their number over the phone, but I will make an exception if you want to do it that way." Exception? Orders do not need to be placed in person; so it's not an exception. Way to go out of your way to make a situation just a bit worse. We ended the call. I decided that I would go out of my way and utilize another Costco instead of dealing with Vacaville. They have gone out of their way to be unprofessional. I called back and spoke with Jeanette. She wasn't listening to what I was telling her. Frustrated, I asked for her manager. She was nice enough to disconnect the call. I called back, got a hold of a manager and said I want all my information removed. I would go to another store. If I had $400 to waste, I would just order through the eye doctor. As it is, $95 is the price at Costco, so I need to use them (economic-wise). I just upgraded my membership too. Had I known this was the behavior, I wouldn't have wasted the extra money. I prefer the Vacaviile store. I will go out of my way and try to go to Cordelia or Vallejo, when I have the opportunity. HORRIBLE customer service!!!! read more

Pandemic: Costco refuses to allow outside pickup. They will deliver a limited amount of dry goods to my area but that's it. We have an Executive Membership and it is pretty much wasted. Sam's Club does allow outside pickup, as do almost all grocery stores. But not Costco. They obviously have not noticed that there is a pandemic. I used to really like Costco but this changes things. This applies to all Costcos. They could get creative and even allow an outside vendor to shop and then their "members" to pick up on site. What a huge disappointment. read more

I'm pretty biased but I think this is the best Costco I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot (Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Fairfield, etc.). They have everything that I need to buy, I get monthly coupons, awesome membership service, great return policy, etc. Plus, the food court is so yum! There's also a Sam's Club in Vacaville, across the street from the main Walmart (we have three Walmarts!). They're good as well, but Costco has their Kirkland brand and much more frozen goods options. Sam's Club has more drinks and boxed options though (like mini packs of cereal). read more

They are the only one you cannot go in the exit. First off, thank you for providing my husband with the absolute "best store on earth". Second, wanted to jump on a give a great review for Sammy -- he was a cashier on our most recent trip. He checked us out promptly with great conversation. He made us feel welcome and even joked with our two kids who sat in the cart behind him. It was nice to be greeted with a smile and to feel actually cared for -- it was if he genuinely wanted to see how we were doing. When I mentioned to a few workers that i appreciated him, they informed me he doesn't get a lot of good reviews, which saddens me. I appreciated prompt checkout with quality conversation-- normally it's one or the other and Sammy effectively did both. Will swerve to his line next time we see him working. read more

Don't get me wrong I love Costco, but what they have done with their ice cream in the food court is a travesty. First they took away the chocolate ice cream and replace it with a acai, but you can't get just acai, you have to get it mixed with the new vanilla ice paste. and they change the vanilla ice cream to something that resembles yellow paste. It taste so artificial And overly sweet and it is not creamy like the other ice cream they used to have. We won't be stopping by the food court for any ice cream in the future if they continue serving this crap. It's Gross! read more

What can I say! First off, the food court is awesome! Even with the limited choices the food is very decent for it's price. C'mon a $1.50 for a hotdog and free refills of soda already included you just can't pass it up. The only con--the long lines! As for the shopping experience always a good one. Whenever we come here we end up buying more than our intended purchases. Since the prices are so reasonable compared to buying it at your local store. You just want to buy it because the next time you come back it might not be there anymore. The only con--there are some items that certain Costco locations carry that they might not have at other Costco locations. The check out line is pretty long as expected but it moves pretty quicky. As for parking in this location it's pretty huge so it shouldn't be problem spotting one. This location is my favorite by far. read more

I've done this multiple times but, I went in to purchase food for my family because they are at high risk and used my dad's Costco card and the manager refused to let me buy anything because it wasn't my card. We live a few minutes away and I guess the manager had to physically see him to see he was a real person or something lol and when I asked if i could call him or FaceTime him to show him he was real he said no. OMG! Costco Vacaville is virtually EMPTY at 12:00 NOON! There's more employees than customers! I usually go to the Folsom store (near home) but I'm down here for work. Thought I'd look for Tahoe Blue Vodka, but none here. It must just be a regional product up my way. Only found one thing that's different at this Costco: They absolutely will *not* let you go through the exit to go to the food place. You need to walk through the entrance, cut through a checkstand, and head for the food. read more

More then a few Yelp reviews tell you that this Costco is not busy. My experience has proved otherwise. Maybe I am just going at the wrong time (lunch hour or right after work) but almost every time I went, there was a huge check out line. Yes, few of these times they cleary did not have all registers open but on numerous other occasions like last time that was just not the case. As this is the closest Costco to work I come here on weekly/ bi-weekjly basis. They are usually well stocked, but some items that I am able to find in Woodland are not available here (Sugarfree RedBull). Overall I like the Woodland store much better as it is less busy, newer, and the selection seems slightly better. All of the Cotscos in the area since recently have a pretty good selection of craft brews, this location seemingly being left out. They still have few cases of Firestone Double Jack brewed in January on the shelves....wonder who will ever buy these?! I guess Vacaville is just not a craft beer town... Overall this Costco is not the worst you will find and I keep on coming back to it because of its' location. Better than Fairfield but worse than Woodland. read more

We have been coming to this Costco for years and this place never lets us down. The employees are really friendly and helpful. I don't like getting bothered about the premium membership every time we check out. Bathrooms are usually really clean, but with 50,000 shoppers ever day I can understand it getting a little dirty. On 7/29/21 I went to COSTCO Vacaville #694 to return a bracelet that I had received from my adult children for my Birthday. The bracelet was in the original box, it had not even been tried on. It was OBVIOUS that this item was NEW. I told the associate that it was purchased online and that it was on sale, $50. off the original price. COSTCO Associate "Adam P" waited on me. This was a gift so I did not have the receipt. I called my Son to get his COSTCO card #, as the associate that was waiting on me had requested. This way he was able to access this purchase on my Son's account, which he readily did. This associate told me that I had done "excessive jewelry returns" and that I would be unable to return this item !!! I was shocked to say the least. First of all, this purchase was on my Son's account that he had already looked up and VERIFIED this purchase !!! He was the one who asked me to call my Son for this information, which I did in front of him. The associate even wrote the information that he needed as my DIL gave him the information over the phone that he requested. The associate then proceeds to tell me that I have done "excessive jewelry returns", so he would be unable to issue a refund or a credit. His reply was that I would just have to keep it !!! I inquired as to what he was referring to as far as "my excessive jewelry returns". Within the past year my husband purchased maybe 2-3 Diamond rings for me, out of the COSTCO AD, in anticipation of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. I had not seen anything in the store that I was interested in like the ones online. None were available in MY SIZE, I had only planned to keep one, and that would depend on having it sized to fit me AFTER purchase, from an outside jeweler. I wanted to pick after I saw them in person. So, I do not think that it is unusual at all that we probably did spend $25,000. On these Diamond rings, knowing that I was not going to keep but one. I was CAREFUL to keep my receipts, and to keep everything in the proper boxes, just as I had received them. We went to a reputable jeweler to inquire which ring would be best to size. We were made aware that IF we "sized" any of these rings, it would void any warranty. SO, since COSTCO could not obtain the size that I needed, we decided to return them. I only had these rings for a very short time, they were in the exact original packaging, with the Receipt. I returned them to COSTCO FAIRFIELD #453, NO PROBLEM AT ALL, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, and I was thanked for being a Loyal COSTCO customer. This was almost a year ago !!! Needless to say, I took exception to the way that I was treated @ COSTCO VACAVILLE #694 on 7/29/21, by associate "Adam P". We were talking about a refund in the amount of $240.00 REALLY !!!!! I was willing to take a Store Credit or a credit to my COSTCO CITI CARD. After talking to a real Manager, he had another Costco employee credit my account. I think that COSTCO does have a very liberal return policy. In fact, I have seen people ABUSE the return policy at COSTCO. I have seen people return half eaten food products, vacuums that are filthy and worn out, clothes w/o tags, soiled, worn out shoes, soiled mattresses, torn furniture, the list is ENDLESS. As COSTCO MEMBERS, we all share in losses such as this. Then, today to have "Adam P" treat me and talk to me in the manner in which he did, was very unprofessional, and uncalled for. Their optical department has no system for ensuring first come-first served. There isn't ropes or a sign stating where a line starts. I shop at Costco nearly every week to meal prep for my family and today was the first time I left there feeling rather frustrated. My daughter and I got drinks from the little food court and the gentlemen working in the food area was clearly not in the best of moods. I would like to give a shout out to Lupe. She was very helpful at the register while putting our items back in the cart despite the fact that she had to deal with an extremely unpleasant costumer prior to helping us. This costumer did not like how Lupe placed the items in her cart because they accidentally fell over. This costumer asked to speak with a manager since apparently, she was incapable of using her common sense to just quickly fix the things in her cart instead of making a whole commotion out of it. I hope Lupe's hard work will continue to be noticed and not overlooked due to this incident. read more
