Great place to work at overall good pay and benefits. Technology is outdated from the 1980's or 90's which needs a refresh. Supervisor Misty kind of short is very nice and kind but very happy and laughs a lot which is contagious great lady to know. Overall nice employees if treated kindly. read more

This place is the greatest! You gotta love Costco on many levels. 1. Food - High quality at reasonable to cheap prices. 2. Growing commitment to organic products especially at the Superior store due to it's proximity to Boulder. 3. Corporate governance - These guys pay their employees far better than Sam's club and they retain them for far longer. I see the same smart committed people over and over again at this store. The Costco CEO is fairly compensated for performance vs. other companies that over pay management for losing money. 4. Environmental policies - They are genuinely interested in saving energy, reducing waste, and saving money in the process. 5. Support of reservist called to serve in Iraq. The only down side to Costco is that if you buy something and really like it - it may not be there the next time you want it. So if something is really great stock up and get a chest freezer to store it. PS - What's up with Theron M.'s review? No other reviews, weird angry tone about employees and management - maybe he/she is the one that got the boot. What sort of customer interaction might spawn a sentence like "Costco managers do not discern what word of honor might mean." Seems like this review might need to get the boot. read more

I feel sorry for the people working in the tire center. They are over scheduled to the point where they can't answer their phone & have no time to call their customers to let them know their cars are done or their tires have arrived. If you try calling them the phone will ring 10-12 times & then hang up on you. If you call the main line for the store to leave a message for the tire center they won't have time to call you back either. read more

Great store. I was a previous Sam Club Guy...not anymore. The Superior Costco is nice because it is in Boulder County, so it has Eldora Ski packs and other Boulder specialties. Nothing special about this store as far as layout and people...both nice. My favorite thing about shopping at Costco is stopping for some eats after I'm done. The inexpensive treats are delicious. read more

This place has everything you need - in MASS QUANTITY. The thing I find myself saying as I walk through is, "Do I actually NEED this - or does it just seem like a good deal?" Because they do have good deals on things. I find it has a place for good value, as long as I can find a place to store all the stuff when I get home! read more

Big store, though I can't compare to other Costcos since I haven't been to another one in like 20+ years. There are just a handful of things I am actually interested in buying here, and they're at a good enough discount to warrant me keeping my membership. Those things would probably be: Kerrygold butter (wish they had unsalted), EV coconut oil, larabars (need better selection), decaf coffee and paper products/household stuff in bulk. There's a lot of candy, soda, bread etc stuff I don't ever buy but I understand this is probably marketed at schools & other institutions. My only wish is that they had a better meat department. I can't get organic frozen chicken breasts (big want) and they don't seem to have roasts, bones, organs or things like ham hock, hog jowl etc. There are a lot of unusual snacks (sweet potato corn chips, dark chocolate covered everything) and a pretty sizeable frozen section full of weird meals in bulk that I would never buy either. Yet somehow they don't sell crunchy PB! Oh and also, their gas station only takes American Express as credit. Ultimately I hope to find a Costco with better selection, even if that's not what they're known for. read more

This review is particularly about the OPTICAL department and SUSAN specifically (sorry I didn't get her last name. This is about the SUPERIOR COLORADO store on Marshall Road. I've always purchased my lenses at Lens Crafters but this year I decided to give the Costco optical a try. I loved the frames I picked out and the total cost for the frame and lenses was under $200! And they were progressives. I only use clear glasses for night driving. I don't need glasses for watching tv, computer work, walking around, etc. But for driving they give me that extra level of crispness that makes a difference. I didn't drive at night for about 2 weeks after I got the glasses. The first time I noticed that there was something a little off about the way I was seeing. I thought it might be because of that new glasses thing where you have to "get used" to a new prescription. Over the next 2 weeks I drove another couple of times and decide there was something wrong. I called to make an appointment with my Optometrist and learned he was in Canada with his family until the end of December. I got my glasses at the end of September. So I made an appointment and went in. Sure enough, the right lens was different from the result he came up with when he re-examined my eyes. BUT the right lens was exactly what the original prescription had called for. So he gave me a corrected prescription and I went back to Costco on Jan 9th. I spoke with Susan and told her the story fully expecting to be told that A: I was way to late for any free changes and B: It was the optometrist's fault and Costco made the glasses correctly to the doctor's specification. To my amazement and delight Susan said that while they had a 90 day policy on corrections she would honor it anyways since it was only 11 days past the 90 days. Could have knocked me over with a feather. Not only was she agreeable to fixing the prescription error, she even agreed to have the progression moved down as far as possible because I felt that it came up a little too high for night driving (when I really didn't need to read any small print!). I was SO delighted with this treatment of me that I decided to buy another pair of glasses because the frame on my prescription sunglasses (which I wear 10 times more than I wear the clear night driving glasses) had recently broken. So I picked out a frame and waited. Yesterday on my way home from a trip to LA I got an auto notification from Costco saying one of my frames was ready. It was 5:40 and I was 5 minutes from the store on my way home (they close at 6). So I popped in and picked them up. They fit perfectly and I could immediately tell the difference in the way I could see. I was literally in and out in 5 minutes! I wore the glasses all the way home (in the dark) and they were perfect.! I'm astounded that Costco has such a policy and people who are willing to and able to see the VALUE to the Costco brand of treating their customers the way Susan treated me. I am a MUCH bigger fan of this establishment than I was before. EXCELLENT customer service. If any of the big wigs read this, PLEASE commend Susan in Optical at the Superior, CO on Marshall Road. MOST Sincerely, Marie Groh read more

TL;DR - Satisfaction NOT guaranteed. I've gone in this Costco two times and both were less than pleasant experiences. I was a loyal Sams Club customer, simply due to how far Costco was, up until I moved to Colorado where Costco is more convenient now. I'd love to support Costco, especially because I believe in their corporate vision, their commitment to employees and the fair wages they pay. The same cannot be said about Sams Club, but after these experiences, I'd rather spend my money there... First Trip: - While checking out my Amex was declined. Immediately the cashier told me, "Did you pay your credit card bill?" Why, yes, I did, but this is a business card and after a change in employees Amex canceled the wrong card (my card) and not the employee who is no longer with the organization. It was not a big deal, I paid with my personal debit card but was completely thrown off from how rude the cashier was. Second Trip: - We had three carts, for three separate transactions using the same card. The reason we do this is for splitting business, personal and joint expenses. While checking out with my spouse, who is on my account but of the same gender and I, a representative from Costco immediately accused us of violating Costco's terms of service for sharing a card. It wasn't the cashier, but rather a random employee who interjected. The cashier was caught off guard, especially since we nicely explained that my spouse did not have their card on them, but we were on the same account. She demanded his ID, of which he promptly and kindly provided, and ushered off to verify that he was indeed on the account. After she confirmed that he was on my account I politely asked if I could speak to her. I kindly explained that I wished she would have approached the situation more calmly, instead of jumping to conclusions and being intimidating. She refused to look me in the eyes or, after I explained myself, acknowledge that I was talking to her. I asked her if she was listening, which is where I more than likely came off rude, and she said "what, you were talking to me?" At that point I asked for a manager, of which I cannot tell if he really cared or not. When I explained how it's been the second time that a Costco rep at their location has been less-than-ideal he asked if he could see my receipt from the first time. I explained that I didn't have it on me but that I could provide him the date and time, since he said he'd like to talk to the cashier. Upon offering to look it up on my bank statement he said it would "take too long" to look it up. For the reasons above, the fact that employees and management do not represent Costco well I give them 1 star. read more

Incredibly rude cashier at this Costco. Her name was Bonnie M. Assumed that I did not live with my boyfriend and harassed us for using two different types of payment. She snapped at me and made me put everything on my card. Horrible experience, makes me never want to go back to this location. read more

This Costco is just "okay." The goods provided are great. Love the variety, selection, of course. No complaint at all about what Costco has or services. Great quality, good produce, etc. My issue is with the employees. Let me start by saying that most of the employees were very friendly and personable. The cashiers were especially nice and accommodating. However, there was a weird incident at the entrance- there were lots of people, families and individuals, streaming into Costco in front of my friend and I as we approached the front doors. None of them were asked to show their cards when they entered, the man at the front simply greeted them. At least 15 people walked in before us, no problem. My friend and I go to walk in, and immediately the employee asked to see our membership card. Important to note is that the only difference between us and the other people going in is that my friend is a very tall black man. It was a very, very odd coincidence that we were the only ones asked for membership cards. People continued walking in around us while he "checked" our right to be there. I had been to this Costco twice previously, without my friend, and have never been stopped on the way in. What gives, Costco? read more

I understand its busy and crowded but I was treated very poorly by the cashier. In fact she almost seemed hostile. That was my experience in my last two visits. I don't understand what the deal is, but that is why I'm only giving two stars read more

Well, what can I say? I've pared my shopping down to stops at Costco and Trader Joe's. I like this location and the cashiers there are friendly and fast. They seem to have deleted several favorite items lately, but such is life in the grocery lane. The gas prices are great, compared to where I live. Glasses are good, too. read more

Usually purchase a few things at Costco and if it's minimal I ask if I can just buy it at the pharmacy when I pick up prescriptions. I get the yellow receipt showing I paid for it and walk through the register area. I kid you not I have been rudely questioned about 3-4 times asking if I paid for my 24 pack case of tea through the register area. #1 Yes I have #2 Why would I steal tea and #3 how would I ever get past the receipt police at the door. Not very happy about how I was treated... just rude! read more

Christian in the food court was complaining about getting nothing done throughout my transaction. I'm assuming complaining about the line that was forming behind me of hungry guests. This is one of the lower quality costco's that I've shopped at. Their produce section has gone from pretty good quality to less than mediocre within 1 yr. Among other things, I bought avocados at this costco because they were fresh and great quality. But the last 3 bags (they actually come in nets) I bought were all bruised and I had no idea of this until I was cutting into it, thinking it was ripe. It wasn't ripe, but bruised. That's why it was soft and felt ripe. (See pictures) I also always buy the baby greens that come in the container and when I opened it that night, the middle was all gunky and black. The peaches I bought (12 count) were from Washington state and were speckled with black on the inside, and had the consistency of potatoes. No sweetness, just a mild peach flavor, no sweetness and thick potato like texture. I now go to the costco in aurora or highlands ranch because although it's far, I can expect constant good quality from them. read more

Standard Costco. Friendly and enthusiastic Asian cashier though! Clean and meets Costco expectations!

The lines are always long, the parking lots is like playing dodgem. Also, does costco actually believe we believe the BS they give us when they 'look at our receipts to ensure price accuracy'? I don't think holding a receipt for under 10 seconds and drawing a line with a highlighter does any loss prevention. Holding up people to do a potentially demoralizing false imprisonment when they own the property is stupid. The only reason they get away with it is it is in the member contract but really, do you think the 60 year old guy or the kid playing on his cell phone is checking my cart? DUMB. read more

Just got home and opened the bag of clementines I bought there and found half to be ROTTEN. This is not the first time I have had disappointing produce from this Costco. The packaging and sheer bulk of some items makes it difficult to see when suboptimal fruits or veggies are lurking among those that look fine. And of course it is absurd to be expected to bring it back for a refund if you live at a distance. Buyers beware read more

"If they don't have it, we don't need it" (That is our family motto when it comes to Costco). The people who work at this particular store are also incredibly helpful and go above and beyond. The best customer service of any retail store anywhere as far as I'm concerned! read more

Avoid if at all possible!!! This store is crowded disorganized and understaffed. And the staff they do have are unhelpful and very judgmental of your purchases. I asked one woman where bacon was located and she said not here on this side go ask someone on the other side of the store. and god forbid you forget your member card one time! The lady actually said "I suppose I'll let you out just this once" in all seriousness. Um let me out? Why don't I just leave my stuff here and go to Safeway? I'm not a criminal I'm paying you. I'm a huge fan of Costco, but this store frustrates me. I called to ask a question for a specific department. The operator transferred me to that department then it rang for four minutes. I don't shop here often enough to rate the store and checkout but the people working in the optometry department are USELESS. I wanted to order some prescription sunglasses but the frames I saw a couple of days earlier were no longer on the shelf. When I mentioned this to one of the three staff people standing behind the counter, their response was a) blank stares and b) to turn their backs and continue staring into space. When I asked if that was literally the best they could do for me, one of them took out their phone and started checking something while the other two just stood there. Utter lack of interest and total apathy. No offer to help me find something else or check their stock for the missing frames. I don't think they could have cared less about helping a potential customer. read more

It was inevitable, living where I do (close to Flatirons Crossing Mall) that I'd end up here someday -- I just needed to get access to a Costco card; and my best friend finally said "let's check it out", so we did. I've only been to about 3 Costco's, and this one was about the same concept as the others -- large warehouse filled to the brim with 24-packs of paper towels, fancy cereal 2-packs, 5-gallon jugs of salsa, cooking spices, clothing, mattress toppers...you name it. It's very true that the prices on meat here are outstanding, but I usually don't get giant packages of meat on my trips there. Most trips there have been last-minute rushes in the waning minutes late on Sunday, so I haven't really gotten the chance to explore this store fully, and I will admit that up front - maybe if I did, I'd give it 5 stars. I recently went there looking to see what their availability was on various sodas, and they had Coke, Diet Coke, and I think I spotted one case of Coke Zero there, but not any Cherry Coke Zero. They are somewhat limited in their selection of carbonated drinks...and there seemed to be a few other areas as well they were lacking. Not to mention when I fled, jogging, back to the produce section when I saw someone in front of me had a 2-lb clamshell of blueberries, I was practically blocked by a staffer saying the store was closed. He agreed to get me the clamshell, but geez -- what did you think I was going back there for? That being said, a 2 lb clamshell of fresh, really good quality blueberries was an amazing $5. I think I like the Costco on Havana in Aurora better, but this one's pretty good though. read more

What a marvelous stock up warehouse. This particular Costco has an abundance of organic and natural food offerings that makes it a winner!

Kirkland everything boom! I'm a frequent shopper at this store. 1 gallon of mustard on hand at all times.

My story with Costco is similar to the one written about Susan at the Superior Costco in the optical department. The individual who helped me however, was Tanya Nicholson. Tanya was thorough, knowledgeable and listened carefully to my concerns. She was honest and fair and resolved my issues in a professional manner. Superior Eye Health should be extremely happy with her performance and professionalism. I felt very comfortable in this very small office in a huge box store and will continue to be a customer as I have been for the last 15 years. Thank you again Tanya! read more

I have been shopping at the Costco in Superior for years now and love the store. However, recently I have been having a bad experience from one of the Checkers. His name is Calvin V. Usually Calvin is just a smart Alic and I can deal with his bad attitude. However, today on Christmas Eve 2013 he went too far. He demanded I pay him the money for my purchase while he was checking someone else out at the same time. He asked for it - then Again, making sure he acquired my cash before he moved on. After getting my money he turned to the customer ahead of me and took her money. Then, he checked her out. So he had both of our money in his hands at the same time. When I told him he should not be doing this (I was a Checker for years) the assistant who was getting merchandise boxed up said "Oh, yes he can. I have seen him do it many times." As I began to explain this was not acceptable, Calvin began to get short with me and wanted me to move on. I'm sure who ever reads this will understand the collection and redistribution of money is suppose to be accomplished in a VERY specific maner for several reasons. I feel compelled to write about this as it is obvious this checker has no regard for customers and believes he can just do whatever he feels like at anytime. I complained to the supervisor as the manager was not available. However, I feel this is not enough as it is obvious Calvin is doing this to many customers. I care about the Costco I go to and I do not feel I should have part of my Christmas Eve ruined by this Uncaring and abrasive checker. I will be contacting the manager soon. read more

Costco stands out among all other grocers for one reason - MEAT. They very high quality meats at amazing prices. I've never been able to get the butchers to do a special request cut, but if you don't need anything out of the ordinary this is the place to go. The prices for a full beef tenderloin (for a roast) is about half the price of your average grocer and the quality is superb. The same goes for other big cuts like pot roast, brisket, etc. The steaks are also very good and well priced, but it seems like a shame to buy $60 of quality steaks and freeze half of them, but if you're feeding the Brady Bunch go for it. Another great feature of Costco is their amazing return policy. They have a lifetime return policy. You can return anything that is not personal electronics or a TV even years down the road with no questions asked. Some people were abusing the policy to get periodic upgrades to things like iPods, but still even those get a 90 days no questions asked return period. Going on the weekends is a pain and should be avoided if at all possible. The place is a complete zoo. Parking is a pain, it's crowded, and there are long lines. On the plus side, they have all the free samples going on over the weekend, and they staff a lot of registers so the lines move quicker than you'd think. As others noted they also have a good selection of quality produce. There is also a good selection of vitamins here too. I haven't tried their pharmacy, but would give that a shot too. They don't accept Visa, which is what my healthcare FSA card is on, which brings me to my next point.. I really wish they accepted something other than AmEx and debit cards. Anyway, if you're looking for quality meat skip the expensive butchers and Whole Foods and head in here. read more
