1 hour wait to have the quantity changed on my prescriptions that were called in the day before. Not worth the $4 Costco discount. I'll just go back to a regular pharmacy. read more

First I want to say I love Costco. I shop spend thousands of dollars there every year. That said,Shoreline Costco is to be avoided. During our short trip to pick up a desk we encountered 4 grouchy unpleasant employees and it took us fifteen minutes to get anyone to help us load the heavy box into the truck. If ever a group needed a lesson on customer service it would be this one. read more

I don't know why I have higher expectations for Costco and because of this I am truly disappointed everytime I go here. For starters, the parking lot is a hot mess all the time. Cars going every which way, pedestrians not paying attention to where they are going and then getting irritated with me if I almost hit them. Now inside the store, it's nice inside for the most part. Easy to navigate around. Depending on the time of day you are there, actually anytime you are there and there are samples, you should bring in your riot gear. The customers are known to do whatever they need to do to get that sample for them and their 3+ kids they have with them. I wish Costco would regulate this better cause if you aren't there for samples it gets in the way of your shopping. These people are nuts!!! Now to the check out, lines lots of lines no matter the time of day. Cause if it's slower they will only have a few cash registers open. So expect to wait no matter how busy it is. Plus most shoppers are buying a boat load of crap. Will I be back? Of course. Will I be irritated? Yep I sure will. read more

honestly costco is costco, amazing and potentially cheap, but there are a few things here that they've done that i dislike their tire center is full of grouchy guys most of the time-- i know i went during a busy peak and these guys have been working hard but there's not need to be a jerk-- duh i'm a girl and aside from knowing how to change a flat tire and to see if my tires are bald or not i know little to nothing more about them, gimme a little break and more explanation to the fancy words you use on occasion cashiers and their helpers are usually the people i have issues with the most. 1. majority of the time they don't box unless you ask and when you do, they act like you're such an inconvenience. 2. please don't dump/throw my grapes, eggs, and other fragile & bruisable food at the BOTTOM of the box/cart and then throw heavier cans of soup and veggies on top. that's like bagging 101, even people who haven't worked at a grocery store should know that. 3. i've definitely picked up expired product there before. one time i even picked up whitestrips that expired one year before the date i purchased it. eek-- at least it wasn't food upside is they are great about returns, even if they aren't polite. of course i'm not gonna stop coming here, prices make it worth the trip, but it wouldn't hurt for them to improve a few things. read more

Tried to return a love seat that the arm broke on and they wouldn't take it back. We bought it quite some time ago, but after recently hearing about how great Costco was about honoring the quality of their products and returning defective items I called to see if it was possible to return it. Customer service told me that it was up to the individual store manager but generally if the item broke because it was defective then they would give us a refund, and if it broke because of overuse or abuse then they would not. When we tried to return it we were denied first because we were not current members, and second because of when we bought it. Nobody even looked at it. If they did it would have been clear that it was barely used and should not have broken. This treatment ensures that I will not ever again be a Costco member. I was considering using them for counter tops for my kitchen, but will not ever shop there again based on this treatment. Very disappointed. read more

I love Costco when it comes to BULK. But, it's really hard to purchase a lot of food there as a single woman! As far as TP, Cleanser, drugs, electronics, alcohol go, this is the place I go to make a purchase! This location in Shoreline is the one I go the most. I am so used to its layout. read more

This review is for the Pharmacy inside Shoreline Costco. Because of the poor customer service, I now drive miles out of my way to go to a different Costco pharmacy. At first, I was going to write off the pharmacy tech's rude behavior as being an hour before closing, but as I sat and waited (in their awkwardly placed 3 chairs in a corner) I witnessed 2 different customers become frustrated and upset with their horrible encounter with the rude staff. I cannot believe a pharmacy staff thinks it is okay to treat people coming in for medications so poorly, especially when the customers could potentially have been feeling ill. I was given snide dirty looks by the staff. The wait time at a pharmacy is to be expected but this pharmacy is ridiculous with their wait time. They treat you like you should be honored, as if visiting royalty. read more

Bought a crappy Brita water filter a couple months ago, returned it with ease and went on our way. Always happy with the prices on the bulk type items, and very pleased with their return policy. read more

This has been by far the worst experience I have had a the Costco Pharmacy. It took me two and a half hours, being sent away to come back in 30 minutes several times, before I recieved my medication. There must be something wrong with the system if I have to call my Dr. to resend a prescription. Two prescriptions were call in together, one got lost and there were no quick anwers. read more

I go to this store every two weeks. There are a few dozen items that I buy regularly (eg gas, TP, olive oil, chicken parts to freeze, booze, batteries, produce of certain types, parm, garlic, OTC meds, dog meds, flu shots) as well as the occasional impulse buy. Sure I wish they carried some things that they don't (eg scent-free laundry detergent) but I just buy those things elsewhere. Costco needs to be supplemented with other retailers, but if they have something you want, it will be a good deal. As far as the complaints about the drivers, the customers and the staff, it does not reflect my experience. You just have to pack your patience when you go. Many old folks shop here. Try to think "that could be my mother" when you are irritated by someone blocking an aisle or a parking lane. Take a deep breath and let it go. Other shoppers sometimes avoid eye contact and are rude, but most respond to a smile with a smile, and understand that we are all trying to navigate this mess together. In my experience the staff does their best, though they are scarce except up at the front end, where the blue-vested managers can always be found. I do have my issues. I bring my own bags and the baggers have apparently not been trained in basic bagging: i.e. cold items together, spread the weight among bags, separate breakables from each other with soft items, etc. As a shopper with limited mobility, the lack of signs at the end of aisles, and the constant changes in product locations, combined with no staff in the main store to ask for help, leads to many extra painful steps spent searching for items that I once could locate. The lack of enforcement of handicap parking means that it is always full, with many able bodied shoppers using other people's permits. And their refusal to install express lanes means lots of extra standing when one is just buying one or two items. These are issues that are at all Costcos and reflect what I consider to be customer-unfriendly policies. read more

re: pit stop I live closer to the Kirkland and Issaquah locations, but I come to the Shoreline location when I have to visit a relative. In terms of parking, this Costco has it worst. When the surrounding parking lots around Costco are full, one has to resort to sharing a parking lot with Home Depot. That most certainly can be a challenge, because it's a small hike. No, I'm not complaining about the exercise, but when my average bill at Cosco exceeds $200. i usually have a cart full, that makes it a bit inconvenient to haul it around. And then I have to drag the cart back to a drop station, because I do not want to be an azz and make the poor Costco employee have to fetch my cart. I really have a pet peeve on people thinking it's cool if they leave their cart anywhere they want, because the Costco employee will get it since it's 'their job'. Didn't see anything different at this location that I had not already seen at Kirkland or Issy. read more

This review primarily concerns the pharmacy, which I've been using for several years. I don't know what happened, because the service at the Aurora Village store's pharmacy used to be consistently fast and reliable, but over the last year this location has screwed up every single time I have tried to fill a prescription for brand-name drugs, versus generics. I do not need or want generics; my needs necessitate brand specific medication and my doctor writes my prescriptions accordingly, plainly instructing the pharmacy to fill it as it is written. For whatever reason, this pharmacy has refused to comply with the orders and dispensed incorrect medication, requiring me to go back and return it and wait anywhere from an hour to several days to get it refilled correctly. I put up with that for the last year, but in the last couple of months they have begun refusing to even order certain brand-name drugs and have given me lame excuses for it, to the tune of "We're not authorized to order more expensive medications because sometimes people decide they don't want them so we get stuck with them. Here's our manager's phone number, she's on vacation right now but she'll be back next week so call her and ask!" I don't know why any of that is MY problem, particularly because I have always paid out of pocket, in full, every time I have ever patronized this pharmacy. I do know that I am DONE with this place, and have transferred my prescriptions over to a smaller regional-chain pharmacy with superior customer service and thus far no absurd screwups. So goodbye forever Costco, not only does this pharmacy stink, this entire store is a throbbing zoo at all hours of operation and your parking is like Purgatory. My only regret is that I didn't leave sooner. read more

What's to say? I lurve Costco with all my heart. I have noticed since the Lynnwood store opened, it's definitely less crowded (weekends are still really busy). As someone who has shopped at Costco for years this one couldve been better in some areas. My fiancee and I actually bought memberships last night and decided we will upgrade to exec club after the first. When I say I shopped I meant using my parents to shop at other locations. Anyways Elise @ membership was super cool, helpful and polite. She answered any and all questions we had. I had signed up so that I could use the optic center. I went there and the woman working in there was incredibly rude. She actually threw her hand on her head when I asked a question about insurance. She rudley said that costco doesnt take VSP or Metlife which I know isnt true because my employer told me they did. All I wanted was to make an appt but they were fully booked. Despite the small parking lot we found a close spot within 3 minutes. Our cashier guy seemed irritated like he hated his job. I believe his name was Richard. This is an extremely busy location and is packed. I wish my first experience as a card holder wouldve been better. After all costco employees are paid well and we ARE paying to shop here so good service is expected at the very least. Prices on items were good. Got a pair of pants a sweater and some food items. Best bet is to avoid here on weekends. I will try to get someone else at the Optic center to help. read more

About once every 6 months I jump in my SUV, drive to Costco, and buy razors. Good deal on the razors. (job pays for the membership) I don't have a small business or 6 kids to feed so this is all I ever really need from Costco. I would by toilet paper but I am still using up the supply I bought three years ago. I love this country. read more

Any Costco is usually a good Costco in my mind, but the employees here are so rude! I've rarely if ever had a friendly cashier, and it seems like I always have to ask for boxes...which they never seem to have enough of. I rarely eat in the food court because the line is 20 people long all the time. I decided I was hungry enough tonight to wait and get my favorite: polish dog and a drink. The food was fine (how would you screw up packages hot dogs?) but the customer service was terrible. One employee in particular was crashing about clanging pizza pans, shouting at members to get in the other line since they were shutting that register down meaning there was only one register for 20+ people waiting to order, and snidely remarking that if they asked management for help they'd just get in trouble. He screamed pizza pickups so loudly, I'm pretty sure people in the pharmacy could hear him. He even snapped at the nice lady working the register who kept collected even though her line had just tripled with his lane closure. Retail's tough, but keep your cool dude! I can only hope the employees become nicer. read more

The only thing that sets this Costco apart is the terrible customer service.

I like this Costco, it's relatively close to my home. Which is very nice. The beer selection is typically very repetitive, and seldomly changes. Don't fall too in love with a product from this Costco, because their selection changes frequently and a lot of products are not available more then once.. Other then that, the service is great, and the check out speed is pretty typically of Costco.. read more

I shop here once a month or every other month. I really, really hate shopping here since they ended executive hour. It is insanely crowded and intense. It is difficult to find a parking space close to the store. Once inside the store, it is hard to navigate through the merchandize due to the number of people. Once you finish shopping the checkout lines are quite long. One employee told me this is the 5th busiest warehouse store in the world. Prices on some items are compelling enough to bring me back, but I avoid it like a trip to the dentist. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth shopping at a place you dread for weeks before steeling yourself up for it. Costco has somehow managed to transform itself into Wal-Mart. read more

Costco, despite all the comments about the parking lot, is a great place to shop--once you are inside and Costco is somewhat in control. It's not Costco but the drivers who make a hellacious mess of that parking lot. At Costco not only is the gas most often the cheapest in Shoreline, but also the pharmacy stocks both human and animal meds for LOWER PRICES by far than even my co-pay would be at Group Health! Some of them are the generics, to be sure, but for 90 simvastatin at Costco, I paid approximately $11; my co-pay at GHC would have been $43 and perhaps more. Consumer Reports also came to the same conclusion: Costco has by far the least expensive prices for one of the widest selection of drugs and they will order special drugs for you as well. And Costco has a drug plan for those whose insurance might not cover drugs. A huge plus is the courtesy and professionalism of the pharmacy staff and a direct line to this pharmacy. And, their Kirkland appliances are superb buys if Consumer Reports is to be believed, and their TP one of the best, softest bargains anywhere. read more

Who doesn't love Costco?? They have the best gas prices in town and you can stock up on just about every essential you'll ever need. I don't do much of my grocery shopping here (there are only two of us) but we buy things in bulk like coffee, toilet paper, garbage bags, body wash, vitamins, etc. If there are ever kids running around, I am sure we would end up upgrading to the premium membership to get the cash back every year. The store employees are always very helpful and friendly. read more

This Costco location stinks, literally. The smell of spoiled milk permeates throughout the entire store. It's so bad that after you leave it stays on your clothes. Other Costco stores that I have been to do not have this problem. I think it is a mix of smells from the coffee grinder that they installed and the food being cooked there. If they removed the coffee grinder it would most likely fix the issue. I've spoken to management about it and all they did was turn on a fan in the front of the store for a few days which didn't help much. They don't turn it on at all now and have basically shown that they don't care. During Winter, I leave my coat in my vehicle because I don't want that horrible smell on it. If you don't believe me, go to this store, walk around some and then when you leave, smell your clothes and you will see what I am talking about. I agree with other reviewers that the parking is bad at this location and the lines can get very long at times. I don't understand why they don't have an express checkout like most grocery stores do for those people who may only be getting a few small items. The customer service is average. Some are better than others, it just depends on which employee you talk to and when. I would suggest avoiding this location if at all possible or at least boycott it until they fix the funk. read more

I shouldn't be writing this review right now becaue I just came back from this hellhole on a Sunday afternoon. WHATEVER YOU DO, AVOID THIS PLACE ON WEEKENDS AND, ESPECIALLY, SUNDAY AFTERNOONS!!!!!!! I make the mistake about once a quarter because I procrastinate then tell myself, "Oh, it won't be too bad." Yes, yes it will. Anyway, aside from the horrors of a weekend, this Costco is pretty good. Their selection is fine and only a couple of times have I had a tizzy when they stopped carrying something. The deals are pretty good and with a family of five it's practically mandatory that we shop there. Best deals: Meat, milk, eggs, bread, Goldfish crackers, cigarettes, Ziploc bags, gas Not so great deals (i.e. not worth going out of your way for): DVDs, games, wine (but that's not their fault; I'm looking at you State of Washington), some prepared foods Even if I do not want to go on a weekend I suppose it is worth the extra expense I'd have to parlay by going to the regular grocery store. read more

This is the closest Costco for Greenlakers. It's hard to go wrong with Costco - especially if you live in a 2+ person household, it's worth it to buy bulk and store the extra in your garage! We also buy dog food here - less than $30 for a 40lb bag of reasonably good quality standard dry food. This store tends to get very busy on weekends (I think the SoDo store is a generally less crowded), but we have good luck going on weekday evenings around 7pm. The line for gas moves quickly, and fuel prices are generally the best around. read more

Usually, I'm thrilled when someone with a car is willing to drive me here, so I can stock up on toilet paper for the next thirty years (and the driver is usually equally thrilled about scarfing down a $1.50 hotdog). And I actually think it's a good thing they don't accept most credit cards, because with the Costco quantities and abundance, credit cards are a dangerous thing. Anyway, frugality aside, I would have probably given them four or five stars if they had the Kirkland Signature mega-box of organic oatmeal, which was the only reason I went there today. You won't coo me with cheap-o fillet mignon or a small barrel of adult chewy vitamins, Costco -- this is war. read more
