This is my go to pharmacy! They are great communicating with you via text that your prescriptions have been filled. They always have ample staff working the registers in the pharmacy so there's not a long wait time to pick up your prescriptions. And all the staff are both knowledgeable, and very personable, which is a much appreciated combination! Great people, and fair prices on medication's. read more

Came directly over here after having a doctor's appointment and was hoping to have my meds filled promptly so I could be on my way. I was pretty happy to see no line at the pharmacy and went directly to the "drop off" window. I informed the male pharmacist that my meds had been sent in electronically and I was going to be a cash patient. He does a little clicking and clacking on the keyboard and dryly lets me know that the meds would take a minimum of 35 minutes. Serious??? I walk around Costco hoping to kill some time and eventually make my way back to the pharmacy to see what the status was for the prescriptions. The guy we initially checked in with was short and just said the meds weren't done. I sat on a bench located at the registers and an elderly woman standing at the counter asked if I needed help. I told her my meds weren't done but she insisted on looking up my name. Low and behold, the meds were done but the male pharmacist was just too lazy to assist. RUDE MUCH?? The kind lady got me my meds but moved like molasses. Beggars can't be choosers but damn, nothing just went our way- my meds were short 10 tabs because they ran out of stock, the register ended up locking up while we were trying to pay, we were stuck standing around while the elderly woman tried to radio in for some help, & the entire process just took waaay longer than it should have. My entire family has been getting all of our prescriptions at Costco Pharmacy for over 21 years which includes my in-law parents. The pharmacists and techs are our neighbors and live in the area. Friendly, efficient and helpful for all of our medications needs. Our doctors send our prescriptions electronically to Costco pharmacy so there is no need to bring an order to them. They even apply for any known discounts or coupons for us. And they automatically text message you to refill orders. One of the major pluses of being a Costco member is the Pharmacy. read more

Member 20+ years. Have always had great experiences here, until was I was serviced on the phone today by someone with the name "Alalah" or something to that effect. When asking details about my Rx, she gave me the same answer for several different questions, and eventually just hung up on me quite suddenly. During the last six months, I have patronized this pharmacy location for diabetes supplies and to purchase a CGM device (for which I paid cash). As typical, I provided my commercial insurance card from my employer and to get a little discount for the CGM, I signed up for the Costco Medical Membership card, this is where the problem began. Yesterday, I called the pharmacy regarding the cost of my maintenance supplies, I am quoted $45 for a thirty (30) day supply; then when I arrive at store to purchase the item, the cost is four (4) times higher at $162.00!!! Quite surprised by the difference, I asked if the price quoted was via my health insurance; the clerk said "no". Then I replied, "Isn't it cheaper through my insurance plan?" She glared at me and said, "Let's go to the drop-off window and check your plan". We did and then she supposedly "confirmed" the lower price and asked me to go back to the pickup counter where she completed the transaction. Now, I am suspicious about the pricing I've received from previous transactions; I will no longer reward this type of deception and dishonesty! Shame on you Costco! read more

I am torn whether to give this place 2 stars or 3 stars, so I decided to do 2 stars mainly due to the service and incompetence. I have been here a handful of times. I feel like the staff is here is not very trained or they don't know what they're doing. If you're pretty straight forward, you have typical maintenance medications that you want filled on a commercial insurance then I am sure it is fine. For more complicated cases, I don't think they know what they're doing. I can actually say this because I have worked in retail pharmacies and I am familiar with the pharmacy practice and law. I had a prescription for something but I had difficulty with getting it filled. I had to explain to the technician several times what was going on and I felt like she didn't understand or have the experience. Based on my experience here, I get the impression this staff does not deal with people with Medicaid insurances and low income staff. They probably rarely handle TAR (part of Medicaid processes to get medications covered). I could tell by how they handled my most recent case with them. I also find them somewhat short tempered and not as patient as I would like especially since I was requesting something very simple of them. They just had trouble wrapping their mind about what I wanted. Like I said...if you just want to get your blood pressure/diabetes/hypertension medication filled and you're a big payor commercial insurance, I don't see any reason why you'll have a problem. The lines here can be long and it doesn't move as fast as I would like. I only come here because unfortunately, I pay out of pocket for several items and their cost is cheaper than other places. read more

Veterinarian suggested I p/u pet med at Costco, saying I don't need a membership for that. So, I go to the Danville warehouse. Two people in line ahead of me. The wait was so very, very long. According to the receipt, it was Evita who finally waited on me. Apparently she was having a mental breakdown- or maybe that's her regular personality. She barked at me to give her my Costco card. I did so, but mentioned that I didn't think I needed one. "You don't," she yelled as she scanned it. It all took a very long time for a single medication that was ready for pickup. The cost was higher than what I was quoted on the phone when ordering. Why? That question really set off Evita. Yikes! She took a fit, telling me that animal rx are taxed. That's fine but why wasn't I told that when I had initially asked how much it cost? I don't know but I knew better than to ask this volatile woman. Then she refused to actually give me the medication. She screamed, "I'M NOT GOING TO RELEASE IT TO YOU!!!" Big emphasis on "you." She handed the bag to a man who handed it to me. Crazy. My pet will need this rx refilled monthly for the rest of his life. I don't know why Costco thinks it's okay to treat a customer like this. Many options for purchasing this prescription elsewhere and apparently Costco wants customers to go elsewhere. Update 10/3/22 - worst than I thought!! Found out today that on the above visit, I had been charged about double the cost that I should have paid. Not talking about the tax, but about 50% more. I hadn't been quoted the correct price on the phone nor on the visit. read more

This pharmacy gets 4 stars for price and speed! They easily took my insurance and my scrip was ready for pick up within the hour my doctor called it in! They lost a star, because the employee was not very friendly. Didn't need a consult, so can't comment on the pharmicist in this capacity. Big star getters for me from a pharmacy includes: Filling an Rx properly Having it ready quickly...when you don't feel well, you don't want to be waiting around anywhere, especially somewhere loud and crowded. Needed a prescription filled but they only had 9 pills to give me. They charged me $28 for 9 pills. A monthly supply is $90 for 60 pills. I paid twice as much for 9 pills. They wouldn't allow me to buy a months worth. They said I had to come back when they had more supply. Terrible! read more

I told my doctor I always had a lot of trouble with pharmacies messing up orders, or causing delays for no reason, so my doctors' office recommended Costco which ended up being a mistake. I got a call right after my doctor placed the order from Costco asking me for my insurance information which I provided. The phone agent told me she ran the insurance and I would have zero co-pay and it would be ready in two hours. I could not pick it up for a few days so I was hoping it would be ready to go. When I got to the counter they said 'sorry we don't have anything for you' and I mentioned that via the phone they told me it was ready, she said costco does not call, I mentioned that costco called to get my insurance and then told me it would be ready. She did not reply to the information I shared she just said 'go over to the other window'. I went over to the other window and she looked up my info and told me insurance declined the medication. When I got home I looked at my insurance and there is no request or decline so now I need to start the process again with my doctor. I will go back to the other poor services I am using, Costco is not a better option. I can't say the people who work there are very friendly either. read more

I have used this pharmacy numerous times in the past year and service has been quite inconsistent. Long story short they often don't have enough to fill full prescriptions requiring them to order medications, taking at least one week to receive. If you consistently need your prescriptions and refills in a reasonable amount of time go elsewhere. read more

Had a copay waiver coupon for my Rx. When I tried to pick up my Rx, the Pharmacist denied to accept my Rx because that coupon was not honored for any federal funded or aided medical programs like medicare, medicaid, etc. My insurance was Blue Shield/federal employee program. WTF. I explained that my insurance is NOT medicaid nor medicare, etc. It is just called Federal employee program and I pay full insurance premiums every pay check. Later the pharmacist blamed that one of their technician entered the wrong insurance name. She ran the correct insurance name and said whole bunch of reasons that they can not accept the coupon. Long story short. She was supposed to say " we don't accept any coupon" at very first then I wouldnt have wasted my time there. read more

I love Costco Pharmacy! It's close and convenient, AND you don't have to be a Costco club member to get your precriptions filled there. It's better have your doctor call in your prescription and pick it up when ready. Otherwise, you will have to wait. If you are a people watcher then that can be an interesting exercise, otherwise, not so much. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are great. When there was a mistake with my prescription, they were on the phone immediately trying to contact the Dr. Then they had the scrip ready within 30 minutes, which allowed me time to get some shopping done. And the women at the pick-up counter were just as friendly. And the prices are way cheaper than I've found at other places. I would fill other scrips here. read more

Purchased a prescription not covered by my insurance. 10 pills for $300. When I got to my car, I realized they had only given me 9. I went back to the counter, to let them know about the discrepancy. The manager insinuated I was lying, that all prescriptions are counted and weighed (off sight!), and that she would research and call me with an update. Guess what? No call. I guess Costco doesn't realize that there are are other pharmacies out there that can fill prescriptions?! Done with Costco. read more

I stopped into this pharmacy on Weds before noon for a flu shot. I had to wait over half an hour even though there was only 1-2 people ahead of me. I had probably had over 20 flu shots in my lifetime and this one was the most painful. I think too large a needle was used. It is still sore two days later. I will not be returning to this pharmacy for service of any kind. read more

The line was short & this very nice employee (Lisa) went the extra mile to resolve an insurance problem that saved me almost $25.00. The Costco pharmacy was simply amazing. they were quick as they could possibly be and they helped with every step.I think them so much for being pharmacists with a heart instead of medicine pushers. The pharm tec who rang me up even took her time to tell me the difference between just paying and how much i would save if i payed for a Costco card. They were so quick and they seemed like pharmacists with a heart instead of just pushing medications and getting you out as soon as possible.
