This Costco is ALWAYS packed and it's not my favorite. But I use their pharmacy and they're great- especially if you compare them to CVS or Walgreens! That was by far one of the worst experiences I've had in customer service in a long time. I dealt with three different women that I got passed down to, and every single one of them was rude, had zero patience, and didn't explain anything that I needed explained to me. I've been with Kaiser my entire life and never had to go to a pharmacy outside of Kaiser until my insurance changed this year. The lady was literally so demeaning writing down 7+7 like I was a child when all I needed answered was if they would automatically refill my prescription in the end. I am in real estate and customer service myself so I understand how important it is. You could tell that none of these people liked their job or had any patience for anyone that didn't talk pharmacy lingo. I will never be using this pharmacy again. read more

So many low reviews here, so I must chime in. When no other pharmacy (called at least 7) had the medication I needed, this place has consistently carried it. I have to get it weekly and they always have it. Not sure what personality conflicts people have had, but as someone who's gone there weekly for well over a year, they have never been rude to me - and please believe me when I say if someone had been rude to me, I'm lettin' the world know about it. read more

I'm thankful for Costco Pharmacy and really can only speak on behalf of getting my dog's flea meds from here. They are the most reasonable and most convenient place to get them. I've dropped off and either have waited for them while they fill my prescription or have shopped and my prescription was ready when I finished. I only wish they were able to receive a script from my vet via fax. They only accept the original paper script. Nonetheless it's still great because it's convenient especially when I am late filling them and need the meds filled right away. I appreciate this service. read more

I have been a patron at this Concord ca. Costco location for years. Just started using the pharmacy for my prescriptions. I find staff to be very rude, non-knowledgeable and I feel as though they just don't care as their whole staff seems to be un compassionate. I feel as though I'm being Stonewald with my medication I am not giving any helpful information and my prescription was never filled over two weeks past the date. The prescription was called in from my doctor. This was surprising as I inquired the staff seem to get more agitated and angry with me All I was trying to do was get my prescription filled. I felt as though, and do still feel as though they stonewall it is also a surprise as the whole store seems to be very friendly and helpful not the pharmacy, it is my strong recommendation to not use this pharmacy as the pharmacist is rude doesn't understand urgency in peoples prescriptions and him in his own words. He just does not care the whole staff seems to mimic the main pharmacist attitude. Please do not use this pharmacy as you may run out of medication and find yourself scrambling and searching for a new pharmacy. Got my first dose of covid vaccine and the guy named Feroz who administered it scheduled me to come back for the second dose in two weeks instead of three! Are you serious?? Man, were you paying any attention at all?? So I call to reschedule and one of the pharm techs is super rude and wont let me finish sentences. Her name is Lousinski or smth like that. She has no patience whatsoever! The lady pharmacist is nice though. But still 1 star for Feroz and Lousinski. read more

I KNOW COSTCO IS TOO RICH TO CARE, but it is worth a try lol This pharmacy sucks. As a yelper, I try not to rant and give objective reviews... but it really blows. I am afraid of coming to the pharmacy because ALTHOUGH I GET A BOMBARDMENT OF TEXTS saying that my prescription is filled.... when I get there... it is filled incorrectly. The people working in the front absolutely cannot care any less about you and do not care in general. MAKE SURE YOU ASK IF YOU CAN GET THE PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT AT COSTCO BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO LAZY TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT. This is almost NEVER due to the people who called in the prescription (my doctor or vet) but the people who mis-read the prescription and filled it incorrectly. They do not feel bad for us at all and go "just 30 minutes." No apology or anything. Excuse me? I have places to be and this was YOUR MISTAKE. I have been a Costco Member for many decades. Today was the first day I patronized the Pharmacy at the Antioch, CA Costco. I received great service from Alex (via a Phone call). As a first time caller, I had no clue how the Pharmacy service works. Alex, patiently and professionally provided answers to my many questions. He also spent the time to listen to their voice mails in search of the message my doctor left with my new Prescription. I originally told him that my doctor said he spoke to one of the Pharmacy staff which was not the case. Because of the high quality service he provided me today, he definitely should be recognized by upper Costco Management. I could not find a way on the Costco web site or system to leave a review or feedback; therefore, I am using Yelp. Hope this helps my fellow Costco Members. Thank you Alex, Ed Woo read more

Not sure how I can give a lower rating then this . This pharmacy which is run by Sabrina and Steve could use a lot of improvement as far as the people skills category . This is not the first time I have been treated rudely here . Between Sabrina telling me she is going to call my dr to change my medication loudly in front of other customers . To Steve arguing with me and yelling at me and pointing his finger in my face through the glass when I asked him about his tone and demeanor toward me . These 2 people should be working in a place where there is no customer interaction. I love Costco as a store and am trying to not hold it against them but I have talked to the store manager about this and it seems to continue . This pharmacy is sooo much better than CVS and Walgreens. Good customer service, good prices for out of pockets pay for prescription meds and their employees are accommodating and actually make an effort to help if you run into difficulties. I pay $9.00 for a prescription that CVS charges $56.00 to fill. Just one small example. read more

After receiving a one time prescription from the Doc, I looked up the drug cost on Costco... $40 bucks for the GENERIC- Great! Since I have a membership, I thought I'd drop it off at the counter and then go off to shop for the next 30 minutes. Return to the pharmacy to stand in line. When called up the register, I'm told it isn't ready. I said, 'no problem, I'll just stand right here 'til it's ready.' The pharmacist then calls me over to let me know that since I have 'Medicare Part D (drug insurance), the cost of the script will be $128.' What?? When did I ever mention Medicare or insurance? I showed her the snap shot of the drug cost of $40 for ' Costco members' on Costco.com and then asked what does Medicare Part D have to do with this? I'm paying for this, not Medicare Part D insurance, and Costco clearly advertises on Costco.com the cost of this drug as $40 for Costco members. I have Medicare Part D (drug insurance) only because Medicare REQUIRES that you have it or you will be monetarily PENALIZED every month and every year that you don't sign up for Part D insurance even if you DON'T USE IT! I also have a Costco membership and was not aware that Costco PENALIZES individuals who happen to qualify for Medicare for being 65+ by charging 3 times the cost for a prescription. Just reviewed my Costco expenditures from August 1, 2020 (pandemic time) through August 9, 2021. $251 per month for a single person buying mostly dumb stuff. My $60 per year membership coincidentally expires at the end of August. I won't be renewing it. read more

WORST WORST customer service in the pharmacy department. I'm sitting here listening to the woman pharmacist talking down to a young lady. Wish I could post the video, on here. It's so embarrassing. Another guy trying to get a refill and they're out of meds. The staff make you feel like you're inconveniencing them when submitting or picking up a prescription filled. 3 attempts to get dog meds filled and 3 times I got an attitude - - this is just for meds for my dog! Always have trouble picking up my perscription here. Either it's not in stock or they tell me it's too early to pick it up even tho it's been past 30 days since my last fill. I don't have this type of issue at the Costco in Antioch or any other pharmacy. It's also annoying when calling on the phone to check the status of a perscription. I always end up with someone on the phone that has a bitchy attitude. Lastly, most of workers treat you like ur a drug addict for simply picking up ur meds. When in reality, some folks need medication in order to function in the world. I don't recommend this place at all read more

I love the Costco Pharmacy. Flat out. I love the automated messages they send you for refills. Sometimes they send me the refill notice too early. Obviously, if you tell them to refill and don't come get it, they will restock. So I called them to ask them what to do - they told me to ignore the message, but to call when I am ready to have it refilled. Boom! Easy peasy. I have never had a problem getting through to the pharmacy by phone. They have been helpful and informative. In person, they are professional and cordial. I like that I can drop off a new prescription, go do my shopping, and then pick up my prescription on the way out. Prices appear to be lower. The only limitation is they don't have all "name brand" drugs, sometimes you have to switch out to a generic (again, much much less expensive). Thus far for my needs that has been fine. My only complaint is that I took so long to switch over to this pharmacy. They are great. read more

Very helpful and nice. I'm really surprised to read the negative reviews. In the past I've had to deal with CVS pharmacy, and Costco is way better. Even their online customer service is amazing. They go above and beyond. I once had a doctor send in the incorrect dosage, and Costco caught it and called me to confirm. My husband had to pick up meds because we all have covid. We have two young children at home and he has finals this coming week. It has been very stressful and exhausting. Sabrina was incredibly rude to my husband on the phone and boasted that she had at least 10 neighbors who would come pick up meds for her. We just moved here and don't know many people. The first thing my husband said to me was thank god my mental health is good. She could have really pushed someone over the edge with her words. I am shocked at this behavior. I did call and say some things I shouldn't have, for that I am sorry. I hope she will think before speaking to someone like that again. read more

I recommend this business because it has killer deals. Better than any other pharmacy. My issue is one of the pharmacists. She embarrassed me in front of a group of shoppers. It was an issue that was really none of her business, she is NOT a physician. She violated PII as far as i am concerned (I'm a nurse). I will start by saying that I LOVE most things Costco. BUT their pharmacy is a failure! The presumed savings are not worth the headache that comes along every time I have to have a prescription filled. I typically will make 2-4 trips to pick up the medication, just to be told that they don't "have it in stock", carry it, they never received it from the doctor (which has never been true), or "it's not ready". It should NOT take over a week to get a prescription filled. They even once forgot to mix the powder into a liquid! I would certainly call that a laps in professionalism for a Pharmacist. On 8/1 I went to the pharmacy to get a medication filled. I was waited on by the pharmacist who is a thin, obnoxious Asian woman. She felt it necessary to question my doctor's decision to increase the rate at which I'm taking my medication. Apparently this unqualified, doctor-wanna-be thinks she's smarter than my doctor. I was stunned. I took my script back and brought it to another pharmacy where the pharmacist was not suffering from a "God Complex". I had no problem getting it filled at the second pharmacy. Obviously, I will never go back to the Costco pharmacy ever again and I highly recommend that others take their business elsewhere. read more

You may or may not be aware there is a Pharmacy in Costco, it's tucked in the corner near the bathrooms. The one and only time I've used the Costco pharmacy is when there was the Townsend Berries recall. Everyone who purchased the berries got a feww Hep A shot (because the berries were contaminated). I walked in right as they were shutting for lunch, but the guy at the front checked me in anyway. This was nice as I wasted a few minutes going to the wrong window and I probably woudl have squeaked in anyway. After they took our information (and member number) we waited a bit for the pharmacist. After probably mot more than 15 min we were called to a back door and walked out with the shot a few minutes later. Overall it was convenient enough for what it was. Plus, I didn't have to wait an hour puttering around Costco. I'd rather wait before I shop than after in case I have perishables. Plus, to the other reviewer why not check about your change in drug level? Maybe the pharmacist was making sure the increase was on purpose and not your doctor making mistake that could potentially hurt you. Now, if they were especially condecending while doing it I can see being insulted, but it could be standard policy as a double check; Doctors make mistakes too. read more

All other staff was great. Very helpful. The pharmacist hung up on my dr. My dr wrote the perscription with the scientific name and the pharmacist was not familiar with name so she read off several names unitl it was the correct one and when my dr said yes the pharmasist hung up on her without hearing the dosage instructions called back and couldnt get back to the pharmacy. They called me i asked if she the pharmasist could speak to my dr and she said no. Not veey nice..everyone else was so nice and helpful. read more

Have tried to be a customer here but you make it very hard. Hours posted online are wrong in some places and are not in sync with the store so have not been able to pick up many times when attempting to do so. Was told today that items are automatically re-stocked if we don't call or pick up after a week. Then why don't you have an automated phone system allowing me to say when I'll pick up or if I need to arrange a different pickup date? Just because you're in Costco doesn't mean you should have warehouse customer service. And if you want to compete effectively with other pharmacies consider changing your hours so that they're more friendly. Offer Express Pickup? Delivery? read more

At Matt from Danville- The doctor wanna-be is named Melissa Wong. She did the very same thing to me last March (March 2013)- She even called my doctors (all 3 of them in the same office) and threatened to report them to the FDA for over-prescribing an NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug). She is out of her ever loving mind. She needs to have her license revoked and to be stripped of her Pharm D. She's going to get a patient killed sooner or later. Perhaps the only reason she's a Pharm D. and not an MD is because her MCAT score was too low to get into any medical school in the United States. I am entertaining the idea of consulting with a lawyer about this. Now that I know that I'm not the only one, I'd bet we could get a pool of plaintiffs. At MINIMUM, she needs to lose her license. Having said all that about the doctor wanna-be, I LOVE Costco's prices. They undercut even WalMart. Their retail prices on most medications are lower than the CO-PAYS for many health plans. As for the rest of the pharmacy staff, Roberto is very customer service oriented. The man is just great. He has a future in sales if he wants it. The manager (Mr. To? Can't remember his name) is as well and is very wise. Yolanda is good. The pharm tech with the color-gelled hair is also super with customer service. Ok, enough bellyaching. I would give them negative stars. I went to Costco on Tuesday to get a prescription filled. Even though every other pharmacy has it they had to order it. That is okay and they told me to come back Friday at 2 pm. I get there and after waiting 1/2 hour they told me that they "need to order it again". I figure that A. They never ordered it or B. Gave it to someone else. That is okay so I go to another pharmacy. The pharmacy can't bill my insurance because Costco already billed them and told my insurance that they gave me my medication. Now I need to get another script from my doctor and having taken my medication in about a week. I have the original script but that doesn't matter because Costco "gave my prescription" most likely to someone else. read more
