Phone encounter: I was trying to see if my prescription was still valid. Pam answered the call, whom also had the worst phone etiquette. I understand you must've answered the question I had a million times, but please do not cut me off while I am talking. I did not appreciate the way i was responded. I am a loyal customer to Costco and a future patient with the optical dept. Pam needs re-training how to answer calls. I also work in the medical field... so if patients may have questions, specially pertaining to how to save a couple of bucks for lenses, help the member out nicely is the least you can do, Pam! Thank you for answering my question though, and yes you did save me a trip, but in the future, have the decency to be corteous enough over the phone. The gal on Saturday who had was professional and me was super helpful and even went above and beyond to write down a rough estimate on how much i needed to pay out of pocket. Now that is the Costco customer service! But having an employee like Pam just ruins the outlook of the optical team. read more

I have purchased frames and lenses twice from Costco in Covington. Both broke. With one, the frame was completely intact, only the ends of the ear pieces were shredded. Both times I came and asked for help. BOTH times the only thing they would say to me "you need to buy new frames". Not "let's we if we can help you. Or have you thought about tips for the ear pieces". Only "time for new frames". This time I told them my new eye appt was in three days so I couldn't buy new frames now and then again in three days. Again, their only response was : yep, you guessed it "looks like you need some new lenses". Horrible customer service and my family and I will not be returning. How hard is it to show some compassion and attempt to problem solve? Shame on you Covington Costco optical department read more

Haley with Covington Costco Optical was amazing. I had picked out 2 pairs of regular eye glasses that I thought I really wanted and a pair of sunglasses that I wasn't so hot about. Haley had me try on all 3 pairs, asked me what I liked about them and then proceeded to pull other multiple other pairs as better suggestions for the style I was looking for and what looked better on my face. I have been wearing and buying glasses for 15 years and have never had someone provide such dedicated and helpful assistance. And it wasn't like she was trying to upsell me, she genuinely helped me. This was noon on a Saturday, busy as can be, she made time to help me then and quickly assisted other customers while i was making a decision, but was back by the time i was ready and i didn't have to wait to finish up. She was super knowledgeable, friendly, professional and was a stellar multitasker. I ended up buying 3 different pairs of glasses that looked way better and still ended up about the same cost. I've bought glasses at another Costco location before and at other eyeglass places, but I've never received such great service before. So this is more of a review for Haley than Covington Costco. But Covington Costco, if you're reading this, I'd give Haley 10 stars out of 5 and you should give her a freaking raise! It's not often you find such great service and employees, but when you do they should be recognized. Thank you for a great experience Haley. I can't wait to get my new glasses!!! read more

About 3 weeks ago I got new glasses from the Covington Costco Optical. I had my prescription from my regular place but just did not want to spend $400-500 on new glasses. So I tried Costco for the first time and I am happy so far. The cost for frames, progressive lens, scratch coating, and anti reflective lens came to $200. The selection of frames was much better than I had expected. I just got home from getting the fit adjusted and the service was great both times I visited. After wearing these glasses a few months I have downgraded my stars. It seems like the progressive lenses are not quite right. I need to tip my glasses downward to read the TV menu. read more

Huge Kudos to Katherine at Costco Optical Covington! I bought new glasses and lenses from Costco in Covington. Upon wearing them for a few days, they started leaving sores on the bridge of my nose. I went back numerous times to get them adjusted to no avail...After about a dozen different adjustments I had decided to return the glasses and start over. Today, I got Katherine. She was not only very knowledgeable, but also so kind, understanding and helpful and renewed my faith in Costco Optical Customer Service. She went above and beyond great customer service and I left with my same glasses, feeling much, much more comfortable. If you ever need help in the optical department, ask for Katherine. Don't bother with anyone else. Katherine definitely takes pride in her work and for her employer. read more

If you are a member, try Costco first before another optical. Save a lot of money. No nickel and diming here, just reasonable pricing. I got a quote from a Kent optical for $400 after insurance for just the lenses, got it for $100 at Covington Costco. Sweet deal! Ken also repaired my broken old glasses for free. I could not even get that other store to look at my broken glasses. Learned my lesson. read more

The only place I'll go to get my eyes checked! The girls at the front counter are friendly and helpful. The doctor I was supposed to see was running about 20 minutes late, so she was thoughtful enough to ask the other doctor who had an opening to take me so I wouldn't have to wait longer. Thank you. The doctor I saw was awesome! She is funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. Such a easy going person. Will definitely continue coming back to this location to get my eyes checked. read more

Wonderful and professional staff! Honestly, they are very accommodating! Costco opiticals are great in general but this location is a hidden gem. I'm glad to be able to confide in a new opitical after moving from a different state. I noticed another patient (John C) referenced this costco as a small optical facility and specifically referred to staff as if it were a typical optical lab.. this is not the case, I think he may be mistaken. Costco optical has been rated several years in a row as the number one optical outlet and it is by no means a small optical chain, however it does not feel like your typical large-scale organization like wal-mart or something else. I have been going to Costco for glasses for 15 years, and now I am an employee of Costco optical.. it feels even more reassuring to understand how important the quickness and quality of our customer's eyewear is to the business. Yes, things get busy at certain times of the year and it may be hard to return calls.. but we do the best we can to make sure everything is running smoothly. I don't think an entire company deserves a 1 star rating simply because a customer had a mishap one day out of several years of satisfied service. read more

I was satisfied with the service I received from Dr. Lee when I had my eye exam a couple of weeks ago however very disappointed with the customer service I just experienced with the receptionist when I went to pick up my rx for contacts at 4:30 this afternoon. There were two people working in the doctor's optical reception area, the woman at the front desk was too busy texting on her personal phone to help me. She was sending text messages and laughing about the response she would get from them. She was 100% unprofessional and is definitely a very negative strike against this clinic. I work in the area of customer service and if she had been one of my employees she would have been shown the back door immediately. read more

I've been going here for 4 yrs and usually had good experience with my contacts. But last year when i got my glasses they were horrible. Doctor says teh perscription ont he glasses is right and they double checked my eyes which hadn't changed. But the glasses make everything bow toward me and make straight lines bend when i turn my head side to side. Was told to wear them regularly for a while. 6 months later I'm tripping, falling, getting dizzy and nausous when I wear them. The Doctors still can't resolve the issue and I have had 3 friends and family recieve bad glasses from various Costco in Washingotn. Is this a pattern? Not sure what is wrong with them but finding another Doctor and hopefully get a better result. read more

Great experince. as someone who hasn't optical insurance, i had been suffering with my old and expired perscription glasses for far too long as i was under the impression that it would cost me far too much to get an eye exam or new glasses. wrong! for just over $60 for an exam, and super affordable frame options, i'm looking sharp in my new glasses and able to see much better at work and in my day to day life. my boyfriend, who needed new contacts, had a similarly wonderful experiance and even picked up a pair of very handsome glasses. Dr.Lee was wonderful and friendly, and Chris helped us pick the perfect frames for our life style- needless to say, we are now happy and repeate customers who will share our experiance with everyone! thank you! read more

Sadly a guy named ken there is very rude and has no customer service skills. I asked for help and he acted as if I was interrupting his entire day and felt very unwelcoming. I hope he gets some customer service training. I had to seek a separate associate for help. I didn't catch her name but she was awesome, super friendly and very welcoming. The complete opposite of ken. The rest of the team there is awesome as well with the exception of ken. I've visited this location frequently throughout the years which is why I was sad to have a bad experience. read more

I wanted to let everyone know that my experience with working with costco optical has not been a good experience. I have worked with federal way before and they have been great! I expected the same with covington. I had problems getting a correct fit on my glasses, and they seemed extremely irritated with me. I have ordered contact lenses twice now, and they told me to call the Dr. and have the order faxed to them, which I did, and they didn't call back. Come to find out, you have to call them back, as they don't place the order until they get your am ex card. Would have been nice if they would have told me that when they had me call the Dr. This happened twice. I forgot their procedure the 1st time and waited 2 weeks and called back and the same thing. I guess it's something that you have to figure out by yourself. They need better management!!!! read more

Dr. Lee at Costco Optical is very detailed and professional. My monovision contacts weren't working well, so she presented me with various options, and then prescribed a different lens for my left eye. It works perfectly! Because the optometrist isn't affiliated with the opticians, there's no up-selling or pressure to buy. Thorough exam, personable optometrist, and great results. read more

I went to see Dr. Dennis Lee for my eye exam as I needed a new pair of glasses. Luckily, for me, he detected a narrow angle in my eyes that could lead to blurry vision and glaucoma. There is a simple procedure that prevents that from happening and after Dr. Lee referred me to an ophthalmic surgeon I had the procedures. I am so glad that he discovered my problem and referred me before I had major problems.. Many people think that getting their annual eye exam is only to get new glasses. Eye doctors can find a host of issues when looking in your eyes. Thanks Dr. Lee for your professionalism. You may have saved my eyesight. I'm so appreciative...and I'll be back next year for sure..no skipping years any more for me. read more

My husband and I were in the Covington office for our eye exams right before Christmas. Their office was slammed with patients, the phones were ringing nonstop, and the two receptionists were very busy, but they were also very polite and had a smile on both of their faces. I think that John was mistaken when he came into that office. One of the gals took an elderly woman out to help her pick our frames, and she did not have to, but she did, and you should have seen the smile on the elderly ladies face as she was doing so. That John is good customer service!!! The doctors there are wonderful and always make my family feel like their family, and we like that. I will not go a large doctors office again. Thank you to Dr. Lee and his wonderful staff for always making us feel welcome. read more

The opticians there are simply amazing. They are personable and were willing to work with me and my problem after I left the doctors office. I did not have good luck with the doctors in that location. I will not being going back there for my exams, but will continue to go back for the friendly service of the optical staff. read more
