I have been going to this Pearle Vision for approximately 10 years. I have purchased several pairs of glasses over the years. Some fit better than others. A couple pair needed adjustment more than once or twice. Recently, the nose bridge broke on my $400+ dollar pair of progressive glasses. I took them into the South Hill Mall Pearle Vision (Puyallup) to see about getting them repaired. The lady who helped me said "those can't be fixed". I tried explaining that there was a screw holding the bridge on and all I needed was a new nose bridge or to be told what kind of glue would work best to glue the old bridge back together (super glue was my next step if all else failed). I eventually gave up. At home I logged into Amazon and ordered a replacement nose bridge for $8.95 and it was delivered the next day. I installed it by removing the screw and replacing the broken bridge with a new one. I will NOT be going back to Pearle Vision again. read more

Tl;dr: i waited two months for my contacts and still didnt get them. Had to get a refund bc walmart was faster This is for Pearle Vision. Dr. Shergill was nice and answered all of my questions. I ordered my contacts ~400.00 on 10/30 and was told two weeks. I called two weeks later not ready bc i have special lenses so it takes extra time. Understandable. Thought i would wait for a call. 2 weeks after the first call i called again still no contacts. Turns out there was no record of my order! So she placed the order again and said it would be express shipping. I didnt have a lot of faith at this point so i thought i would wait for the call. Another month goes by and nothing so i ordered from walmart and got a refund from this place. read more

I had an amazing experience with Shergill Optometry and Pearl Vision today when I went in for an eye exam for contacts and glasses. The receptionist and the girl who did my initial tests were so friendly and helpful. Doctor Shergill was knowledgeable and quick, she gave me answers to my many questions, made sure I had the correct lenses for my unique issues and made the whole process quick and easy. Not one but two girls gave their feedbacks when I was picking out frames and they helped me find the best suited pair, suggesting a smaller size on the frame I picked and calling around for me on color choices. I'm happy I chose them for my eye exam. I don't write many reviews but they were outstanding. read more

This was one of the worst experiences for glasses I have had. I called to make an appointment and they were out three weeks which is fine and normal. I went to my appointment on May 22 and the staff there was unfriendly and did not seem to know what they were doing. And I had to get my eyes checked, obviously, and then picked out glasses and we finished the paperwork. I waited two weeks for my glasses to come in, again normal, but as soon as I put the glasses on, I realized something was wrong and they recommended I wear them for a week to try to get used to them. They were very very incorrect and I felt very dizzy and cannot continue to wear the glasses, so I came back the next day and told them that there was an issue which I then again had to go in and see the doctor to see if the prescription was right it wasn't so she "fixed it." I had to wait another two weeks for glasses to get in and again the prescription was wrong. The staff acted like I didn't know what I was talking about, when I said that I cannot see with these glasses and they are making me dizzy and nauseous. They made me feel very stupid and they seem very annoyed that I was there having to get the issue fixed, that the doctor in their company got wrong. So they told me to keep the glasses again for another few days which I told them I was moving to a different state on July 1. So today I went back and said I'm sorry these are not working and the lady goes, "well what do you want us to do?" I said "I guess I would like a refund" and the Lady said hold on, somebody else will help you. The next lady said oh well you'll need your receipt because we don't have it. I asked, You don't have my receipt? she wanted me to go home and get my receipt. I thought that was a little absurd considering I've worked in retail and know that in cases like this, especially doctors offices they have receipts in the system. I told her I did not want to drive home and grab my receipt. Also, I don't even know if I have my receipt available right now, because again, I'm in the middle of moving to a different state from Washington to Hawaii to be exact. She was very rude. The doctor didn't know what they were doing. I highly do not recommend this place. Awful customer service, awful communication and the eye doctor doesn't really know what she's doing. I forgot to mention, that I did not get a single phone call from them that my prescription was in either times, I had to call, so If you want to save yourself, a lot of trouble and time go somewhere else. read more

I am not sure what happened with the glasses that I ordered, but honesty I think a kid put them together. Well let's start with this.. first day I pick them up my husband noticed that one of the lenses was about to pop out, the ear piece was about to come off, they had few scratches and they were very shaky.. it almost sounded like they were toy glasses.. not worth it for paying $344. I would think that they will have more pride for their work and to at least make them look better than walmart, especially after paying almost $400 for them. I am sure If you would had seen them, honestly You would had thought I got them from a dollar store. Second.. .. their customer service is horrible.. why did the lady give me an attitude for returning a merchandise? Listen, it's not my fault that your company is selling and putting together garbage glasses and having no pride whatsoever ...So honestly.. I will never ever ever do business with them... especially getting treated like doo doo for returning a merchandise that looked like garbage .... it's not my fault. Idk how these 5 star reviews come about.. they must have their own people that they treat better than others. The office staff and Dr. are amazing! I walked in without an appointment as they were full, however, the Dr.managed to squeeze me in to be seen 2hrs later, totally understandable as I didn't have an appointment. The rest of the office staff were going around checking to see who needed help. They are friendly and polite! The Dr.has a really soft sweet and calmness about her and how she is with her patients. I can't tell you how much this doctor saved me after a surgery. A month out from a very invasive eye surgery, They allowed me an emergency visit to come in to have my eyes checked after significant vision loss. I have eye insurance through my work and they are in network. As she is checking my eyes, we discover I cannot read ANY of the letters. We went through the entire exam including taking pictures through my eye. I couldn't see anything. She then tells me that we need to check my cornea because something is not right and sure enough I have significant scratches on my cornea and need to be on antibiotics for 14 days. Not only did she write me a prescription for the antibiotics, but she also did not charge me for this appointment and told me to come back in and we would redo the entire thing when my eye was ready. To say I had amazing an efficient, friendly, amazing empathetic customer service, and generous appointment is an understatement. This doctor helped me save my vision from infection. And then went above and beyond to support me. Five stars! read more

I will start by saying I have been going to this location for over 15 years! NOT for Pearle Vision, but for Dr. Shergill~~~ The eye doctor in the attached office space. THere is not enough room to right all the fantastic things about Dr. Shergill and her amazing staff. HOWEVER - this is for Pearle Vision. I tried using them a couple times; first time had major issue with pricing and quality. DO not get your lenses coated, made "scratch resistant" or whatever because their quality is garbage. My lenses scratched with the cleaning cloth provided in the eyeglass case!! They do not call you when your glasses are ready for pick up. Period. The last straw was the time I got in a few minutes for my Doctor appointment and I got to listen to the Pearle Vision staff talk loudly and rudely about one of their customers.. After 10 minutes of this, I walked over and said "I"m sitting right there and can hear you, can you make an attempt to be more professional?". This got a reaction of them just talking louder and making more horrible comments. Go see Dr. Shergill, she is fantastic! Then take your prescription over to Costco for some awesome glasses; they have top brands, Oakley, Kate Spade, ECT for about $100 a pair, and that was including the transition lenses!!! read more

The Pearle Vision in the south hill mall is terrific! I have suffered with severe astigmatism all my life. And for the last 8-10 years it has steadily gotten worse. Unfortunately no one had been able to address this issue well enough so I can see clearly. It always seemed is if my prescription was just slightly off. I can tell you there is nothing more frustrating especially when you have a love of reading to not be able to focus. Or something just seems a bit off. But Dr. Shergill at Pearle Vision was able to do just that! Give me back my vision so I could see CLEARLY for the first time in so long I can't even tell you! She really knows her stuff. Plus the staff treats you like family. Takes the time to sit down and work with me on style and fit for my glasses which isn't easy since I have a very narrow face. Never been rushed out of here, and they have always been friendly. Will definitely be back again. read more

Took my 5yr old here a year ago. They had availability quickly, and my impatience got the best of me and that's how we ended up here. The optometrist rushed us through the exam, in total it was probably 15-20min. He said she was farsighted and gave us a prescription. No one else, myself included, in my immediate family has glasses, so I filled the prescription without hesitation as I didn't realize it was virtually useless. They offered me free frames as long as I bought the lenses, ok sure, don't want my kid to go without glasses if she needs them, like they made me believe she did. I questioned the prescription in the back of my mind and she didn't seem affected by not wearing them. Fast forward a year, I take her to my eye dr and learn the amount of farsightedness she has is barely a reading glass prescription, and at her age most kids ARE farsighted because their eyes and lenses are still growing. The Dr actually recommended no prescription. read more

The only reason I got a pair of glasses here is because of the Groupon deal that was going on. Despite the "deal," I still regret not going to Costco. I got the anti-reflective coating on my lenses and they started to come off within a couple months of normal use and cleaning. Yes, I use my shirt to clean off my glasses, but that alone shouldn't remove the coating. I asked if there was anything they could do, but my warranty had expired before the issue even came up. I am unhappy with the quality of their lenses and with the employees' smug, condescending comments on not wiping glasses with your shirt. Never again. UPDATE: After getting a courtesy replacement (which was nice), 8 months later, my lenses are doing the same thing. I've been especially careful with these pair, and they're not as bad as before, but still obscure my vision due to the locations of the chipping. I went to see what they could do about it, and said the last time was a one time thing. They didn't really care about my dissatisfaction and just tried to up-sell me an exam and a new pair since my prescription is expired after two years. Ridiculous. I've been wearing glasses for 23 years, and the customer service and quality of lenses at Pearle Vision is by far the worst I've experienced. read more

Bring a book you'll be waiting a while. I had an appointment at 4:30 p.m. I was not seen until after 5:30 p.m. I was very irritated and hungry. I contemplated leaving more than once but needed to get this prescription for work. My intent was to get a new pair of glasses but decided not to with ask the waiting and frustration. As an adult my time is very valuable, it is frustrating to have it wasted. The appointment went well once it happened but I don't plan on returning with how long I had to wait. read more

Today, we had a 3 PM appointment at Lenscraftersin Puyallup, WA. My husband needs to be seen. He is a new patient. When I called to make the appointment I told the woman on the phone we had VSP. She took my info down and the last 4 digits of my social and said she was taking care of the rest. Once we arrived, completed our new patient paperwork and was pulled into an exam room is when another woman informed us we were out if network. We were then informed that your sister store, Pearle Vision, was in network. I asked why nothing was said to us when we made the appointment. She responded back with, we take the insurance. It is just considered out of network. So, we went to Pearle Vision. Upon our arrival, they had an opening and we filled out the new patient paperwork again. She went to verify our insurance and Lenscrafters had already done a pre-authorization on VSP and until they released it, they could not see us. She advised us to call Lenscrafters and have the release it so it could be verified. I called Lenscrafters and spoke to Cara and I think she said her name was Olivia. Olivia said they aren't able to do release because they don't accept VSP. She said to have Pearle Vision call and do it. I went back to the woman in the brown leather jacket and told her what they said. She then laughed and said "They are passing the buck again." I am very much upsey. This is absurd. Not impressed at all. My daughter had an exam in May and was prescribed glasses to be used during school only. Well school ended a few weeks later and the glasses were not used very much throughout the summer. Returning to school my daughters eyesight had worsened to the point her glasses were useless. We returned to get another exam, they agreed that her vision had changed but wanted to charge us another $99 for the lens. They are only interested in your money, and could care less if your eye site changes and you need new lenses, its all the better for them. I will not be going back . read more

I selected this place out of 3 choices that my work insurance offers. I'm really sorry I did. The optometrists was fine, I had no problem with her. She was brief but professional. The lady that rung my $285 was friendly but not going out of her way to make sure I had the right glasses. She's just smiles and said yeah those look great. Spent like 10 minutes on the calculator figuring out my total. I wanted the BOGO deal but one pair of progressive glasses was just shy of $300 I couldn't afford another almost $200 for my sunglasses. When I paid for them and left I already felt kinda robbed. I went back a week later to pick them up and she said they fit- didn't do any adjustments or anything. Now I have to go back in as the bridge of my nose is red and sore. I'm wearing my old glasses till I get in as I work nights. I spent less at other places like Americas best without insurance which is pretty decent actually. Just be weary and shop around. Pearle vision might be right for you but maybe not- not for me. If I'm going to spend $$$ I want top notch customer service. read more
