These people NEVER answer their phone. I called differnt time of day; different days. They seem to just refuse to answer their phone. You literally need to go there to find out anything (and most time its a happy surpirse cause your glasses are in. AND you could have have picked them up 2 days agao... The optical department at costco is cost effective and set up well. Its the people that work there whom hate their jobs and screws up everything. I've had a bad Costco Optical experience before, in Los Feliz, so I wasn't expecting much here. However, Dr. Tang was thorough, knowledgeable, communicative, and kind to me during my exam. He gave me great advice and adjusted my prescription back a quarter (a different optometrist over prescribed me). I would be back next year to see Dr. Tang. Also, they have cute Gucci frames out front for around $180. read more

$525 $345 $463 $529 $596 What do these numbers have in common? These are quotes I got for eye glasses from Kaiser optical, Warby Parker, and Lens crafters. My final choice was $189.98 for titanium frame and lenses at Costco. Same script (for progressive lenses at all 3 places..) If you need glasses I suggest you go for several estimates before you make a choice. Also ask what the wait time will be, with Costco my wait was less than 7 days. I hear they have a discount for children's glasses. The people in the optical department have always been kind to me, helping with frame adjustments, even when it's not their frame. All good. PS. I did go to Old Focals and Jinns. Old Focals price was in the middle and Jinns would not let me in without an appointment and the fist appointment was 2 weeks away, even tho the store was empty.. read more

I set an appointment for an eye exam. They never told me they don't work with my insurance eye med. When I get there they charge me $135 for the exam and the front desk said "no worries we deal with this all the time they will reimburse you". My insurance only pays back $35. They need to not mislead customers. read more

this rating is specifically for the white chick with dark hair who was working behind the counter in the eyeglasses pick up area on the evening of 9/19/24. I got an eye exam and dropped off my frames to get lenses put in on sept 9 and have dealt with you three times in the ten days. You are one of the rudest people who has ever had a good job working with the public at a retail establishment. Are you related to the hiring manager? How did you get this job? The Asian woman and the guy that were there are efficient, kind, knowledgable and i was so grateful they were there tonight. After the awful exchange with you where I picked up my glasses, I left to get my RX out of the car to buy contacts and when I came back and got another number I was SO HAPPY the guy called it and not you. You went out of your way to be rude to me every time I have dealt with you. i say dealt because you are so miserable a person that talking to you is hard to deal with. I don't know why you feel it is necessary to be so rude but you are casting a shadow over this entire establishment. I have had so many jobs in retail and I know that it is actually required to show minimal courtesy and it's not that hard to be fake polite to someone who is just like "hi! im here to pick up glasses." the first time I thought hey she's having a bad day. Second time I thought ok you're always in a terrible mood. Third time I'm taking it as my personal duty to give you a performance review. you are getting paid by customers like me, you YOU should pay ME to talk to you EVER because you are so unpleasant and soul sucking. I really want to like this place... because it's Costco, and everyone loves Costco. But omg. The wait is ridiculous. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or what. The only time I'm able to get anything done is if I come right when they open in the morning, and even so, sometimes it's a 20-30 minute wait. Forget about it if you come after 11am or so. The wait is often well over an hour. I have comes waited for over half an hour and left. It's almost impossible to schedule. Once they actually get to you, they are great. read more

Liz was so helpful and wanted for me to be happy with the comfort & style of my glasses. Liz went over & beyond, I say that not to be nice. Liz was so sweet, encouraging and very so very patient. You need to understand something about me, it's very hard for me to make a solid decision. It's tuff for me, so Liz being so very patient with me made things very pleasant. I can recommend Costco Optical of Alhambra very highly, not just for selling quality glasses at half of what I twice paid another big retailer the past two years, but for the skill and patience of the sales associate Eric. He was calm and steady, in the midst of the crowd in Costco, getting my chosen frames ready for my orders. I observed that Eric made an effort to deliver for Costco because when I picked up the glasses from another associate a week later, all she did was wishing me a nice day and did not check how well the glasses worked for me. I tried them for two weeks and could not read my cell phone. I returned to Eric. He diagnosed the problem as the tilt of my lens on my face, not the prescription. After his patient adjustments, my glasses worked perfectly. Eric is a real asset to Costco! I cannot be more pleased! read more

I love Costco but their optical department doesn't answer their phones. I travel and can't always walk into the store, so I needed to ask a question on contacts. I called a few times and the automated system had me choose my destination, the optical department. Once the phone rang there about a dozen times, it disconnected me. It automatically routed me to the beginning of the automated system again. This happened 4 times when I finally hung up. It's such poor customer service when one is wanting to give them business. read more

Worst experience! I went to Costco Optical Vision Center at Alhambra location on June 22, 2023, to purchase prescription lenses for eye glasses and had a terrible and horrible experience. The check-in was chaotic. One lady checked me, spoke Cantonese to me automatically which I did not understand. I had to switch to another employee for the service. I brought two frames of my own: one is an old frame with my original prescription lens on and the other is new. I placed the order with credit card payment. I was told that the old frame might be rejected, so I asked the lady that if the old glass frame is rejected, will I get the original lenses back. She said she would put the lenses inside the bag so that they will put the original prescription lens back to the old frame. A few days later, I received a phone call from Costco saying both frames were rejected. The next day, I picked up the frames and got a full refund. However, the prescription lenses were missing. The next day, I went to Costco and talked to the manager Eric, who was rude and unhelpful. He did not apologize in the beginning, and he couldn't explain to me what had happened. He just told me some options that I can choose and obviously he could not give my lenses back. I was not satisfied with the options. Another employee told me that normally they would throw the old lenses away. I was so upset and angry. This was not acceptable at all. Now I do not have my prescription lenses. Without my glasses, it is very inconvenient for me and I cannot do anything. Although the manager offered a compensate of the original price of the lenses, the inconvenience that they brought me was unforgivable. They were so unprofessional! The management was terrible! The way they treat their customers was terrible! They showed no sympathy nor apology when they made mistakes and caused the problems. The service was terrible. Overall, that Optical Department was a dump! I would never go there anymore! read more

We do our shopping here and saw the optical center and decided to also get our glasses and concat lenses here. Yes Indeed had a bad service but I see they change some workers and so far Patrick and Alex are really courteous. they improved their service changing the workers it's fast they call us when they are our glasses are ready and even before the 7 days they say . Terrible service, terrible attitude! I had bought some readers at Costco and needed to have them repaired. When I arrived there were 2 employees with 2 customers. I showed my readers to the young lady and asked if she could fix them, she asked me: "Did you buy them at Costco?" I said yes so she told me to take a ticket. I got #19, they were in 14. 20 minutes later, the young man left and the young lady stayed y herself. 35 minutes later, she finally got to my number, when she saw my glasses she told me that it would rake a long time to repair and that there were other people waiting, that I should come back the next day. I explained to her that I had been patiently waiting for 55 minutes and that it was not fair. She then asked me when I had bought them, I told her about 2 months ago. She looked in the computer and told me that I had not bought them with them. I told her she had never asked if I had bought the glasses with them, just if I had bought them at Costco. She then said:"Oh, these are the readers they sell inside the store, they are cheap, just buy another set, they are not that expensive". I told her that I knew how much they were but I wanted this to be fixed, could she fix them. She said she could but it would take 20minutes and she needed to take care of the customers who had bought glasses from them. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! read more
