I love This Costco and have been shopping there since they opened. I get my tires there. I get my gas there. And my children grew up on their food. The staff is friendly and clearly works hard. This review is specifically to comment on the new self checkout which is the worst implementation of self checkout that I have ever experienced. 1) There is no scanning gun. You have to remove every item and place it on the side platform. So the lady worker that was watching the area told me when I got to the self checkout station that she was going to scan the "heavy" items after I scanned everything else. That kind of defeats the purpose of self checkout since most items at Costco are large and heavy. Meanwhile with no scanning gun I had to place each "non heavy" item into the table top scanner. 2) You have to scan each item one by one and then place each individual item on the side platform before you are allowed to scan another item. No holding one item in your left hand and one in your right, scanning each one after the other then placing them on the side platform. That doubles the necessary scanning time. 3) Once done and paid I started placing my items back into the cart. Some were fragile like bread and eggs and some were not like canned goods. When shopping you carefully arrange your cart so that the fragile items don't get crushed. So after scanning and paying you have to do this all over again. This takes a minute or two since everything "non heavy" had to be placed on the side platform and not back in the cart. So about 30 seconds int placing items back in the cart the register starts insisting that I place all my items into the cart, then repeats the insistence about every 15 seconds. Ever want to tell a machine to shut it? Note that if you go through the regular register they have a scanning gun, they can scan two fisted, and they can scan items while leaving them in the cart. The ONLY reason anyone should or would want to use self checkout at this Costco is if you have only very few items and there are no available registers. Next time I'll just wait in line and read my email. Way more relaxing. read more

$1.89 for gas!! Crazy low prices. The wait is long! That's what you get for not being able to pump your own gas Jersey....AMEX or Debit only. No Cash. The gas station finally gave it a third star. Costco...oh Costco. I love my Costco's but I have found that Costcos on the East coast do not compare to the ones on the West Coast. I am used to excellent products/produce to include a plentiful of organic items and unfortunately, the East cost in general isn't caught up yet. That is for the 3 star rating. The service there is a 4 star. I would love to see more types of beef/turkey jerky, organic galloons of milk, organic APPLES and bananas. I really think the East coast is lacking an abundance of organic apples, especially if there are so many apple farms here. Paying $4 a point is outrageous! I would love to see organic honey crisp apples and organic salami and an assortment of Olive items. No organic rotisserie chicken either. When that get's better, then we would consider an exec membership again, but we had to downgrade to standard membership. (I don't think gas goes towards the exec account either, since they didn't need it when we pulled up.) Great furniture (seasonal in summer mostly) for more options of couches and coffee/dining tables. The food stand - always delicious. Hot dogs and pizzas are a must. I prefer the plain ol cheese. All the relish and onions you want for your hot dogs! Samples on Saturdays are plentiful! I know your trying costco, but hoping you'll get up to speed to the other costcos! read more

So a lot of bad comments for the Costco cashiers. The management team should really look into it to reform the cashier's team. Living and shopping at Costco in new York is terrible compared to this south Jersey location. This place was very clean, the isles are clutter free, and fully stocked. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was virtually empty with a handful of customers. No lines and check out was a breeze. Whenever I'm in south jersey i will shop at this location, it's night and day compared to the ny locations. read more

Costco gas is not a good deal anymore. They used to be about 10 cents per gallon cheaper than nearby local gas stations, but now some local stations are the same price. Costco gas pumps have huge lines and it's not worth getting stuck there to save 50 cents for a fill up! read more

Great selection of frozen and fresh food. Great to go there to get some frozen apps for entertaining or your weekly meals. They have lots of food to try out in the form of samples, but they give you so much that it could end up being a meal! Only downside to this place, in my opinion, is that they do not have a deli. Also, I don't think they have alcohol here. They have a lot of appliances as well including the vitamix, kitchen aid products, fitness watches like the fit bit. You can bring back anything (except tv's I believe, if you are not satisfied with it). The checkout lines are a little long, so don't go here if you're in a rush, but it moves along. They have fresh food right after the checkout area, by the customer service. They have things like churros, frappes, pizza, etc., all very well priced!! read more

I just recently joined this Costco after being disappointed in SAMs club. This Costco has everything I need and it's clean!! The customer service is excellent and the lady that started my membership was wonderful, I believe her name is Joyce. She explained everything very well and even showed me how to sign up for savings and have gift cards sent to me within 30 days. This store has so much more then SAMs club and better organized. The meat and cheese selection is wonderful. The linens and household items are quality items for a great price. I'm so glad I joined this club!! Also I love their bakery section, so much to chose form and everything fresh. This particular Costco also a gas station which is very convenient and you get money back if sign you for the credit card and use it for gas. I am very pleased with this club!! read more

I had my car serviced there because of a tire issue. I was told that they would call me when they were done. I was walking around the mall, and I received no call after 1.5 hrs. I call them and no one picks up. Finally, three hours later, they pick up my phone call and tell me my car had been serviced. I drive back with a friend, I'm 30 minutes away at this point. Anyways, I get everything sorted out quickly as I'm in a hurry to get home to NY. My car is parked out front, I'm the number one car directly in front of the Costco store. I put in my bags in backseat and some guy names Sean bangs on my window door, and immediately starts yelling at me because my car has been parked out there for over 30 minutes. Wtf? He was so rude, and when I tried to explain the situation he rolled his eyes and made a racist comment. I have never been so disappointed. I will never come back here again. FU too Sean. read more

I love this place. It is very similar to Sams Club but better! They sale everything in bulks for big families, business, or bulk shoppers. They check your Costco card upon entry so anybody cannot just walk in freely. You have to have a membership! They have a gas station as well and the gas is about 7 cents cheaper than outside gas stations. It is definitely worth it! Each department you go to always has samples of everything from vitamins, cheese, crackers, and oven poppers. Not only do they have food, but also clothes and electronics at discounted prices. You will not be disappointed if you apply for a membership! read more

She made comments to me which were nasty and inappropriate beings she is supposed to be representing Costco. I loooove coming here!! I can come here hungry and leave full with all the free samples they give. HAHAHA. Besides that, this place is great in general. They have everything from fresh fruits to electronics and for such a great deal. I also like that you don't have to clip coupons coming here bc it's instant savings. I love just taking a stroll through and seeing what new items they have brought on. If you want to avoid crowds, don't come on a weekend. I don't mind it. I don't think the checkout is slow at all. They are good at what they do here and so friendly. The only downfall when I go here is that I always spend so much money! It has nothing to do with Costco itself. I hate to say that this is the last time I attend Costco. It took me a while to end this membership as I am a huge fan of their products. However, last month, I experienced BY FAR the worst level of disrespect I've ever experienced at their Mount Laurel, NJ location. I bought 4 tires for my VW Jetta and was eager to get new tires on my VW Wagon. Upon arriving the attendant took me 20 mins behind schedule and didn't inform me of the lack of equipment on site to properly install my tires. 1 hour later, they told me IT WAS MY FAULT for not having a key to my key lock. Upon being accused of such I properly requested to speak to a a manger to which she was unavailable for. He then proceeded to tell me he could not issue a refund to my card because the tires were already there' and could not and would not refund me. My rights as a consumer were violated and until this today, I'm still waiting to receive a refund to my card. read more

So many food samples! They are all very friendly too. Not like some places that gives you a weird look when you try their samples. If it is something good, we will buy it! I've bought things that I've tried here before that I otherwise would not have if I didn't know it was good because the bags/boxes are so big. The pizza would be my favorite from their food court. I may love Costco a little too much. Like, I get excited to go there. Costco has helped me to easily transition into an organic / whole 30 type of lifestyle with ease and not feel like i'm spending a small fortune on 4 items at WF or Wegmans. I can do my grocery shopping for the whole month with premium products for about the same price as two weeks worth of food at a regular grocery store. This particular location is great. No, they don't sell booze or have a deli but that's ok. The employees are what makes this location great. I'm always greeted courteously, the sometimes crazy long lines move VERY quickly bc they are so efficient, and someone is always willing to help you with large items or a look in the jewelry case. The lines at the gas station and the parking lot can be a nightmare if you go during peak hours on the weekend, but that is to be expected. We've learned that going during the week in the evening is the BEST time to go, even though you won't get any free samples! Oh and the concession stand is the best. Love their smoothies and hot dogs with sauerkraut. Where else can you get a foot long hot dog with all the toppings AND a drink for less than 2 bucks? I used to joke that my family used to go to church on Sundays, but now we go to Costco. But in all seriousness, my family does love Costco- and there is so much to love! The best recent addition to this Costco is the gas station. It is the most organized gas station I have ever been to, with directional lanes so there is no confusion. They don't take cash but you also don't need a Costco card to get your gas here- just a debit or credit card. The parking lot here is a little annoying because there's no really close spots and it can get pretty crowded- especially on the weekends. This Costco is like most other locations and has a food court. The food here is really good, I'm not super happy that they made the switch from Coke to Pepsi, but everything else is tasty at a low price. I love the churros and chicken bake. Costco has almost everything you can imagine and in bulk. There's nothing better than the samples, or when Costco has visiting companies come to give samples and have demonstrations. The weekends are super busy, but there are usually more samples and the lines always move really quickly. read more

Joined here almost 10 years ago because of the great customer service; getting ready to let my membership go. The commitment to customers at this store is just gone (rude workers all around), although prices remain excellent in many categories. I went in today to buy a sheet cake (the only way to order ahead without going in is by fax. Who faxes anymore?) and there wasn't one in the giant cake case. The bakery was "short" they told me. It's a Saturday- there are zero cakes to pick up? Last time I went to leave the woman who checks your receipt went off on my pre-schooler for trying to smack me. Before I could say anything & handle it myself, she was going off on him and on and on and frankly embarrassing me more than him. Totally out of line. read more

If you don't love Costco then I don't love you. This is probably the best Costco I have ever been to. I'm serious. The store is organized and clean. It's never overcrowded. In Costco fashion, the prices for bulk product are fantastic. The free samples are endless. I love their pre-made meals.... extremely delicious and last me a week. I could go on and on. Oh and the best part about this particular store.... NO CHECKOUT LINES. They appropriately staff the registers and keep the customers moving. It's incredible. I'm impressed. I have not felt safe at this location in awhile. They started out with arrows on the floor and every other check out aisle was used. Now it is a mob scene - no distancing while shopping - check out cashiers are in every aisle so although they are spacing the lines vertically you are shoulder to shoulder with the customer in the next aisle. Not good !! I really love Costcos but cannot go thru the stress of this shopping experience :( read more

This specific location does not have an Alcohol section which is disappointing because I heard that Costco Wine selection is exceptional. I entered as a guest to take a look around, and some prices were good and some were better for the value/size at ShopRite. The quality of the meats looked really good. I've been rather disappointed by recent changes in price and products (end of 2018 onward). Overall, the disappearance of brand name items for Kirkland brand is annoying. I simply don't being locked into fewer SKUs. Especially the Kirkland hotdog which are not the same as the ones sold at the food court. Prices have also risen rather dramatically. Ironically, I had reopened my BJ's membership due to Costco dropping some of my favorite brands only to find BJ's price lower across the board (except batteries). While I still prefer some Costco items over BJ's (baked goods, meats, prepared foods), I find myself splitting my cart between the two stores. BJ's much larger selection simply means they are getting much more of my money. read more

Pros: Nice, clean store. Friendly staff. "Steve" knows a lot in the electronics section. Cute guys in the photo lab that ALSO get your photos done correctly. A big bag of croissants is way cheaper than at the grocery. Food looks fresh. Roasted chickens cheaper than the grocery store, and they taste much better, too. Great prices on pet items (dog beds, chewy treats). If you don't like it, they'll take a return without giving you a bunch of crap. Free sample heaven: And that guy who yells "Crab Salad! You don't HAVE to be a CRAB to like Crab Salad!" Over and over again. Even the kids are impressed. Cons: A little crazy about letting you in the 'out' door to use the ATM ~before~ you load up your cart with frozen foods. Sometimes they discontinue stuff I love. Like the chicken salad sandwiches on the croissants. Those damn 'churros' have GOT to be bad for you, and the kids get the cinnamon sugar all over the car. It can get a little crazy on the weekends. ... things are better. Costco employees now help with ringing up and bagging your purchases instead of rapidly tossing loose items at you, while you rush to dump everything into 1 or 2 carts. I drive over 20 miles extra to get here as I have a Sam's Club just a few miles away and the Costco is like 17, so over 20 extra miles back and forth. Anyhow had to renew today. Either for $55 or $110. With $110 you get 2% back, so you have to spend $2750. We had the expensive membership & I do not know why. I was told that my 2% rebate for the previous year came to $4 and some change. We had spent over $2000 and was told that a check for $4 was being sent out. This made no sense. Then the membership services rep realized that the rebate was $40 something instead of $4, so she had to cancel the $4 check to send out the $40. THEN the supervisor came over looked at the monitor screen and said "He should have never been allowed to downgrade!" I told the supervisor not to blame the membership services as there was no way that I was going to pay for the extra $55 this time around. However, as the supervisor was reprimanding the Costco employee in front of me she refused to listen to or look at me. Then she added "He should NOT of been allowed to downgrade- only the wife can do that!" I pointed out that my membership had expired, and that I should be able to pick either membership. Again the supervisor was just irritated that a customer would have the gall to talk to her when she was berating an employee right in front of me for not being able to do an up-sell. Then she added again for good measure "He should NEVER HAVE BEEN DOWN GRADED!" I asked the membership services employee if she was going to be in trouble. She admitted that she might be, but not to worry about it. Being the supervisor had been so derogatory, I asked if there was someway online to give an employee compliment (to smooth things over.) She said not to worry about it, but that if I really wanted to there was an employee comment box across the store nondescript next to the ATM. I filled out a comment form stating that the membership service person was friendly and helpful, and dropped it into the box; however the box was jammed full. I could see through the slot that the employee comment box was stuffed, and from the size of the box it might of been years, since it was opened if ever. So evidently management has no problem chewing out customers in front of customers. And even talking about customers right in front of them. BUT this Costco has absolutely no interests in hearing about customers who want to giving a good recommendation or employee comments. They probably lost the key or combination to the lock, and have no interest in getting any feedback, even positive feedback from customers. Overall the store is good. The employees are great. But again there seem to be problems with management. read more

I've been to Costco's all over the place. I am impressed with this one because even if this Costco is busy, they have a full staff to man the registers and to get people out of there in a timely fashion. I never understood why the other Costco's would only place 3 cashiers on registers when there are about 10 registers available. Especially on busy days. It always made me mad to see that. I've been to this one numerous times and it's always been a speedy check out. Plenty of parking is also available. Out of all the other warehouse stores, this Costco is by far the BEST for Photo development. You can also take note that they are one of the very last places to be able to develop film within one our. Large poster prints are also printed with great quality and they can do it usually within one hour. You can also go to their photo site on-line and upload your prints and pick the sizes and quantities to print and send it to the store you want to pick them up at. This is great because if you just want to get your photos developed and not do any shopping, this is the way to go. One thing that I really hate, and it has nothing to do with Costco, but it does happen in their parking lot is.... LAZY PEOPLE that leave shopping carts all over the parking lot!!!! I wish the stores in the US would charge money to use shopping carts like they do in Europe. Put a quarter in the machine and get a cart, then if you return the cart, they refund the quarter. It sounds silly, but it works and eliminates the problem. Loose shopping carts on a windy day is bad news period. read more

Sadly I go here so often, I was advised to upgrade my membership to executive so I can at least get 2.5% cash back at end of the year. I do my big seasonal trips here (ya know w 2-3 carts) replenishing fridges/freezers and pantries. Yes certainly some products are cheaper at the grocery store when on sale, but the convenience to buy bulk in all things having to do w the house? I can't pass up. They have Everything!!! The cashier Michelle was the nastiest and most disrespectful person I've ever met in my life. Employees like her are what will make me and my family close out our Costco memberships. Believe me Costco I have no problem going out of my way to shop at BJ's or Sams Club after today's experience with your DISRESPECTFUL cashier Michelle. What most other reviewers have said is spot-on, so I won't repeat too much, although I will say they get big points for crowd control and opening more registers when needed. Some other big pluses here are the phone kiosk - you can get WAY better deals here than at your carrier's store, plus warranties and packs that come with car chargers and such. Another great feature is the photo counter - if you order online, they're ready at the store within an hour, quality is always great, and the prices are cheap, even for larger prints. They've recently added a make-your-own-collage poster, which is cheaper than if you ordered online, and is perfect for dorm rooms. read more

I love all Costcos and this one is pretty much like the others (no gas station though!). Great products, cheap prices and excellent customer service. It does get very crowded on the weekends, and is especially annoying when you have to wait in line for the receipt checker in order to leave, but it's the price you pay for Costco! I also recommend getting the Amex with cashback--if you go there a lot, it really pays off. The biggest plus with this Costco is it's location from Philadelphia. The KoP one is equidistant, but this one is much easier and quicker to get to. Plus, it's in a plaza that has every other shop you'd need for a complete errand run (pet store, fabric store, sporting goods, Target, Wegmans). I'd like to see one closer to the city, but this one is definitely worth the drive. read more

Moving from the Pacific Northwest where Costco was first created (Seattle/Kirkland/Issaquah, WA), my hubby LOVES Costco so when we travel to the city for our big grocery shopping trip, we always stop by. They are starting to carry a lot more organic items and the prices are pretty fair. The items I typically get are: Organic sugar (10 lbs for $10) Dried dates, organic Frozen strawberries, organic ($10 for 4 lbs) Honey, organic (3 - 1lb pack for $12-13) Maple syrup, organic (1 lb - $12) Bananas, organic Whole chicken, organic ($2.49/lb - cheapest I've seen) Organic bread (2 loaves for $5-6) 6 pack of avocados ($5) Samples are always a plus because you can try a lot of different items before committing to buying the product. Gas prices here are typically lower than other gas stations. I hope Costco continues to expand their organic items and my hubby would love it if they started selling alcohol and wine. read more

My parents are members, so is my brother. This one is exceptional, never really overcrowded, nice assortment of things, from they great meats, to fruits & veggies. I purchased me tires for My car recently, but they are competitive to other wholesale clubs, giving you lifetime balancing of your tires, tires pressure, inflated by nitrogen-mix. Rotation of your tires as well. Great, can't beat the prices either. read more
