Where is the first place you'd think to go when you are in a hotel room? To a store that requires mega carts and pallet loaders to get your groceries out the door? Yep, that would be my first thought. We don't drink soda often and we wanted some carbonated water for the room and had been sticker shocked by everyone else in town. It was a $1 cheaper here, but we decided it was not worth the savings to not be able to pick the flavors we like. We started walking around and I knew I wanted the hummus they have in the mini containers, that would fit the mini fridge perfect. Great room snack with some celery or chips. I was happy we left with just the hummus and the knowledge we could go back if we needed to, instead of having to use the freight elevator at the hotel to get our supplies laid in. Costco is my favorite place to grocery shop. What's not to love? Member only access, free samples, cheap gas, the ability to return anything without question, large bricks of your favorite cheese that otherwise would have cost you a fortune? Not to mention buying in bulk so that you only have to shop once a month. Granted, there are a few fresh things I can't get here and so I like the local Super One for those items, but otherwise, Costco it is. Costco's one caveat...you may fall in love with an item only to find that it is no longer sold there...this might not be a big deal in the big city but living in Montana, you'll probably never see it again.. I like that I can go to any Costco with my membership and peruse the regional offerings when visiting.. read more

Once again, my family and I went in with a short list, yet managed to come out with things we never even knew that we needed! Socks, glasses, books & magazines, etc. Great prices (as always)! AND, when getting back into the car, a terrific gal asked if she could take the store's 'scooter' back to the store for me...What a terrific lady! It's Costco, what can I say? Inexpensive dogs and pizza that are tasty. The staff is friendly and the place is clean enough. Wait lines can be long depending on the time of day. But you don't need a membership to partake! So that's cool. read more

This Costco is amazing! We ended up here an hour before they opened with a completely flat tire on our rental and the station attendant was kind enough to radio in to see if anyone had arrived who could help us with some air - we lucked out and got air to head down the road to fix it with the rental company. They went above and beyond and saved our day! read more

I love Costco but this one falls very short. Most Costco's have a excellent selection of organic options but this particular locations is very lacking. This last week I visited this location and it only had a few organic produce selections. Virtually no organic veggie options, only the pre-bagged salad mixes to choose from. We were on a two week 4,000 mile road trip to visit two National Parks and family in WA & OR. This trip the plan was to fuel up at Costco, get ice for the cooler and check the store for items which we cannot get at home. We were on a hunt for Huckleberry Jam. In 2015 our AZ Costco had Huckleberry jam when no other Costco near us had it. We purchased 17 jars but it's all gone! Our AZ Costco had this item just once and never again, so the hunt was on! The local Tourist stores here had the 16oz jars for over $13.00. Upon entering the Kalispell Costco our hunt was over, there was a display of HUCKLEBERRY JAM! YES! We purchased 24 jars to lug home to AZ. The jam was around $7.79 per 16 oz jar--a Costco deal! Many thanks to the Costco employee who made sure we had the box dividers to prevent breakage!! Also ice for coolers is a deal and gasoline is always clean & safe at Costco. This was the only Costco that we found the Huckleberry Jam. Will return in two years when our supply is gone? read more

Shop weekly at this store. Its Costco, right? Been to Costco's all over the US. I find the Kalispell Costco sells old produce. Only location I have ever experienced this problem at. Have had to throw away food that's been in my fridge or cupboard after 2 or 3 days. I'll buy everything else there, but buy perishables at a local grocery store that sells it fresh. Too bad they can't seem to get the food on the shelves sooner. read more

Well my husband and myself have been members of Costco for some time now approx. 10 years give or take. recently we opened our own business and we have always travel to Kalispell from our home town which is about 2 hours away for our product in a half a year we spent quite a bit of money at Costco each time we check out its a question on the individuals we check out with because we are treated differently at different times. today we went in for our usual product run for the week. Well we are both on the same account our mail that comes from Costco comes in my husbands name proof he is the main card holder, when we go to check out we used my card because his was left at home no big deal so we thought since we are on the same account we both pay for the same exact account our credit cards are in our names together. Any way when we were checking out we used my card but my husband had the cash in his wallet as I didn't take my purse and we were told that we can no longer do this if he is paying he has to use his card if I am paying I have to use my card which is completely a stupid rule. I don't know if we are treated different because of our race since we are natives but there have been many times we come in and are treated very unfriendly but then there are times when we are treated very well too. This is why I say when we are checking out we have to make sure we watch out for the individuals at the cash register because of treatment, we spend lots of money for our business and would like to be able to just go in shop in peace and check out in peace with nobody telling us how to shop or pay for our product we pay our card membership which is $120 each year that is on the same account. We pay the same way every time but there are certain individuals that want to start giving us new rules. If this is such a problem then why are we on the same account whats the point of having two cards for a husband and wife what difference does it make whos card we are using mine or his when we are both there checking out together and why does it make a difference who is paying when we are both there checking out together? It is very irritating when different individuals have their own rules I have always liked Costco regardless of the treatment but I tend to go to great falls to Sams Club because we are treated better it doesn't matter who is paying and who is holding the card as we have our accounts there as well. when walking in the doors of sams you don't even have to show your card until you are checking out. When your points are added up through the year you don't have to wait for a check in the mail that looks like junk mail its right there electronically asking if you would like to use your points I mean we are in the 20th century who uses check anymore anyway, We are very friendly and easy to get along with individuals so it is very frustrating to be treat with such disrespect and treated like we are lying or cheating on something we pay for. read more

Usually the employees at Costco are so nice but I experienced something different tonight. While in line, my husband and I placed our items down as two separate purchases because he was buying our groceries with his debit and I needed to use my school credit card to buy a cake for my students' graduation. After my husband finished his transaction, we tried to use our membership card again but the cashier refused to let me make the purchase because I don't have my own card. Although I understand how the rules and membership works, there is no possible situation where I would need my own card because I am unable to go anywhere without my husband, due to the fact that I am legally blind and cannot drive. This has never been a problem before because we usually buy our items as one, but tonight the circumstances were different. Not only did the encounter make me feel worse about my disability and why I don't have my own card in the first place, but it made me not want to shop there anymore. read more

Typical Costco-why oh why must they move everything ALL the time. I'm aware of the "marketing strategy" in doing so but I think the "frustration" of shoppers should be a first priority. Also about the time you find a new item (rarely because you're so busy trying to find your needed go-to items) it's gone, no longer available "seasonal." I found the pharmacist to be rude and unprofessional. When I questioned a medication which had been ordered by my veterinarian, a different brand and strength had been substituted by the pharmacy and when I was told to cut the pill in half, even though the pill was not scored, the pharmacist just laughed and said I might get a little more medicine in one 1/2 then in the other, but no big deal. This medication was a heart medication for my pet and to me it was a big deal. If the pharmacy at Costco takes this attitude with animal medications what guarantees that they will not use the same indifferent attitude for medications for people.. I feel that medication dispensed by a professional should be handled with great accuracy wether for a two legged or four legged customer. I do not intend to utilize the Costco Pharmacy again and am willing to pay the extra cost to insure that my medications or those of my pet are handled in the proper manner. Worst place in the world to buy tires, I bought snow tires last year, looked around to see they were fine, but when I got home my vw sign was gone on the tire ( they didn't properly put it back on) but I figured oh well that's their mistake. Last week my snow tire warped out, they had said it was a "bad tire" but that it was still my fault and they would only credit me $32, as I'm talking to them about only needing 2 tires they tell me yes they can do that, and that they don't take appointments, I would just have to come in before 10:30am and I could get two tires. Well that was Wednesday and I went in on Friday, I was there right at 10:15am and no other cars were there, I sent my friend in to let them know we were there and she filled out paper work, and 3 trucks pulled up, had appointments , and got there tires on before we did, makes no sense (since they said they didn't take appointments). But okay, so then my friend is there inside, and they tell her that we can't just buy 2 tires but we have to buy 4, couple days ago they said they could do just 2, so my friend says, "why can't you mount the rims on the two tires, and they said they can't do that, if they did just two tires they wouldn't be able to put the tires back on the car" and of course my friend was like "how are we going to get it home with no tires" and he said it was not his problem. We got our 4 tires that we didn't necessarily need, but I would never ever recommend them to anyone, worst customer service ever, very misleading, just awful! read more
