I mentioned that's not on their website (or voicemail) that they aren't accepting new patients and the response was "we don't update it every day". Would have been nice to know if and when new patients are accepted. I reached out to a specialty office for a speciality service - based on their website/Yelp/Google that's what they offer. If I wanted to utilize Insurance through my Primary Care Doc that's the route I would have taken. I love supporting local businesses over huge corporations, and would have been happy paying out of pocket for services as it relates to my ear health. This will not be a local business I suggest working with.

I couldn't hear out of my left ear. It was horrible! So that night I searched on yelp and found the most amazing hearing clinic. I called the next morning right when they opened and the receptionist was the nicest person and got me an appointment the very same day. Dr. Ashley was the doctor that took care of me. She's absolutely amazing. She was very thorough and explained to me everything she was doing. She definitely spent over an hour with me irrigating both my ears and micro suction. I'm so happy she was able to get all that compacted wax out of both my ears. I can hear again!! I'll definitely be back to have my ears cleaned on a regular basis.

Turned out two friends are Kenwood Patients for the past decade and the other for 5 years. Especially satisfied. My work has been with Inessa Rubinshteyn over the past few months. From "test drives" thru selection of Phonak and now making adjustments to my particular needs. Her manner is calm, patient and empathic. I know I am understood by her and she joins me in my celebration of learning to hear in a new way. I asked for a brief appointment for a slight adjustment and her team mate jumped in to help out. It was time for adjustments to my 15 year old Oticon Agile Pro hearing aids especially since I…read moreruptured my left ear drum in March due to an infection. In the hearing aid arena functioning 15 year old aids are not that common I'm told. So the problem is finding an outfit that has the ribbon cables to connect to the computer to make adjustments. The place prior to this had no idea what they were doing and finally after coming in a 2nd time figured it out. This time I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing and had the tools to do it. After calling multiple places in the bay area I finally found one who said they could do it. I questioned them repeatedly regarding this because I didn't want another waste of time like in the past. HearingLife delivered. Not only was the hearing test the most extensive I have ever had but the programming the aids was quick and efficient. Granted aids this old did require a call to Oticon which was resolved fast. After hooking them up the program makes the changes. I asked about other tweaks but at this point my hearing is so bad I'm at the end of what theses aids can do. I opted for the 1 year service plan which covers visits, cleanings, 12 month supply of batteries, domestic and wax guards. Since my bill was $370 for this visit it wasn't a huge leap to go for the service plan at $425. I thought about doing the 3 year plan but I really dont think these aids will serve me well after another year. I noticed some of the reviewers had issues with this place and believe those represent earlier individuals. Overall, the staff was great. Making an appointment from start to finish was via text, kids these days. In the room where aids are actually programed Ella had a full inventory of wires, domes, guards, etc at her disposal which was impressive given past experiences elsewhere where practitioners had little inventory and had no idea what they had or where it was. Overall, Ella did a great job on my test and programming and explaining my hearing issues and would recommend her to anyone.

Hats off to Anga and Hannah. I was happy with my widex hearing aids after five years - and they…read morereplaced one that was lost under warranty. My hearing decreased a bit so i looked a buying a new set to take advantage of changes in technology. They suggested the phonak ultrasphere. These have much better controls and integration with the iphone but to get better results you really have to know how to use the app. They got on support with Phonak and walked through my use case and we tailored the app (from the phonak app and apple dash board) so that i could adjust for different use cases : TV, playing live music, restaurant, etc. The Phonak can reprogram some settings with a remote session. So in my house we logged into a support call and they adjusted some of the settings. They also phoned me a few times so that i could learn about some of the nuances - such as adjusting sound levels of background noises. The Phonak allows adjusting speaker and mic levels as well as mike source. It's no fun losing your hearing as you get older but really great having the support of professionals who know their way around new technology!

Updated review: I…read morewas forced to use a different audiologist due to my employer's insurance coverage. After I got my aids, I needed assistance but they never returned my phone calls, emails, or a request for help through the manufacturer's iPhone app. It was worth it to me to pay a "transfer of coverage" fee to Dr. Lao to have her take over maintenance of them. To make a long story very short, the original dispenser put the wrong length wires on my aids so that the front-facing microphones were buried behind my ears making them useless. Certainly explains a lot, eh? Dr. Lao replaced the wires for me and now the hearing aids are in the right place - peeking over the tops of my ears and letting the microphones do what they were designed to do -- pointing towards people I am talking to so that I can hear them.
