NOT EXACTLY GOOD BEDSIDE MANNERS, Dr. Maxwell Furr…read more PDX ENT & Audiology fired me as a patient for missing two appointments over four years when my ear hurts and I need a cancer scope!!! They call themselves audiologists and ENT surgeons, but they are utterly TONE DEAF socially. Way too much West Hills high-altitude attitude here, if you know what I mean. And the staff does not give a HOOT. Sport to them. They do not seem happy. When I asked for my patient records, they said I needed to sign up on their patient portal to obtain my records-- THIS, they are telling me AFTER I am being terminated as a patient. And the rub is this: on this provider portal, there is an option for text/ email reminders. I NEVER KNEW ABOUT their portal. Why the FUDGE was I not shown this system after the first missed appointment!!!??? COMPLETE JOKE OF AN OPERATION... and the world is too nutty for another JOKER! Do others feel this way??? It was a technology issue but the company took no time to figure out what was broken.... I AM NOT A DOCTOR but that does not seem like good medicine. BAD medicine it seems. For reference, this was my message to them upon learning that I was terminated as a patient when needing urgent care... " Subject General Medical Q&A Dr. Maxwell Furr Patient ABCXYZ******* Message For the record: after four years of appointments, I have NEVER received a SINGLE piece of electronic communication in the way of reminders texts, emails or phone calls from PDXENT despite PDXENT having my cell number AND email. Geezus. Broken ****** system... take some responsibility, PDXENT. There was a technology/ security reason why I missed my appointment it turns out. I have many devices and calendars... there was a security lock on a key sharing calendar... I LOVE text-based reminders... or email, BUT PDXENT is THE ONLY provider I have that has NOT historically (say, in the past four years) provided me any reminder notification. My ear hurts, it is not exactly easy to find providers... It is not even that I think the PDXENT patient-termination policy is draconian (yes-- DRACONIAN), ...it is that PDXENT never took time to figure out the disconnect after the first "strike". When did electronic notification become available???? Why did we not deal with this on the first "strike"... My guess is that operations are broken, the staff is generally pissed and the owners are geared on Porsches. Blow. ...that sums it up for me. They can do just that.

I have been going to Able Hearing since 2021 when I bought my current pair of Widex Moment 440…read moreHearing Aids. A couple of months ago they texted me that it was time for a hearing test. It had been over a year and so I called to inquire about the cost and they told me that there would be no charge. I went in. The tech sat me down in a booth and told me to listen to various beeps - you know the drill. He told me that the receptionist would come in and read words to me whicn I was to repeat back. That didn't happen. He wasn't familiar with the Widex proprietary software but fiddled with various settings anyway. The first setting was blaringly loud. I told him it was very uncomfortable. He reduced the volume several times and then gave up and said jhe'd return the settings to the original. In the meantime he inadvertently clicked on a toggle whicn changed the function of the button on each hearing aid from volume control to hearing program selection. I realized this a day later and made another appointment to have it switched back. The second appointment went well. The tech called Widex and they walked him through the process to have the button function returned to volume control. However, along the way another function went awry. On the Widex app there are various programs When you change the program (on your phone) to a new one, it announces the name of the new one through the speakers of your hearing aids. That function stopped working. I made another appointment. That was this morning. The tech called Widex. When the first customer service representative realized he needed to go up the chain and put him/us on hold, the tech hung up and quit trying to solve the issue. He started complaining as though I was taking advantage of his time. I mentioned that the problem(s) were his fault - not being familiar with the Widex software. He denied any responsibility for the issue and told me he was not willing to give me any more of his time. He invited me to go elsewhere which I did. And I'm glad I did. You'll see lots of nice reviews when Karl was running the ship. He was a terrific gentleman. But he hasn't been there for a couple of years now.

The hearing aid that we had previously purchased from a big box retailer was not providing…read moresatisfactory performance for my mom. We went to Able Hearing, hoping to find something that worked better. We were really happy with our decision. The personalized customer service we received enabled my mom to get a much better fit on her hearing aid and much better performance. Lucas was great. He took the time answer our questions and provide guidance on which models might be best suited for her. The extra time he spent on the fitting made a big difference on how it worked for her. It's been about a year since my mom received her new hearing aid. During that time, their customer service has been excellent, providing adjustments and tuning. Each time, they have been friendly and welcoming. Our observation is that they really go the extra mile in providing customer service. We were really pleased with the way they handled the situation when my mom recently lost her hearing aid. Living with hearing loss can be very frustrating at times. Although we would have saved money by buying another unit at a big box store, we felt it was worth the extra money to have someone spend extra time on the fitting and tuning so that we would have better results. We are very pleased with our experience here and highly recommend their services.
