Went to this Costco location on a Wednesday just after it opened and it was busy, but was able to find parking in the lot with no issues. They had what I needed but some of the items I could find in the local supermarket for a cheaper price, if you know your prices. Some items were cheaper on the bulk packaging, like the primal kitchen mayo at 9.99 and eggs. Loved that they had the self-checkout and they had a lot of people to help out if you needed help. They also have a gas station at this location, so it is convenient to get gas here while you shop and the price is the lowest in the area, I found. Would recommend you go early and on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds, if you could. read more

I went to this Costco location to buy some groceries a couple of days back. Man! It was packed! People were shoulder to shoulder at many spots, no social distancing because they just allowed everyone in there, no limits! What happened to the limits which they used to enforce when this pandemic started? Things are worse now, we have mutant strains, but they seem to have forgotten that we're in an pandemic. This is my local Costco, my family is here every month. It's never unorganized and the staff is really nice. I love the gas station since it opened because of the short lines, unlike the Fairfax location. However, the prices are not that low compared to gas stations in Manassas. So if you go here just for gas and live near Manassas, I wouldn't say it's that big of a difference. read more

This review is just for the tire center. Customer service is TERRIBLE! I waited 45 minutes just to check in. With no apology. They told me that it would take 1hr and half to complete. Total time was 2hrs and 20 min. After getting into my car 1 tire only had 28 psi and the other 3 had 34psi, meaning no one did a QA before handing over my keys. Lastly I have aftermarket stem caps. One of the technician tried to steal it. Luckily I noticed and confronted the technician. They put the caps back on and I left as dissatisfied customer. read more

During the COVID-19 pandemic Costco has become a war zone. The staff is ready to provide consistent wipe downs of carts and self checkout lines. The one staff member that stood out to me was Irene for negative attitude and snappy remark. I asked to pay half of the bill and she responded with "how much do you want to pay?". Confused I said half of the bill which she responded with a rude tone "I don't have a calculator so tell me how much". Another coworker had to step in and help before anything escalated. read more

I have been shopping at this Costco for years and it's great! I used to go to the Fairfax location but this one is slightly less crazy busy. Even though the parking lot is packed, you can always find a spot and the checkout lines are really efficient. Love that they have gas here now but it def adds to the crowdedness. I have to say, the optical center at this loocation is the best. They have a great selection of frames and the staff working there are friendly and knowledgeable. read more

The staff in this store lack basic customer service skills and training. I was here at their new super early closing and I was in line when I remembered I need a last minute item. I went back for it and they kicked me out. They said because of forklifts, fine. You can't ask what I needed and grab it for me? We're all in this together, unless you're a costco customer. Generally I go to checkout but saw long lines and had only few counters open today. I got tempted to try self checkout which was a bad decision. Their kiosks were slow and the lady and gentleman who supposed to help at self checkout were busy checking their phones. When I asked lady to help, she yelled at me to wait until she talks to her friend or go to the checkout line. What a nice way to treat customers at Costco. This Costco is about 5 miles from the Fairfax location. If you want a stress free shopping experience, this is the one to go to! I don't understand why and I'm not going to question it, but this location seems to be practically empty on the weekends (compared to the FFX location). You will not feel the need to drop kick every man woman and child and you will have easy access FREE SAMPLES! What more do I need to say??? They also seem to carry items that the FFX location doesn't. For example, my bf loves coke zero and always wondered by the ffx location didn't offer it. After writing my wonderfully acidic review of the Crystal City Costco, I stumbled upon this location while shopping for home supplies in preparation for my new move. What I discovered was a location that was not overrun with people, moronic drivers who think they're back in their home countries (yes, to include my own Korean brethren), and a parking lot that was halfway friendly to get out of. The inside was your standard Costco layout - only with a bonus. I found two Whirlpool Duet Washer/Dryer stands for only $149 - these puppies typically go for about $230-250 depending on where you're at. Considering I had put that purchase off for the last few years, this was like that magical moment when you wake up from an all-night bender, hungry as hell, and reach in your pocket to find a squished up $20. Score, Wendy's money. That's exactly what I said when I left that Costco that day. I'll be back! And to the Crystal City Costco? Today I received a $640 rebate coupon and saved -- NOTHING!!! After wasting an hour of my time driving to Costco and shopping, they refused to accept the rebate coupon they sent to me. In order to get the coupon I had to call three times, as the original coupon was marked "void" and the promised replacements never arrived until now -- 2 weeks late. Don't count on the promised rebate -- I've been a member for 30 years and if they treat me this poorly guess how you will fare. read more

It pains me to reveal what is probably others' best-kept secret, too, but this Costco is one of the best in the northern Virginia area. The parking situation is usually tame compared to other local Costcos, such as the Fairfax location (not recommended for weekend shopping). Customer service is excellent--fast, friendly, and efficient. Member services folks are really nice and fast. Staff manning the sample stations seem knowledgeable about the products they're trying to sell. And speaking of products, this Costco is brimming with goodies. Just in time for the holidays, they've put out great gift items for all ages. Plush toys and gaming accessories abound. And prices are good. One of the big plush animals I was eying was a giant Hello Kitty. Perfect for any Sanrio/Hello Kitty aficionado. Other great gift ideas include affordable outerwear, Elliott Lucca purses, Kirkland Signature wines, Oil of Olay skincare packs, kids pajama sets,and small and large electronics. With so much going on in the warehouse, I thought it would help to steer you towards some of the most attractive items/sections: 1. Green olives from Italy, tasty and a steal at around seven bucks for a large jar 2. Their cheese section--lots of choices 3. Bulk nuts--Get everything from almonds to pistachios. 4. Packs of farm-raised or wild fish 5. Frozen entrees and appetizers for entertaining 6. Bulk Perrier 7. Fresh meat--Meat lovers seem to be fans of Costco's meat. Tom N. says their meat is noticeably fresher than other places. 8. Fresh pizzas and chicken bake 9. Paper towels--These may not always be the best deal around town, but their brand's quality is way better than other store brands. (Whole Foods's paper towels are a terrible disappointment.) 10. Large bottles of salon-grade shampoos and conditioners (Beauticians can probably get better deals at professional beauty supply store, but Costco is a great option for the everyday person who likes salon products.) The only section of the store that is rather lackluster is the produce section. I thought the prices were steep, and the quality was inferior to supermarket chains. First, I will preface this by saying I absolutely hate walking through the doorway into this place. I'm repulsed by the way ordinary people lose all sense of direction and spatial relationships as they push double wide carts around with one hand while shoving the egg roll sample into their mouth with the other. I come here solely because I have two little kids who are milk fiends, and you can buy two gallons of BGH free milk here for slightly more than the cost of one gallon at Giant or Teeter. This location is better than the one in Fairfax because the aisles are wider so you are less likely to be pinned into a corner by four shoppers examining the five gallon tub of Miracle Whip. I think I turn heads when I'm shopping here, as it seems odd that I manage to get in and out while never spending more than five bucks. read more

Compared to the other Costcos I've been at in No. VA, CA, and HI, this Costco has the best customer service. Costco is an international chain of warehouse club stores. This Costco is one of the newest in the Northern Virginia area. It opened in late 2003. The parking lot is a little troublesome, but not nearly as bad as the Costco at Pentagon City or Newington-Springfield. Compared to the older Costcos, it is a little bigger, thus better organized because they can spread out the departments a little better. I think they are really good about checking people out quickly. Even on a Saturday or Sunday or the month before Christmas when the crowds are large, they seem to move people through surprisingly quickly for the numbers that turn out. read more

I went to the Costco store the last Wednesday and there was a horrible service ever! They give me hard time because I forgot my card and they weren't able to find out my information in the system! I had to go home and bring it and ... I bought few things and I pay it when I was about to leave and i check my receipt and I found out that they charged me double for one item!! I'm always sad that I have to drive out to Sterling for Costco gas prices. Thank goodness it's becoming more affordable again. Waltzed out with a box of Arizona green tea cans, a jar of capers, a double pack of giant nutella jars, giant bottle of Fructis Garnier, and miscellaneous other must-haves. Their chicken bakes used to be a foot long, but they've diminished in size over the years. Photo processing quality isn't so great, but not sure how much of that the camera is to blame. Makes me think of the good old college days when a polish dog combo and splitting a churro meant for a comfortable pre-shopping afternoon. I enjoy Costco products and deals but the staff seems to be resting on their laurels a bit. Entering the store I had to walk by 2 employees smoking/talking on mobiles on their break, and I heard mention of DUI. Isn't there a more private area for them? I went to pick up greeting cards at the Photo Center I had ordered online--a disorganized mess of letters in an un-alphabetized fashion. The lady working in the photo dept encouraged me to come back tomorrow as the computer was down. I don't live close enough to come here every day looking for my order. I specifically wanted to buy some goodies in advance of family coming to town. I was informed I could NOT buy one package of muffins, I had to buy 2 as they are mix and match. They were somewhat flattened anyway. I told them I didn't want any at all then, as I had to wait a long time in line and was NOT going to the bakery section after the long wait. The cart area is often trashy and I've heard other people complain when the carts are all wet from being outside in the rain vice pulled inside under the roof. When you see the staff trying to interact with customers the staff always seem pained. I'm going to try my luck at a different location next time. read more

So, why doesn't all Costco's have Self-Checkout lanes like this location? Almost every time I'm here (which is a lot, now that I live so close), I find these lanes extremely convenient, especially when picking up a few items. This location is great though! Huge parking lot, so getting in and out is never really a problem (compared to the Springfield location that I used to live near to), plus, they always have samples here! Free food is almost always great. Of course, use common sense and go during Off-Peak times if you have little to no patience, like myself. read more

Convenient, but best visited during cooler seasons. This COSTCO REEKS of body odor during warmer weather. In the summertime it is virtually unbearable, especially in the electronics section and when you first enter the store. I have my own opinions on why this happens, but will skip that analysis for fear of being labeled. If you are sensitive to B.O. go to the COSTCO in Ashburn. It's less crowded and the customers apparently have learned to bathe and apply deodorant. read more

I HEART this Costco. I love me some Costco in general, but this one has a much better selection of stuff than the one in Manassas. Especially beer. Yes, I made a Costco review about beer ... shocking, huh? But seriously ... the one in Manassas doesn't have much outside of the basics and Sam Adams and New Belgium large packs. (And a three pack of Sam Adams special brews, which I found very unfulfilling. But this Costco sells cans of Lost Rhino Faceplant by the case, bottles of Lagunitas IPA by the case, and had both Corsendonk Christmas Ale and a 3-pack of Ommegang brews, and more. In general I found the selection more diverse across the board, and the parking lot a bit easier to navigate since it is in a shopping center rather than a stand-alone facility. And they have self checkout! It doesn't have some of the whistles and bells (like gas) that my hometown Costco has, but I don't really use those Costco resources anyway. It has a better selection of the things I like. And since it's a very short detour on my way home from work, I think I'll be making my post-work Costco runs here from now on. read more

When you become a mom of two like me, you are handed a pair of pleated, tapered jeans, keys to a minivan, and a Costco membership card. The place has always intimidated me especially since I fear crowds, fighting for parking spots, and waiting in long lines. But the Costco experience is so much more pleasant at this Chantilly location. I have to admit I love Costco. This one seems to be a little less crazy, as in less packed with people and more room and wider aisles. since I live and work about 10-15 minutes from here I also seem to end up wandering the aisles about once a week, whether it's for food, wine, ,clothes or furniture. I'm never disappointed with what I get and if I find that if something doesn't work out I can always take it back without any fuss. A nice thing is that Kirkland brand (Costco generic) is always as good or better than any name brand product, that doesn't always happen at other stores. Yea Costco! A great place to get a basic hearing/audio screening however the customer service is lacking. The technician is curt, irritable and impatient with customers including the elderly. A little compassion and patience goes a long way. I would consider going to another center. read more

Fairfax is closer to my home but I am very spoiled by the sister store at Chantilly Crossing. The store is exceptionally well managed and I am always impressed at how efficiently the store runs. Managers are visible, pro-active and never idle on the floor. They do an absolutely awesome job. Employees do a first rate job and try to greet every customer iwith a smile. The Costco business model is clearly working. I generally go during early weekday afternoons. Store is always super clean, merchandise displayed neatly and lots of room to leisurely shop the floor. Love being a premier member. Annual rebates are great to apply to larger purchases. Today with our rebate and a $70 Costco coupon, we saved $250 on four Michelin tires for my husband's Infinity SUV. Kirkland branded items have been great, especially the wines!! Cannot say it enough - Costco gets it right especially at Chantilly Crossing. read more

This Costco has ample parking. Given all Costco's are busy. The Costco gas line moves fairly quickly on weekends and it's pretty empty during the weekdays.
