We ordered a new set of tires on line and scheduled an appointment. We arrived on time and was told it would be 90 minutes for the installation. It was over two hours and there is no place to wait other than the food court. That is not comfortable for that long of a wait. We have been members of Costco for 30 years and are disappointed in the set up of the new Bend Costco. The pharmacy is another location with no waiting area as there are elderly and sick folks there. The staff is always courteous and they to help, but the tire location and pharmacy could be more accommodating. read more

Stay away from the Costco gas station. Just like the warehouse, it is a crowded, chaotic, poorly designed, and dangerous place. Vehicles passing in the narrow lanes to get out, or go to a empty spot at the front of the line. And for god-sakes! no place for a motor home. Cost me $2,000 now, and another ~4,000 over the next 3 years, to get around some jerk who drove around and backed in front of my motor home to get to the recently vacated front pump. Thought I could get around the guy (he was having all sorts of trouble parking and getting his payment going). The sharp turns to get around him caused my toad to jack-knife left, bang the curb sending the wheels to the right, and then jack-knife right to clip his fender! I'm ambivalent about Costco in general but I will say that this one is typical of the brand. Maybe not the biggest but certainly not small. No gas station that you'll find at some other Costco's but that's minor. Pros: - Great deals on a lot of good quality merchandise, including their Kirkland brand. - Efficient checkout considering the volume of customers. - Employees are by and large friendly and enthusiastic. Some exceptions, of course. Cons: - Many items are offered in quantities too large for me. That's the thing with 'warehouse' stores of course but it's still a negative. - Costco seems to attract more than their share of shoppers that annoy me. Rude cart behavior, unwillingness to follow health mandates, etc. - They don't take Mastercard which forced me to open an account with Visa if I wanted to shop here. - Parking lot isn't designed to accomodate the hordes of people pushing huge shopping carts back to their cars. They should have cart paths between the rows. I'm aware that no one else does this either but Costco carts are bigger and tend to be loaded. read more

It's that time of the year again. Make an appointment to have your snow tires put on, check in, wait about an hour and you're on your way. Except at Costco Tire. I checked in about 10 minutes early. After about an hour I walked out to the tire bays to see what was happening with my rig. It was in a bay but no-one was working on it. By the way, the Costco Tire reception area is now inside the main Costco and there is NO waiting area. (Who thought that up?). I won't take you through this whole frustrating experience, but will sum it up with ... after several trips outside and to the tire desk, it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get my rig back!! Let me put it like this, if you watch the managers and crew at Les Schwab, you see organization and efficiency. I saw just the opposite at Costco Tire. I had previously been thinking about getting my next set of tires there, but now I will totally avoid them. read more

Are you kidding me? Who doesn't love Costco?! We have a love hate relationship. I love going there and hate looking at my visa statement at the end of the month! Haha! Their return policy is better than no other, the quality of items they carry is guaranteed. Pricing is generally the best for what you buy. While in Sunriver OR., we found a Costco in Bend. The staff was friendly and helpful. Note to self - you cannot buy liquor at Costco or any grocery store. It must be purchased at a liquor store. Back to the review. One thing about Costco I appreciate is predictability. After about a half an hour on two phone calls, I was told by the 800 HQ# that NO .... Costco doesn't do installation or haul away in Bend. BUT .... they will give me $100 or come back and get it ... I just love Costco and the new one in Bend, Oregon is outstanding, with one BIG exception. I take my car to a Costco Tire Center twice a year to swap out summer/winter tires. The old Costco off Purcell was always my favorite because their Tire Center had it's own entrance, benches and seats to wait for your car to be done, which was always helpful when you shop the whole time your car is being serviced, and you have an overloaded cart with you. This was a great convenience!!! The new Costco has no separate Tire Center entrance, everyone goes in the same entrance and you have to walk a distance inside the store to get to the Tire Center desk! There are no benches or seats anywhere in sight for you to sit and wait for your car. (Maybe this was intentional so that you spend all of the one to two hours of waiting for your car to be done inside shopping!) Well that doesn't work because once you check out and leave the store, you can't bring your cart back inside the store. What genius designer/engineer thought this one up??? So, I called the store and was connected to Elise in the Tire Center. When I told her that I couldn't come back inside to the Tire Center to get my key and my car when it was finally done, she simply said go to the first service bay and let them know to get you key and let you know where your car is. Very unprofessional and inconvenient. How can you NOT have a waiting area when tire service is always more than an hour wait. There were other things I could complain about, but with a new store, new employees and all the craziness of the new store, maybe those will work themselves out. But no Tire Service entrance, no waiting area, seating?? That is a huge customer inconvenience!!! I probably will not have my tires swapped out at Costco ever again. Costco needs to hire knowledgeable staff for the tire center. We dealt with Lacey C when purchasing new tires for my son's car. She sold us the tires that would fit his car (after being shown a picture of the current ones so she could read the size and dimensions needed). She gave us an appointment for 2 weeks later at 10am to have the tires put on. We showed up and were told the appointment had been made for 3:15 so we ended up having to leave his car. He had to get to work so we weren't able to pick the car up by the time they closed. They did call at 6:30 that evening to tell us the car had been serviced and was ready to be picked up. We arrived the next morning to see that his original tires were still on the car and were then told the tires that had been ordered were the wrong size and they couldn't order the right ones. Why on earth wouldn't you know this from the beginning???? And why wouldn't you let us know the situation instead of telling us the car had been serviced??? A HUGE WASTE OF TIME. HORRIBLE SERVICE. We weren't even offered an apology. We will NEVER visit your tire service again. read more

I had an appointment for new tires to be installed on my vehicle at 2pm (which I waited over 4 weeks for that appointment to even come available, but that's besides the point). I received the email that said to be there 15 minutes early prior to my appointment yada yada so like a good soldier I follow suit and arrive at 1:45pm. As soon as I enter, the employee "who doesn't normally work in the tire shop but who was unfortunately pulled over for the day" has the unenviable task of informing customers that the tire shop is running 2-2 1/2 hours behind because there were some drop in appointments earlier in the day that threw off the schedule. He takes my keys anyways, not sure why since I could have just sat in my car until they were ready for them and they could call for them or something. Costco not sure how your lack of planning became my problem but it did. When I have an appointment at a scheduled time, I expect that appointment to take place within a reasonable window of that scheduled time, as my time is valuable. When I take my car to Les Schwab's or Discount Tires, I am in and out in under an hour (no matter how busy they are). Yet, every single time I have an appointment with you all, I am there for at least 2 hours or more. You would have thought I'd have learned my lesson but I was lured in with promises of an appointment time that should have been adhered to and maybe a warm churro that could have been enjoyed while waiting. 3 + hours later I was finally was done and able to leave but received no apologies from anyone about the long wait. I've decided that your terrible lack of scheduling ability has affected my time, my job and my life for the last time. The time has come to stick a fork in it and call it a day. It's taken me awhile to to figure it out, I've given you so many chances to be the hero in this relationship, it's definitely a you problem not a me problem but I will never make this mistake again. You've lost me as a customer and my family as well (since I'm the one who makes the appointments) so our entire family will never go to the Bend Costco Tire Center ever again. read more

Me and my partner came to grab a quick bite at the food court - a chicken bake that he's raved about for years but we don't have Costcos where I'm from. My partner was misinformed that we could go in without memberships for food courts which the man working the front entrance very rudely and snidely informed us (to great lengths) otherwise. We get that most places are protecting their goods and clientele but terrible customer service and just unreasonably belittling. I purchased a washer and dryer from Costco who contracts with College hunks for delivery, instillation and removal of old appliances. I was totally impressed with Chris and Tyler who went beyond expectations. The current pedestal was the wrong size but with some remodeling , all made it work! The joy of a Costco trip is probably only muted by the fact that, like Whole Foods, everything is gonna be at least $10. I'm limiting myself to twice a month to stay on budget. However, as much as I stay away from fast food, gosh that $1.50 hotdog and drink deal is an easy lunch for the kids! You canNOT beat a foot long hotdog (at least that's what the kids say ha) and it keeps them quiet for a bit. Back to Costco in general, we visited this one while out of town visiting family, and all the food and deals are consistent- that matters. I can bring a little bit of Texas to my Oregon family with a taco Tuesday night - thanks to the cilantro marinated shrimp, the taco kits and the pork carnitas. Omg those pork carnitas are legit!! You heat it all up in a skillet - and in 10 minutes it smelled like I had slaved the whole day cooking up magic. I appreciate there are a lot of local wines along with the Costco brand faves. Oh and the berries are mostly (all?) organic and really reasonably priced. Oh here's a tip too, if you use Instacart, you can order from Costco without a membership (may be charged a bit more). I definitely do have a membership myself, but I do have friends who don't need to buy as much stuff to justify a $60 annual membership. Pro tip, the executive membership is $120, but you get 2% cash back (look at their website to confirm obvs.) in the form of a Costco check. I always get enough back to pay for the membership and then some. Win win! read more

Came to this Costco on a road trip and was hoping to find reasonably priced gas here (gas is always cheaper at our local Costco) and after circling the parking lot, we realized this Costco has no gas! Bend Costco members are really missing out. Food at the snack bar was cheap and delicious as usual, but the line to order could be much better organized. Staff was friendly and very patient with a customer right in front of us who was hard of hearing and confused. I am not a big fan of the paper straws and hot dog paper bags, but I assume Costco is following local environmental regulations and can't be blamed. But for the record, the paper bags are too big and don't keep the hot dogs warm and it makes no sense to me that pizza is still served with silver wrap but hot dogs are not. If I could only shop at one store, it would be a easy choice- Costco! The only thing that really slows me down from shopping there more often is the large amount of each item you have to buy, but even then, you can't beat the prices! The associates are the best, honest and friendly and will do whatever they can to help you out. The company stands behind the product every time and if you did experience a problem, they always make it right. With so many shoppers, the goods turn quickly so you never get stuck with old or stale merchandise. I've never had a bad experience with Costco and I am thankful to see them step up and really put in huge efforts to protect the shopper during this COVID crisis. I'm not sure if others have experienced this, but I was at Costco twice last week and there is a man, with breasts, in the tightest most revealing t shirt, working right outside the front doors and you can't get by him without them right in your face. The ladies working in optical are so rude!!! I purchased a pair of frames on line to have lenses put in them After being ignored for 15 mins I was told that my glasses where cheap and handmade!!! Woa! That's your opinion not mine, and I was told they won't put lenses in my frames After I called and said I need lenses in a frame I got online I don't live in town and it was a waste of my time and gas If you don't want to use my frames there is a WAY NICER WAY TO TELL A CUSTOMER YOU CANT DO IT!!!! What a joke! I took my frames to another store and they had NOOOO PROBLEM WITH MY FRAMES. I just picked em up today and no issues. It's not my fault that the frames they have to choose from are not my style at all whatsoever I'm going to call the store manager to let them know how awesome their optical team is, NOTTTT!!! Bottom line I was ignored and then turned away. For no reason at all. I am a hair stylist and you just don't treat customers that way. I've since threw my Costco card away because I want nothing to do with a business who treats the customers poorly. And I'll tell my clients about how crappy I was treated! The folks that work at Costco are very accommodating and nice. The only issue I have is with Costco Logistics not making the deliveries they were charged with delivering. It was a bedroom set that I purchased. Part of the order was actually delivered. The purchase was to include set up; delivery; and removal of all packing materials. The problem is that all of the bed parts were not delivered and I have no bed on which to sleep. I'm really mad at Costco and I have no bed to sleep on. You would think that one Costco would be like another, but this one falls into the lower quartile of Costco's I have used. My poor review is based on the facility that they seem to be milking all they can get out of it. Too old, too small for the current population, no gas station, and a food court that is minuscule. Ever hear of a Costco food court that has run out of onions for the hot dogs? Never! What would it take to fill it? And both ice machines were broken or Out of ice? Again, never seen that. Who ever was the head of this department needed to be put on shopping cart roundup for a couple of months. Be nice if they could get someone to wipe the tables once and awhile. Getting really frustrated with the service and lack of professionalism at the pharmacy. Every time I come here there is an issue. Today they did not have a prescription ready that I dropped of two days ago when I dropped it off they said it was going to be ready in two hours. There seems to be a general sense of malaise with all of the Costco employees but the ones in the pharmacy are also plagued with a real hatred of their jobs and love to take it out on their customers. read more
