This particular Costco in Arvada, the cashiers are rude and they go so fast when scanning with the handle held device, they will scan one product more than once. This happened to me and they ended up owing me $8.00. I'm thinking that these employees aren't treated very well here and that's why they act out with so many customers. Every time I go here an employee has something rude to say. Yesterday I needed a tire plugged and I have 1100$ tires from them they said it would be 4 hours. Took it to discount tire they did it for free and no wait. I have a warranty through costco they should have someone to honor that program. today i went through self check out it was full but 3 employees were just standing there talking I asked one of them for help. Peter had an attitude the whole time I had never seen him before but he already had the condescending tone you need to get hired in this placr. I had all my stuff staged and I had to run 2 transactions not a big deal only 4 items but he ignored me and started scanning anyway, threw my beef and my chicken around like he was pissed and then tossed my bread on the checkout counter. then he started glaring at me lol like ur gonna get me in trouble? sheeeit. so far I have had a cashier make fun of my toddlers name and My wife has been discriminated against while trying to make purchases with her own money and she even has a GD membership. I appreciated what Costco was taking precaution during this time but my last visit there was no limit of customers in the store, people were all over each other and there was no social distancing what so ever. Spent 3 hours waiting for my tires to be changed out for a new set. Also, a TPMS Service Pack check was supposed to occur. I also specifically asked for it since my TPMS never worked correctly. The TPMS check was not completed. I would not recommend this COSTCO Tire Center. Go someplace else! read more

Today I visited Costco looking to get some passport photos taken, and for some anti-fatigue mats for my business. I got my photos taken and the person at the photo desk said it would be about a 20 minute wait. So I thought I would go get my anti-fatigue mats while I was waiting. Well, this proved a bit difficult. The first gentleman (who sincerely tried to help) took me all over the warehouse trying to find them with no success. We ran into a manager who asked Lucas to give me a hand finding them. We looked all over and eventually found them. I think Lucas was about as happy as I was to finally find what I was looking for. Due to the time we had spent looking for these, Lucas helped me check out quickly (it was a zoo while I was there). From the second I walk in the door I'm instantly overwhelmed with huge savings! I panic buy Pendleton blankets because everyone else is.. (best move we love the blanket) as we work our way over to buy 8 years worth of toilet paper we get distracted buy perfectly curated outfits by our Costco experts! As I pick out my 12$ Kirkland brand outfit that will last the rest of my life I make way over to a sample of a Delicious 12 month aged cheddar and then work our way back towards the front but wait... gummie bears are on sale??? We ended up buying 1 container which is equivalent to about 40 million gummy bears sure to last any normal human 14 years. read more

We go all the way up to this Costco for one specific reason. To get some of their Bhakti Chai. The closest one to Denver that carries this locally made (Boulder) chai. It is spicy and gingery and needs to be refrigerated and we enjoy it with some almond milk...and occasionally with some coffee to make it a "dirty chai". For whatever reason, this location is kind of crazy busy / chaotic. Perhaps it is just us begin frazzled after to drive to get there. You can never be sure. But it does seem a bit different than our good ole Park Meadows standard one. read more

I rarely shop at Costco, and after today, I may not have to be back for a year! I am not a member, but I know one, shhhh! What was unnerving to me was that the CUSTOMERS said 'hello' to me as I navigated each aisle with my colossal cart, which of course was starting to fill with a ridiculous amount of outsized consumer goods. This was pleasant, the people, not the portion sizes, but strange since nobody says 'hey' at other stores; a nod maybe, but not a verbal greeting. It's almost like I was 'in' the club, a member even, not yet Elite but nonetheless as long as no one ratted me out as a non-disciple I was safe to wheel around and keep adding to my treasures. The prices on many, but not all, items are the absolute rock-bottom you can find; use the RedLaser app on your smartphone to scan the barcode and see for yourself. The best thing for me to buy here are razor blades which are outrageously priced everywhere else but tolerable here. I found it remarkable that Costco has a whole category just for emergency food supplies. Do the members know something I don't? Maybe I should stock up on the 7-day, 4-person emergency food kit for $399.99, $14.29 per day per person, average calories per day, 1753 just in case. Or maybe, this is a new diet thing that I don't know about? Hmmm...tempting, do I have room in my cart? Definitely! read more

I love Costco. This location is always busy, as many of them are. Their Kirkland brand stuff is all great. Regular purchases are prime beef, rotisserie chickens ($4.99!), shampoo and conditioner, Halloween candy, some snack foods (popcorn, tortilla chips), spices, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, cheese. They don't sell Kirkland booze in this location, but their Kirkland brand wine and prosecco is good and cheap, and so is their vodka. Their customer service is amazing. Their cashiers are so fast (I wish other retailers would take lessons from them!). You can return anything at any time without the physical receipt. I can go in to Costco for one thing and leave spending $100. Before hitting the food court. The food court now has a self-pay station which makes it even faster to get through- no lines! Now if they could just bring back the polish dog in the food court, I would be happy. read more

I have a membership here and I like it. I try to come like once a week to grab some frozen food, dog food, snacks, and gas. Its not a deal breaker or anything but this place is always so busy when I go there. People are everywhere with their giant carts and flats going crazy in that place. I have to take it slow there so I don't accidentally run into someone its insane. I wish they had better hours. most of my free time is early in the morning and late at night so that makes it kind of rough driving from Denver to Arvada to shop. read more

Who doesn't love a trip to Costco!? I've been coming here for years, and could live here if they let me. Their products are of high quality, the membership price is extremely affordable, the clothing is nice, and their food samples, why, don't even get me started on the food samples. My husband always asks when my monthly trip will be coming up so that he can tag along and munch on those. Not to mention, their employees are top-notch. I never worry about what check-out line to get on, since they're all quick and courteous. And their pizza is delicious! My favorite is the combo, while my husband swears by the pepperoni. By the way, cool fact, Costco's "single best selling product is a classic staple - toilet paper. Specific to tire service. I ordered my tires online and scheduled an appointment. I was notified that the tires had shipped 4 days before the appointment. When I arrived at the appointment they said that they had only received two of the tires. I verified online with their own tracking number that the tires had been delivered, but they could not find them and said they would not be delivered for another week. Wasted 2 hours with the process when it's something they could have called me for a reschedule. No offers of any compensation for wasted time. It is hard to buy tires confidently. It's Costco and I've been a member since 1998 and living in Chula Vista, CA. It is a GOOD thing to have if you're buying for a child care business (I was back then), a large family (I have had as many as 5 children living with me) or need to buy in bulk a few times a year. The pizza and hot dogs in the "food court" are the bomb and always have been! $9.99 for an 18 inch pizza...$0.59 for a 20 ounce soda...can't beat that!! The prices haven't changed since 1998, so that's a total bargin! As others have said, the parking sucks and people are ruthless when it comes to finding parking spaces. I've had one of my tail lights cracked in the parking lot when we were shopping inside. They don't have security cameras and this person was a hit and run. Sucks. That aside, they have a HUGE selection of organic products...and they accept SNAP benefits (formerly called Food Stamps), which is an awesome thing for those that have been victims of our crappy economy. I tried a Sam's Club membership a while back...I was NOT impressed. I'll stick with Costco! read more

Not sure why, but Costco got rid of the chocolate/vanilla swirl yogurt and replaced the chocolate with an Acai berry mix. This is nice for those looking for the ever popular acai bowls (which are good) but when swirled with vanilla, it tastes horribe. Just get a new machine for the acai bowl mix. Its popular enough that it'll pay for itself. Bring back the chocolate and vanilla swirl. read more

I'm no stranger to Costco, and this place was crowded! But staff was very helpful. And everyone seemed very friendly. We also took the opportunity to grab a quick meal here. Great customer service who called and apologised and assured us that none of such throwing of products will happen anymore when I emailed them to feedback. I hate the way they abuse your produce when ringing you up. There is no care taken by anyone to think you might not want your purchase slammed around into each other for their speediness. Costco employees also seem to think they are better than you! We signed up for the credit card and the girl was acting like we wouldn't be approved based our appearance. Her jaw dropped when she saw what our credit limit was! Basically we only go there for gas and a handful of items now. Not worth the abuse and disrespect of the employees. Came to the store just to get a flu shot. We're not members. The first person we talked to was pleasant and guided us to the pharmacy. After that we wanted to check out the store and see if we wanted to switch to Costco from Sam's. Well after talking to a few other people, we decided not to. Every interaction we had other than the greeter was a joke. Pharmacy staff were very rude, asked questions about switching and they responded rudely. Just the customer service showed how much better of a store Sams is. Pretty much all the employees we interacted with seem like they some how are more privileged than us. Really crappy parking situation, and very dirty. I'm used to Costco having above-par Steaks and Salmon. I was there this weekend, while the "Seafood Fest" was going on... usually meaning even FRESHER seafood. Unfortunately, here, all it means is that the entire Meat and Seafood area smells of rotting fish. Probably because the ice station with the "Fresh" (Frozen) Crabs, Crab Legs, Scallops, and Shrimp literally had decaying, oozy fish over the edges of their metal containers. (In which they were in large chunks, still frozen.) Add that experience to Dave B's comment that Arvada charges sales tax on food and this Costco is just a loser. read more

I WILL NEVER GET LENSCRAFTERS LENSES AGAIN. So I broke my prescription glasses a few weeks back and purchased new frames. I got new lens quotes from Lenscrafters & Pearl Vision (Both Owned By the Luxxotica Monopoly). Both quotes exceeded $300 for their anti-reflective lenses. I thought that the price was a little steep and did not pull the trigger. I remembered that Costco had an optical section, so I went there not expecting much. They quoted me $68 for the same lenses plus an $18 charge for not buying my frames there. In disbelief, I pulled the trigger right away. What deal! The only catch is that the lab is not onsite, so there is up to a 2 week wait, but who cares when the price is 1/3 the price of Lenscrafters. I dropped my frames on a Saturday and received my glasses on Friday (5 business days). I could not be happier. read more

So I'm mostly reviewing the tire center because that is the only place that has rubbed me wrong. And it's a bummer to kill the rating, but THEY FREAKING STOLE ONE OF MY HUBCAPS AND THE SCREW THAT HOLDS MY SPARE TIRE IN MY TRUNK!!! The hubcap was probably worth upwards of $8 if that, but it's the principle of the matter. And now though my car may be even with only two hubcaps, my spare tire continues to bounce around the back of my car like some possessed bouncy ball on steroids. I can't believe I just found myself saying "I need to go to Costco today". Costco is not a place one needs to go to. You go because you're a food hoarder (which I'm somewhat guilty of). We have a few things that we go through so much of, that bi-monthly trips seem necessary: greens and avocados. They have huge tubs of pre-washed organic greens (spring greens or spinach) for $3.99. That's what you'd pay for a normal size, on sale, at WF. The bags of avocados are something like $3 for five big, unsqueezed avocados. If I could just end it at there, run in and get those few items, we'd be all good. But oh no, I might just need another bag of spinach ravioli (you know, in case we run out of the two bags already in the freezer), another bag of organic blueberries, an econosize tub of fresh salsa (which we can actually go through in about a week) five lbs of organic brown rice, a bag of bell peppers, a jug of Naked Juice, a five pack of mascara (which is my makeup expenditure for two years, at least!), a two pack of Rudi's bread....and the list goes on. By the time I leave I'm always no less than $150 poorer. The weekends (when I go) are the times to avoid. They do often have samples that are plentiful enough that one doesn't need to eat lunch. But it gets pretty real in the Costco parking lot and Arvadians(?) aren't the best or most attentive drivers (too much attention finding two up close spots in which to park their "Freedom isn't Free" F-550 turbo charge, Hemi, something or other). I always park as far away from the entrance as I can toward the secret exit by the gas station and then take my chances as a defenseless ped. The attached liquor store is contracted by but not affiliated with Costco so feel free to buy cheap booze to your heart's desire without a membership. read more

Costco, for me, is the stuff of nightmares. Too many people milling about or rushing the sample people to get their samples before everyone else. It's a bit much. Having said that, you can certainly find a lot of good deals at Costco if you're willing to buy them in bulk. Also, the sample-passer-outers are always very nice, usually older folks who will take the time to give you a smile or charmingly sell their product. I buy organic produce here, and find their spinach and spring salad mix to be SO much cheaper than at King Soopers or Safeway, particularly if you eat a lot of organic produce, such as we do. Also, not in keeping at all with the organic produce theme -- if you like cheap fast food, the hot dogs and pizza, etc., are about as cheap as it gets. $1.50 for a hot dog and coke? Not bad, if that's what you like. read more
