He took our drinks order and served us. I asked to set up a tab and he was fine. He pointed out the special board and welcomed us to take our seats. I had a burger and chips, it was nice enough. My colleague had fish and chips and he said his fish was actually really nice and definitely a good bit of quality fish. The waitress was so sweet, attentive and amusing! The decor was lovely and you can tell it's just had a big makeover. The whole place was immaculate. A really decent selection of drinks, including London lagers and ales. It is is at the posher end of "gastro pub". I would go back here 100%. If nothing else the staff have won it over for me hands down. You k ow you'll get served timely, decent food, with a smile, nothing too much effort.

They're dog friendly and there's a really nice nature walk right opposite the pub. You'd want to get there by car as it's in the middle of Watford road but to easy to find. The staff there are welcoming, we actually went on Boxing Day thinking it' probably be too busy but they were really nice and we got a cozy sofa spot next to the bar. The food is nice and warming I had the butternut squash soup of the day with nice homemade bread. They do amazing seafood hence the name and I'm eager to go for the lobster Tuesdays. I think you have to book in advance due to popularity. Will definitely recommend any hungry hikers and families with kids as they have a lot to choose from with whole lot of alcohol choices too!

Ambience is as good as it can get considering that it's on a high street. Sparkling clean and service with a smile. Why not give us a larger table in your completely empty restaurant? I like that they give your own bottle of water. The chicken kothu was really good. Street food from the eastern part of the island if I read it correctly. Chopped up roti, chicken, egg, onions and more. Tastes better than it sounds. They need to serve this dish in a larger bowl as it falls out when taking food out. The potato curry tastes good, but it's supposed to be in a coconut curry sauce. Which however was not very creamy and more on the watery side. As if someone had diluted the coconut with water and oil. Also a rather small curry portion. Also tried the puttu, which was three flour rolls, brown and white, good for pouring curry or Sambar over. The music makes for a not so very intimate and relaxing dining experience. Fast beat and loud like a Sri Lankan rave party, although quite entertaining music. They have a seafood Thali for £15 for those willing to splurge at lunch.

Why we chose this particular restaurant, I can't tell you, but it probably was because it was the furthest one out of the main centre and there was a lot of vegetarian choices on the board outside. Having never tried it before and in need of a good meal we took a punt and it paid off. This is a lovely, intimate and classic Italian restaurant. It's warm and inviting with simple decor. It wasn't overwhelmingly busy on the night we went in, but it did appear to have a few families in, being very accommodating for the children. We had a very enthusiastic male waiter who told us of the specials in great details and offered his recommendations. Pizza dough is made freshly on the premises and everything is as it should be when you're paying someone else to cook for you, fresh and home made. Tempted by the various fish options the Mrs found it hard to choose and in the end plumped for the swordfish. By the noises coming out of her she rather enjoyed it. I went for a simple vegetarian pasta dish which was rich and full of flavor. The sauce was divine and the pasta perfectly al dente. The swordfish couldn't have been as filling as my pasta as the Mrs had no problem finishing off my plate. While the waiter was enthusiastic upon first order, he did appear to loose interest and we had to chase our drinks as the night went on. However overall it was a wonderfully pleasant experience. Simple, unpretentious flavorsome food and wonderful intimate surroundings.

It was quite cozy in that we had too many people for what the room should have held, but the serving team still did a nice job and everyone had an enjoyable experience. What a view! You overlook the Thames and Richmond Bridge, and it's really lovely. They offer a prix fixe menu along with the standard a la carte, but as the options on the first menu were so nice, we went for 2 courses each and a shared dessert. My Roquefort salad starter was pretty and very tasty and I really enjoyed it. Mom-in-law had the special soup (leek and potato). She said it was delicious but piping hot, and it took quite a while for it to cool down enough for her to eat it. I absolutely love the way the French cook veal, and I was really excited about my veau a Lyonnaise. It was served with scrumptious roasted potatoes. The dish was really good and I nearly felt like I was back in France. Mom-in-law had a buckwheat galette (a Crepe that's folded in on the sides) stuffed with mushrooms, ham and cheese. The buckwheat flavour added something really special to this dish - it was great. We decided to split a citron Crepe for pudding and it was delicious too. Our server was pleasant and friendly, the view was beautiful and the food was great.
