I really want to give this restaurant a '3.5' rating. '4' is just a bit too high, but this is still…read morea solid place for a meal. Good for couples, families, or groups. The atmosphere was tropical and relaxed. The staff were friendly, albeit a touch inattentive. The wait for a soda was so long it had us wondering if it had been forgotten. This would have been acceptable if the place was busy, however only two other tables were occupied in the dining room. Hubby and I ordered the jerk spring rolls, chili and garlic prawns , bbq ribs, and fries. This light meal of small bites had strengths and weaknesses. The prawns were 'ok' but overcooked. The bbq sauce was DELICIOUS and should be sold in bottles. Fries were just right, and the spring rolls were our favorite item.

We both felt unimpressed and as if it wasn't worth the £34.50 we paid. To be fair, they kept the drinks flowing but the food was a let down. To start, I ordered chick pea curry. It came with only one piece of bread, which was not enough. For the entree, I ordered the spiced chicken tenders and BBQ pork rib. The plate looks sad to me, with only two ribs, two small chicken tenders, and maybe a handful of fries. My friend ordered the jerk salmon and was surprised at how tiny the portion was for the price. For dessert we got the rum cake, which was okay but not great. Definitely have had better rum cakes in my day. Probably would not go back here, but maybe see for yourself!

Shentah, the host, was saying how a few people on the list encouraging others to put their names on the list. She even invited people to the stage who they did not put their names on the list but not me. When I asked her the reason she said other people put their names above me so she could not had a chance to call me. I took the list, and showed her how my name was still on the 8th and at least 15th people was on the stage but not me. Then she had no answer and said. "Yeah ok". It is all, yeah ok! Hell, not yeah ok! I am not black and I am not borned in the UK but this does not give her a right for discrimination. I thought Troy bar was very inclusive place and I was really enjoying being there. Obviously I was wrong! Another odd thing about this place, besides the rude management, is that they only accept cash for the entrance fee and food, but you can pay for drinks with a card. It's curious that they have the capability to accept all payments by card but choose not to. Additionally, they do not accept banknotes issued by Scottish banks, even though refusing them is against the law! Go somewhere else; there are plenty of better options nearby. I haven't tried the food, but I saw the kitchen, and the hygiene is poor!

Every day of the week, there's a different genre of music including reggae, swing and jazz. This venue is intimate as it is centered around one main room where the stage is. The bartenders are chatty and the crowd is low-key. Great place for an evening of relaxation and conversation!
