    Nobody around part 1 GMC.
    Ryan O.

I'll own it: I'm a bit particular. Not "difficult," just the type who reads the fine print and expects the headline price to be the price. No test drive, no trade-in, no financing gymnastics--I wanted the advertised 24-month lease and to pay it in full. That should be "easy mode," right? Reader, it was not. If you've ever ordered a pizza online for $15 and had the driver show up asking for $25--plus a mandatory "anti-theft pizza lock"--that's basically my weekend at Costa Mesa GMC. The setup: Sunday around 10:30 a.m., I requested lease pricing for a 2025 Hummer EV. The GMC site showed a 24-month lease totaling ~$15,000. That was the starting line. Spoiler: we did a lot of laps. Communication? Like trying to text a brick. I had to call and follow up multiple times just to get a confirmation. At 12:45 p.m., I finally got a call: "It's about $25,000." No documentation. I pointed out that this wasn't even close to the website price and sent proof. Plot twist #1 (aka "The yo-yo"): At 1:56 p.m., the number magically became about $16,000. Progress! Then I asked for a written quote and spotted a stowaway: KARR security--5 years for $1,045. Not on the dealer site. Not on GMC's site. But apparently on my bill. Why this add-on felt especially wrong: This is a 2025 Hummer EV--a rolling supercomputer that already comes with built-in security features and OnStar/connected services. It's like being sold an "extra seatbelt" at the door of an airplane. The truck already has the safety net; charging another grand for a third-party alarm felt redundant at best and predatory at worst. I said "No, thanks." They said "No, actually." I asked to remove the add-on. The dealership refused because they'd "already taken a significant markdown to get to my price." Clarification: "my price" was the advertised price. "Apply online," they said. "But you still have to show up," they said. I completed the GMC online application around 6 p.m. Sunday. By 10 a.m. Monday, radio silence--then an email from the sales manager at 10:21 a.m. asking how they were doing. I replied quickly. No response. Plot twist #2 (aka "We lost your homework"): After more calls/emails/messages, at 11:30 a.m. I was told they don't receive the application from GMC and I needed to fill out a new one. I did--within minutes. Finally, a heartbeat: After several promised call-backs that I had to chase, I was told at 5:00 p.m. Monday that everything was processed and good. Pickup day, bring a book. I scheduled 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to sign and pick up, asked that everything be ready because I was short on time. I arrived 10 minutes early expecting crowds. There were none--not in GMC, not in Cadillac. A dealership tumbleweed moment. The Hummer? Not charged, not detailed. I waited another hour to even get into the signing office. Plot twist #3 (aka "Now you see five years, now you see three"): Once in the signing office, the $1,045 KARR "5-year" suddenly became a $1,000 "3-year" alarm. Still unwanted. Still unadvertised. Still mandatory. I asked to remove it--again told no, and that the earlier number was "priced wrong." And again--why that's absurd on a Hummer EV: Between factory theft-deterrent hardware and OnStar's connected capabilities (you know, the stuff built in so you can ping, lock, locate, and get help), selling me a bolt-on alarm felt like charging admission to use the door handle. The truck already speaks fluent "security." Credit where it's due: Abraham and Berenice were kind and tried to help. It felt like they were pushing a boulder uphill while the back office kept greasing the slope. The finale (cue confetti cannon that jams): I did get the vehicle I love--from a dealership I would not recommend to anyone. The "brand new" car had minor scratches, dents, and interior imperfections--like it spent the night wrestling a shopping cart.

mirror image of the oil leak I showed to Cruz upon the initial drop off

I feel taken advantage of and ripped off- I brought in my Cadillac for service, an oil leak and my transmission. I expressed exactly where and what it was one my engine I even showed him the leak. This place mis diagnosed my leak and reassured me my car was in good hands, kept my car for over a month. I had to rent a car to go to and from work. I rarely got an update on the progress or status of my Cadillac. I left messages with Cruz the service rep. I left messages with Sergio the Service Mgr. not one was returned until I went in myself to get an update. Finally I was told by Cruz my transmission was on back order not to worry. I then asked, "how's the oil leak repair going I know it is a major leak.(my oil leak was to the point it was literally dripping out from the second cam) and Cruz response was, "we have not started that yet because we are going to do it all together with the transmission." 1 more week passed and I got a call from Cruz telling me ,'Your car is ready all done," I returned his call and I asked wow how could that be if the transmission was on back order just last week?" Cruz- "we got it in the next day and we got everything done." (again no update on the progress) I picked up my car and the check engine light was still on! Mind you a Master mechanic supposedly passed my car off to me like this with the check engine light on. This was the biggest red flag that the mechanic or whomever the work did nit get done properly. Sergio the Service manager brought out his little apparatus and proceeded to attach the device to turn off the light. At that point I told him my car is not right, It still smells like its burning oil and I hear a strange noise. I even took him with me in my car to point it out. After driving he said, " take the car bring it back if anything goes wrong we guarantee our work." Here I am not even 2 months after with the oil leak present and I took it back to Costa Mesa Cadillac and I have been treated like I am an idiot. I have been disregarded and told this is a new leak coincidentally in the same area my cam. I asked Sergio to please honor the work and diagnosis his staff made that this is the same leak I originally came in for and he refuses to. I bring my car to Cadillac to avoid things like this and I will be following up with the BAR.

    Do not buys from them

I personally regret doing business with this place. I recently purchased a 23 GMC from them last night came in with a Capital One approval and it took them two days to make the deal. The first time I went in they treated me like crap and acted like I wasn't buying when I was already preapproved. Then when I went back the very next day, they gave me the runaround made me run my credit to put another inquiry saying they could beat the rate I have and they could not!! Just put another ding on my credit not to mention the process took over four hours, just to process paperwork. They also would not give me a full tank of gas because they said it's a used vehicle and did not offer me two plates on my vehicle. I would not recommend this place and will never do business with them again be aware of their tactics they just give you the runaround if you don't know what you're doing. Don't listen to anything they say. There a waste of time. And don't deserve your money

Typical bait & switch by the team at Costa Mesa GMC. Attached AutoTrader photo shows their current advertised price. I called ahead of time to assure there wasn't a catch or added accessories required to purchase. There wasn't according to them. BUT, pricing had suddenly changed, and "auto trader is a 3rd party and they had it wrong,".... Then it changed to supposedly the pricing was expired from last week and not updated on the site. Somehow their pricing went up at the end of the month while their advertising "Black Friday" blowouts on their website. Be aware of this dealer.

On January 23 ,I dropped my truck off to have the breaks done .Made a appointment for Saturday service, they confirmed that I had a 8A.M. appointment. They informed at 4PM that my truck would not be ready until Monday at 10 A.M.,I picked my truck up at 10 ,they gave me $20 off for the inconvenience. I proceeded to drive off their property .After making 2 left turns on to Harbor Blvd., getting up to 40 MPH the left rear wheel fell off. They didn't put the lug nuts on, the tire proceeded across the medium and struck another car head on. Luckily no one was hurt .It's been over 9 weeks , I haven't got my truck back from them. You would think the last thing they would want is a Yelp review like this.No one calls to give me a status; just say they're waiting on parts .

The truck the this dealership didn't want to sell and I bought from a much more reputable dealership.

Update....again...dealership continues to call even after ive stated how horrible this dealerships tactics are. I've written a review AND updated it and yet they continue to call. I do not recommend this dealership.

Well, my beautiful GMC terrain AT4 kept telling me I was due for oil service lol. I actually purchased my vehicle through Boulevard GMC in Long Beach, but decided to try out Costa Mesa GMC because it was closer to me. I'm glad I did! The service was five star from the initial phone call to schedule my appointment, to drop off and check in, to phone communication and pick up. Jessica in service was wonderful and they even washed my car before pick up! This is what you would expect from a great dealership with great customer service and I was thrilled. Ignore any of the wishy-washy reviews you may read and go here! Not only was the service five star but the place was impeccably, clean and service oriented!

I shopped around for a month for a used GMC Sierra and this was the only dealer that got to the point and wanted to get me a good deal. They didn't give me what i was expecting for my trade in but other than that I was in and out with a truck in a little over an hour and happy with the experience.

Seems like a management problem... I filled out an online form requesting some info on a Yukon, litterally a week later I can't get the salesman to provide the info I want, what it the out the door price on the car, get asked for credit app, how he can help, but seriously can't provide basic information, I was attempting to "shop local" but major fail. Messaged another dealer, who miraculously was able to provide me what I asked in 15 minutes, and was able to wrap up the transaction and have car delivered within a few hours. Seruously, the insistence on trying to get the customer into the dealer is a major red flag, provide what's asked, it's certainly not like a freaking secret, and you would have had this deal. Total fail on a 90k suv, and quite frankly the reason people hate dealers. Also, despite telling the salesman that I bought it elsewhere and why, still get a daily message about wanting to help.

Bait and switch type of dealership Have a Trx listed for 61,300 different websites show up they say 69 kout the door taxes and everything 75k

This salesman told me that I cannot afford the car

Used car sales can carry a negative stigma, but from our first impression, there was no pressure or typical sales tactics--just a team focused on helping us with the Kia EV9. When we sat down to go over financing and numbers with Frank, we expected the usual back-and-forth with a sales manager--but that wasn't the case at all. He was straightforward, honest, and just as professional. The entire team was transparent, including clearly explaining the ceramic coating add-on so there were no surprises. Even after we left the lot, they continued to go above and beyond--quickly addressing a couple of follow-up questions and a small concern we had. We absolutely love our EV9, and we've already been recommending them to others looking to get into an EV. If you're in the market for a well-maintained EV and a smooth, no-pressure buying experience, this is the place to go.

Those are fixed costs...Last, when asked about the manufacturer warranty, it was overstated. We did like our sales rep, inventory, but the pricing strategy was really not ideal.

I really wanted and intended to write a five star review of OC Autosource because initially I liked…read morethe owner, Tony Thompson and trusted him. I ignored other reviews and purchased my dream car from OC Autosource...a Bentley Continental GT Speed "Limited Le Mans Edition" (#7 of 48) coupe. Though the car had been in his hands for weeks, he apparently never bothered to have a mechanic look at it. I paid for a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) after buying it (my bad, don't make this mistake) and learned the truth about the car. The front grills had sustained damage, breaking off the tabs that hold them in place and subsequently been GLUED back on. The front left wheel had a crack in it which caused the tire to steadily lose air pressure, ultimately triggering an alert on the car's dash. This alert effectively froze the computer, making it impossible to use the navigation, listen to music or do anything else. I returned to the tire shop 3 times for refills, seven days later the alarm was triggered again, On my third visit they discovered the crack in the wheel. The exhaust system was loosely hanging on...missing brackets that secure it and prevent it from hanging low. The car has a 20 speaker, $7500.00 sound system but the blown speaker in the dash made it painful to use...like nails on a chalkboard. When I provided Tony proof of these flaws, he assured me he would make good on the repairs and "..do the right thing" and I believed him. I had everything fixed at a cost of $2637.79 (parts & labor) and now enjoy driving the car. Weeks passed and Tony never contacted me until I posted a review and filed a BBB complaint. 24hrs after posting my initial review & filing a BBB complaint, I got reimbursed the total amt for the aforementioned repairs. But because Tony asked me to "...remove all the negative you put out there" I feel this was mere damage control rather than his desire to do the right thing because I received more messages from him within 24hrs of posting my review than I received in the preceding 4 months.. I promised him an honest review on my first visit to OC Autosouce & that's what this is. I always keep my word. If you intend to purchase a car from OC Autosource, I suggest you demand a PPI be conducted before you buy. Have the cost of any repairs necessary be deducted from the purchase price and handle the repairs yourself. JMO...I could be wrong.

Unfortunately, my experience with the sales floor was the complete opposite. I came in expecting honesty and transparency, especially as an existing customer, and instead felt misled and pressured. The numbers presented to me did not align with my original lease paperwork, and when I asked for clarification, I was not getting straight answers. I would never recommend anyone come here to buy a car. Thank goodness I did my research beforehand and brought my lease paperwork with me so I knew what my costs should have been. I feel bad for customers who may not know to do that research and could end up paying far more than they should. I work in sales myself, and experiences like this are exactly what give sales professionals a bad reputation. Honest sales builds trust. Shady tactics destroy it. This was incredibly disappointing because I wanted to continue doing business here. There is a huge difference between the trustworthy service department and the experience I had with the sales side. I don't even know if I would return to the service side though after today's negative experience with sales.

I had a very disappointing experience with AutoNation Honda of Costa Mesa…read more They advertised a new Honda Odyssey for $39,000, which is what prompted me to make the drive all the way from Los Angeles -- nearly two hours in traffic. I confirmed the listing before heading down because I didn't want to waste a trip. When I arrived, I was told the vehicle wasn't actually available. Not only that, but the "new" Odyssey was supposedly a loaner vehicle that was still on the way from Honda and wouldn't even be available for another 60 days. That's not what was advertised. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic -- advertise an aggressive price to drive clicks and get people in the door, only to tell them the car isn't really available once they show up. Driving two hours based on inaccurate information is incredibly frustrating and a waste of time. If you're shopping from out of town, I'd strongly recommend getting written confirmation with a VIN and verifying that the vehicle is physically on the lot before making the drive. I wish I had. Very disappointing experience

The online listing made the car sound pristine, but in person, it had a long list of issues: broken trim, missing parts, mismatched tires, rusted rotors, and a non-functioning rear screen. These flaws weren't disclosed in the ad. Worse, the dealership attempted to charge $5,500 for paint protection, theft deterrents, tint, and other add-ons that were never discussed beforehand, despite claiming "no hidden fees." Their fine print later revealed these were pre-installed and not part of the advertised price. I waited more than 20 minutes to speak with a manager after raising concerns but willing to negotiate, but no one followed up, so I walked out. This place banks on uninformed buyers accepting inflated prices and vague add-ons. If you're a serious buyer, read the fine print, ask hard questions, and be ready to walk. UPDATE 6/28/25: After buying the same make and model at a different dealership -- one with FAR better integrity -- I want to reflect back at my experience at this dealership and their practices. First, salesman wanted me to negotiate on the final price, not the vehicle price. That's a classic dealership tactic as it protects the sticker price for their metrics, have an easier time hiding add-on profits, and it creates a false impression of flexibility. Ultimately, this is bad for the buyer because transparency is lost, it protects their margin and limits one's leverage. I knew that's what they were aiming at, so I held the line on only negotiating on the sticker price. Again, LOOK AT THE PICTURES AS TO WHY!! In spite of what I just said, he proceeded with the oldest trick dealerships do: "cool-down" or "sweat-you-out" tactic. This is done to make one feel uncomfortable or impatient with the ultimate goal of getting one emotionally invested in staying and "finishing the deal". By doing so, they wear you down so that you're more likely to agree to their numbers just to be done. There are other reasons too but this is a big one. ~20 minutes of waiting, I told one of the salesmen that I've been waiting a while for the manager and will leave in 5 minutes if he doesn't arrive. True to my word, I left. I never heard from them after that (they had my contact info) which tells me they would rather wait for a less informed, emotional buyer to foolishly agree to the unfair price of this car AND overpriced mandatory add-ons. Here's my take away from this dealership: 1) High-pressure, low-integrity dealership model: They prioritize margins over relationships with a focus on flipping cars at inflated prices. They also rely on delays, confusion, and "manager invisibility" to outlast smart buyers. 2) Poor reconditioning = Cut costs: The car's condition (damaged trim, mismatched tires, rusted rotors, broken screen and so on) says they're not investing in inventory. They're pushing it out as-is and hoping no one notices. 3) The "Fool Tax" strategy: the biggest one for this dealership. They keep cars on the lot long enough to find someone unaware or emotionally invested. I was never their ideal buyer. I was informed, direct, and clear. PLEASE TAKE MY EXPERIENCE AS A WARNING. AVOID THEM. I AM SPEAKING AS SOMEONE WHO DID NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. IMAGINE HOW I WOULD FEEL IF I DID. UPDATE 4/1/26: Since my visit, California passed SB 766, aimed at deceptive practices like misleading pricing and add-ons, the same issues I and many others have raised here. After 10/1/26, dealers engaging in those practices will face greater scrutiny. If you believe you were misled or defrauded, consider filing a complaint w/ DMV Investigations and keep all documentation. In Jan 2026, Yelp placed a "Suspicious Review Activity" alert on this dealership's page (see pic). Read it, then look at how many good reviews come from accounts with 1-3 total reviews here, versus those with a much longer review history. Draw your own conclusions. IF YOU FOUND A VEHICLE YOU LOVE AT THIS DEALERSHIP, PLEASE STAY AWAY!! THEY WILL USE YOUR EMOTIONS AGAINST YOU.
