New year, new flooring! We bought beautiful new tile from Cost Less Carpet on Fowler, and it makes my heart happy when I see it every time I come home. The tile is strong as heavy objects have already been dropped on it without breaking. It's a very pretty tile imported from Spain. Many have thought it was wood based on looks and think it's amazing. Kim at Cost Less has many years of experience working with builders to match flooring designs, and she effortlessly helped me coordinate existing old tile with the new. I shopped all over Tri-Cities over several weeks, and nowhere had such great help with such competitive prices! We gave a budget and brought samples of our existing tile, and she did the rest. Kim rocks! A few years back, we had the same experience with a different gentleman there while buying the living room carpet. We always gain a ton of knowledge as well as great products from this company. Kyle, the owner, has amazing employees and a great stock of flooring options. Tile, LVP, carpet, laminate, wood, and even countertop options. If they don't have it, they'll get it. Walk in and ask for Kim or call ahead and schedule a time with her. We went to the Cost Less Carpet on fowler st. Saturday the 7th the minute we walked in the door the woman behind the counter acted like we were a bother. We told her we were looking at carpet she said go thru that door it's back there so we went to look at the carpet asked for help and received none the one guy says you need a salesman we thought he was getting someone for us but he was too busy making his lunch so we left and won't be back. read more

needed a carpet for a room that was 10.5 by 12.5 - bought a roll of discounted carpet that was the end of a roll that said it was 12x16 but when it was installed it was mismarked and actually only 12x12. contacted manager Kyle of Richland store and he was very helpful to get the situation handled without any issues whatsoever, which was not easy but he handled it very well. I got marble countertops from them as well in the past as they had terrific prices and will buy from them again as they have shown me nothing less than outstanding customer service. Went here as we were purchasing our home and wanting flooring to remove the carpet. The gentleman (sorry I missed catching your name) asked us which styles we liked and offered to have us take a few samples home to see which ones we liked better. No pressure, not wanting to make a quick sale, he just really cared about us getting what we wanted to place in our home. Although LVP is waterproof we went with the laminate instead as that's what we wanted. It's been two years now with kids and furniture and company.... the laminate has blessed us. I would give this place 5 stars if more people like Shelly & RJ worked there. Shelly has been fantastic to work with. She has helped pick out tile, helped us design the tile layout for walk-in shower and always has greeted us immediately when we see her. She has went above and beyond to help find tile that was no longer available on their floor, and has ordered the items we needed right away. Not all workers there are as nice, that is for sure. Big mistake buying tile from these guys. Sold us two different dye/pattern lots of supposedly the same tile. Tile guys didn't notice it working late in poor light, so has to be torn out and redone. The dark square is much more noticeable than the picture shows. Partly tile setters fault, but wouldn't have happend if Cost Less had sold us tile from the same lot! Total waste of money! This wasn't cheap tile. The cheap tiles we bought from Home Depot for the entry were perfect! Go figure... read more

I concur with many other quotes: not sure this store realizes customers need help. We were in this store today with $1,600.00 cash with the plan to purchase laminate flooring. We were in this store for 45 minutes, and not once did anyone attempt to assist us. There were plenty of employees sitting at their work areas chatting among each other...The absence of any customer assistance made the decision to purchase flooring elsewhere very easy! read more

While shopping at Costless the Mohawk rep badgered us in the fashion of a used car salesman for about 30 min and actually followed us to our car while explaining that the carpet samples our sales rep gave us were "crap". We paid for our carpet on Monday April 16th and, while paying, we asked the person who rang us up if we could schedule install for Saturday the 28th. He said that would probably be good but explained that Costless would contact us once they knew for sure. That being the case, we scheduled install tentatively for the 28th. We received no updates on the order timeline, so on Friday the 27th I took off work to tear out the carpet. While tearing out the carpet my wife called to check on our order only to find out that our order had not been placed on the 16th ... it had been placed 5 days later on the 21st - with no reasonable explanation as to why. This meant we had to inform our installer, who likely lost income because of this delay, and cancel the installation. The Costless sales rep eventually called us back to let us know it would be arriving on Friday the 4th but again indicated she would let us know of any further delays. So, with this assurance, I took Friday the 4th off work, again to move the furniture and pull additional carpet. We assumed the carpet would be delivered as Costless had not informed us otherwise. Once again, on Friday the 4th, I called Costless at 3:30 in the afternoon, after moving everything in my house and pulling out all the carpet, only to then find out our new carpet would not be delivered until Monday the 7th. Again, we had to inform our installer who, again, likely lost income because of this delay. So twice, I took off work to prep for carpet installation and twice Costless failed to notify us of... firstly - Costless delay in the placing of our order, and secondly - the delayed receiving of our order. While I understand an abundance of excuses can be made for not informing us of our un-delivered order, it is unacceptable that the placing of our order was delayed for 5 days. We explained our timeline to our sales rep as well as the person who collected our payment. I later brought these issues up to our sales rep who snidely asked "why would you start tearing out the carpet?" Well, at that time I didn't want to answer in my frustration, but the obvious answer is - because, I assumed Costless was professional, courteous and organized enough to contact there customer if 1. Costless was responsible for delaying the costumer's order by 5 days or 2. if they had assured their customer they would contact them if any further delay was expected. As of now my family is living in and walking on the concrete subfloor and I have had to take steps to assure my kids don't step on the exposed tack strips. At this time our installers next available date to install is Saturday May 12th. It seems to me that if the order had been placed when we paid for it, on Monday the 16th, it may have actually been delivered on the 27th or 28th. However, because it was ordered on the 21st, a Saturday, the order was likely not processed until the following Monday, the 23rd, meaning the order was likely processed 7 days after we paid. An examination of the order placement and delivery timeline indicates the carpet would have likely been delivered on the 27th or at the latest the 30th had it been ordered at the time of payment. read more

The carpet we originally purchased had a few things wrong with it. So we take it back and the assistant manager, Tony provided us with the best customer service. He stayed after closing and made sure we left with everything we needed. The guys who helped measure and loaf the carpet were also really nice and friendly. We were just at Cost for Less Carpet in Richland and we will NEVER be back! We went there on a recommendation of a former employee, stood in the store for 15 mins could even be greeted! Not a hi, hey, what's up, or we will be with you shortly, just nothing. That's says something right there if you can't even great your potential customers. As with some of the reviews from a couple of years ago, I too had a bad experience with Costless back then. But if you are thinking of purchasing flooring PLEASE give them another chance! I went in a couple days ago to look at flooring samples and was immediately greeted by Timo. He taught me a lot about laminate vs vinyl vs engineered and was SO patient with me in the warehouse taking me around to all the laminate samples to find the best one to match my existing moulding. After that, Brandt stepped in and helped me check out my samples to take home. When I came back to purchase Kameron was so nice and rang up my purchase. I can't say enough about their professionalism, knowledge and customer service! Now I can't wait to install my beautiful new floors. What a great team! Thanks everyone! read more

We came to Cost Less Carpeting looking for carpeting to cover a room in our house. We had removed the old carpeting ourselves as well as the padding and tac strip. We came in and specifically told them what we were looking for and the dimensions that were needed. They were able to show us a good selection at very good prices, however, that's about as good as it got. The contractor they recommended operates only by cell phone and when I contacted him told me he would call me back but didn't bother to confirm my number. On the agreed date of install, he was a no-show and I had to contact Cost Less Carpet for his number. When he called back (a half hour later) he told me he had lost my number and was wondering if I was still going to have my carpet installed. I replied that I was and he assured me he would be right there. An hour and a half later (two hours after appointment time) we still have no contractor. I called the contractor to ask if he needed help finding our house and he said that he had sent "his guy" over an hour ago. He had his guy call me only to discover that in that hour he had gotten the wrong street name and somehow not thought to call me to figure it out. He said he would be there in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later he arrived and informed me after looking at our room, that he didn't have tac strip to secure the carpet to the floor because he was told that we only needed a section of carpet replaced. I called Cost Less Carpet to let them know he had arrived without tac strip and they asked to speak with him. The salesman that sold us the carpet had apparently misunderstood that this was for whole room and thought we just needed some patches replaced (in 22'x12') dimensions. Since he had misunderstood our need, he neglected to ask about an entryway cover. After the contractor left to retrieve tac strip, Cost Less Carpet called to ask if I wanted to have the entryway cover installed and to let me know that that would be an additional $60. At that point I nearly lost it and was about to ask for a total refund. The salesman wisely decided to cover the cost of the entryway cover at no charge. In Short: Cost Less Carpet has good prices but lazy floor staff and extremely unprofessional contractors. AVOID THEM ALL! read more

This store does not have very helpful sales staff or management. When I finally got someone to help me they were interrupted constantly and not very attentive. I did end up buying granite and floor tile through them, because of their prices, but I will not be going back for our other projects which include a very large kitchen and two more bathrooms. Here's why: I ordered a granite slab that when time came to pick it up, it was mysteriously full of cracks and deemed unusable. I was not allowed to look at my original slab but told I had two slabs to pick from to replace the one I bought. Well, neither looked like my original slab. The salesman took it upon himself to have the sloppy seconds delivered prior to me being completely comfortable with the sloppy seconds. Management was not helpful or interested in my situation and basically said I had no recourse or options. Luckily my contractor worked miracles with the slab I ended up with but I'm still convinced CostLess was hiding a huge mistake with my original slab. read more

It has been several years since we did business here and there is a reason for that. We picked out some beautiful hand scraped light oak flooring. Unfortunately it had a terrible factory finish and immediately started scratching with the least contact. We placed a rolling office chair on it and it wore all the finish off within two weeks. We contacted the store and there was no guarantee on the finish and the owner had the nerve to tell us it was our fault for abusing the flooring. They offered no help but to send a rep out who looked at it and of course again told us it was our fault. Apparently when you buy wood flooring from this store you should not plan on using the room for furniture, you may just admire it and walk across in your stocking feet. read more
