While I was fortunate not to completely loose my hair, it has thinned considerably in comparison to the thick head of hair that I was born with. It is a devastating experience and I spend so much time trying to cover up the thinning spots where my scalp shows through with teary eyes every morning. I recently purchased a "wig topper". Not a full wig, but it skims the top of my head (covering up the scalp areas) and blends in with my own hair. However, I wasn't wearing it because the bangs made it look too wig like, and needed them cut...professionally. Since my hairstylist is in Providence, I did some research and decided that this was the best salon in Franklin. The receptionist or manager was INCREDIBLY gracious and sensitive to my needs and set me up with the owner, Stephen! What a guy!!! Not only did he give me EXACTLY what I wanted, but he made me good about myself. He caught on that I wasn't feeling too good about myself... Truth be told, when I first walked into the salon, I had tears in my eyes because of my appearance. After leaving Stephen's chair, I had a big smile on my face and still do! I got a tea tree hair mask while shampooing that felt super great, and although they didn't have the exact shade of red I had wanted to dye my hair, Stacy (the hairstylist) combined some colors to give me just what I wanted. Stacy makes sure that you walk out feeling happy and good about yourself and took the time to ask and make sure my hair ended up the exact way I wanted it to be. I was worried because not a lot of hairstylists have experience with ethnic hair, but she did perfect!
