Is this a good place? They can definitely cut corporate American type of hairstyle. However, I asked for a fade and told her the clip sizes I prefer. She then went on to have a uniform size instead. The top was shortened but the way she cut it made the hair lay down so I look like a child. I would only go again if I knew someone that worked there. You are not guaranteed what you want but some people love to play Russian roulette. read more

Cost Cutters - Hair Salons Near Me - Cedar Park, Texas

My son had spent several months growing his hair longer than usual because he wanted a longer but still shortish hairstyle. He is somewhat shy so my husband & I went with him after spending the better part of an hour scouring through pictures to help convey what he wanted. When we got there my husband explained to Megan what he wanted, long on top, halfway over the ears, leave full in the back, & showed her the reference picture. He tried a couple of times to get her to look at the picture for more than the quick second but she wouldn't. My husband thought, "okay maybe she got a better look in that quick glance than I think she did". She did not. My husband & I were waiting in the reception area when we heard the razor. Why was she using a razor?! At this point my husband, upset & saying hair can't be super glued back on, went outside to calm down. When she had finished we also noticed she had cut the sides unevenly. We didn't want her to mess it up anymore so we decided to leave it & have someone else fix it. In front of Megan at the counter we discussed how the back was shaved & not kept long, etc. yet when paying she incredulously asked twice if we wanted to leave a gratuity. My husband, usually very friendly, chatty, & a generous tipper was very curt & did not leave a tip. TLDR, Because Megan didn't listen to instructions, couldn't be bothered to look at a picture for more than a second, & a lack of attention to detail, caused my son's hair to be cut unequally on the sides, shorter than asked for, & the 6 months he spent growing his hair long to be wasted. It should be noted there was no wait. They were not busy & no one was waiting after us. read more

It's an okay low budget place to get your hair cut. I like that they offer a three pack of prepaid haircuts for $33, which is a good deal. I've always been satisfied with my haircuts here. The interior is not new by any means but it's fine for a low budget place. Last time I came, which was a weeknight, they were almost fully booked, so try to call ahead for an appointment. read more

Let me start by saying that I understand that this is the budget option for haircuts. I thought I'd try to save a little money and give Cost Cutters a try. I called and made an appointment, and arrived 10 minutes early. The stylist sat me in a barbers chair immediately, which I appreciate; I hate waiting. I provided a picture of MY previous haircut for reference and the stylist said she understood. I proceeded to make small talk, but she wasn't having it. I sat in silence for 30 minutes as she butchered my hair. At the end, she commented about lines in it but chalked it up to me wearing a hat (I had worn a beanie early in the day) and left it. Fast forward to me getting in my car. The haircut not only doesn't look like the picture I provided, but it looks terrible. It looks like my 11-yr old sister cut it. I guess I got what I paid for. Unfortunately now I have to go tomorrow to a real stylist and pay yet again for a decent haircut. Lesson learned. read more

I am so glad I met a friend at this location for a convenient meeting place not a haircut. I needed a haircut badly but didn't have a special person due to me being picky and scared. I know it grows but still I hate getting a bad haircut. My friend recommended Brittany so I thought I'll give it a try! FINALLY, Brittany listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly that. I'm definitely going back to see Brittany. read more

I have been coming here for 14 years! I've always had excellent service. I've always been greeted with a smile and treated with respect at the salon on Cypress. Meghan has been my girl for the last few years and she is awesome. She's so awesome that I feel like we're also friends. They really treat you like family here. Everyone in my family comes here to get their haircut. They know all of us! Chong is also amazing. She's been cutting my husband and sons hair for years as well. Everyone always compliments me on my haircut and I just tell them I come here!! read more

Tiffany was extremely rude, butchered my hair, and gave the worst customer service. She gave me an uneven haircut that looked horrible. I had to get a second haircut somewhere else to fix her mess. My wife politely asked her to cut the back a little shorter but Tiffany in a rude tone replied "I'm not DONE". Then after the haircut she told me to touch the back of my head to see if its good, without even giving me a chance to see it with my eyes. Both the back and sides of my hair were cut unevenly. This women was extremely hateful, rude, and disrespectful even while I was making a payment. Instead of apologizing to us, as we were leaving she said " I feel sorry for your life". From her attitude it was obvious she is very racist. I have never been treated so badly in my life. This is the worst haircut stores on the planet. Save your money and please never come here! read more

Tuesdays 10 dollar haircuts for guys. And they always talk me into buying the "buy 3 - get 1 free" which is fine for me. Any dollar I can save can go to eating out and having fun - since I have a buzzcut, can't comment on scissor skills, but they are super friendly and never had a bad experience. read more

Great for kids and adults! The trick is to call and get on the list 15 min ahead of leaving the house.

The best haircut my son has gotten! And they were so sweet and took their time. Way good value! Also, suggested a wash (my six year old had never done that before) he loved it! Oh my goodness how spoiled he felt. Will definitely be back to this location. read more

I came in to have a quick haircut and Carmen was excellent!! She took the time to work with my very thin hair and suggested cutting ways to make my hair fuller. I love it!! Thanks so much. I will be back!! read more

This is my favorite place to get a haircut. For a busy guy, they do everything right. First, two days a week they discount the price by $5. Second, you can call ahead so no waiting around for a stylist. Finally (and most important) - they do a great job cutting hair. It's not a quick cut and you're out, and it's not an all day affair. They take their time and do exactly what you want and I've never had a bad cut. Everyone is super friendly and the salon is clean and comfortable. Excellent value and great service. read more

Love this place and have been going for years now! Very little turnover of stylist but anyone who works here is great and friendly! Call in and put yourself on the list or grab a coffee next door and enjoy the short wait! read more

Loathe as I am to give up the mini-neck massages, hot towels, pamper-ific hair washing, and televised sports of Sport Clips, I have to say I generally get a better haircut at Cost Cutters, and it's cheaper. They did a great job with my son, too, and he's not the easiest person to give a haircut. The employees are super nice and helpful. The "product" is also good and not crazy expensive like it is at some places. One day we'll give them the ultimate haircut challenge--my daughter. read more

I absolutely dread getting my haircut. I always end up getting the stylist with the awkward conversation or is having a bad day. Last time I got my hair cut the woman actually asked me if I owned a brush...but this time was so different from my usual experiences. (None of the above mentioned awful experiences were at this location). Nickee at this location was so nice and easy to talk to. I was quickly helped and was in a chair within a few minutes. Nice quick hair cut and eyebrow wax. Will definitely be coming back! read more

After moving to Cedar Park from another state, I had to find someone to cut my hair the way I like. I found Carmen Carmen and thank goodness! She washed my hair and asked questions about how I wanted it styled. We had a great conversation and at the end, my hair was cut exactly the way I detailed. I will come back to Carmen whenever I need my hair styled. Thank you Carmen, you made my day! read more

Will never go back ! Called -not busy stated I could come straight on and sit and get my 5 minute buzz cut which is well overpriced anyway , Got there and they said it would be 15 mins after I told them an oriental lady said no problem to get seen right away as I am 0n a tight schedule. After exposing this lie and wasting time to get there and fuel she said I cannot be seen immediately as told cause someone walked in right as I did I will never return with me or my kids and lie everyone I know to go elsewhere There is no excuse for this in the world and no apology could fix this I should have been seen as promised and wasn't sorry service bad cuts read more

Waited over 25 minutes for a five minute haircut of $16. The lady who cut my hair was really nice. Also they won't accept their own coupon for a haircut. read more

If you're skeptical about coming to a no frills, cost conscious salon DON'T BE. I've been coming here for over 8 years and even after moving to Georgetown still make the drive. Meghan is hands down the best colorist I've ever had and actually listens to what I want (so many don't!). You don't always get what you pay for and this is an great example of bang for your buck!! Thank you Meghan and CC for keeping me from jumping from one place to another! read more

Meghan, Barbara and Chong have kept us coming back for nearly three years. We are very picky and the three of them offer exceptional cuts for adults and children. Meghan is especially good at getting my son's cowlicks under control. They make us feel special and my boys look forward to getting their haircuts. Make sure you buy up a bunch of the coupon packs, because you cannot beat $11 for a good cut. Thanks, ladies! read more

Not kid friendly at all. My toddler left crying. The vibe in the salon is negative, doesn't appear the staff is happy with their jobs......in any way. They are miserable. I won't go into all of the details. The most important part is this, don't take your child there. read more

It has taken me since September 20 to write this review. I have had haircuts in my life that were less than stellar, but this one was SO bad, that when I went to another salon, the stylist was afraid to touch it! He evened some of it up a bit, suggested I let it grow a bit or go for an extremely short style. The left and right sides were nowhere NEAR even, the "bangs" were a wreck. Truly, there was nothing positive about this cut. On the day I went in, the stylist I got was the only one I'd seen in there before. I'd see some of her "work" before, and wondered how she remained employed, but thought I was just belng too harsh. NO, I wasn't! I wish I knew her name- she was nice enough, Asian, wore glasses & short hair. Will I ever return? Probably not. I have taken my sons to this shop, and it's been "ok". But after my fiasco, not sure I want to risk it again. This is an "at your own risk" establishment! read more

Very bad experience , this was my first and last visit , I went for hair cut and ended in worse hair cut I have ever get , when I reached home I saw in the mirror , at the backside one side o have still bunch of long hair left, o had to drive back to the shop and try to fix it , but still looking bad , never recommend any one to go there and mess up their hair read more

If you want color done-- don't go to this salon. I've had two appointments at this salon and both times, the stylists were all pretty stand-offish and rude. Definitely a weird vibe walking into the salon. The second time especially the manager was rude and uncomfortable to talk to about the coloring that I wanted for my hair. The stylist also COMPLETELY messed up my hair and luckily offered to fix it, but the manager was trying to charge me a million dollars for a fix. So much for "cost cutters". However, not sure what the colorist did to "fix" my hair, but it looks like crap a couple weeks later and not at all what I wanted. Don't go here-- you could do way better, especially since the current manager tries to charge you an arm and a leg to get your hair done so you're not even saving money. read more

Very nice! Great cuts and friendly staff. Money well spent. Camryn made us feel right at home and left us looking good. We will be back.

I am usually super picky about my haircuts but the well-trained stylists at the Cypress Creek Cost Cutters demonstrate time and time again that cutting hair is an art form. I go in on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they have their men and boys haircut special and for $11, I get a cut worth well over $100 at an upscale salon. That's not to say Cost Cutters isn't upscale. Their magazines are always perfectly stacked, the waiting area spotless, bathrooms cleaner than mine, and the atmosphere is always happy and family friendly. When you walk in the door, you're instantly greeted and quickly served. The best part about Cost Cutters, besides the fabulous haircuts, are the engaging conversations I have the stylists. I like to rotate through all the stylists, that way I get to know each one like they're my best friend. You won't be disappointed when you try out Cost Cutters at Cypress Creek. read more

They have men's/boys specials on Thursdays (or Tuesdays can't remember) and 3 x $10 coupons, that is fine for a quick haircut for my son but you can't get any other service on that day (blowout or color touch up for mom ) they reserve the day for only haircuts. read more

This is my go to salon, even though I live all the way in Leander. I've been going to Chong at Cost Cutters for about 5 years consistently. I haven't had one bad haircut except when I got a new girl (who no longer works there), when Chong wasn't around. The next day I came in and showed how I received poor service and I got it fixed for free! I love this place and so do my little brothers (I think cause they have free lollipops) (; read more

About 7 months ago I went to my hair stylist and had my hair dyed brown with highlights and a month or two later I decided brown hair wasn't the best look for me and wanted to go back to my natural blonde color, but I didn't have $150 to spend at a salon to do it. So instead of being patient I took matters into my own hands. I tried to do it semi professionally to minimize damage to my hair so I went to Sally's and got all of the recommended materials and when I dyed my hair there was no change. I ended up getting really impatient and I just got a plain old platinum blonde dye from HEB and when my hair was finally back to the right color I had dyed my hair 3x in 3 days(so much for minimizing the damage to my hair. Luckily my hair didn't turn into straw like what happened to my sister a few years ago when she did the same thing and was forced to chop off her locks. However I did have a big clump of hair on my right side that seemed beyond repair. I have been doing everything in my power to nurse my hair back to health and get rid of the clump of dry frizzy mess before I would just give up and get a bob. So as my last resort I went to cost cutters to get a hair mask that healed me hair a few years back and asked the shorter haired lady at the counter for her opinion. I wanted to know if this product I was buying was the best they had to nurse my hair back to health and I ended up putting the hair mask back on the shelf and buying a spray meant to repair the damage of lightening your hair. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and so reassuring. It hasn't even been two weeks since I started using the product and guess what... NO MORE DRY FRIZZY MESS!! Now I can continue to let me hair grow out and I don't have to get a bob just yet (: I wish I had gotten the lady at the counter's name because she was just so awesome! read more

When I first came here, I was not expecting the stylists to be particularly talented. However, they always did a phenomenal job with my hair, almost on par with experienced stylists at a salon. They were always welcoming, professional, and I never had to wait too long. Unfortunately, this past weekend I came in with my sister so that we could both get haircuts. Her stylist did a wonderful job! What I wanted was simple - a trim and straight across bangs. My stylist did not introduce herself to me (though her apron said her name was Jessica). I told her I wanted an inch or two trimmed off, and straight across bangs that stopped right at my eyebrows. I brushed my hair right before I came in, but she still pulled it very hard with her comb. She also kept combing over my right ear, so much that it was bright red and hurting by the time I left. She didn't even stop when I said "ow" several times. She tried to show me a "trick" so that I could cut my bangs myself in the future. I did not realize that she was going to use this trick on me at that moment until she had already cut the bangs. She didn't even move my hair to my natural part first or ask me where I wanted it parted. This trick she used was awful. The bangs came out extremely sloppy, way too short, and VERY crooked. I had long strangs hanging down in the middle of my face. I asked her to move the part to the middle so she did. Then she said the haircut was done. She didn't try to even out the bangs or anything. What's worse, I went to the checkout and she asked me how much I wanted to tip her. Under no circumstance should someone providing me a service ask how much I want to tip. I will always tip, but if there was ever a time I chose not to, that would have been it. My sister, who is not at all a stylist, had to fix my bangs when I got home. I want to give this woman the benefit of the doubt and say she was having a very off day, but she was extremely unprofessional and did not communicate with me at all. I will never come here again, but for the few talented young ladies I did have before, I hope they continue to provide great service. read more

Meghan is always amazing!! She has been cutting my hair for the last 8 years and does the best bald fade hands down!! Everyone there is always friendly and upbeat! I received the best haircut I've had in a long time from Lauren at this location. All the other stylists also seemed great. All the clients in the shop at the same time as me left happy. Plus, a cut here won't break the bank! I'll definitely be going back next time I need a haircut. read more

Definitely happy with the experience! Cheaper than SClips, short wait, and friendly stylist (Ashley W). Will go back again.
