I had a consult with Gehlan prior to my appointment where I discussed I wanted highlights to compliment my natural haircolor and a cut. I booked my appointment the next week and arrived at 2:00 pm and left at 5:29 pm. At no time during my time in the chair did he discuss he was going off our prior discussion and doing creative coloring. When he began to blow dry my hair he turned the chair sideways so I couldn't see the cut or color in the mirror, generally in the past my stylists have had me face the mirror so I could see the color. When I asked him to turn my chair so I could see the color he obliged me and did that. When I said I wasn't sure about the color because the roots were dark he told me to sit down and be quiet - hmm, not a great response. When after 3.5 hours I left to pay the bill I was shocked to see, I was charged for long hair, my hair is at my shoulders, for highlights, for creative color and one additional color. The bill was broken out to $155 Long - Full highlight, 1 creative color $50, 1 women's cut $60, cleaning and disinfecting $7.95 and 1 Color $36.64 totaling $312.50. It's been 3 weeks and my hair looks like it needs to be highlighted again because the roots are so dark. I can't recommend Salon Heather or Gehlan and 3.5 hours is way too long in my opinion for the services I requested.

Melanie is the most appeasing and soothing person, with a Gentle touch. Redheads are known for their sensitivity and RED Temper, contradictions! Melanie, when she washed my hair, her fingers touched my tender head with thorough "Merciful" fingers, then converged through my long FRIZZ hair. It has been over a decade of years since I could find an "adequate" hair stylist, more a knowledgeable Stylist who is not daunted by curly fizzy hair. Soothing and comforted.....what a great combination. MIRACLES do happen! More, I wanted to keep all that hair long as possible, HUGE CHALLENGE!! Melanie did not flinch instead - confidence exuded; she knows how to create miracles. Asked questions, mapped out her skills with her shampoos, conditioners and scissors. Melanie is soft spoken, likes to laugh, and when I sat in her chair, with my Service Dog whom Melanie was very wise and accommodating, bringing my Service Dog a beautiful soft blanket for her to lie on. What great treatment. Melanie washed and conditioned my hair and trimmed all the RED FRIZ away and still I have longish hair. I can't say enough about my experience. When entering the warm Hether's Salon, I was immediately greeted, sat in a comfy chair, allowed to be quiet, (this is so nice of them cuz of my Sweet beautiful Service Dog draws attention!) Hether's and Melanie are Keepers, they understand and perfect hair, they Listen to their customer needs. Lots of parking on the streets, and lots of stores and possibly some good eats around Arvada after some comfy treatment. Hether's is conveniently located on frontage street, when arriving you are in for a Treat!! Thank you Melanie!!! Okay, before I write this review I have two confessions…read more 1: This is the same place my husbands goes to get his haircut and while he has great taste in most things, I don't typically place my trust in him when it comes to issues of style and beauty. With that being said, I still gave GLOW a try. 2: I was used to going to trendy hair salons in the highlands or on Colfax where my stylists had full sleeves and six inch heels - so I was doubly wary of trekking out to suburbs to get my haircut. Okay, so i went to see Teresa and holy COW, she started telling me stuff about my hair and my face shape that I never knew! I initially just wanted to get a bang trim and a haircut since I was going to see someone new, but she talked me in to a slightly different look for my bangs and WHOA, it really changed my look. I'd been rocking the blunt bangs for several years, but she suggested a tiny tweak that has people coming up to me and complimenting me on my hair at least once or twice a week since I started going here. The little one, which is 4, has straight hair, but she had it chest-length, so my aunt asked to give her a straight haircut to the SHOULDERS. The "lady" finishes and on to the next girl. The oldest girl is 8, and has always had wavy hair, but long and thick and never in layers. My aunt asks that worthless "lady" to ALSO give her a SHOULDER-LENGTH haircut, but what this ogre does instead is butcher her hair the way she pleased. My aunt didn't realize the massacre going on, until the "lady" was done. My aunt is in shock. She didn't even know what to say. She tells the girl, "I asked you shoulder length, what the hell is this? And the ogre, I mean, "lady" replies with, "Well ummm, I didn't think shoulder length would look good on her, so I decided to give her some layers and style it in a different way." EXCUSE ME???????? I told my aunt she shouldn't have paid A SINGLE CENT. They messed up my cousins hair BAD didn't give a crap about it. The girl that cut their hair had the odasity to say, "it doesn't look uneven when it's wet." Ummmm???? Speechless. So the 2 days later, my aunt tells me what had happened (what I just wrote), and I get furious but tell her I'm gonna try to style her hair for the birthday party we were going to the next day. I decide to straighten her hair to see how bad it was and all I wanted to do was cry at how horrible that b-tch left my cousin's hair. I am convinced 100% she doesn't know what she's doing. So, I let my aunt know WE HAVE TO GO BACK AND TALK TO THE OWNER. We go back, and the owner seems to be in shock and says "Oh my god" when she sees their hair but says she will try to fix it. The owner takes FOREVER before she seats the little one. She takes a while to fix her hair even though she initially said, "Well her hair doesn't even look that bad". Okay, if it wasn't "that bad", why the f-ck did you take 20 mins to fix it?? So, it was supposed to be my 8 year old cousin's turn, but the owner says she needs to wax a costumer's face, but "it will be quick". 20 minutes pass.... When she finally has the TIME for us, the owner asks my aunt, "What would you like me to do?" And other than keep buzzing her hair off, we don't know what to say. We just tell her to make it as even as possible, and she keeps cutting and cutting hair and my aunt and myself just look at each other in awe. Meanwhile, the OGRE that caused ALL OF THIS, is across me cutting her hair. SHE HAS NO CLUE WHAT TO DO AND I FEEL SORRY FOR EVERY CUSTOMER THAT HAPPENED TO HAVE THEIR HAIR BUTCHERED BY THIS PATHETIC PERSON. She was TEXTING while doing a costumer's hair. I noticed she didn't even grab the scissors right nor knew how to do anything with her fingers. She must be family, because there is no possible explanation as to why she is there. I still think the owner should have refunded us the money, but oh well, we will never spend a single penny in that place again. After we leave, I ask the owner what the name of that "hairdresser" is, and she HESITATES, then says her name is "Perla". I don't know if she told me the truth or not, but in this review, I will attach a picture of my older cousin's disaster of a hair by the ogre, and another picture of the ogre TEXTING while she had a costumer sitting waiting for her to be done with her phone. Danette has her own shop, and it is located down the hall to the right. She has been cutting my hair for about a year now. I have very fine hair, and she does such a wonderful job cutting, and every time I leave I am so happy. Danette is the best stylist I have ever had. She is so friendly and welcoming. Her specialty is color. I have seen her cut kids, men, women, and every age group, and just do a fabulous job. Five Plus Stars!
