Jaime did my hair for 6 years and did an outstanding job on base color coverage of grey and my shoulder length cut and style. She is very talented. Notice that my comment is "past tense"? I have left this shop over their new scheduling software that demands that you leave a credit card on file to confirm any appointment. No card submitted via their text confirmation and your appointment automatically cancels 24 hours later. This credit card is charged $50 in the event that you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. 6 years of appointments every 4 weeks to the tune of $135 a shot is a lot of spend at this salon. As a victim of identity theft, I would not give them my credit card. Consequently they would not employ any kind of workaround and were willing to lose me as a customer. Amazing in this economic climate. I caution anyone interested in Cosmos to go in with your eyes open. They have lost a lot of stylists lately, in addition to me as a solid year round client. I am questioning the overall management of Cosmos. Wondering if the owners and management team need to take a hard look at what's happening. I scheduled my son for a haircut through the website that stated, they did men's haircuts. I brought my son in and showed them a picture. It was a shaggy hairstyle. The hairstylist immediately said she did not feel comfortable doing men's hair. Although I appreciate that honesty.She was labeled as someone who was able to do men's hair on the website. I was redirected to a manager who tried to tell me that they did not do close cuts or use clippers at their salon. She said, if I wanted that type of haircut, I'd have to go to a barber. This confused me as they clearly stated that they did men's haircuts on the website. She told me there was a difference between a barber and a hairstylist. Their website clearly states that a barber or a stylist could make men look great. So what she told me right there in no direct terms was that their company does not have the confidence to do short haircuts or men's hairstyles whatsoever. She tried to scramble around to overexplain why the stylist turned our hair cut away instead of just apologizing that the haircut was not scheduled properly in their system. At that point I had lost all confidence that my son would look decent at the salon, and we walked away. My irritation with this is that you should not advertise for services you don't feel confident in providing. It wastes people's time and money. read more

I've been going to La Vida (sister day spa) for several years and decided to try Cosmos as there was a monthly special for the Brazilian Blowout. The receptionist made it such a hassle to get this scheduled and then I come in for a consult and was scheduled two weeks out. I don't think the service was done correctly, I've been doing them 2-3 times a year for the past decade, so I'm pretty sure I know when it's going to take or not. The technique wasn't correct, she only did three passes on my hair with the flat iron, not the 7-10 times it is usually done and she did not section my hair correctly to ensure each strand would be treated. At the end I asked if I could come back in three weeks if I still noticed frizz and I was told that the service wasn't guaranteed. At checkout, I had to remind them three times that I was using the monthly special. Pretty meh. read more

I've had some really bad experiences with other salons and stylists in the area, but my Cosmo master stylist Cynthia is perfect! Cynthia takes the time to discuss my hair wants and needs. As a slightly older woman I really needed help with my hair style and color. I'm not really into all the new lingo and what my options are. Management is very unprofessional her name is Heather... this place has gone down hill. I've been going to this salon for almost 18 years, I have been a loyal customer. Then I was disrespected by Heather saying I am a problem customer that she has received feedback from several employees there that I am never happy with my hair and that is so not true. I had an issue 1 time many months ago because I left there and the sides of my hair by my face was blue and was told just to wash it and that will come out and it's toner that was left in my hair. That bothered me because the last thing I wanted to do was go home and wash and blow dry etc. this last time I was there I had to see a different stylist her name was Jaime. Something wasn't right with her she kept asking me the same questions over and over again and I thought maybe she has a memory issue so I kinda felt bad for her but she is young but then she started making rude comments saying things you shouldn't say the first time you meet a customer that's when I thought she was under the influence with something. Very dark energy! I left there with my hair having that blue tent on the sides I wasn't happy and was trying to see if this can get fixed because I had a special occasion that evening and I couldn't go looking like I did. So out of almost 18 years of going there I had less than a handful of times where I voiced a concern. I don't think I'm a problem customer!!! If I had as many issues that HEATHER claimed I did why would I drive all that way there to get my hair done every 8 weeks for almost 18 years?? There are so many salons out here. HEATHER was so unprofessional with no compassion to her customers. The customer is never right as they clearly don't care. I have been going to Cynthia there all this time. Heather states that she has received a lot of feedback from the staff there including Cynthia which is hard to believe. I'm still shaking my head with what happened as it really bothered me. Just be aware if you go to this salon and get services and have an issue with something don't voice your concerns because they don't care and the customer is never right in their eyes! They will rather push a loyal customer that has been going there for 18 years away than making a simple issue right. This use to be a very nice and classy salon now it's gone completely downhill since the previous owners sold it. Management needs to be replaced asap before this company loses all their customers. Overpriced, weak management and no customer service but stylists are great. Over 5 years prices keep going up, the front desk staff is unfriendly, unresponsive, and lacks knowledge along with empowerment. If you have basic needs this place works but if you want a warm welcome, questions answered, or enter I to a contract for blowouts then this isn't the place for you. If you have extensions then I wouldn't go here either. While their only went stylist is amazing, she's the only one and the explanations of why it costs $500 to remove and reinstall hair is lacking. I found that LUV not only took time to answer my questions but also only charges $250 and no charge for a move up. Also kids cut prices are ridiculous. Management is unresponsive and Secret at the front either has a learning disability or an inability to smile, follow up, answer questions, or think on her own and is very disrespectful. As someone who has been getting treatments from medspas around the country for about a dozen years AND as someone who has managed them, I am uniquely qualified to give these two businesses an AUTHENTIC review. Desiree does my treatments: I have visited LaVida twice and Cosmos once (so far). She has done threads (pods), Sculptra, Botox, Restalyne.... If you want these types of treatments, don't just use anyone....especially people who refer to themselves as "injectors". Desiree is an aesthetic nurse who has about 6 years in ICU. She always does a complete consult within a budget I set and the results have been nothing short of EXCELLENT. No pain...She uses lots of lidocaine (again, no pain)...She always has the office follow up. It is a professionally run business. Mushi is the owner and she is equal parts (to this client), creative and businesswoman. We need more of these in Arizona. My advice: If you are looking for someone to touch your face -- the first thing people see -- Don't just see "a nurse" or a "nurse injector" or worse, a Naturopath....See someone who works in WESTERN medicine....with solid experience in other areas (like ER and ICU) who also is The office staff is friendly, informed, helpful and there is no drama. Almost always, it results in a droopy left eye, which has come to my attention, is a very common but unfortunate result. I received a dermaplaning session here, which involved exfoliation by scalpel ie removing peach fuzz. There is no facial associated with this service, but that is to be expected with its low price. The woman who did my dermaplaning was great. I really felt she took her time to make sure I was getting the real deal. As for the salon itself, it's clean and spacious. It was pretty loud around the time I was there so I'm not sure how anyone would have a relaxing spa experience ie facial. Having that said, this seems more like 95% hair salon, 5% medspa. I only tried out one service but in the future, I'd likely try out a hair service rather than something for my skin. They do however run very affordable deals/promos that are advertised via their email listserv. read more

I had an appointment and consultation with a stylist name Stephanie today. This was my first time back to Cosmos in years. I was really excited because before I moved away I used to love Cosmos. She was very rude and abrupt and rough when she put her fingers through my hair. I got the feeling she did not want to do my hair because she kept making excuses about why she didn't have time to do what I needed done.... I was trying to explain what I wanted she kept interrupting and didn't really listen. She told me she had another client under the dryer.... as she so I felt pushed out. The salon was completely empty so she said it's too bad I don't have time because this would be perfect because no one's here... Weird. I could not get out of there fast enough and was very grateful to say I would reschedule even though I had no plan to do so... I think I really dodged a bullet here Later after the manager from Cosmos read my review they contacted me via text to ask if they could call me to discuss what had happened. I told them they could call me anytime Thursday or Friday and I would love to talk to them.... well... they never called me back... really disappointing read more

Colleen was just what I needed she greeted me with the biggest smile and a handshake and I told her I hope she took her vitamins today because I needed a real deep tissue massage. Well I received the massage I sorely needed and I specifically needed extra attention to my lower back and she worked out all my kinks and pains so I can continue on my trip in Arizona!!! Maddie cares so much about her work and puts in 110% to make sure I love my hair every time. Really disappointed. The lady who gave me the quote for injections and thread lift was amazing! Really liked her. I called back excited to make an appt and was told I couldn't make one. That United Medical Credit had to talk to them. Which they already had prior to my consult and United Medical Credit needed an appt to be set to issue the loan. I told Cosmos receptionist, and they still wouldn't make an appt. So I let United Medical know I wasn't gonna get the procedure as they proved very hard to work with. My procedure was $2440 and I was approved for a lot more. I really don't understand why they made the situation such a bad experience. It was guaranteed money. read more

She contacted them to try to add an appointment for her sister at the same time, at that point they let her know that their tech that did dips no longer worked there, I understand that things happen but they never made an effort to let her know ahead of time, so she would have just gone in for her appointment and not been able to be helped. Then after that she tried to still make it work and asked to get another type of nail done and they just pretty much just told her that they won't be able to do it and tough luck. I went for the med spa but was walked through the hair salon and wow, what a beautiful salon! All the staff were so authentically nice and it's an upbeat environment with a chill ambiance. Meaning the décor is classy & lively but the voice volume level was low. A great place to feel pampered. I saw Desiree on the med spa side and she was refreshingly what I've been looking for, a certified injector who has a really good eye for facial balance, and a bomb a** personality. I was thrilled with my results instantly. Although this probably shouldn't mean anything to me, she was happy too. It's a nice touch when you're getting a service so that you can look/feel better, and your injector tells you that you look great. Oh, also she is skilled in using the cannula technique which not many here in the valley are, so if you prefer to be poked way less, go see Desiree. I've been doing the filler thing long enough to know when I've found a gem. They also followed up with me the next day to make sure my recovery was going smoothly.
